No auto rotation and Google Play Movies not working
Thanks for the work on the ROM. Most thing work well but a couple of issues I've had are mentioned in the title above. I do have the auto rotate option in settings but it does not work. It stays in portrait no matter what I do, but when I open an app that only has landscape mode that'll open fine but it'll get stuck in that position even after I exit the app. I have to open an app that only has portrait mode then exit that app to have the screen flip back. Also, whenever I try to watch anything on Google Play Movies it'll say "playback not supported on this device." Once again, thanks for all your hard work.

I looked into the auto rotate issue. seems to work fine for me, both on the Google Now Launcher and the AOSP Launcher2... did you come from another ROM/Android version/restore with titanium backup? anything that may cause the issue, try a clean install.
As for the Google Play Movies issue, I downloaded it and took a look, you're correct, it doesn't seem to play. I haven't tried local videos. I did a logcat and it threw a DRM error at me, it then gave me the thought that does unlocking the bootloader on a nexus remove DRM keys of any sort? I know it does on Xperia and have had one of their devices. I'll look into it.

Thanks for the quick reply. The rotation issue may have something to do with the fact that I did a dirty flash, coming over from Paranoid Beta 4.6. The reason I did this was because I currently reside in Cambodia and a clean install will not let me re-enable Google Now. Since PA 4.6 is Kit Kat I still have Google Now enabled and a dirty flash allowed me to keep that setting. I'll try and google some work arounds for getting back google now and if I can find a solution I'll try a clean install.
Any updates to the Google Play Movies issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

One more thing I should mention is that I did the exact same thing for my Nexus 5. I did a dirty flash from PA 4.6 using your rom for the Nexus 5 and I have had none of these issues. I was able to keep Google Now, auto rotate works fine and I can also view all my shows on Google Play Movies.

That's probably your issue, you could backup with TWRP, flash and clean install, then use titanium backup just to restore google now from the nandroid?
I fail to see how your location effects that though, surely you could just flash it here on XDA, I'm sure there are some Google Now zips lurking around.
I'm having a look into it now, I'll probably reach out for help from some others, but should be fixed in the next build
EDIT:
Each device is different, I've seen dirty flashes work and not work from device to device it's very hit and miss. Rascarlo supports the N5 ROM, not me

Android 5.0 requires the turning on of location reporting for Google Now to work. This is not allowed in certain regions, Cambodia being one of them and the option is completely unavailable. I'll try your suggestions with TWRP and Titanium although I do remember seeing an article regarding a work around for this.

4.2 Camera and the DInc.

Has anyone been able to get the 4.2 camera on the Dinc? I've been trying to get it to work on mine but I have had no luck. If anyone has, would please show how you got it to work? thanks!

When I saw this, I though, "Your'e crazy!" But I tried it anyway...yeah, I'm crazy too...Amazingly, it actually works!! It's pretty slow (and the camera preview goes wonky just like the stock JB camera app), and video recording is broken on this ROM currently (Pons CM10-Unofficial-11-01). But the 4.2 camera actually works.
I copied the files over manually and fixed permissions (I used X-plore, but Root Explorer or adb would work as well), that way I could back up all the files I was replacing in case things went ugly. I quickly found:
The Problem. There's not enough room on the system partition for this newer (bigger) camera app and for the extra libs it requires. SO it will fail if you just try to flash the .zip. The easiest way to get it to work is to use Titanium Backup to uninstall some stuff. First to go is Gallery (we're replacing that), then I uninstalled Email, Exchange Services, Setup Wizard, Google One Time Init, and Trebuchet (make sure you have another launcher installed before you remove Trebuchet). THen, it was just a matter of copying the new files into place, fixing their permissions, and rebooting. But if you clean up some space on /system, you should be able to install the .zip from recovery and be good to go.

I did exactly what you put and it WORKED!!! you have no idea how excited I am thank you so very much!
Just by way of confirmation, it does work (and is easier) to install the 4.2 camera this way:
1. Install your favorite JB ROM and gapps; boot the phone.
2. Using Titanium, uninstall gallery, and a few other things as mentined in post #2.
3. Boot into recovery again and install the 4.2 camera zip. (the one that's patched to work on non-nexus devices, procured elsewhere)
4. Boot the phone again and enjoy the goodness!
If anybody figures out a way to get anything useful out of photosphere on this phone, let me know.

All good advice, and uninstalling unneeded system apps is prudent with JB Roms. But to short circuit all this - I simply use the Camera360 app, which I find to be much better than the native camera app.

Except this thread is about the 4.2 camera which has Photosphere it in, not the stock app itself.
Well photosphere seems to be pretty much a functional failure on the Dinc, but the new gallery app is pretty cool. It's fast (it took some time to 'settle in'), plus the photo editing features are pretty neat. I'm liking it!
do you have a link where the 4.2 camera zip is? I've been looking for days to find a way to get the camera working on this dinc running tinys cm10. if there is another thread with a detailed walkthrough or if you could maybe post one to help those like me looking for this camera fix it would be much appreciated. desperately need to get this monkey off my back so I can pass this phone on. thanks!

The 4.2 camera being discussed in this thread had been ripped from the Nexus 4 and patched by Android Police (I believe) to work on other phones. I don't have the link handy, but I'm not sure it would do you any good anyway. What are you trying to fix? The camera (except for video recording) works on tiny's CM10, works better than the 4.2 camera actually because the camera preview goes nuts sometimes on the 4.2 camera, and tiny's CM10 uses the legacy (ICS) camera which does not have the preview issues. If you really want the 4.2 camera, an easier way to get it is to flash tiny's CM10.1, but like I said, this will have the preview issues. The only difference between the default CM10.1 camera and the patched 4.2 camera is Photosphere, which does not work on our phones anyway.
If you're looking for a camera 'fix' for CM10, the only thing that needs fixing is the camcorder, and for that you have two options:
1. Low-quality video recording with VideoCam Illusions, free on the Play Store
2. Use a Gingerbread (or older) ROM.
sorry for misunderstanding, I've been looking everywhere to figure out the issues I'm having with this dinc. I can't get the camera working or Netflix running tinys cm10. I don't think it's the Rom but I can't figure out where I've gone wrong. I've been lurking these forums for a while and have been able to troubleshoot the three other devices pretty good with the amazing info on here, but this one is getting the best of me at the moment. bought this dinc reconditioned, it was running 2.3.4 and I followed a tutorial to downgrade to 2.2 and root and get s-off with cwm. I upgraded to the latest cwm recovery and have flashed this rom 3 times trying to make sure it was clean. just keep getting a black screen when I try any camera app until it force closes. when I play a movie on Netflix everything works but the video is a black screen, even the sound plays. I realize this is in the wrong place but I can't post in dev yet, maybe I should start a new thread?

Netflix is broken on this device past gingerbread. I've yet to hear a single user report video on Netflix as working.
Do you remember having a working camera when you first started using it? It could be hardware failure for the camera. Also which gapps file did you flash? If you flashed the wrong one it could cause funkiness. If you didn't flash any, the camera should be working. I know that doesn't make sense but try to answer these questions as best as you can.
I followed the link to the gapps from tinys cm10 thread and downloaded jb 20121011 signed. I'll try without gapps tomorrow to see what that does. I hadn't begun to look into the Netflix issue yet so thank you for saving me the time on that. if that's not the right gapps then I'll try another, I appreciate the help, thank you. thanks for an awesome Rom btw, I have yet to find one this nice for any other device I'm using. Happy New year!

[Q] Google play not working VIA PC (Frosty rom v11)

For some reason right now search is not working (at least that's what it tells me) so forgive me if this has been asked.
Here are some background
It worked fine with Rom's previous build
Currently running backup as I tested a Rom and came back to frosty
When I log on to Google Play it just does not think I have this particular device (it recognizes my tablet)
Is thier some sort of way to fix this. Is this a Rom issue? Is their some sort of script i can change on my phone to make it work?
(its not related but it would also be cool to tell Google play i have a device that is widely supported of issues like gameloft games or tegra only games IDK)
I also find this happens to me often when i use an AOSP based rom and it just so happens that i tested an AOSP Rom before coming back to current rom.
I really don't want to reinstall the Rom unless its necessary, (i always find its easier but takes much longer to manually as i either don't know how to use titanium correctly or i always choose an option to backup that messes up when i try tio restore.) also I do not remember if it worked with this Roms current build version 11.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my post and I hope to figure this out.

Is your phone and your tab signed in under two different gmail accounts? Maybe its something that needs to be changed from the website end of things. Try logging on to play store and changing the device type in settings maybe? I have been using play store on my phone for a while so I don't even really remember it on PC lol these were just the first things that came to mind after reading your question. Hope this helps

Cyanogenmod help

I've looked through the forums for hours now and according to the noob video made by xda. I'm asking for help. I have an at&t Samsung galaxy s3 with the CyanogenMod installed (as the title implies) and to be honest its not worth the hastle. I'm having problems left and right. First off, the camera app that comes with the phone is missing. Or if theres a custom one. Its not included. I'm aware that I can find and install an external apk but I'll get to the problem with that in a bit. I followed very detailed instructions on installing the cyanogenmod and gapps and everything was fine (stable version) but the notifications suggested I update the mod so I did. Now I have the camera but my play store will not work. It opens for a split second then closes. Also, the file manager is gone. So I downloaded multiple file managers and it seems after first use that they can no longer open anything. I can't even access the files. I checked the superuser allowed and disallowed apps and everything seems fine. Now with the apk problem. Almost any apk I download will not install on my phone. Sorry for the erratic problems just jumbled everywhere in this post but I'm using my phone to write this so its a bit difficult to organize. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. A link to a post already like this (which I couldn't find) or a link to a tutorial maybe or troubleshooting these problems. I will delete this post as soon as I find a solution so I don't use up space on the forums with a somewhat personal problem. Thanks in advance!

Go in application settings and delete your play store's data/cache. That should fix it.
Without it, it's kinda hard to install apps unless you sideload. If you do sideload, you need to allow it in your settings (security I believe).
if you're using the stable version of CM
you might have to go to Date & Time setting
and fix the date on there in order to make play store works
and everything you say about camera, it is weird indeed because not only CM, every rom out there should include a camera app
if that problem still exists for you, you might want to clean/wipe everything, from cache to system and then flash the rom again
Thank you guys. I tried wiping the cache and it still didn't work. I don't mind side loading which is what I've been doing but its not ideal. I can only search for the exact app(s) I want rather than exploring via play store. Also, you guys didn't mention the problem with the file managers not working after first try. If you have any feedback it'd be great. I would like to keep the cyanogenmod but its just not worth the time and effort (opinion). If I can't fix the problem or find a solution I'll just go back to my phones stock UI because even though I think flashing ROMs is awesome. It really isn't worth frustrating myself with something that's an option and not a necessity. Thanks in advance for feedback.

the file manager part is really weird.
if you clean install, especially the stable version, everything should works just fine
however, it sounds like bad install though
how about this this
Download Titanium Backup and wipe data + cache for file manager only and see if it works
if not, try the longer way
download stock att rom(4.1.1)
go to recovery, wipe everything
go to download mode
flash stock rom with odin
restart to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache
root the phone
Re-Download CM10 stable
go to recovery, wipe everything, including System
flash cm10
reboot and see if everything works
Yeah I've tried a factory reset. It only deleted my user data not really resetting the phone. Thank you pcchano (sorry if I got name wrong) I'll try and erase everything and reinstall from scratch but its not my first time using custom ROMs so I'm sure I did it right but I'll give it a go. Also, someone told me that I need to completely wipe any data associated with Google wallet before I root or else play store will not work. Has anyone tried out this theory or know anything about it? It doesn't make sense to me seeing as wallet is saved server side beside the basic user data stored on the phone. But please let me know. You guys are all very helpful thanks for the feedback.

Also, I've never had to wipe dalvik before? Could that be my problem? I also noticed that when I updated cm the info panel said 'experimental' even though I chose the stable version to start with? Could some of these problems be associated with cm rather than blaming it on my phone? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

i have like 2 s3 using CM10 stable version and no problem with it (other than the play store wouldn't connect due to the date in setting wasn't correct) while I myself am using CM10.1 and other than the bugs that come with CM10.1 or google source code, it is a functional rom
so i would rather say, it is your phone
and you should always wipe dalvik cache along with cache partition before flashing new rom.
OK pcshano thanks very much. I'll just erase everything and start from scratch. Thanks everyone who helped me. This forum and you people are awesome. I'll delete this post as soon as I reinstall the ROM to make sure it worked. Thanks again!

The stable cm is of the 10 variety. The experimental builds are 10.1 if I'm not mistaken. In which case you should only need to flash the appropriate gapps package to get the play store functioning and camera as well. The file manager issue I don't know beyond the external sd card being a bit sketchy on 4.2 builds. Are you using an external sd card? Start with a fresh flash of 10.1 if you want to go with that, flash a 4.2 gapps zip and see what happens from there.

I installed the Lollipop Stock Rom today (razor-lrx21p-factory-ba55c6ab.zip), coming from Paranoid Android. It works perfect, but I have problems getting it rooted properly. I used Nexus Root Toolkit to root it. SuperSU appears, but when I try to open for example TitaniumBackup, it asks for root access, but afterwards the app says that none has been granted. The log of SuperSU says the following:
Code:
/data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/files/busybox
echo "
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]$?" >&2
echo "
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]"
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]1
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]
Can anybody help me?
I'm having the same problem
Just wanted to say thanks to the dev, all working good here,
To the guys asking if it works on Multirom:
It does, I have it running as the main ROM, moved the one I had (Stock KitKat) to secondary, didn't have to do anything special.
Cheers.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794642, post 1273. Flash this through TWRP. TB has a workaround, but this worked for others apps not taking root, too (ESFile, QuickBoot).

All videos I've tried (movies from OTG storage, Netflix, amazon prime, YouTube, xfinity TV go) so far have worked. I fastboot flashed all images from google. Are you having issues with all videos?

When you download the Google now launcher it makes it the android l launcher. I had the same problem
I just flashed this today, and an either having assorted issues, or an just on the lollipop learning curve, and need some assistance.
First, I have no lock screen, and security settings says I need to make one to edit it... How?
Next, I can get the notification drop down, but I haven't seen a notification yet after a few hours, and more importantly, can't double swipe to get the quick menu or get the quick menu with a second swipe on the notification bar... Am I doing something wrong?
On KitKat to get the extended boot menu, we turned it on in developer settings, right? I added the developer settings, but don't see an extended boot menu option. How do I get that back ?
I do have for still and an unlocked, but I'm just seeing things I either not familiar with, or am having some flash update issues.... Not sure which yet.
Thanks so much Scott, it works perfectly to mine N7
Video & App Install Issue
So - I know this is a known issue. Video playback is very broken right now for me on this ROM. I can play some local files in QuikPic but cannot play Youtube videos or some streaming stuff in Chrome, regardless of if I'm throwing it to Chromecast or playing on device. I'm on TWRP 2.8.1.0, flashed the updated bootloader, and cleared everything prior to flashing the ROM twice now. I had to run the SD Card code to get external storage back also. I have had no issues with any KK or prior ROMs in the past.
I also have numerous programs that are giving me the -506 Error on install, which I cannot find a fix for. I've tried force installing them with Titanium after getting the error, and that fails too (never ending circle of restore after HOURs of waiting). I've cleared cache, deleted data for Play Store and Play Services, but no solution for this issue either
I really don't want to have to completely wipe the device and flash a stock image again. If I do, I'm manually rooting the device and saying good bye to a ROM that made life much easier. I appreciate the effort of our ROM creator, but this is frustrating.
When plugging in my nexus to the computer, I can't see the twrp folder. I have only 1.71 GB left of internal storage, but no other folders except downloads and camera folders can be seen.

I've noticed two different apps do this. When there is a drop-down for a date the app will force close. Can this be duplicated on your end? I've attached a pic to better explain the drop-down.

I am experiencing what I think is a similar problem, though it's not just limited to dates. When I click on a field, like in your example, that should bring up a drop-down menu, I will get "Unfortunately, [app] has closed." So far, this has happened to me in Endomondo when I try to input the duration of a workout and LastPass when I try to change the amount of time before I am asked to reenter my password.
Have you had any success solving the issue, @t4duzan, or does anyone else have ideas about what might be going on? I have tried clearing the apps' data, as well as wiping cache and dalvik in recovery, and neither has worked. This has been a problem both in stock 5.1 and now Adrenaline, though it wasn't an issue in stock 5.0 before s-off and rooting.
Some scrolling menus cause apps to close
I am generally finding Adrenaline quite excellent! Many thanks, @ΠΣΘ!
My only issue is that something is causing a few apps to close when I tap to bring up a menu that should allow me to scroll through to choose an option (like duration of time).
I'm not sure if this is the least bit helpful, but I've attached two screenshots from Endomondo where, if I tap either for duration or distance (which should bring up a menu like in the second screenshot [taken from an M9 running Android 5.0]), I will get the message "Unfortunately, Endomondo has stopped." The same thing happens in a few other apps with a similar sort of menu, e.g., LastPass where it closes when I try to change the setting for duration of time before having to reenter my password.
I have tried wiping data and cache for the affected apps, as well as cache and dalvik cache in recovery. I have also done a full wipe and reinstalled the ROM. The problem persists.
This also occurs on the 5.1 stock ROM . These are the only two ROMs I have flashed since upgrading firmware and moving to 5.1.
Any ideas of what could be going wrong and/or possible fixes?

This is an issue caused from the oat2dex.jar (tool used to deodex the ROM) an older version (the one that was out when we made our ROMs) caused Open GL and some apps to not install from the playstore along with this numberpicker issue, a newer oat2dex.jar version came out and fixed this issue
attached is an edited framework.jar with the necessary edits, from Neo's ROM that will fix the issue
flash in recovery - it will go through the android is optimizing apps.
here are some pics from my 5.1 ROM

Very welcome my friend.
So I flashed this ROM on my phone expecting a similar to stock startup routine. Sadly not so. Please put in your OP that wifi is not part of the setup routine and cell data is required. Blargh... time to figure out how to dig out of this hole.
edit: Let it sit for a while and when I picked it back up it had apparently gotten over it. Odd.
What the heck is 13gb.... I never install crap I don't need but dang... If the ROM is 799mb what's the other garbage lurking on my phone?

Is there any way I can boost my boomsound loudness manually by editing mixer paths? I drive a forklift for work and the speakers are just not loud enough for me.
My older phones I could adjust the "speaker" path from like 84 to 90 and it was so much louder.
Does anyone know what path in looking for in the m9?

Rom might be that small zipped...however my system directory alone is 2 gigs. Then you have all of /data which is gigs too. Plus you likely have the one or two dump files at 1-2 gigs a piece.
