Hello there, I have the T-mobile lg g3, I love it but.... I'm not hearing any in call message notifications. When I use the stock messaging app it works perfectly, I will hear a little pop during the call to let me know I have a text. But when I use my third party app (gosms) it does not work. My previous phone was a galaxy s4 and go sms worked perfectly on that, same updated version that I currently have on my lg g3. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Does the lg block third party app notifications? And does anyone have a fix or work around?

I've been using Textra for SMS for a few days now with my new HTC One M8, and have been quite pleased. But some time this afternoon I noticed that when I try to use the voice to text function within Textra, which had been working just fine, my phone makes the sound as if the function is starting, and I think the screen appears for a split second, but is then replaced by the Textra messaging screen, and there is no way to record my voice. The function still works in other apps where it worked before. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Textra, without any luck. Then I looked at the update history and saw that Textra pushed out an update today, so I’m wondering if this update could have broken this functionality on the HTC One M8.
Anyone else with this phone using Textra and experiencing the same thing?
I have already written to Textra support.

I received a response from Textra support. Turns out they --did-- break it. Here's what they wrote:

Just issued an update for that in Google Play, should appear in the next hour or so. Apologies.

I'm on a UK G3, stock and unrooted.
Basically, sometimes when I call someone it will use the LG dialer, as I like. HOWEVER sometimes it uses the stock android dialer...Why does it have both?
With the stock android dialer it screws up my phone, as I can't then multitask as if I leave the screen I can't get back to it... Going back on the phone app takes it to the numberpad to call a new number.
Help?
Cheers
EDIT:
Here's a screenshot of the two dialers. The stock one kept coming up until I restarted, and then it was using the LG one. Why is this happening?
Anyone please help?
No one else experienced this? Seems like it's just me :/
My friend did you install any other dialer application lately?

Nope. Not installed anything to do with contacts, dialer or anything. It just sometimes uses one, sometimes the other. Really odd!
i had the same experience. it happens to me when the incoming call is from hangouts.
so when someone call you via hangouts the android dialer shown up.
I am not 100% sure if it's a configuration issue or a ROM issue. I don't get that many voicemails so I don't know exactly when the problem started (I install about every other nightly - currently running 8/1).
Problem - when someone leaves me a VM, instead of getting the icon alert on the top I get an sms. When I delete the VM or listen to it, I get another SMS. The SMS for new VM looks like this
//VZWVVM.SYNC:ev=NM;id=7;c=1;t=v;s=<phone number of the caller here>;dt=03/08/2015 10:30 -0700;l=9;dev_t=5
The sms for the deleted or listened message looks like this
//VZWVVM.SYNC:ev=MBU;dev_t=5
Any thoughts or ideas as to what could be the cause of this and how to fix it??? It is somewhat annoying.

I too had this issue when running any ROM other than stock ROMs; I came across your post searching for a solution. When I was running CM12.1, I started using a 3rd party for voicemail. There is an app in the Play Store that will redirect your voicemail forwarding number. It was okay and I ended up switching back to stock for the camera.
I'm interested in going back to non-stock, so if anyone has a fix, that'd be great.
I finally gave up on Windows Phone and moved over to Android with a Verizon LG G4. Everything works better except for one thing. When I got a text while I was driving with my old phone my car would announce the text to me and offer to read it and also let me dictate a reply if I wanted to. My LG G4 does not do any of that. I don't know if it's a limitation of Android or of the SMS app.
My phone had Android 5.0 when I got it and now has 6.0. I have tried three or four different SMS apps as my default texting app. None of it makes a difference and I don't know if it's a limitation of the OS or of the SMS app. If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it.
hi,
i didn't get to finish the title. i just got a 5x, and previously have had an n5. both seem to have the same problem with the native android messaging app (used to be messenger, now it's android messages). anyway, if i'm talking on the phone, i get no audible notification of an incoming text. i get them for emails, map directions, etc, but not the texts.
i believe i tried this query a couple years ago, to no avail. i'm just checking to see if anyone knows of a setting i can try to accommodate this simple request, without having to download some third party messaging app.
thanks

When I'm on a call, I get a silence all notifications icon on the top of my phone. I prefer to not hear anything, I'd check in the phone app settings.
