[Q] Can't root phone (Status 2) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I attempted to root my phone using the instructions [HOW TO] Root T989 and T989D! TWRP+CWM! JB+ICS+GB! EASIEST METHOD!
At Step 16 I receive a failure error message "Status 2".

You're fine. In twrp, reboot-->system and it'll ask you if you want to root. Just say yes and it'll reboot into your rom. Download whatever su you want from the play store.

Can't flash kernel kexec or multirom on Nexus 7

I have a rooted and unlocked Nexus 7 with TWRP recovery, and I'm trying to install multirom, but first I have to install the kernel kexec with hardboot patch, but when I try flashing the kernel, it says "Zip Install Complete" at the top, and "Failed" in red at the bottom. When I check the log, it says
Updating partition details...
Installing '/sdcard/kernel_kexec_42-2.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/kernel_kexec_42-2.zip'
Updating partition details...
I'm not sure what's wrong or what to fix, but I suspect it has something to do with the MD5 file missing.
When I try skipping kernel thing, and just jump to flashing multirom, it gives me the exact same message, but with the multirom file name instead of the kernel file name.
Please help!

same problem!! did you find a solution?

Cannot Flash MIU.us ROM

Hello,
I just downloaded the MIUI.us ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056460
and was coming from the Wicked Rom so I backed up everything, factory restored, then wiped everything but when I go to install the ROM,
it gives me the "FAILED" error report and these are the last few lines it shows:
"Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "
E: Error in /external_sdcard/ROMS/Miui/Tmobile 3.1.11.zip (status 7)
Error flashing zip '/external_sdcard/ROMS/Miui/Tmobile 3.1.11.zip
Updating partition details...
"
I have tried extracting the tmobile 3.1.11.zip and it extracts fine so the file isnt damaged, so I dont know what the problem is!
Thanks
Update recovery.
And if recovery is updated, redownload the the ROM and md5 check it

[Q] Error while trying to update OTA or using SD card method

When trying to update I get the following error. I need a clean copy of the dexdump file for Sprint Galaxy S3 on v 4.1.2 (MD4)
Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Also, what is the easiest way to copy it to the phone?
Verifying current system…
“/system/xbin/dexdump” has unexpected contents.

[Q] Error flashing zip (lollipop)

sorry if this has already been answered but after downloading the lollipop update i am taken into recovery and when i try to flash the update file it instantly fails after saying
mount: failed to mount /dev/block....
E: error executing updater binary in zip
i am rooted obviously with s-on
I had the same issue. Flashed with nandroid backup using TWRP. Don't root if asked afterwards. Flashed correct recovery for that backup. Update and it should take.

error executing updater binary

trying to flash a cyanogenmod rom onto my rooted phone with TWRP.
Everything okay up to the point on installing the new rom (a zip file).
here's what i get as an error message:
***********
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/<rom_name_here>.zip'
error flashing zip
updating parition details...
...done
****************
I've tried with all the recent cyanogenmod builds for the htcone m9 and I get the same error everytime. Even when i try to sideload from my computer in adb.
I've also seen this error in other forums and they have suggested doing certain wiping procedures and reboots, but I've tried them all and I've gotten nowhere.
any ideas?
