I just received the OTA for my N7 2013 and while setting it up noticed that the smart lock feature is not available. Google Play services build # 6.5.87. Anyone else seeing this? Is Smart Lock cellular only?
I have Smart Lock on my Nexus 7 running 5.0.1.

What version of Play Services are you running? Smart Lock was introduced in 6.5.x but I am not seeing it here.

I have the same Play Services version as you. Smart Lock appears only after you set up a PIN.

I already have a PIN lock in place. Remove it and reenable?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
I would try that. I hope that works for you.

No love on that route here. Disabled pin lock, restarted tablet. Still no smart lock. I don't mind entering a PIN every time, but it would be nice to have trusted places. I have my N5 set to remain unlocked using smart lock @ home. More of a convenience item. Hoping someone else is seeing this and I'm not alone and naked in the wilderness.

Do you have Smart Lock turned on under Trust Agents?

Never mind, figured it out.
I just looked at this new smart luck feature, but it's not usable for me without using WiFi as a trusted device. NFC and Bluetooth only! That's very limited, so hopefully they will add WiFi soon.

I'm curious to this as well. I'm wondering if it'll work with an AC. I have a feeling it won't though.

I have confirmed an app named smart remote for s4 working on controlling my mothers window air conditioner
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I would love to see a truly universal remote app, NO TV guide, no other bloated CRAP, just a app that lets you tell it what kind of IR device you want to control and it says "Ok" and then starts blasting IR commands, and THAT'S IT.
I had a universal touch screen learning remote 12 years ago...why can't my damn $600 smart phone do that now?

Did you have to set it up or did you point it at the ac and click on?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Smart remote works great and the are loads of devices that can be controlled... If yours isn't available, just contact the developer. The only thing the app can't do is "learn", but that is because of the hardware anyway.

There is one.....it's called Smart Remote for Galaxy S4
Does anyone know how to add devices to the app?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The developer(s) behind Smart Remote work FAST! My TV wasn't supported (Sigmac brand) and literally two days after I e-mailed the developer(s) about it, they e-mailed me back saying they had added support. It also works with my Vizio soundbar. Haven't tried my fan yet, though.
As of today the track*ing web*site has gone live. This isn’t the com*plete setup just yet, but for now you can track, ring and erase a lost device from the web

Mine connected instantly, located and rang my phone just fine. My brother has a S3 and he is also having problems, he has multiple devices showing up (which he has).
Even though I hadn't at the time, you could try activating Android Device Manager in Device Administrator by checking the tick box it and trying again. I was using Chrome (which also did the work on my brothers S3 lol)

Very handy if you don't have Cerberus installed - wonder how long til they introduce Cerberus' other features (taking pictures of / filming the schmuck that stole your android etc)
The new XDA app doesn't seem to work well on the new Nexus 7. I get a flash to white screen when the app closes before the launcher appears and the message list font is too small...even when message font is set to large. It also has random freezes and lags when viewing messages. Anybody else experience these issues?

+1 ...XDA PREMIUM feels slower.
XDA HD version is nice I own both .....but I have a feeling they will update this to the new UI too
It is slower loading messages and at times it freezes while scrolling. Even after wiping data and reinstalling. Glad I had the old version backed up so I could revert back.

Yeah, new version sucks. Good idea on going back to the free one.

This has to be an alpha build. This should never have been released. Back to the old.

Update: uninstall and reinstall. All problems fixed. Just have to get use to this new layout.
I've tried uninstalling and clearing data. I get a blanked white screen on half my subscribed topics. I should have backed up my old version. What a disaster this new version is. They should make the old version available to paid users in the Play Store.

Seriously...I just type "dsploit" in Google and BIMMM, I got it, in top research... Do you want we install it for you ? -_-
Anyway, you have to know, you will not be able to "hack" WPA/WPA2 in an interesting time, and WEP are not famous nowaday.
The idea could be to create a hotspot with big company hotspot name (often, ISP have), with auth-proxy, and save the credential in a DB... my point of view.

Agree But it's hard to hack someone's wifi
You can use something called Reaver, it cracks the WPS Pin. And from that you can get the WiFi key. Only problem is... It isn't compatible with all chipsets, and it takes a dependant amount of time. But it does always work if your WiFi card inside your phone is supported.
PS: you must stay in range too.
Thread closed... We aren't here to use XDA to hack passwords... Also, please use search before posting or creating new threads. Plenty of these already in existence.
