ok so i wanna add another charging port out the back for my in dash vehicle install. can anyone tell me how to add another charger without soldering into the micro usb port? i tried checking the pins on the back cover to see if any of them was apart of the qi charging and if so i would of just soldered into the pins on the mobo to the qi connection. but fot the life of me i cant figure out what ones are the charging for the qi as i cant find any voltage on them. unless im missing something? i attached a picture showing the pins i tried testing. they would be easiest if i just knew what one was positive/negative.
can anyone tell me where to solder in wires for another charging connection that isnt at the micro usb connector at the bottom? (i cant use that as the pins are just way to damn small for my soldering skills.)

quick update i found this, i found this image and it looks like the leads from the coil goes to the left of the cover but yet when i check for voltage when qi charging it doesn't show anything...
Why wouldn't you just use the wireless charging functionality that is already built in? Mount the charging pad behind it in the dash. I've seen a few people doing dash installs this way and it works great.

already tried that it works good until the tablet is fully charged, it quits accepting a charge until i unplug the qi charger or pull it away from the tablet and replace it.

This is very iffy, and DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU CANNOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is your problem not mine, if you mess it up
My apologies for supersized images, but they get the point across.
Things you will need.
1. Battery bricked Photon/Motorola Device (x/x2/d/d2/etc)
2. A SPARE USB CABLE, NOT YOUR MAIN CABLE! (Don't be dumb!)
3. Your usb cable you use to to connect your device to your pc.
Directions as follows:
Step 1:
Splice your cable by cutting off the end of the cable (where you would input it to the phone)

1a: strip the wire about two inches so that white,green,red,black wires are all showing, pull back Green and white wires, as they will not be used.
1b. Strip the red/black wire so they look like below, then wind them up like so.
2. Pull out the battery in the photon.
2a. This is where this gets tricky, look the postive/negative logo's on the battery above the terminals, place the red in the positive terminal and the black in the negative terminal.
2b. Place battery in phone with wires connected to terminal!
3. Plug usb cable into your pc, then connect your usb cable to the phone, wait 2 minutes, and you should no longer have battery too low messages!!!
Remember when you disconnect the phone, UNPLUG THE BATTERY USB CABLE FROM THE PC FIRST OR YOU WILL **** UP YOUR PHONE'S BATTERY SENSOR!!!!
This will work on ALL motorola devices, and most phones period.
This is like jumping your battery from a car.
You're welcome for saving you money , this helped me out SO MANY TIMES.
Luckily I'm not in need of this but I was just wondering earlier this morning if this would be possible.. I figured I'd find out the hard way if it came down to it, but now I know it should work!
Thanks and excellent guide
From what I understand it is officially a USB micro-b cord that is used to charge and sync with a computer for the Galaxy Nexus.
Does anyone know if this is accurate?
Thanks! Don't want to buy the wrong one off of ebay
its simply microUSB cable. Just make sure you buy a quality ones, even though its universal, often cheap ones have trouble with data transferring.
It's male USB to male microUSB, I assume that's both A, not B which is female.

Monoprice sells them cheap, up to 10ft and 15ft lengths, but I wouldn't use these for anything more than overnight charging. There is HUGE power loss on that long of a cable, meaning it'll take quite a long time to charge the phone, even off of a wall socket. I definitely wouldn't use a 15ft cable (or even 10ft) to transfer data or use Fastboot/ADB for flashing. Just wouldn't want that "line loss" to interfere with anything. Probably a bit paranoid but just not worth messing with it. Just use the 3ft cable in the box for that.

Thankfully most newer phones are micro USB unlike older phones. I know my Tilt 2 had a proprietary connector.
Thanks everyone!
I forgot about monoprice. I'll give them a shot, especially since their return policy is awesome
Make sure not to get mini usb. The name is similar to micro usb, but they are completely different and incompatible.
Hi ,I got this stuff,PIXI wireless charge set for cellphone:

and this tool:
So I would like to make a wireless charger for Acro s.
Simple step like follow:
1. Cut the very thin molybdenum disk to 2 small pieces.
2. Solder it to the coil output, this 2 mo-disk will contact with the charging point of Acro S.
This is the pic finished. see, I put 2 tiny copper clamper to make sure it have a contact.
3.Disassemble the back cover of Acro S. Stick the coil to it.
4. Put the back onto wireless charger test output voltage. everything fine here. output voltage around 5.3V without load.
5.Put cover back and put phone onto charger. WOW.It's working!
But soon I find something not right. It's not working well, the phone is keep doing like this: charing -> discharing ->charing .... and cycle like this .
I measure the output voltage, I found this: the voltage at first is 5V, after around 3 seconds it drop to 0V, then rise to 5V again.The charger doing this again and again. so make the phone go charging -> discharging ->charing ....cycle?
Has anyone can give some useful information?
reverse engineer your steps bro..
maybe you cut the disks too small in step1 or maybe a soldering problem

Good thinking. I will check my soldering, Maybe is really a contact problem. Things will go simple then.
Hello all,
I recently broke the USB port of my 1 year and a month old Gnex, I decided to disassembly the phone and change the USB Port & Main Mic circuit board completely (I try replacing a new port to the board but end up failed due to the tinny pins).
In addition to that, I bought a qi inductive charging receiver coil sticker, it looks like:
{

"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
and attached the connection to the pogo pins according to this thread (Adding touchstone to Gnex). The qi charging works but somehow my Gnex loses NFC function. It looks like there are some kind of shielding at the back of the sticker but they are sticking too tight together separating them will damage the coil.
To further improve that, I found a dual qi and nfc coil sticker for the Galaxy S4
The qi part is a piece of cake and well documented but I never find any details on the Gnex's NFC. The EB-L1F2HVU holds the NFC coil and connect to the phone's NFC circuit though a 4-pin battery connector:
It is known that:
1: +5V
2: Should be thermistor?
3: GND
4: ? Should be NFC related as some after market battery with no NFC functionality got 3pins only.
For the NFC coil, one connection must goes to pin 4 of the battery connector, to complete the circuit do you think I should connect the other end to +5V or GND? Any ideas? I bet it goes to GND as power for NFC should be alternating and it makes no sense to give DC 5V, what do you think?

So i want to ask, does anyone know if the 1st item is completely included in the second one?
In that case i think i will just buy the 2nd one.
AFAIK, the micro USB port is faster than the Wireless charging port, that's why i also want the 1st item.
They're both 9W 1.8A AC adapters so even if they're not exactly the same in appearence or whatever, they should perform the same.
@D3_
Thanks for answer.
If both chargers performs exactly the same with the N5,
Then I'm going to go for the wireless one. And use the micro USB when I need a faster charge.

The wireless charger actually charges really quickly. I've laid my phone down on it and went and took a shower and whatnot ~1 hour or so and it'll go from 30% to like 70%. Obviously my counts are accurate since I don't know exact times.
