Like many others, I didn't like the cut-off of messages in the new manila interface.
Therefore I will start here a collective project to change this behavior. And I am not sure that we can change it because the solution has to change the code self.
But why not trying?

Problem: The messages (sms) output in the new manila cut off some messages.
Details: I check it a littlebit and don't find a rule. Some messages have more then 3 lines. Some of my messages are cut-off on different positions (from 86-106).
Therefore I also think that this behavoir is not the specification from HTC like some users hear assume.
I mentioned that we first find out, what really goes wrong before we can search in the code.
PS. This is a development thread! Post ratings and comments in other threads, please!

Tests
a) As I mentioned before there is no cut-off after some (3) lines but after some characters. My longest test message have 30(!) lines.
b) It seems to be that the output of a messege demends of the message self, the sender name and the date/time.
c) The output is always cut-off after the same length. Because of different sender and timestamps the messagetext lenght is different (see b).
d) When afterwards the length of the sender name is changed, the output of the messagetext keep the same. Even after a restart nothing changes.
=> There is a fix counter for the length of the whole message. This counter seems to be (HTML-code) 160 characters(!).
I am looking now in the code where the HTML-Output is created and if I here can change this fixed length.

look at the "Help with Link to "All people" page of manila V2" and see who brought the fix.. remember?
on the subject: i wrote to my self a SMS who looked like this:

and so on. even before i applied the fix this kind of message was not "cut". i wrote 12 lines and i was able to see all of them.
then i sent a 5 lines message but with words. this time the message got cut and only after applying the fix i was able to read it.

Sure? This fix change the input field for threaded microsoft(!) messages. I made some other test with this files (also the CSS) and in my ROM it has nothing to do with the manila(!) messages.

Duttys V2.5 appears to have finally fixed this

How fast is the update rate for the GPS position? Can you let people decide for themselve how often it is updated? Because some people want to conserve battery, but on the other hand it is not as precise...
(Less battery consumption <-- vs. --> More precise position)

good to hear that you like it Check your private messages in the TraQ forum for your BETA account details.
The update rate is 1,5 seconds in the mapview, to get the live tracking experience of your friends or employees. When you are in the main menu the update rate is 15 seconds on MPS location updates and when GPS is on and fix it's 1,5 seconds
I already have the option for the user to determine the update rates on MPS, to spare you the battery power. Further more there is also a second application which runs on scheduled times to report your position to the servers and sleep again, pulling as almost nothing from your battery live !!
Must do some more testing with it to release it, but stay tuned.
Also de website wil be in Silverlight technology to view your Trips and some other info.

Btw, check out the TraQCode feature, it's really coOl. Select a contact and send him a code with email or sms or both so he can track you live online.
Next,
If you say the person whom you are sending your traQcode is also your destination, you see the complete route on the mapview including destination distance and ETA information!!
Also check out the resource folder after installation if you want to customize the graphics.
The languages folder contains text files with all languages available. If you translate the english
one to german and to russian we have to more languages available in the app!!

Hello everyone! I am the developer of Prepay Widget, a powerful app that allows you to monitor your account balance through USSD requests.
You can find more info about USSD on Wikipedia, but basically these are short, SMS-like messages used by most GSM and some CDMA providers to deliver information
or control account services. The actual information comes to you in the form of popup toasts, which thids app hides and parses into widgets.

However, i want to stress that its important that we get some device-specific feedback, so please post in this thread if you have issues,
this helps me keep track of bugs and requests better.

As I haven't got one of these phones in my pocket, I need some testers to track down problems. Please, use this thread to comment or
suggest features. It is my belief that addressing issues is best done individually by phone, so if something doesn't work, let me know and I will fix it ASAP.

Debugging:
Please use the "Write to developer" item in the Settings menu to send logs. Enable debugging, reproduce your error and then send the logs.
Make sure you include a description - the more detailed the description the better.

hmnn.. it seems that it wont be able to update on Optus Australia. As you need to send sms to 9999 for usage details ! do you have anything similar to implemented in this or just the USSD commands ?

Yes I'm sure, I received the reply, made 2 indicators and I'm viewing the differences (green/red) between two calls.
Please send a log using Write to developer in Settings. Don't forget to add a description as the logs can be deceptively empty.

This the latest beta firmware of bada 2.0 for the Wave I & Wave II. Samsung has compiled both firmwares on Monday 8th August. Below you will find a short list with some things that has been changed or improved:
- New icon (Sound & vibrate) in the statusbar
- Better Graphics startup screen Chaton app
- Slightly changed keyboard
- New startup screen Twitter app
- Slightly changed Youtube icon (Menu)
- Faster scrolling through photos
- Voice output, you download German test voicefiles. With voice output your device can read incoming sms text messages, email and more. I haven’t test this feature at the moment.
- Can’t log into my Samsung account.
Problems:
With this firmware I faced for the first time some real problems, because it will crash on some (stranges) moments (mainly using the twitter app). I advice you to set the debug level on low, so you won’t get a blue screen with detailed crashlogs instead your device will reboot automatically.
For the ones who are using KIES for backups, I can advice you to backup only the contacts and sms text messaging. I won’t suggest to use a full backup, I’ve tried it 2 times but both times my device crashed and it got stuck into a reboot loop.
Overall I can say that the devices are a bit faster (snappier) but it also crashed often than before. Since this is just a beta firmware its normal that it crashed.
Once again I’m warning people that they should be aware of these things. If you want a stable 2.0 firmware you should wait till 2.0 is ready!!
- How to fix Samsung account problem...
There is a new Samsung Account login in this beta Firmware and it doesnt work, users cannot type in passwort and after klicking on logon bada crashes. But there is a workaround, so everyone can use the downloads in samsung apps.
At the first startup page to configure language time, and samsung account there is still the old login page.
You can trick the wave by removing your simcard starting the phone with it, then it forgets that it was already the first time started.
After that simply add your simcard and logon on the first startup page, after that you will not see in settings/accounts any account but you can use them as always.
Email accounts can be handeled over the settings/email and so on.
You will see Samsung Account over samsungapps.
Things I've seen already:
- much faster and smoother than before
- font much easier on the eyes (clearer)
- bootsplash black again (no blueish like in XPKH1) / dialogs still blue
- the 3 info pop-ups after first-run have been revamped
- several icons revamped
That's nice, but based on what I have read on the SamFirmware changelog, I decided to NOT flash my phone with this firmware, mainly because I don't particularly like (frequent) crashes....
I'll stick to XPKH1 for now...

He did mention its mainly in the new twitter app.... so normal use of the phone should be fine.

Seems SocialHub - at least here - (changed CSC to DBT) doesn't show my set-up Facebook account, though it properly display the feed and posts status updates.
You'll see that it actually added the account by checking feeds or "add account" there facebook won't show up anymore (obviously).
More I noticed:
- phone faster reacts after boot
- you can't switch pages by swiping in the gap between the bottom two rows (on menu, not homescreen)
SamsungApps always tells me "network not available", also I can't see any string in it's UI.

But you're right, Hotfile is very slow generally...I paid for a premium account some months ago, and had been cursing every moment after I did that... Filesonic works for me like a charm for months now.
I also noticed:

Its exactingly the same as all the others. Nothing visually changes at all in the versions it just becomes more stable and less crashes and faster

There are crashes as before. But I was able to restore my yesterday's backup (with Apps ) and some of the stuff worked from the backup. Apps, background, internet connection settings. I tlost however my bookmarks, the homescreen settings, accounts and the ringtones...
But the biggest selling point of this fw is the SPEED. It's much faster. The browser flies compared to the KH1.

Huawei P6 Baidu cloud ROM Brush tutorial
Tips:
1 , there is no experience of Friends of the machine brush machine, please download "Baidu cloud a key Brush tool" brush machine, safe and secure!
2 , phone system or non Baidu cloud systems (factory system, MIUI , or other), only supports wire brush.
3 , the phone system has been Baidu cloud systems, you can choose wire brush (will double clear) or card swipe.

Note: This tutorial is for P6 Mobile brush into Baidu cloud ROM , regardless of the current phone system version is already Baidu cloud systems.
Again: the use of this tutorial wire brush method clears the user data, please backup your data!
Brush preparation:
1, P6 driver installed on the PC and use the phone via a USB cable to connect PC.

2, open the USB debugging:
a) Open Developer Options: Set - "on the phone -" mad Version Details
b) Open the USB Debugging: Settings - "Developer Options -" tick USB debugging
3, close the pea pods and other software, so as not to affect the brush.

1, unpack the downloaded Brush, the following documents:
2, double click to run FlashTool_For_P6.BAT, press any key to start the brush machine, brush script will automatically clear the data (please back up your current phone data!), The whole process takes about five minutes or so, please be patient:

Trying in a moment... Hope it has better perfomance and other languages than China...
From what i read, "baidu" is Chinese company modeled similar to Google and that these Baidu roms they release are optimized for those Baidu services. So I was expecting this rom to have all their Baidu content in it.
Okay, just flashed, everything went fine, lets see how it runs...

Okay... The rom itself runs pretty smooth in home screens and settings. But one big problem is Google apps. They arent included, and when i try to flash newest 4.2.2 jb gapps zip, i cant use phone because it gives google services crashed error popup. When i flash 4.3 gapps zip, it doesnt crash but google play says "no connection". Im trying to find a solution on this, tell me if you know something...
Okay, tested it for a hour. I didnt manage to get gapps working, so this rom is useless for me. From Antutu i got 13700. As i said before, UI worked smoothly, but the phone has still some elements in Chinese, even when i switched system language to English. There was Chinese, Englih and Spanish. With google apps and little perfomance boost (>15000 score) and fully english UI this would be best rom for P6 atm.

Wow, I have just installed this ROM and have played around with it for a while and I must say it is as interesting as hell !!
Very fast and unlike any UI I have experienced. I have not tried to install a gapps .zip as it seems not to work so I tried to install a Google Play Store .apk but for some reason it wont open, maybe some kind of restrictions. All other .apk's install and work fine. I synced my Gmail acct. all good, sycned my contacts (using .vcf file) and all good.
Lots of Chinese stuff I dont understand but I'm having fun just trying everything.
Overall for someone like me who uses my mobile for texting, calling and basic fun stuff this is a really good ROM with some serious eye candy.
If you want to try something really different give this a go.

I had the same problem with Google Play APK. Closing right after opening.

I can't install it. The installer says <waiting for device>, phone just shows the "Huawei Ascend" slpash and nothing happens. Can anyone help me? I really want to check this rom out.

Managed to install it. The rom is really cool. UI is smooth and beautiful. Too bad google services don't work and it is not fully translated.
