[GUIDE] How to flash CM12 LOLLIPOP on Xperia M Dual (C2004/2005) - Sony Xperia M

NEW GUIDE - Activate Dual Sim
Changelog :- Dual sim activated (thanks to PecanCM)
Sorry Friends I was a little busy So I apologise for posting this so late but good new is that the dual sim users can now activate both their sims
So first of all things u will need :-
CM 12.1 FXP/Nightly builds - http://fxpblog.co/cyanogenmod/cyanogenmod-12.1/ or http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?dev...i&type=nightly
GApps 5.1 - http://209.95.39.164/Gapps/Lollipop/5.1/
Dual sim Patch- http://www.mediafire.com/download/9bwda63fn0h59cx/mi2-lp-ril-blobs2.zip
Now follow these simple steps :
1- (If you are already on 4.4 / 5.0+ just ignore this step) Install CWM/twrp recovery if u are on 4.3 stock
2- Flash CM 12.1 zip
3-Flash GApps
4- Flash the patch to activate dual sim
5-Flash SuperSU.zip to root ( https://download.chainfire.eu/636/Su...erSU-v2.37.zip )
5- Reboot
ALL DONE
OLD GUIDE- First of all , things you are gonna need
1- Unlocked bootloader ( follow this link if it isn't yet- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484622 ) [ Thanks ansebovi]
2- CM12 Lollipop zip - http://www.mediafire.com/download/m33vvbuy8iaoufd/cm-12-20141128-UNOFFICIAL-nicki.zip [ Thanks PecanCM]
3- Recovery ( CWM)
So let's start , first you need to switch baseband from dual to single , So that you can use CM12 with one working sim because flashing on XMD without switching baseband will result in NO SIM DETECTED ! meaning you cannot use either sim.
Download this Radio(c1905) - https://yadi.sk/d/xMjlpg_VTBRXW And This Backup - https://yadi.sk/d/WyPqqM6XTBYLn
* Extract the backup and you will find clockworkmod folder in it , put it in your ext sd card ( There must be 1 GB space free on it ) .
*COPY the Radio also on the ext_sd card .
* Now Power off Phone and boot into Recovery .
*Select backup and restore> restore from/storage/sdcard1 ( No need to wipe anything dalvik, system etc.)
* Select item with stock backup (stock_*) and confirm by selecting Yes.
* If ask Continue anyways? select Yes
*After end of restore select Go Back > install zip > choose zip from /storage/sdcard1
*Find ZIP with radio and confirm flashing by selecting Yes
*After Finished Go Back > reboot system now ( On question answer No )
* After a while you would have Clean 4.3 Firmware( Already rooted and have a custom recovery) with Single Sim Baseband .
STAGE 1st COMPLETED
Now the Easy Part
* Put the CM12 zip and gapps (https://s.basketbuild.com/gapps) into your ext_sd
*Now boot into recovery once again and format system, then wipe partition cache.. Then go to advance and wipe dalvik cache .
* Now Flash CM12 zip and Gapps .
*REBOOT ( first boot may take upto 15 mins so don't get worried)
TADA ! you have lollipop working with One Sim on your XMD .
And Lastly if by any chance You Brick Or Damage your Device than No One is Responsible .....
I'm Using it on my XMD it Works Great

Well Almost everything works fine for me , but some apps like the inbuilt "apollo music player" and Sony album app isn't working for me . Otherwise everything else is working fine and I'm using play music instead of apollo and Google photos app for Sony Album.

No Bro, you have to flash the backup too because i tried it too first and lost both of the sims network , probabaly because the radio is for c1904/1905 and the current firmware in your phone is for c2004/2005. So just flash the backup first than the radio , than cm12 and gaaps and you are good to go :good:

Ya bro i know , that's why i have mentioned in the OP that you can use only 1 sim for now And for using that 1 sim you have to flash c1904/1905 firmware first and just read the OP.

For signal you can't use dual signal in beta 2, you only can run in single sim only in beta 2, and for recovery you can try this cwm or twrp recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57652965 here you go bro

[Q] Bricked Samsung Galaxy W (GT-i8150)

I soft-bricked my galaxy and there's no way to fix it, help! Okay, this is a what happened, I installed a custom ROM which worked out perfectly well until one day all applications started force closing for apparently no reason so I reboot and got stuck in a boot loop. I can only access download mode, recovery is out of the question. I tried to flash back to stock with Odin and it "passed" but the screen was just blank. So, I removed the USB cable hoping it will work and it got stuck in another boot loop. I tried everything that I could have think of but nothing works. It seems that I'm not the only one and is common for Galaxy W devices. Please help!
Also, in the worst case how do I send it back to Samsung? I mean, I know how to but will they fix it?
Location ?

dont worry , you can just flash it again. A new stock ROM would do. Its no problem.
We have a guide here on this forum. Check it out ^_^

did you full wipe before flashing stock rom?
what stock gaming rom, it is full recovery?
you may can try:
- flashing again cwm using odin,
- if succesfull, boot to cwm, format data and cache, except system
- try reboot normally.
- if failed, format everything, except your sdcard,
- flashing stock rom using odin, (better use stock rom provided for your country), use original stock rom, not modified rom ! with size more than 350mb, its contain recovery, baseand and everything you need. of course your cwm will be replaced after. you can flash again cwm after your phone boot normally.
good luck.

Hi! yesterday I tried to get cyanogenmod to my Samsung galaxy W. Firstly I used this tutorial to root my phone View attachment 1899558
Then I installed clockworkmod recovery with this tutorial

When I did the ''IV. Accessing ClockworkMod Recovery'' , I tried to backup my phone, but there wasn't enough space to do it, so I pressed ''reboot'' and this happens, it goes through the samsung and galaxy w logo, but after that the screen just turns black, this happens every time when I try to turn it on. I can access the clockworkmod recovery.
I have tried to ''wipe the cache partition'', ''wipe data/factory reset'' and wipe ''dalvik cache'' but it doesn't seem to work.
What should I do, I don't want cyangenmod after this haha I just want to know if there is a way to get the phone working.
Any answers would be appreciated

Some wrong sequence there :
Forgets the steps as per attachment.
In assumption the CM9 ROM.zip is in your SD Card...
Boot to CWM
Locate the CM9 ROM using and remember the location i.e. External SD etc
Now under Advance...Format all folders clean (not the folder containing the CM9 ROM)
Wipe / Format / Cache etc = the usual
Wipe Dalvik
Fix Permission
Flash the CM9 then GAPPS
Reboot...:good:
No need to back-up once you have used CM9...you will never go back to GB
If you insist on back-up just move all your treasures in your PC 1st, best to format the SD Card then move the ROM.zip to it

I've a noobish quesion. For flashing a firmware using flashtool, I usually flash kernel.sin alone and all boxes in 'Exclude' unchecked.
How to do flash baseband? Does kernel.sin include baseband as well or do I need to do something additional or different?
6) Let the rom settle a little bit if everything on your sdcard is not read.
Can you clarify this step.Do you want us to wait until the sdcard contents are read?
cheers!
Maybe I should give it a try .

[GUIDE]Switch between any roms without flashing stock ....

Well I saw many people complaining that there sgy entered a bootloop after flashing a custom rom
Most of the time this is mainly because u have flashed a rom with different kernal over an existing custom rom .. this results in boot loops. To avoid this some instructions ask u to flash stockrom via Odin first... but then AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT
So here is a procedure to install roms like that vithout having to flash stock via odin
Remove and insert battery
Boot to recovery (volume up+power+home)
Clear data and cash in stock recovery
Flash cwm
In cwm go to mounts and storage
There format system and cash and data (do not format SD)
Go back and clear data and cash in cwm (just in case)
Go to mounts and storage and mount SD, system, cash and data
Now go back and choose install zip from SD
Choose roms zip file and install it
Have patience it might take 5-6 mins or even more
If u follow this method of formatting system etc u can flash any rom no matter wat from u r currently using (no need to flash stock before flashing another from )
That's it
Thank if I helped

Yeah I am sure bricked my phone while derping around with Hyperion
Then searched SD but there no Hyperion7.zip
So flashed jellyblast
then saw it was right there in SD
so again went to recovery and flashed Hyperion just clearing data and cash
Got bricked again
Realized different kernels so have to flash stock rom
But I was in bed while doing this and was not in mood to do all that
So I just tried the above procedure cause I thaught formatting all that would probabally erase kernal too
it worked
Re: Switch between any roms without having to flash stock ....
Well it worked not only for me see this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37238321
Re: Switch between any roms without having to flash stock ....
Oh another thing
Data and cash will automatically get unmounted once upon format them
Up have to take care to mount them again may be that's y it didn't work for u
In my procedure I have asked to mount them after formatting... to avoid just this

Re: Switch between any roms without having to flash stock ....
I don't have a PC for 6 month, i always do like this. During these time my device got bricked two times only and flashed stock ROM via odin with my friend's pc .this happened while playing with different kernels. And today also i changed from jb to hyperion...no problem.
and in between formating we have to mount every thing.
PRESS THAT THANKS BUTTON IF YOU THINK IT IS HELPFUL....
Yes, it really worked.
I havent tried switching from the other kernels but so far I tried it on savie's, hells' and kuro's kernel.

Dude if u were on stock rom .. u need not follow this procedure
Read the title properly
Remove u battery .. reinsert it then hold up+home+power to boot into recovery...
Wat do u mean u were on stock rom and tried this method ... u need cwm to do this
OK if it still doesn't boot into recovery
U have to flash stock via Odin
Next time read instructions properly ...
IF U R ALREADY ON STOCK ROM THERE IS NO POINT IN USING THIS METHOD
PLEEZ GUYS FOLLOW THE STEPS IN EXACT SAME ORDER OR U WILL 100% GET UR PHONE BRICKED I ASSURE U THAT ...

[FAQS] [LT26i][4.1.2]{LEAK} Sony JellyBean Firmware: 6.2.B.0.197 (WORKING!)

Hey guys,
Here is the Thread of the original ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252940
DooMLoRD ask to make a New Thread so that the original thread is not spammed.
I will try to answer as fast as I can and try to update this post frequently too.
So, here we go!!
Tutorial by maxgo1 :
1) Is This ROM work for Locked Bootloader?
No
2) Will work for Locked Bootloader?
No. This rom, and all others roms JB need a special Kernel to work.. so.. this need unlocked bootloader..
3) I got a bootloop after install this ROM..
On recovery, make sure that /System is unmounted.. (should be like this "mount /system")
4) I am on (XYZ) ROM.. What do i do before i flash this ROM ?
First of all make sure that you fulfill requirements :
-unlocked bootloader
-previously on stock .55 ICS ROM or roms based on that [since some components of THIS rom contain files from those firmwares]
-supplied ROM
-any existing kernel with recovery
-download the ROM and save it on SDCARD
-reboot device into recovery (make sure that the /system partition is unmounted, i have noticed that in some kernels the /system partition remains mounted)
-flash the ROMs update.zip (this will take some time)
-thats it now reboot device
-at first boot device will reboot once after bootanimation thats expected
-next boot will take a long time!!!
-it might happen that in after some reboots u get a "flashing firmware screen" thats ok.. let it complete... DO NOT DISTURB WHILE THAT PROCESS IS GOING ON!!!
-after a few reboots the ROM should stabilize!
enjoy!
So Yes you should be on a STOCK BASED ROM OR THE FIRMWARE ITSELF
5) Is the network now working ??
Yes
6) When will the official release be ??
Somewhere around end of MAY
7) Found a bug ?
Ok!! It will help a lot!! Post it on this threat and someone will help you with that.. Sometimes bugs are individual problems or general problems.. So, if was a General one, Developers will take care of it.. If it was a Individual problem.. try solving it..
Before You flash backup everything including sdcard..
8) I flashed successfully, how do i enter recovery ?
To enter recovery keep pressing VOLUME UP button AFTER u see the "PINK" LED at bootup (Sony logo)
9) Procedure :
Wipe data, cache, system and dalvik.. Then flash !!
10) Status 7 error ??
Read the OP carefully make sure that the /system partition is unmounted
11) Does the ROM include STAMINA mode?
Only Battery Management is included, but someone said that when you get to 15% it says that you can activate STAMINA to improve battery. We need to wait until final fw for that.
12) Does the ROM include Auto Superior mode?
No, it only has Superior Auto Scene Recognition mode, contrary to the last leaked fw.
13) After flashing this, will the root remain?
This is pre-rooted rom
14) Will Bravia-Engine work?
No, Bravia-Engine only works on locked bootloader
15) What about the kernel version?
Its 3.4
16) Since it is based on .55, will the leak work?
its not based on .55
17) Can i relock my bootloader after i flashed this leaked rom?
At the moment NO
18) Will I lose SDCARD data if I flash this firmware?
Only apps
19) So an overclock is possible?
No
20) Can not use 3g with data ?
Manually enter access points
I can confirm that when it goes down to 15% of battery it says it recommend to active stamina mode

This should be the app's problem...
As I remember it used to be like that even when I did nothing(unlock BL, root, etc.) to my phone...
Hi, sorry if this has already been covered. I did look but couldn't find any information. This is the first time i've ever installed a ROM on my phone, and I know you said that the install would take a while. I was just wondering if you could tell me roughly how long?
I think I'm just getting a bit anxious because there's no percentage bar etc to tell me if I'm installing this correctly or if it's doing nothing.
My phone's been sitting on "installing update" for about 30/40 mins now. Is this normal? Or is it safe to reboot my phone back into system and try again?

U have already lost ur warranty by unlocking boatloader.
So, just go ahead and enjoy ur phone.
Sent from my sunken ship xperia s.
I got a bug, after I lock the screen few times, the text line "Swipe up or down to unlock" completed gone unless I reboot the phone (stile can swipe to unlock phone tho).
I have 2 problems and fix it myself as follow:
1. For ppl get status 7 error come with phase "getprop.." while flashing rom : you can either follow this link (highonandroid.com/android-roms/how-to-fix-status-7-error-with-cwm-recovery-on-rooted-android/) or just simply flash the boot.img include in the leak rom (use fastboot mode to flash).
2. At first time, my map wont work, it wont let me get my possition. I have to open App draw > google setting > Location > Let google apps access your location: ON (the location service menu in system setting simply wont work for me )
thanks but need help

There's is just need to wait some time. It's create all indexes of all files. It's not scary.

use xperifirm to download the firmware, pack the ftf with flash tools, create zip with PRFCreator_v0.5 pre-rooted
pack another ftf using flash tools without the system data, user data, TA, Partition to create the stripped ftf
I'm actually downloading the c6906 firmware as its been requested

I follow rule from OP
-but i only flash cache, not full wipe (dont wipe data)
-then i flash a zip.
-turn off, don't boot up. then flash ftf from attch OP
-after finish boot your phone normal. wait until finish boot- says Android Upgrading
-will show notif NFC upgrade firmware
- make sure u have superSU last version form play store before install LL and not integrated with system (installed in data>system), that u no need update superSU again after install, and will u have root with official LL
- after finish u will see your app stay in there, such as games, app, etc
- app not support LL should be uninstall.
- if "update service" force stop, clear data that app.
-done
maybe it help :good:
thanks for the feedback everyone, I'm glad it all works for you guys
