Range of colours. Also comes in metal. Twist on fitment also claims could help prevent cracked back.
I've ordered one this evening.
https://www.shapeways.com/model/2911366/moto360-case-plastic.html?materialId=28&li=ostatus
Holy crap. They have one in silver for $80.
Hahaha. That's nuts.
Yeah I saw the price and clicked past that one!
Hey, I'm the designer of this bumper.
I originally built the case to help reduce loading of the plastic backing, in an attempt to prevent the cracking I've read about.
Then I was asked to make a plastic version available. I doubt the plastic case will have any noticeable effect on the cracking, but I guess people liked the look of it (and the reduced cost vs. metal )
I'm now waiting on my order to do a final test fit and install.
If you guys have any suggestions or comments, let me know. I'm open to feedback.
Oh, and if you think the silver one is expensive, you don't even want to know what Shapeways would have charged for Gold or Platinum!
First question would be: Can we see it on an actual moto 360?
Hey, what about the material on this bumper. The first one (http://www.shapeways.com/model/2704...e-tall.html?li=search-results-1&materialId=95) was like sandpaper.
How do you get the case over the Moto 360 Main Button?
Photos to come. I've only recently uploaded the model to Shapeways, and I'm currently waiting for my order to arrive.
I have the following cases on order: two plastic, one steel and one brass. They have an estimated ship date of Dec 18th. I'm hoping Customs don't hold my shipment too long so that I can get it before Xmas.
In terms of install, I have a slot on the bottom, and the ribs on the button side are grooved on the inside to make clearance for the button.
3D Printed parts aren't perfect, they have tolerances that aren't well defined. I hopefully made enough clearance for the button. Which is why the cases are marked Beta.
With regards to the Plastic texture. I've never personally ordered anything in plastic yet.
I heard the surface can have a bit of a rough feel. I ordered both a polished and non-polished plastic to see the difference.

The material on the one you're talking about is rough, but it doesn't hurt anything. Just an FYI. If you don't like the feel, that's anther story altogether.
I'm watching this closely, as the other type on shapeways could really use some improvements. It fits but gets off kilter a lot.
Received mine today. Have to be brutally honest, awful. Truly, awful.
Main problems:
- too flimsy
- too rigid
- too rough
- ill fitting
The material used is simply not fit for purpose. You can't have a bumper which can't take a 'bump'. It's the opposite of durable. Part of it literally 'crumbled' (best word for it, like breaking a biscuit) as I twisted it on. The arms which I assumed went above the band and into the slots on watch I think actually go below the band I can see snapping off way too easily. Secondly they are slightly irritating as they sit beneath the band and your arm. Once fitted its quite a good fit, but to get it on is a chore. There is a slight indent to initially place the bumper over the power button but as you have to slightly twist it to install it, the button catches on the other parts of the bumper.
I'm struggling to really find anything good to say about it other then the design is different and original. If it was made of silicone or even a hard wearing flexible plastic it would be better.
Avoid. At least for time being until the creator has had more time to test different samples.

Ouch... that's disheartening.
I never intended on releasing a plastic version since I didn't have any personal experience with the 3D printed nylon. But I had quite a few requests to see it in plastic.
Most of what I read, made it sound like it was fairly flexible, I never envisioned it crumbling. The material is marketed as "Stong and Flexible" after all. Would you be willing to contact Shapeways directly and mention the crumbling? Perhaps there was a bad batch?
I'm still waiting on my order, so once I get mine I'll see how bad it is.
If it's as you've described, I'll just remove the plastic version entirely.
In terms of install, I knew it would be tricky. I tried to balance out the difficulty of install with keeping the bulk of the case down.
The larger I make the clearances, the bigger the outside of the case grows. I'm willing to open up clearances if the install is unnecessarily difficult.
I can only hope that the metal cases are closer to my initial vision.
Thanks for the honest feedback.

Yeah I'll drop them some feedback.
Obviously my feedback here is purely on the plastic version provided by Shapeways. Just to clarify that to others as I wouldn't want to put people off trying your metal versions.
If you ever manage to produce one in a silicone or a more durable flexible plastic I would be interested. As the problems I found are entirely down to the material Shapeways use.
STL File
Are you by chance planning to release or sell an STL file. I have a 3D printer and don't want to pay shapeways to make something I can make in my office.
There is another bumper in shapeways

I know it's early days so far, but has anyone had any luck finding a really, really good case for this device?
I am now getting quite jealous of the iPhone accessories. Everywhere you look, pda case companies are offering wonderful, bright innovative cases for iPhone, not so The Touch.
In fact, most of the cases I have seen (Noreve, Piel Frama) seem to have a strip of leather covering the logo just above the d-pad, which would impede the Touchflo swipe.
The only one which doesn't seems to be the Proporta, which uses a 'C-Clip' mechanism. However, that looks like the actual clips themselves might damage/scratch the casing. And you can have any colour you like as long as it's black.
Emailed Vaja, and they have no plans for a Touch case. Sena say theirs is in development.
A lot of the cases already on the market seem to ignore the fact that this phone is popular because it is slim, light and small. Nobody wants to add a case that makes it larger and heavier.
Basically I would be happy with a case like the one supplied, but in leather, and preferably a bright colour (helps to find it in a large handbag!).
This is one I'm considering getting

How much bulk would that add to the touch? I have just put my athena on "hold" but it looks like this would be bulking up again?
If you want a black less bulky case then this one looks OK
http://www.boxwave.com/products/dlcase/htc-touch-designio-leather-case_2727.htm
Does anyone know if any of these cases will also take a credit card or two or do they only have sd-card slots?
Cheers!

I got this one. You can find it on other sites.
http://www.pdashop.nl/product/43139/42781/3338/noreve-tradition-leather-case-htc-touch.html
It is the Noreve tradition leather case Credit card slot included, and no fidgety clips to deal with. Just magnetic catch. Has detachable swivel belt clip.
Krusell Cases
Have a look a this one....http://www.krusell.se/product.php?productID=2730&category=51
I have been personally using Krusell cases for over 4 years now and am a great admirer of their quality.I blv they are the only manufacturers to offer a lifetime warranty on their cases.....check it out....
Both the Noreve and the Krusell, and the Piel Frama all seem to have a leather strip covering the HTC logo where Touchflo begins, would that get in the way, and also, the leather 'frame' of the screen, does that impede the fingers only needed aspect of particularly the top two corners?

Noreve really gets in the way of touchflow. I mainly use the case when am out shopping or other outdoor activity so not much of an issue for me. It is either in the pouch and/or in my shirt pocket naked
What's really, really, really annoying is the cases that are being made for the iPhone.
they are vibrant, colourful, young, exciting, different:
http://www.vajacases.com/home/home_en.html
http://www.senacases.com/Brands/App...b58cc3e4e40dc7ae.e3eTaxiPc3mTe34Pa38Ta38Nbxf0
http://www.pielframa.com/cases_iphone.htm
What do we get? Black, more black, maybe brown, and a series of cases made by people who have obviously never used a Touch with the Touchflo function, they think it's just another PDA. They haven't noticed the flush screen. They put strips of leather right over the place where Touchflo starts. They put a frame round the screen, so that the edges of the flush screen become unuseable.
They don't seem to realise that this phone is going to appeal to a new set of customers, who may not all be male business types. Rant, rant, rant.
sorry about that, rant finished now and feel much better for it.

I got the vertical flip one and really didnt like it.
First it made the Touch "more big" than i could imagine.
Second, the screen border got "framed" by the case leather and it was more difficult to activate some outter items on the screen.
I think these problems are not particular to the Brando case. Every leather case will have them.
So im thinking in order something like these:

for instance i am planning to buy some Ipod socks for my Touch. Of course, if it fits (i think it should fit)
This phone is new to India and not many options are available. I bought this MOBO case with belt clip that fits the Touch perfectly. Features rotating belt clip and magnetic closure. Made of PU/PVC synthetic leather with soft felt covering the bottom front flap. Local price is Rs. 205 (approximately 5.05 USD)

Hi there, I sense your frustration, but the pielframa page shows many different colours available. Sure, there may be problems with Touchflo, but you can't blame them for the colours! Vaja doesn't even seem to have a case for the Touch.

the only real 'colours' they are doing are primary blue, red and green. I'm not counting black and brown as colours. They make their own iphone case in turquoise, hot pink and lime green.
Nevertheless I would buy one of these if I didn't think that the use of the device would be largely compromised by the case.
I emailed Vaja, thinking that maybe a case was 'in the pipeline' but no, their reply stated that they had no intention of producing a case for the Touch.
They didn't even suggest that any of their universal cases might be a good fit either. Looking through them, I couldn't see one that would fit properly.
I'm holding out to see what Sena come up with. When I emailed them, they said theirs was still in development. As it was at that stage, I replied pointing out the problems with existing cases, so maybe theirs will be different. Just have to wait and see.
It's just a bit annoying that it appears that if something is produced by HTC it is perceived as 'business-like, boring, safe etc', but a device produced by Apple is perceived as 'trendy, hip, vibrant, exciting' and the cases are a reflection of this. I suppose it's partly down to the manufacturers themselves and the build up they give.

No problem, glad you feel better now! I bought a case with the Touch on the weekend, but I don't like it. I will take it back and see if I can get a black (yeah, boring) silicon case in exchange.
Cheers,
Simon....
Please let us know how you get on with the silicon case, I've heard they used to pick up a lot of dust etc, but look good otherwise.
Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against black cases. I would think it very weird if my husband suddenly acquired a hot pink carry case for his laptop/phone! I would just like the choice. Also, I'd like case manufacturers to get real users to 'test drive' some of these cases before they are launched.

Hi Marisa,
I'm using the silicon case and am generally pretty happy with it. I like the fact that the camera surround, screen and d-pad are recessed by a few mm, now when I place the device on a flat surface there's no risk of contact scratching.
It also gives it a ruggerdized look, perfect for me as I'm not really into hot pink either...!

answering my own question (that could be a bad sign?), I bought one of these and am completely satisfied. Excellent
quality, good solid protective front and back, nice snug fit but easy to get out, magnet closure and effective secure belt clip. The sides allow the head set connection to be attached with the phone still in the case. I am happy with it
I've always resented phone cases; necessary to protect your device but generally detracting from it aesthetically and adding unwanted bulk.
This, however, is the first case I've bought for a phone which I actually feel enhances it, and that's saying a lot considering how beautiful the One is as a bare device..!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390597401...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I searched quite extensively but could not find any other source for this particular case (either on eBay or elsewhere) so resigned to purchasing from China and waiting a couple of weeks for the case to arrive, it was definitely worth the wait :victory:

I ordered the brown which I think goes well with my silver One although the black would also go well with a silver handset imo.
Had I a black One I'd probably have gone for the navy blue or wine red, (the pink looks absolutely atrocious!)
Personally I'd also like to have seen a nice deep green version...

The material (described in the auction as 'PU leather') is actually a leather textured polyurethane skin glued to a plastic clip frame and thin plastic (hardly visible) front cover.
The front cover contains a thin carbon effect plastic plate (which is only visible through the CC card slot which is a nice detail) with the PU skin bonded to the outside surface and a soft felt material bonded to the inside.
Although it's obvious once you pick the case up that it's not leather, it's still of very high quality with high precision molding and cutting.
There were some tiny strands of glue on a few of the edges on mine which just rubbed away leaving the case pristine.
The whole thing is very slim, no more than 1.5 mm at any point, hardly adding any bulk to the phone at all and nicely following the curve of the handset on the back and the inward angle of the sides.
The only criticism anyone could possibly make is that it may have been desirable to have the edge of the front cover seam bonded, however, it's still very tidy looking and personally I think looks better plain cut. I certainly don't think it would peel or fray in any way.
hi and thanks for reviewing this flip case could you please reupload the pictures again ? cause it's not showing

I've had this product since mid September(2013), and after a summer of switching around and trying many different cases for the HTC One I never found one I truly liked until coming across this beautifully simplistic and elegant product from Woodchuck.
Using only the backing gives you the satisfying naked feel of the handset while adding a nice textured surface on the back for added stability/grip while holding the handset in comparison to using the HTC One without any case or backing, I found the aluminum to be very slippery to hold.
The only downsides of the product is your handset will be more prone to dents and other aesthetic damage leaving only the back of the phone protected from scratches. If you're careful with your handsets, this isn't an issue.
The wood back is made out of locally sourced Ebony wood in the USA. Each piece is laser cut, hand sanded and finished in their Minneapolis workshop. The product adheres to your phone with 3M™ Brand (Non-Residue) Adhesive.
Overall I would rate the product 5/5 Stars, I really love it and it's always been a conversation starter when people see my phone.
To be noted: Over time the edge of the product(on the left and right side) peels up very slightly leaving a half MM gap. It's unnoticeable unless you're looking closely at the handset.
To any future owner of the product, I advise wiping down the back of the phone with rubbing alcohol before applying the backing to ensure the adhesive sticks well.

Woodchuck also caters to various phones, tablets, laptops, headphones, and custom orders.

Yeah, of course.
It's made from real wood as stated in my review.
I think it looks great and love that it is real wood:thumbup:. My problem with it is it doesn't cover the entire back, to me it looks incomplete.

Looks awful imo does not go with the metal. Should cover the whole back and it wouldn't look so bad. Prob look better with a light wood like pine.

On my seemingly never ending search for the right case for every occasion, I stumbled upon the Painted “Lichi Grain” Hardcases. I am assuming “Lichi Grain” means leather look. Google search comes up with “Litchi” while every case of this style is “Lichi” so I don’t know. Maybe it’s just universally spelled wrong… who knows.
Anyway, these caught my eye for 3 reasons:
1) They are hardcases, which for better or worse, satisfy my minimalism addiction.
2) They have a neat texture.
3) They have painted pictures on them!
So, I decided to have a look through all of them and test one out. There are 20+ different designs to choose from. Some case designs are clearly meant for kids, some for girls, and some just weird…but I’ll hand it to them, they have a little bit of everything. I narrowed it down to the Skull, the weird anime Mario (not sure where I would ever use it!), and what I eventually settled on, which was the stylized Superman symbol. I figured I couldn’t be a grown ass man walking around with an anime Mario case… as much as the nostalgia was hitting me hahaha.
Presentation:
When I ordered it I was expecting the typical envelope with the case just wrapped in foam or something, which is generally how it is when you order something from overseas. While this came in an envelope, it was actually packaged nicely when I opened it up. It comes in a nice protective package, with a little window so you can feel the texture of the case. The presentation was a pleasant surprise.
When I cracked the package open and held the case you do notice the texture quite well. It isn’t two layers where it is a hardcase and then a leather coating or something. The plastic itself is textured and grooved like that. When you feel the case, you do feel the bumps and grooves, but it’s not a soft or grippy texture. The feeling is along the lines of the White Ringke Slim, the White Spigen Ultra Fit, the White LG Hardshell, or any standard polycarbonate case with no additional coating on it. This is just “Lichi Grain” textured. So I would consider it smooth but bumpy? If that makes any sense at all.
The painted picture on it made no discernable difference to the feel of the case. It still felt exactly the same as a standard polycarbonate case. So I don’t know what kind of paint they used, but you don’t feel it anyway. Whether or not the paint begins to wear/rub off or not, I have no idea, but for the short time I’ve had it, it seems durable enough.
Build Quality:
The case is thin and bendable. I would say it is just a bit thicker than the LG Hardshell (for those of you who have that). Following along those lines, you will know that this case will provide 0 drop protection. I think if you bent it outward too much, it would snap in half. Not that it would break putting it on and taking it off the phone, but just so you have an idea of the thickness of the case, and it being minimalist.
As for the cutouts, tight would be an appropriate word. It fits around the camera and flash very closely, but ever so slightly off centre (by like .25mm or something) and the power and volume cutouts are rounded and indented. I honestly would like them a tiny bit bigger, but if you are a fan of precise button cutouts, this doesn’t disappoint.
There is the slightest lip for a “lay on the table” screen down design. I never do, but if you want your case to be seen, you can do it without the screen touching the table (but just barely).
Looks:
I like it. The colors and contrast are very nice. The white is a bright white (the camera didn’t capture it well without flash due to how the room was lit) and I like the pattern used inside of the Superman symbol. It is not just a black stamp, but an interesting design in itself. The “Lichi Grain” also adds to the look and gives it some extra character. So I wasn’t disappointed at all in the looks department. It is a classy looking case.
Overall:
I’m pleasantly surprised. I figured I would give it a chance and it turned out nicer than I expected. It’s a nice looking case, quite thin, and the design/texture are done very well. I have no idea about the durability of the paint, so that’s still up in the air, but it looks nice regardless.
I’m not sure how often I’ll use it, as I still love my quicksand cases (of course) and I will soon have a Slickwraps skin to put on my replacement Red Nexus 5 (whenever they decide to ship it…) but I know I can pull this case out whenever I need a change of pace.
Pros:
- Sweet Design
- “Lichi Grain” Texture
- Thin/Minimalist
Cons:
- Durability of the paint is unknown
- Thin/Minimalist (so overall strength)
But they're like $7 above the usual price you used to pay for a case. You've got a big raise at work or what? ;D

Haha no kidding huh?
Just a bit of a change of pace is all. Still love my quicksand cases but I thought these ones were really neat.
The quicksand cases are definitely still my top pick. Build quality, texture, feel, price, etc. can't be beat. This was kind of an impulse buy based solely on looks.

Oh wow. Just what I've been looking for. A hard case without that soft touch material I really don't like. Looks like the caseology but in a much thinner design with exposed buttons. Just wish I could find it in a plain solid color.

Pricing
dbrand lists the case with a skin for 39.90 USD. I applied a newsletter subsription and paid 35.91 USD. No shipping fees were charged.
Delivery
The case was shipped from Canada to Germany in about 12 days and a tracking code. Although I thought that sales taxes would apply and be collected by the customs, the package had a "customs free" sticker on it and no taxes were charged. I dunno why but I do not complain.
Pictures
Retail box
The retail box is a gem. I took some shots of it so you see what I mean. It contributes nicely to the product and makes you feel having purchased something precious. Nicely done, robots!
Assembly
If you purchased a skin with the case, you have to bring it up to the case first. If you watch and follow the video guide, this is fairly easy and led to a perfect result for me.
Build quality / Durability / Looks
For my last 5 phones, I used SPECK cases and therefore was used to bulky cases. In comparison, this case feels lighter and even slim. It sure is a good amount bulkier than typical "slim case" but it comes with a decent amount of drop protection. Thanks to the Pixel 5 being a compact phone, it still can be held with one hand in a comfortable manner when wearing the case.
The edges feature a slighly nobby texture that feels just great and should also prevent accidential slips. The texture of the Matrix skin looks dope.
All in all, this case looks high-class and also provides nice haptics. In my eys, it is worth the money.
Protection
The case feels sturdy and protective. I am confident that my Pixel 5 will survive some serious drops with it.
The lip on the frontside has the signature curve: Thick at top and bottom, flush at the sides. This makes the back-swipe gesture a breeze while still preventing screen contact when placed on flat surfaces. I am a bit unsure wether this will lead to trouble with face-down falls on uneven surfaces, but I assume that a evenly formed lid might not perform much better in this scenario.
Fitting / Cutouts / Buttons
The case fits like a glove. The buttons are super clicky and it's a joy to use them. The cutouts are precise and the port cutout should be big enough to provide space for most cables.
Unfortunately, the fingerprint cutout is rather small. This makes the "swipe down for notifications" gesture definitely harder to use although it still works. For me, this is not a show stopper but it might be for people with fat huge fingers. I just wish that dbrand would have made the cutout a little bit bigger since this is my only point of criticism with this case.
Durability
If you search the internet about the dbrand Grip cases, you will stumble upon many stories where the cases fell apart. Then I found this thread, where dbrand gave a comprehensive explaination why this happened and which counter measures were taken. This case is the latest generation and comes with all the described improvents. Only time will tell wether this case will hold up better.
Verdict
I highly recommend the drand Grip case for the Google Pixel 5: It looks and feels great, provides good protection without adding too much bulk. The customizablity with new skins is unique and might tempt you to spend more money. This being said: If you have huge fingers, the fingerprint cutout might be too small for you. I am confident that this case will not fall apart (or dbrand being obliging if it does).
Could you please take a picture from the top with the screen on and with a white background on (you could go to the settings or anywhere else that shows the entire screen from edge to edge)? I would give an idea of how much bulk it adds to the phone.
I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
does the Wireless Charger work on pixel+case?

Yes, I use an Anker PowerWave Alloy and wireless quick charging works flawlessly.

its a good grippy case.. I love mine.
you gotta be out of your damn mind to pay for this...Ringke case, 12 bucks, owned, tested (not intentional) and it even got a cool Lanyard loop.
I have a new one for sale - has a sage skin on back - never used it - $20 delivered - PM me or email me at [email protected]
One of long term video reviews showed edges warping near cutout and buttons. How is it holding up so far? Price gives me a reason to pause even with the super 'grip" edges.
After using it every day, it is still in mint condition.
Thanks for the really good review. Just one point to clarify: can you please confirm that the back of the base (not just the side bumper) also has a grippy texture? If you put it on your pant leg when sitting, for example, will it slide off easily?
I love my Dbrand Grip with the red dragon skin and its super grippy texture.
If you're looking at phone cases to protect your phone's screen, you need to check out one of the screen guards. Screen protectors are becoming more advanced as the years go by. Some are built right in, some you have to put on separately. Either way, these are the best ways to make sure that your screen is safe. How can I make my phone case grippier?
You should also make sure that the cases you're looking at are anti-skid. This means that the case doesn't just slip over the phone, but stays put instead. If your phone slips out of the case, it will stop the phone from sliding all over the place. How can I make my phone case grippier? Start looking for cases with anti-skid features!
Another question you may be asking yourself is how can I make my phone case grippy if the material is hard and doesn't let the phone slide all over? Well, this is another problem that many phone cases have. So many cases are made of extremely hard materials that it's nearly impossible to slide your phone in and out. But luckily, there are some great soft cases available that are great at preventing your phone from sliding around.
I've been rocking this phone case for over a year. Just ordered the Leather skin insert from D Brand drop and a matte black skin as well. I've had the tear down on it for the year. The case is quite nice and offers good protection. The cut outs make it easy to use gesture controls.

After over a year of frequent use, I switched to an Google Pixel 6 Pro and therefore also sent this case to rest. Time for a wrap up on durability!
Unlike older generations, my case stood the test of time. The rubber did not separate from the plastic and even after some serious drops on concrete, the case is still in mint condition.
Only the skin foil started to get loose around the fingerprint scanner which led to strange haptics when you remove the finger from the scanner (since the foil will move a millimeter with with your finger). A new skin will surely fix this and so would some glue.
Guess what? I already pre-ordered this case for my new Pixel 6 Pro!
