I'm pretty much at my breaking point with this company. Between empty promises, botched hardware and being the last of the majors to even release the new technology, let's just state what goes without saying: AT&T should rename themselves to iPhoneT&T because they've apparently bet the farm on that overrated piece of crap and in turn have thrown their Windows Mobile business clients under the bus.
No amount of excuse makes sense or matters any more. The iPhone 3GS has been on the market for plenty of time. If someone was gonna buy it, they'd have bought it by now. If they were waiting for WinMo 6.5, they could have released it as an update rather than making their clients wait while every other major phone company released it. Not to mention the fact that the "consortium" of US carriers have kept HTC from releasing unlocked versions for U.S. consumers. God forbid they didn't get their over-charging grubby hands on a few extra shekels. For the love of everything sacred, HTC is already leaking the HTC Leo and I have yet to see a TP2 outside of a T-Mobile showroom!
AT&T has lost it's focus and I'm at the point where waiting for them to get off their sorry butts to release a phone (of which they're going to screw up the hardware, let's be frank) has become a near impossibility and I'm about ready to jump ship.
That leads me to two questions: Who's with me and where the heck should I go?
Hey I feel your pain I am still using the Hermes from 3 years ago. I really want this phone but I can't do Sprint (Not enough custom ROM's etc) and Verizon well they just totally suck!! T-mobile is an option but coverage isn't that great here and there is no 3G and I have heard the sound volume is sucky on that one for some reason.
So I am stuck for now. As far as the whole 6.5 thing it really doesn't matter to me because I would just be using a custom ROM from here anyway but I really have no choice but to wait
While the Leo looks bad as hell I think its the first time I have actually thought hmmm maybe that phone is just too damn big for me lol
They've got the iDud and all the money and glory that goes along with it, do you think they give a crap about the Touch Pro 2?

Just my personal experience and I told myself long ago I would never give them my money again because of the things they do.
Most of their phones you can't send files like pics and ringtones via bluetooth because that profile is taken out. Alot of phone have GPS locked and WIFI taken out etc.
Again thats just my personal opinion.

They used to do those things, that's true, but no more, all their smartphones (and regular phones) come with all features (like GPS, Bluetooth OBEX, etc.) intact and ready for use. They have also released ROM updates for many devices, like the original Touch Pro and Omnia that unlock the GPS on them. They said they'd do it, and they did, I am surprised but pretty happy they have
Thats probably true but at this point its the principle of the matter because I have way too many options in my area. Besides they are also the most expensive.
We've got 5 carriers, AT&T (formerly Edge Wireless here, an AT&T affiliate), Verizon, US Cellular, Metro PCS and as of this summer/fall, T-Mobile, who is just building out in our area. In terms of actual coverage, it goes like this-
1.US Cellular
2.Verizon
3.AT&T
4.Metro PCS
5.T-Mobile (they are just building out, hence the low rating).
Sprint and Nextel have licenses to serve our area as well, but have never built out a network here. Sprint roams on US Cellular, and Nextel phones are just dead paperweights.

Oh it's obvious that they don't give a crap about it. My problem is that they want to have their cake and eat it too. "We don't give a crap about Windows Mobile users and we'll release the phones we're going to whenever we darn well please, but we want to be sure that HTC doesn't give people the opportunity to buy it before we make it available."
The fact that they keep the manufacturer from releasing an unlocked version that will work here is criminal. It's almost a cellular monopoly but in the sense that the carriers have gotten together as a team in an effort to remove choice from the consumer. They can claim all they want that you can still buy one from the manufacturer but that's like saying you can only buy a Porsche in the US from a Porsche dealer. If you order one from overseas, not only will you pay significantly more, we're also going to replace the engine with one from a 1987 Ford Escort.
Why can't we just buy the phone we want from whoever we choose and let that be that. I still have to pay for service any way you cut it. They can't be making THAT much money of the device itself anyway!

Not me.
I'm cruising along just fine on my Kaiser till AT&T gets the Tilt 2 like they want it.
Everything I've read leads me to believe it's a great device and worth the wait. If I get 2 years out of a Tilt 2 like I have my Tilt 1, it's all good.
I'm with you. Hopefully I'll be saying byebye to AT&T today...Once my TP2 arrives..
I don't mean to be a little rough but STOP WHINING AND TAKE ACTION!
I felt exactly as you did and changing carriers wasn’t really an answer. After all, by buying from any carrier you are supporting HTC and the local carriers who arrange/force HTC not to release phones with US 3G bands.
The ONLY way this is going to change is if the customers (YOU) change.
Personally, I have decided I will NOT sign any 2 year commitment and I will NOT be forced to buy a data plan, and I will NOT support HTC who is allowing ATT and others to bully them into not releasing world phones with US 3G bands.
The solution is simple, buy from a company who DOES NOT DO THIS. Personally, I went with the Samsung Omnia 2. If that is not your cup of tea, look at Nokia’s or even the Sony X2 which is due out soon. Support the companies that are releasing phones with US 3G bands.
The only way the local carriers are going to change (or HTC) is if enough of us speak with our money and take our business elsewhere. That is the only way things will change. Whining about it on a forum isn’t going to have any effect.
Good luck to you and I hope you do speak with your wallet by taking your business to other phone manufacturers.
While I'm certainly not enjoying the wait to upgrade my 8525, I don't really see the issue with them waiting for WinMo 6.5. Sucks for me, but then I know the carrier is going to fully support it. Are all the other carriers going to have 6.5 upgrades ready and waiting on Oct 6th?
Also I feel like I'm in the minority, but my experience with AT&T has been great. Their 3G coverage in my area is fantastic. I'm not a big fan of AT&T as a company, but I have a hard time arguing with the service I receive.
My first post.
I've been waiting on ATT for what seems like forever. Think I'm going over to Sprint in a week or two so I can try out both the TP2 and the Hero then decide which one I want. Not to mention the monthly cost will be significantly reduced compared to ATT.
Have a newb question. I know there is a different hardspl for the Sprint version, that isn't out yet as far as I can tell, but once hardspl is out will all the roms, software, etc. for the other versions work on the CDMA version? If not I might be stuck waiting on ATT and paying too much for service.

Let's see, you don't have a TP2, don't even have an HTC phone, and are advocating that all of us also refuse to buy HTC altogether so WTF are you doing here in a forum dedicated primarily to HTC phones? It seems to me that if you really were serious about your little boycott you would put your money where your mouth is and "take your business elsewhere."

i think the main reason att hasnt released the touch pro 2 is that their network isnt ready to handle all the data the will be running on those devices, they have already alot of activity from the 3gs , also they are waiting to release it with windows 6.5 so that will be a plus because it will be definite that it will be fully supported, just my .02

Ditto, Verizon (coverage and unlocked GSM sim card), sprint if they have good coverage in your area (4G),
I would have jumped ship if not for the fact that it would cost me a minimum of $30/month more on any other carrier compared to my grandfathered plan.
So in the meantime my Tilt is enough to keep me going, though my patience is very thin at this point. I just want to know a release date (price too would be nice). That would at least make the waiting more bearable knowing when it would end.
Leave AT&T cause they release a phone 2 months after others? Doubly a solid reason.
I like AT&T, I like their prices (I pay $20 for unlim internet, + $70 for 2 phones (700 mins)). Plus their rollover feature is cool, I got like 4.8K minutes accumulated (way too much I know).
Plus their customer service is awesome, they've repeatedly forgiven me $200-$300 on my account when I went way out of limit (about 4 years ago). My friend with Verizon was so jealous.
Just hang tight, AT&T's tilt 2 will be out in Nov '09.
i just got back from the att store in Lexington ky off richmond rd and the rudest jerk would not sell me the tilt 2 unless i got a data plan, even if i paid full price! What the heck! I hate freakin att, it took all I had not to pop this blond haired dude just for how rude he was to me and my wife. I told him I'll just get it off ebay and he said they would detect it and automatically add data plan.
My wife is eligible for early upgrade and she has an iphone w/ data plan
Shouldn't I be able to get her to get the tilt 2. They will de-activate her iphone, then when she gets home put my old sim in tilt 2 and have her re-activate her phone. Is this possible or no. Please help
I don't want to pay for a stupid 30 a month data plan data plan, i only want the wifi use.
ATT is much more proactive about checking IMEI's now than they used to be. As a result, upon placing your sim in the Tilt 2, you will very likely receive a text message informing you that if you do not add a smartphone data plan to your phone, one will be added for you.
One possible, and I stress POSSIBLE, way around this is to use an unlocked TP2 from another carrier, or the int'l unbranded version. It won't have 3G, but it may not get flagged as a smartphone because most carriers only have their own phones in the IMEI database that they use to check for this sort of thing. So while they would detect the Tilt2 and charge you for a monthly data plan, they might not detect an unlocked branded version from VZW or Tmobile or the unbranded international version as a smartphone.
I'm sorry the dude was rude, and I'm not super fond of ATT (or other carriers for that matter) either, but based on my experience and that of some other users I know, I believe his information is accurate. We used to be able to get away with a lot more than we can now.
Best way to go without paying for data these days is prepaid (though prepaid plans like VZW's which include for example, unlimited data, don't allow smartphones for fear of abuse. I haven't heard of ATT's prepaid rejecting smartphones because their prepaid data packages are per mb--no danger of abuse).

That sounds good in theory, and would work out pretty well for OP since he isn't concerned about 3G capabilities.
When you log into your AT&T wireless account, AT&T attempts to detect your phone and displays it on screen for you. When I was using unlocked phones on their network (i900 Omnia for a year and most recently for 3 days, T-MO's Touch Pro 2), it never detected/displayed my phone.
I just logged into my account now to check if it detected my new AT&T branded Tilt 2, and indeed it did.
Not to spam OP, but if you're interested in a T-Mo Touch Pro 2, I have one listed in the Marketplace. Good luck!
Thanks for your sympathy
Thanks for your sim-pathy (sympathy), It is good to know I'm not the only one angry about this.
It would sure be nice to have a 3.5 jack with an unlocked verizon or sprint version, but I'm just not sure how not having 3g band would effect my signal. Years ago I remember having sprint service and it was horrible where I live.
You are wondering how it would affect your carrier edge data signal? I thought you only wanted to use wifi?
If you are worried about how it would affect your regular GSM phone signal, I can't imagine that would be problem. I believe the GSM chip is the same in all versions, and would expect similar performance from all TP2s that have it.
To date, I haven't yet heard of an unlocked Sprint version working on US GSM carriers (possibly due to some software protections they added in). Unlocked VZWs have been proven to work on ATT. If you want the 3.5mm jack, maybe VZW or Telus would be your best bet.
thanks for the tip
I did not know unlocked sprint versions would not work on US gsm, thanks for the tip. I'm going to start searching the threads for people who have got the unlocked Verizon's to work before I buy.
I was not for sure if the 3g just carried data, thanks for clearing that up. If that is all it adds I won't miss it because, "i really only use wifi".
or maybe just hold out for the hd2.....don't know if I can stand using my backup Motorola phone much longer *my htc trinity drowned ......
There is an alternative
You may try to purchase a phone from T-mobile and they won't limit you to having a data plan especially if you pay full price. I've seen many do it, and many succeed. Good Luck
lol, get the phone with the data plan. go home, call at&t and tell them you've changed your mind and dont want the data plan. have your old phone's imei around and tell them your going to use your old phone. done. i've done it multiple times. no use arguing with those idiots at the store; most of us here know more about phones than they do
xda kindness

Lots of us have, but you should note that not all the old tricks work anymore. IMEI checking occurs much more often now, not just when you call in.
Are you looking to just not have a data plan period for her phone? The Smartphone/PDA data and iPhone data are the same price.

I don't understand how he was being rude at all. If he can't sell it to you without those conditions then it certainly isn't his fault. I work at RadioShack and the system we use will not allow us to sell smartphones without adding data either. Not sure how this applies to phones bought outright but all sellers do things a little different. Don't be upset at the associate, be upset at att and the rest of the carriers who also require this.
Actually, according to the rep I had, it seems more along the lines of the phones official launch being today that is the issue from the store side. Since its so new they're not, at least the regular associate isn't, allowed to sell the phone sans contract.
Needless to say my shackles are back on
Considering the amount that shipped out to some stores if his store was any indicator it wouldn't surprise me. How do you only send 3, with one to be set for display purposes?
RE: att rep
I never blamed this guy for the rules this att rep he had to follow, that is not what ticked me off. This had nothing to do with what ticked me off
From the second I walked into this store he was the most sarcastic punk ever, and took it personal that I was trying to get this great htc phone without a data plan. He treated me like I was trying to steal it. I was very polite and I doubt he even knew that I was the least bit upset.
Just got back from an At&t store myself. Rep said the same thing and was also a jerk. I couldn't purchase the phone by itself. I'm not due for an upgrade yet so I was trying to buy the phone full price.
The rep was asking me why I wanted the phone. He said its horrible, it useless, he had a Fuze and gave it away because of how bad it was. He uses a BB and iPhone (BIG SURPRISE). He said I was probably the only person asking for the phone the whole day and thats why they didn't have a display model, because no one wants this phone. He said "Why do you want a windows phone, its windows!!!! Haha, c'mon!"
I was screaming inside. If the jackass had any technology knowledge he would understand why I wanted the phone. The possibilities are endless. I'm running TomTom, Wifi access point, internet sharing, mp3 trimmer, push e-mail, Skyfire, DirecTV NFL Superfan Streaming, registry edits, etc. I know a BB and iPhone can also do some of these things but they CAN'T DO ALL.

Most of the people in the stores are just typical sales people. They have bad attitudes, and think they know everything because of their "training". Just remember that they are trying to make their commission off of you. Every time I call customer service I make a point to complain about the sales people in the stores. Once, I went in to a store and asked for a new SIM card, and the jerk didn't want to give me one because I was not buying something. I asked for a manager, and she was a b***h about it too and told me that the SIM cards cost them a lot of money. She told me to go to the RadioShack down the road and get one (and they wanted to charge me $25 for one). I just stopped going to the stores all together. If I need a new SIM card, I call customer service and request one to be shipped to me. My advise.... Stay away from the stores!!!!
If they are so into earning their commissions one would think they would want to sell a $549 phone at full price, no?
I work for Best Buy Mobile and indeed AT&T does automatically add the data plan once the IMEI for smartphones is detected in their database but this does not mean you can't buy the phone outright.. that's where the guy was wrong. I don't know if he would get a lesser commission if he sells without an activation or whatnot.
Hello everyone new to the forums and hopefully will soon be a proud owner of an xerpia play. I just had a few questions. I've been with Boost Mobile for a few years and have finally decided to step up to a contracted phone plan. So with my company discount the price for a family plan with 2 lines on AT&T and the price for a family plan on Verizon are about the same so then it comes down to the phones themselves. I've looked around online and have found that there different but there the same, so if any one has experience with/or knows which one is the better choice please let me know. Thanks!
EDIT: and I am leaning towards AT&T because for a few dollars more I get 3gb of data instead of 2gb with Verizon. And sorry I put this in the General category I thought I hit Q&A.

Well, you really need to ask around in the area in which you live and/or work (whichever one you will use the phone in most) to see how the actual service is. Where I live, Verizon beats all comers hands down for signal, both for calls and 3G. In fact, my daughter works for an AT&T Call center, and almost everyone working there has a Verizon phone.
I'm curious as to why you're leaving Boost. They use both AT&T and Verizon's towers, so it's probably not going to be much difference in terms of service area. I know their phone selection is somewhat limited. but you can always root them, remove the bloat and update the phone according to what's been dev'd. For example, my daughter's friend has a Samsung Galaxy Prevail which majorly sucked until I rooted and debloated it. There are several ROMs available for it, but already she's so much happier because she can install what she wants now and the phone overall is much more responsive.
Thanks for replying, I live in south Texas and really Verizon and AT&T are about the same with signal strength. So if the plans, service, and pricing is all about the same I still think it comes down to the phones. Some reviews I read said that the buttons on the AT&T Xperia Play 4g felt a little sturdier then the Verizon Xperia Play. So just seeing if anyone has experience with both to say either they are the same or one is better then the other.
Actually for a cheap phone/plan I love the Prevail. Thanks to shrinkage I'm down to $40 a month. I rooted my phone and removed all of the bloatware from it, I thought about modding it but decided against it. Really the reasons why I want to switch is #1 have a better phone I can keep myself entertained with while its slow at work or while waiting somewhere, #2 Even though you get Rev-A 3g with boost steaming from google music and watching videos on Youtube rarely works (but pandora most of the time works good...), #3 I drive alot back to my home town to see friends and family which is around a 9 hour drive...with boost about 80% of the drive I dont get service so in case anything were to happen I would not be able to get ahold of any one.
If you take part in the modding community, I recommend not getting the Verizon PLAY, it gets updates far more slowly and it's harder for devs to mod it
I vote AT&T as CDMA is more like the plague.
But I'm using a 800i Play on Tmo so I'd vote Tmo over AT&T.
But out of the original 2, AT&T.
As much as it pains me to say this, go with the AT&T Play, it is getting more modding action than the Verizon CDMA Play.
With a GSM phone, it's also easier to carry things from phone to phone, given the SIM card. Verizon, being CDMA, doesn't have this option, unless you're using an international phone, such as the HTC Incredible 2. There's a point for AT&T.
However, I've always heard that AT&T sucks with their customer relations.
I received my LG G4 in the mail on June 2 via Verizon pre-order. After briefly going through the various features, I noticed that Themes, Smart Settings, and User Profile options were not on my phone. I contacted Verizon who responded by stating that I have a faulty phone or that Verizon removed those features (depending on who I talked to). I compared my phone to a Sprint version while at Best Buy today and noticed that these features are not missing from their phones. I then went to the Verizon store who confirmed that those features are not on their version of the phone (VS986) and that I would be responsible for a $50 restocking fee if I were to return it. LG customer service also claimed that the phone's features varied by carrier. So. . .I am either stuck with a reduced feature phone if I were to remain with Verizon or pay $50 and go with another carrier within 12 days (14 day return window) and get an LG G4 phone that actually has its advertised and reviewed capabilities. I am trying to determine if there are more features missing to facilitate making a decision as well as considering third party apps to compensate. Anyone else in the same boat?
I would just go to YT and check other people videos out on the LG G4 Verizon model to make sure its not there either. If there not then I would just tell them to wave the $50 fee and switch carriers.
I found your thread while looking for the same information. I was looking for those features on my new verizon phone and they are missing. I am going to root the #*@$ out of this phone as soon as I can. I'm so sick of verizon, if they didn't have the best coverage in my area I would bail in a heart beat.
I noticed this from the G4 section of Reddit. Some of those owners filed a complaint with Verizon and was able to get a full refund without a restocking fee.
Verizon ALWAYS does this. They strip off LG, HTC and Samsung browsers as well as whatever feature or app they want. I guess so they can load their bloatware bs and not eat too much memory..who knows. I despise Verizon
I'm new to Verizon and gave the carrier the benefit of the doubt that the omission of these features was a temp mistake. Now I am leaning towards t-mobile pending the status of their version that I will check tomorrow. I don't see why the features are removed. Did Verizon save money or something by getting a "cheaper" version from LG. . .not sure what their motive could be. Hopefully they will receive some backlash from customers and LG (if possible). I posted a negative review on Verizon's page a few days ago (which hasn't been approved yet) as well as asked why these features were not included on their version.
It won't affect Verizon. They've always butchered phones this way. ..
I ran my Verizon S4 rooted from day 1, i forget about all the stupid crap they do to the phone. I can't wait to strip all the verizon crap out of it and run a nice custom rom on this phone.
Not that big of deal for me personally didnt buy the phone for those features, honestly didnt know they were missing till now
Great info, I knew something would be missing. Ever since my Fascinate its been like this. That's why I turn to this community and root all the things!

i havent seen profile changing on mine? wonder if its missing. how would i check those features?
besides in a way isent it better, this way less stuff verizon puts on it, more smoother the phone can run

Better? How does stripping LG features equal less stuff Verizon puts on the phone? This phone is NOT short on Verizon bloat, only LG apps and features that most everyone else has.
I just switched from Verizon to T-Mobile about a month ago and this is one of the reasons why. I got tired of the massive amount of butchering, bloat and removing features they do to the phones. My T-Mobile still has some bloat on it but not the obscene amounts that Verizon slaps on their phones.
So yes, it is normal for Verizon to remove features from their phones.
There are some wifi and network settings missing that I have seen referenced on other carrier G4's.
What a load of crap.

Wasn't aware of the other missing features. Since, coverage isn't that significant of a factor for me (coming from Virgin Mobile), I am going to return my phone (and my wife's) and get at least one fully featured G4 through another carrier. And I thought that coverage, cost (plan, access), insurance, promotions, etc were sufficient factors to consider when I made this purchase. Now I have to factor in removal of a phone's features relative to the carrier. No likey.

Add LGs browser and tasks app to that list. Welcome to Verizon, this is normal here
I am contemplating on getting this phone on verizon in August and waiting for Developers on here to find an exploit and/or a way to unlock the BL or to switch to T-mobile and have them pay off my phone balance and ETF. The problem I'm having is the cost difference. My wife would have to switch to a single line because she would likely stay with verizon. Right now, we share 10gb a month on two lines and we are only paying 160. I have my phone on Edge and so we get $25 off a month plus I receive a discount through my employer. Basically it will cost us more for me to switch to T-Mobile than for me to compromise on this Verizon feature stripped G4. I've even contemplated getting a Z3V or HTC One M9. But I am leaning more towards just settling for the VZW G4.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

Verizon strips every non Nexus Android phone of features. They also don't mess with Iphones because they can't. I was surprised that the Note 4 didn't appear to be missing much, but the S6/G4 more than made up for that with as much as they've stripped. If I had another option for a carrier (especially t-mobile) then I would go elsewhere and not hesitate. I have tried Sprint and AT&T, both have beyond poor coverage in my area (Sprint doesn't even have 4g, they borrow other peoples towers here) so I'm stuck. I am hoping T-mobile finds a way to get some coverage here, but it isn't likely.
Nobody can make a decision for you, but if you have coverage options, consider yourself lucky =p
Yeah I live in south eastern michigan around Ann Arbor. Kevin the tech ninja who reviews tech on YouTube now actually lives in SE michigan as well. I've talked with him a little bit and he switched to T-mobile and is pretty happy with it.
But I am thinking I could do without the extra features for a while. Then when the boot loader is unlocked, the likelihood is high, then slowly I'll be able to get some of those features back or some added ones that can replace them. I have been looking to buy a phone that I wouldn't have to root and flash roms on. But my thinking is software is updatable and can be changed. Hardware can't be changed. At least not yet.

I have an FRP locked Pixel 2 XL suspected to be a Verizon variant. Is there anything I can do? I don't care about the data on the phone. :fingers-crossed:
I did try "fastboot format /dev/block/platform/soc/1d4000.ufshc/by-name/frp " but the path name is too long for the raw command.

If you can't toggle OEM unlocking on, then there's not a thing you can do to unlock the bootloader unless an exploit is found. Given it's been over 2 years of people trying, it seems highly improbable at this point
From my personal experience I didn't have a choice but I also did you not do my research prior but I had to get a new phone ASAP and I have been looking into the pixel phones at a distance basically but checked out their tech specs and everything and well I have been a previous owner of Nexus to be exact ly the Galaxy Nexus which multiple people have tried to tell me that they never made a Samsung Galaxy Nexus but I can actually pull up all their shattered screens but I can pull up the old phones and show them but that's all besides the point and forgive me but I have Verizon as my carrier which used to be a grandfather implant on the unlimited data until they paid enough lawyers to find a legal way to get out of that with everybody completely because I stepped in on my parents' plan and they had been with Verizon before they were known as Verizon and the only way I could get my phone rooted and everything was because the original Pixel 2 XL that I had gotten it had to misfortunate accident and I had to go through the insurance granted it cost me $200 but I got it and before I did anything else besides pulling out of the box I went started up got in got everything going with no accounts no nothing no Google account no anything set up and the option to unlock OEM and developer options was lit didn't and as soon as I did that I plugged in the fast food completely unlocked it and had no worries I mean I didn't really want my phone to go bye bye out the window because my friend's kid tossed it out the window on the freeway but quote-unquote accidents happen and unfortunately it cost me $200 on top of what I paid for the phone out right through Verizon but again it was worth it as I was able to root my phone even though there's not really much options because they came out with Android q and about the only good ROM that I could see cuz I've tried all the wrongs for Android keys that are out that are customized and I continue to run the pixel dust because it's been the most solid and best one that I can find will pretty much the only good one I can find so I wish you luck and well my phone when I got it the Pixel 2 XL originally it was already a year old and no exploits or anything were ever found that I know of in the one next voice that they had were too old for me to use because when I got my phone it probably at that point was but they tried to set everything up for me in the storm and after reading everything that I read and finding out that well Google has their big contracts with Verizon and Verizon gave them their own say on how the bootloader gets unlocked if it's to get in locked and all that and I was just like are you effing kidding me because I've had Nexus phone I figured hey you'll be able to unlock it but no they give that up to the vendor and I've looked into everything in detail that I can find I've even tried to do some of the details at Google says you should be able to do but because of their giving the way the rights to that whole Verizon thing because of the contract that they had no go so I don't know if anybody else that are truly trying to find an exploit for that because a the phone is old being what's the point I mean Verizon's going to do Verizon sayings and I don't particularly like being with Verizon and now that my dad has passed away my mom would like to get out of the contract so I'm trying to run my phone down a little bit so we don't have to pay quite as much to buy as a contract and if it wasn't for the fact that it affects credit scores etc etc I personally go in to Verizon store have them get their corporate on phone to their highest boss and tell them to record all how I really truly feel about them because where I live come to find out T-Mobile has the best service in the areas where I'm at versus Verizon and well honestly with T-Mobile they don't f you over when you try to upgrade or anything like that they don't try to hike rates on you blindly and but then again with Verizon if you use their prepaid you don't get screwed over but all I can say is f Verizon because these days it pretty much any service if you're in a major city and all that it doesn't matter what service you got you can go with the cheapest mobile and everything is runs off multiple carrier bands it's all fine and dandy where I'm at you're more relied on these carrier bands that are solidly held by the carriers but good luck I would just say have a quote unquote accident with the phone in do what you need to do or get out of the contract with Verizon because that's them they equivalate how Walmart is as a whole in the store-wise and I know people that have worked at Walmart employees they're just low-level cannot get overtime but yet the higher-ups who don't have to sit in a store all day but they get sitting in a nice comfy cozy office wherever they are they're allowed to have overtime even though they're making five times the salary that they're employees who actually do the drunk work yet so do the math I said get rid of Verizon I'm sorry I'm just a chatty Cathy tonight and yeah I can go on and on and on but and I do apologize so if you actually take the time to read this I applaud it but if you see how long this response is I don't blame you if you don't want to read it good luck man
