S Note had been working for me but now when I try to open a new note or open a note I already have, S Note simply closes. I've also included a logcat. Thank you.
Did you try going into Application manager in settings and clearing cache and data? Wil Snotes stay open without trying to open a saved Snote?

I had tried clearing its data and cache. Snote would go through its introduction, right after choosing the templates,it stops then closes, then its the same thing. Snotes will stay open but it only happens trying to open a new or saved note.

changing build prop device id can cause this. I saw where people where changing their build prop to download different Samsung apps and run the higher res Youtube app. This may not apply to any of you but this is a know cause of S-note not working. If you haven't done anything like this then I'd have to think it was something else you possibly did on your phone.

Having an issue with one of my epics that half of the stuff in the market says not compatible, but on the other epic its fine. I know i downloaded this market enabler app and it ended up messing up my phone and im sure thats the issue, but since then i completely restored the market and all the market apps. It's still messed up. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this without wiping the complete phone?
Check your build.prop and see what your device is listed as. A text editor can view it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
already done that, everything in build prop says epic.
Can you list some of these apps so I can verify it is not just a market error? The same thing happened right after the EI22 OTA. It takes Google a week to catch up on new firmware.

Another question is are you using an app to change your LCD density? I had done so and a lot of apps said not compatible until I set to default and rebooted.

Well thats a interesting point.... i have my lcd density edited just via my build prop. im going to change it back and see if that fixes it.
edit: changing my density from 200 back to 240 doesn't fix the problem
I've had this problem before... ultimately google talk kept saying failed login. More than likely messed up data somewhere. I ended up flashing rom and delete all data dalvic and cache. When I tried to advance restore data from cwm this problem came back. Best to restore from titanium or my backup.

Do you mean it didn't wipe data or didn't fix the market problem? You should have to accept terms and conditions in market again to show it wiped data. As for apps still being incompatible, you need to Odin back to stock, something got out of whack...probably still something in the build.prop.
it wiped data, still didnt work. My build prop is fine. its the same as my other epic that works fine. same rom same everything. only different is one is on boost and one is on VM

Just one day it started showing the device as incompatible whereas the other device is not. Any apps that were compatible at one time? This happened to me with HBOGO then a week later it cleared up, like Google had to fix something.
Why? Happens randomly... and frequently... one is usually followed by several in short succession, and then it will stop and go away until the next out burst of gapps force closing comes along...?

go to each gapp in the list and force stop, clear data & clear cache. reboot.

Same situation. SGH999 Galaxy S3. Why is this an issue?
I also do not want to deal with factory reset, wiping apps, etc.
Basically, taking phone off sync... NO F/C at all. Slide tab to SYNC,
F/C EVERY SECOND. I took screen shots, thinking this is so unreal.
There must be an inherent issue with Samsung & Google not playing nicely together this time.
This is my 2nd phone BEHAVING the SAME. TMobile not helpful. In Another thread, they contacted the
President of Samsung for overheating & excessive battery drain. He was sent a new phone, but will end
up with the same problems. I really thought this phone was going to be the shizne...

I am posting this thread in an effort to reduce the congestion in development threads relating to the force closing issue of the contacts app in Touchwiz Jelly Bean roms based off the recent Bell leak. The following are solutions that are working for some, but not for others:
1. Go into recovery, clear cache, fix permissions and reboot.
2. Open accounts & sync options, select Google, un-check and re-check contacts.
3. Open a contact through your call log. For some this fixed opening the contacts app, for others it only allows you to view the one specific contact.
4. Restore a previous titanium backup of contacts app.
5. Install SecContacts.apk from a device where the contacts app is working.
6. Change the permissions to rw rw r in secContacts.apk and seccontactsprovider.apk, then fix permisions - Thanks Rybean
7. Flash the odexed bloated version, then reinstall that version without a wipe. - Thanks AntiSyrum
Please feel free to add any other solutions that have worked and discuss this issue in detail. Please keep all discussion here and out of development threads.
I want to note that 1-4 above have not worked for me. I cannot try 5 until I get my hands on a deodexed version of a working apk.
I had to change the permissions to rw rw r in secContacts.apk and the seccontactsprovider.apk then went in recovery and fixed permissions and it worked.

Not sure I follow? Are you saying the installation and sync of Go Contacts will result in the stock contacts app working issue free? If not, are you suggesting a replacement contacts app? Your right. I am suggesting a replacement contacts app. Like I said, it's just simple and easy workaround until things get worked out. In Smartguys thread some guys were able to fix this issue and some weren't. This is for the guys who haven't had any success with the solutions suggested in Smartguys thread.
You will lose the ui/functionality, but there were guys in the thread who said they've tried every solution to get it to work but just couldn't make it happen.

I started getting FC's on Contacts after installing an earlier JB-leak. But I used an external launcher (Go Launcher, if I'm not mistaken), and removing this solved my problem. Every FC since then has been solved gradually by keeping up to date on JB-leaks.
Was this a problem on the first Note tablet? As I get to installing a lot of apps, over 500 is what I have, I've found that the tablet is going through an infinite boot loop. I'm talking to a Samsung rep online now about it. I've tried taking out the sd card, putting it back it, etc. It appears that some are going through this too with the Galaxy Note 3.

Updating my status. Through my own research, instead of trying to install all 500 at once, I've taken a more modest approach. I'm installing apps 4 at a time, letting it finish, powering down, then starting back up. It's working. I can get to my home screen without problem now. Maybe 500+ apps was too much of a strain for the file system to endure.

it would be pretty stupid if that's the case. it would seem a bug if anything, and serious for some. installing that 500th (or whatever the breaking point would be) at the wrong time could be disastrous.

Mine goes through the Samsung animation 5 times... I'm not sure at what point started doing that. I have around 100 apps and I feel very lazy to reset it and install a few apps at the time to see if that fixes the problem... Anyway I wonder what the apps have to do with the booting?

DO NOT do this!! I did this on my own note 10.1 2014 after a bootlooping issue caused by corrupt files on my sd card (or so Ive theorized), and after doing so, my software showed as CUSTOM in the settings, and would not let me access the update servers. It was only after restoring the firmware via kies (a long and involved process, though less than odin, which probably would work too) that I was able to get it back to "Official". So unless you want to go through what I did, DO NOT factory reset via recovery. Id recommend doing everything else possible to fix this first.

Yes, google + definitely doesn't get along with the Note 8 on 4.2.2. You could always try wiping dalvik cache and cache in recovery and see if that helps. If its a specific app, go into app manager and clear its data and cache and that may help as well.
so far everything is working I had to reinstall a few apps but besides that its fine lets see what happens
