Any way to lock phone via screen with Nova Launcher?

Seems with the stick LG launcher you can lock the phone by double tapping the screen which is very nice. Downside is you cannot put widgets on the bottom row where I usually put my sms and phone icons at. I've always used Nova Launcher but now with Nova Launcher the tap to lock does not work which means you have to lock the screen by the button on the back which is a majour pain since I always hit the volume buttons by accident. Anyone have any suggestions on this? I'm open to other launchers and also haven't rooted yet but plan to over the next couple of weeks. Thanks a bunch.

Double tap the status (notifications) bar

Install program screen off and assign double tap shortcut to it.

With LG Stock Launcher you can double tap anywhere to lock the device. When using nova just double tap the notification and it will lock.
That would work on screen that is showing.

As someone above said, install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Then in Nova Launcher go to settings and select the gesture for Double Tap to launch the Screen Off app.
Also, gestures are only supported in the paid version of Nova Launcher as far as i know.

Can you double-tap for screen on as well? I'm loving this feature on stock.

G3 Tweaks also lets you turn off the screen by double tapping the navigation bar (or at least the blank portions of it). It makes for a bigger target than the notification bar.

Is there a way to change what apps you can launch from the lock screen?

Is it possible to remove the shortcuts on the lock screen? Extremely annoying when you launch apps instead of unlock your phone.

You know you don't have to touch the lock icon right? You can literally swipe the very top of screen to unlock.

In order to change the lock screen, you need to change the apps on the Sense home screen bar. I just tested. Delete the apps from the bar at the bottom of the Sense Home screen and that will remove them from the lock screen.

Changing lock screen shortcuts when full-device encryption and smartlock are enabled

I have enabled FDE on my G4. This makes it impossible to switch back to swipe or any other lock screen type that would allow me to change apps shortcuts on said lock screen. That's ok if you always have the PIN code keypad displayed on the lock screen but if Smart Lock is enabled and there is no need to enter a PIN, the default lock screen and apps shortcuts are shown. I can't modify these since the settings app considers that it is not relevant to my screen lock type and doesn't show the Shortcuts option.
Is there any way to launch the lock screen apps shortcut activity manually?

Yes!
Change the screen lock to Swipe. This is the only way it'll show the shortcuts option!
After you set the shortcuts, set the pattern or any other unlock method again, and the shortcuts will stay
Nevermind. Just read you can't change to swipe.
Oops.

You need to launch a specific activity of the lock screen settings app. I used Tasker and the Secure Settings plugin. The app name is 'Lock Screen Settings' (not 'com.lge.provider.lockscreensettings'). The activity is called '[Shortcuts].ThemeSetting'. Launching that will open the screen where you can edit the shortcuts.

Same problem here, thanks for the tip. For me secure settings complains that it doesn't have permissions.

Try this:
- disable smart lock completly and choose swype as unlock option
- go out of settings
- enter settings again and go to "lock screen"
now there should be the option to edit the shortcuts. After that just enable smartlock again. I remember that i did it like that but i don't have a FDE.

Lock screen problem

Hi everyone,
Huawei is no longer allowing to use custom launchers (Nova in my case) without activating the default lock screen (PIN)??
It's showing the message that only default launcher can be used if I disable the default lock screen.
Is there a way to bypass this?
I want to use Nova Launcher and Next lock screen. But then the Face ID and Finger Print unlocks don't work. I'm forced to enter the PIN.
