i747m no gps - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Trying to fix my gps on my S3 i747m from Telus,
It used to work just fine and no have tried all the common tips to get it working but nothing works.
GPS Test, tells me No Fix, as if the gps isn't even turning on.
I just tried making this work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211690
But I can't get to the service menu, I guess because I just flashed back to 4.3 stock and those codes don't work to get to the service menu??
Does anyone have some other way to reset the gps? Spent all day working on this to no avail

Those codes should work for stock. Irs the stock touxhwiz DIALER thats important. I can get to the service menu with s3rx rom and ktoonses kernel.

Broken GPS! Can't detect or lock on to satellites!

Hey guys,
I got this Samsung Galaxy SIII about a month ago and I don't think I have yet to get a gps lock with this phone. Unfortunately, I didn't try it until after rooting and installing a few different roms.
I unrooted and flashed a stock (bell) rom, factory reset, erase cache, etc. and I still do not know what's wrong with it.
Everything is checked in the "Locations" menu in settings...
I've tried Fasterfix, resetting AGPS from GPS status and GPS test; no dice.
Google navigation just stays in the "searching for your location" screen and it never finds my location.
I've even stayed outside with a clear view of the sky with WIFI and LTE and still couldn't lock on.
I also don't see a GPS icon when it's supposedly in use (my old HTC Desire had this).
I'm kind of speculating whether this is a hardware problem or the GPS somehow got disabled.
I searched and found out there are "secret" codes for the Galaxy SIII, including a GPS menu but it doesn't work with our model, unfortunately.
I'm kind of running out of ideas and trying to avoid sending the phone in. Any help would be great
--------------------------------------------EDIT!!!!!! FIX!!!!------------------------------------
I fixed it!! Special thanks to frelnik for his advice.
After un-rooting and flashing my original firmware/rom I still didn't get my GPS (no icon in status bar).
I rooted again: still no gps notification.
BUT
I flashed graffixnyc's Sprint based rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956463
I immediately checked my GPS through Google's navigation and the GPS showed up again in the status bar. It eventually found my location!!
I nandroid back to my rooted stock rom and it remained! I can now lock on to 11 satellites from the basement of my home!
Special thanks to both graffixnyc and frelnik!

Did you at any point install a Sprint-based ROM?
If it doesn't work after the steps outline above (I had the same problem, and unfortunately that wasn't enough to fix mine), then flash back the Spring ROM you last used and see if the GPS is working. If it is, then use CWM to restore a stock Nandroid backup from before the problems started. That cleared it up for me, and now my GPS is working in all ROMs once again.
Michael
Yeah I have installed a Sprint-based rom.
Unfortunately I have already odin'd to the stock Bell version and factory reset'd, still doesn't work.
Because of that, I don't really have a nandroid anymore, it got deleted.
I'm gonna try rooting and flashing the Sprint one again (it was the one that was released just this month and ported to our version) and see how that works.

I can confirm that 1) Odin back to stock, 2) factory reset from phone's sytem settings will get gps back. I Odin'd back to stock rooted image and did the reset. Now running latest Ariel with gps lock within 5-10 seconds. I had run some of the sprint based roms and didn't even notice it was gone until I was on Serenity. Reflashing ATT rom wouldn't fix. I would assume you could get back to stock/working gps, then restore your backup (assuming not sprint based)
Guys I fixed it! Check OP!

[Q] GPS Not working!

I flashed to a custom rom (MiniTab) and now my GPS doesn't even see any Satellites let alone Fix. Ive tried I few things. Used Gps Status & toolbox to reset my A-GPS XTRA Data/reDownload, didn't work. I also flashed a custom gps.config file, that didn't work either. Im all out if options and could use some assistance. I know tge hardware is fine, GPS runs without problems on Stock ROM.
Its the 4gLTE..... dont know why but when I boot into CDMA only, GPS works without a problem

[Q] Flashing to Fix Gps Non-connectivity

Yo just bought a "new" s3 and the gps doesn't work. I say "new" because i looked at the flash counter before i rooted the phone and it said 1.
Anyways, I read through some of these threads and tried the screw tightening, that didn;t work.
I factory reset the phone, that didn;t work.
Tried topntp, that didn;t do anything..
tried other gps fix apps and nothing.....
I am a little afraid of opening up the phone to play around with gps antenna...
Has anybody found any luck with flashing a stock rom to fix this problem.
Any other suggestions please fill me in. I would really like to have a working gps.
I am running a Samsung S3
i747m
Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - vldmf1
Let me know if you need any more information about the software/firmware

1. Easiest and most reliable way. Try this first!
Enter the Samsung service mode by typing this code into the dial pad *#197328640#
Then go to Mainmenu>UMTS>Common>NV REBUILD>NV REBUILD> (Important: don't exit the menu yet!)
Wait 30+ sec
Long press power button and select "Restart / Reboot"
Now check your GPS from any software that may use GPS like "Maps" or "GPS Status"
Holy ****! You are a genius! That fixed the problem legit!
Whats the logic behind this?

CDMA US Versions Don't flash Roms

So for the past month or so i have been trying to find a working Rom for my SCH-R890 (US Cellular) i have flashed all Roms i can find including cyanogenmod,Pac-mam Rom, and Aviator Rom, non of them work because after flashing I end up with a null imei and a lost of network service. It was very frustrating for me since i broken two phone but thank good for the *228 feature on US Cellular that can restore my setting. After trying to find a solution to this mess i thought that it was my imei but after investigating some more i notice that these rom were for the international version. That when it hit me!! The international version all work on GSM System!!! So that explains why every time you flash a rom on the CDMA phone you loss your imei and phone number and connection. So for the US variants that run on CDMA don't flash any Roms that are for the i9195 because it will leave your phone with no network. I belive if we message the developers of the Roms then they could be able to create a CDMA version of there roms that would work for all CDMA version of this phone:fingers-crossed:

That's what I have tried to do
But it's more of I can't since I can't find my specific modem file because I can't find it anywhere. But if you were to test it your self if you could and provide feedback would be much appreciated
After you flash the ROM connect to WiFi and download advanced signal Status and switch it to CDMA. That's what I did the only issue I'm having is no sound and buttons don't work so I'll searching for a kernel that would fix that for sprint galaxy s4mini. Other than that everything works fine WiFi NFC camera. Everything but sound and back button and menu. So to fix them issues u use on screen buttons

GPS problem after custom firmware

Hi all,
I am a little bit desperated about getting my gps on my LG g3 (D855) working again. Until last month my GPS worked just okay, something it was way off but it was workable I was on stock lollipop after the OTA upgrade from Kitkat. Because of some heating problems and huge performance problems I decided to try a custom rom to see if there was increase and it worked perfectly! I noticed that my signal reception was a little bit troubling and flash some other modems to see if it improved ended with the 20p which was okay After that i tried my gps... and it wasn't able to fix anymore when wifi is on it sees 23 gps in view (GPS Test) but all with "00" signal. When turning wifi off it went back to 9 and sometimes 0. I checked the forum offcourse and found a few solutions:
-Erase modemst1 and 2 by using fastboot, didn't work
-Kitkat stock firmware, didn't work
-Lollipop stock firmware, didn't work
-Exchanged Simcard, didn't work
-Use Top NTP other program which configures gps.conf to the right NTP server, didn't work.
-Recalibrate Compass.. calibration worked but gps doesn't
-Try turning off location service, rebooting device, turning it on.. did't work
-Trying gps only or the with google services, didn't work
-Flashed almost all available modems, all the same results, 0/23 satellites and no gps fix
-Let is tryed to find a fix for like a hour but didn't work.
-Tryed latest CM firmware and Blissrom roms but all the same results.
Do you have any solutions or ideas what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance!!
Kind regards,
Toby
Open GPS Test, press the Menu button, select Update AGPS and try again.
Dear Robogo1982, Thanks for your reply! I tried it but seems not to work i also tryed the clear function and after that the update.
Try it in Flight mode.
Tried it, even with sim removed. It also seems that gsm reception is a lot worse, could it be a mechnical problem?
Flash back to stock using KDZ
