Kodi repos incompatible on Fire stick? - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I sideloaded the Xbmc arm and tried to upload the repos and it say pretty much every repo is incompatable? What did I do wrong? I set Xbmc up the same way I did on the fire andit isn't having any problems.

which version of xbmc / kodi are you using? The exact same thing happened to me few days back on SPMC when I reinstalled it because the previous installation stopped updating addons for some reason. Then I tried the final gotham and helix rc1 releases and the compatibility issue was gone. Once I reinstalled spmc everything was fine. sad part is that I couldnt figure out what the issue was.
you can try superrepo but they have a lot of outdated addons there.

You probably need to "force refresh" your repo. Google for it and give it a go.

Changing from XBMC to SPMC

If I install SPMC from the play store will it coexist with XBMC or overwrite it? If it overwrites does it retain my settings (skins, add-ons, paths, advanced settings.xml, etc).
I just got XBMC set up just the way I like it but I have a weird bug with the fast forwarding that I think I heard was fixed with SPMC.

Use the xbmc backup utility. I backed up to a network drive and then restored to spmc.

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks man.

The file path where all the files xbmc uses changes in spmc from org.xbmc.xbmc to com.semperpax.spmc
If you want to keep all your addons/settings/skin/advancedsettings copy the contents from /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc to /sdcard/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc/files/.xbmc
Make sure to not uninstall xbmc until you install spmc, run it once and copy the proper files over to the new path.
Hope this helps.

Worked perfectly. Only thing I had to do was update my advanced settings xml file to reflect the new spmc path for my thumbnail redirection. Thanks again.

Actually it does...I restored an SPMC install to AFTV coming from my Ouya. Accounts and passwords, I didn't have to lift a finger
Now....it might not work the other way around seeing how castrated FireOS is.
..
Which version of SPMC did you install? I side loaded the new version from the Google Play and I get this error when attempting to launch: "OBB not yet present"
I have XBMC Gotham 13.2 sideloaded, but issue is that I can't output DD 5.1 sound. DTS works fine.
Thanks.

I got it straight from the source: http://spmc.semperpax.com/ v13.3.2 - it installed just fine on mine and took over the launcher as well. That plus rbox's Xposed mod has completely taken care of the convoluted and useless KFTV launcher.
There are Program addons to create shortcuts to launch Youtube and Netflix...so your AFTV can stay in SPMC/XBMC all day long.

Firetv firmware 51.1.4.2 update -- adbFire 1.14 Kodi install problems

Guys, I'm not able to install a new Kodi release with adbFire 1.14 after upgrading the FireTV to the latest firmware! Is there any issue known with the latest Amazon firmware?
adbFire gets connected but the APK installation fails.
Thanks for your help!

I was able to tonight. All services ran considerably smooth considering the hardware. Kodi RC 14 w/ Xmb3c addons. Titan Skin. Slight delay in load times, but no more than would be expected from using any built-in services. I have since uplugged my Fire Tv until I can blacklist DNS when I acquire a new router. In desperate need of root.
Fixed, I did a deinstall of the old Kodi 15 beta and reinstalled Kodi 14 RC3. All works fine again.

Newly rooted aftv having issues with kodi/xbmc

Last week I rooted, downgraded and am running rbox 51.1.4.0_514006420. Since I was starting from scratch I decided to try helix 14.0. After a day or 2 I began having problems opening add-ons. Big problems. Wouldn't open video or program or otherwise. The ui was fast and smooth and samba shares opened and played fine. So I install Gotham 13.2 which is running fine on my other aftv that is further away from router (both are on 5ghz)
But, after a day it was the same problem. Video add-ons wouldn't open. After much trial & error the only thing that worked was uninstalling and starting from scratch.
I use tvaddons with just genesis and few others.
The only difference between my new aftv and the old is the old one has rbox boot menu with latest firmware and new one has 51.1.4.0 updated.
Any theories?
updated new one is running

Need Netflix apk compatible with AFTV Gen 1 Please

Hi! I have an non-rooted first generation Fire TV, and a 3 weeks ago when I started it up, I painfully discovered that pretty much everything other than the main Amazon app were simply GONE. I haven't the faintest clue as to why this happened, but after several attempts to recover the missing apps, etc, I finally resorted to a factory reset. I then re-installed all my previous apps, but only one of them failed every time I ran it: Netflix for AFTV!
Netflix invariably now immediately reports the "UI-800-3" error and it never stops. I followed all the instructions about how to resolve this problem, but it never works. One possibly critical issue is that, after uninstalling Netflix, when I use the main Amazon interface to attempt to re-download it -- or ANY other app! -- any click on any app to download it is totally ignored! No click sound, no response whatsoever!
So I used the "Apk Extractor" app on the Netflix app on my Second Generation Fire TV, and then installed it on the first AFTV using ADBLink, which completed without error. From then on the "UI-800-3" error nightmare began.
So what I need is a Netflix for AFTV apk that's compatible with First Gen Fire TVs running FireOS v5.2.1.1 -- Does anyone have such?
I've seen recommendations to use the APK for Netflix for Android TV, but that hasn't worked out for me.
Kindly help me. Thanks!
I've tried using ADBLink to install the following Netflix apks: Netflix_3.3.5.apk and Netflix_4.0.5.apk
The latter reports that it is incompatible with first generation Fire TVs, so I uninstalled it.
The former tries to run, but again gets infinite "UI-800-3" errors.
So I removed all the DNS blocks that were preventing Amazon updates, and went ahead (very reluctantly) and upgraded to the latest system, v5.4.2 (if I'm recalling it correctly). But Netflix still refuses to run without eternal "UI-800-3" errors!
Furthermore, when I manually navigate around the main Fire TV app looking to download Netflix, it's nowhere to be found! Every other app shows up and allows downloading EXCEPT Netflix!
What the hell is going on?

Happened a while back. Netflix is only allowing the most recent version of their app to access their service. And those more recent versions only run on FIreOS 5. So you need to look thru this forum to the numerous ways to upgrade your FTV1 to FireOS 5. It's that simple.
I performed yet ANOTHER full reset and ANOTHER system update until no further updates were available, and finally, Netflix appeared and installed fine. Happily, it works fine!
I haven't submitted enough posts yet that I'm allowed to post external links, but I will be posting the working Netflix apk in another thread, here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/help/netflix-apk-compatible-aftv-gen-1-please-t3628174
I updated to the latest prerooted rom by rbox (jan 8 2018) on fire tv 1 and now can't find Netflix.
I had it before upgrading I was way back at os3, 51.1.1.0 or something and saw it under settings all apps, cleared it's cache and data, then uninstalled. Now when I search for netflix it doesn't find anything. Tried resyncing my purchased stuff under my account and still don't see it. Should I try and reflash the rom now that I've removed my old netflix apk?

An update: I got my answer in a similar board from @Sizzlechest :
"I just installed Netflix on my rooted Fire TV 1 with the latest OS and Netflix works fine.
EDIT: Here's a link to my Netflix APK: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjlFvM-kUCwh_VrvNbHA-1xdlIx0 "
Hi
Would you mind posting the netflix apk as I have the same issue
I just extracted this today: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjlFvM-kUCwhgP8UnX0ZLA7WOenuDw

The latest FireTV Netflix is fully compatible with FTV1's as long as they are on FireOS 5. The latest FireOS 5 FW the better. If you are having a problem getting it to work Please be more specific on what FW you are on.
Saw your other post. Answered on there too. Bottom line: FireOS 5.
Thanks for your reply!
I performed a system update to my first-gen FireTV, and it is now running FireOS vv5.2.4.1
More to the point, I found a Netflix apk that is compatible with my first-gen Fire TV and finally works correctly! But it's a pretty old version, v2.3.10 build 268. Anything newer fails to run correctly, either refusing to run with "not compatible with your device" message, or constantly returning "UI-800-3" errors.
I very much wish to make it publicly available, but I'm too new to the forum to be allowed to post links. I'll rack up a few more posts and then try to post it later.
Here is the Gen-1 compatible Netflix for AFTV
Although this is rather old version of Netflix for the Fire TV, it's the most recent version that works correctly on my First Generation AFTV, which is running FireOS 5.2.4.1
No later version will work. Here it is...

If you are on FireOS 5.2.4.1 & you can't run the latest versions of Netflix then you have a problem. The only time I've had an issue like that was when I manually deleted the mbcache file on FireOS 3 due to the running out if space bug.
You might need to reconfigured your device thru TWRP. Are you Rooted or not?

I've went back and forth with Netflix and they suspect it's the old version of the application that is my issue. I am also running Fire OS 5.2.4.1 and every time i push a version of App Store or download, it's 2.3.10 build 268. I've done factory resets, you name it and it will ONLY download this exact version which according to Netflix is too old to work.
Can I install and run FireOS apks on Andriod box like s905x? I tried downloading and it gives UI-800-3 errors.
Is there something I have to change for it to work on other android boxes?
