I have a friend who just moved here from Canada. She unlocked her phone herself and it was working good here in the US on At&t until she did the OTA, now she cannot get data on her phone. Sms works just no data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are the APn settings correct?
I believe so, I've never switched carriers, so what should I be looking for?
Look under mobile networks and make sure the Access Point settings match the settings for AT&T.

Hello all,
I have a tmobile dash sim unlocked and using at&t. At&t advised the internet would not work on my phone as it was. Does anyone know the settings or how to get the service to work. Thanks in advance

I have a galaxy S3 (SGH-I747) originally on Rogers form Canada. I bought an Un lock code and unlocked it. The phone shows signal, makes calls and SMS, but NO 4G and NO network access. (internet pages don't load when disconnected from WiFi)
Under Mobile Network I cannot connect to ATT's network. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or is there a ROM i need to install after I ROOT the phone? Do I even need to ROOT it? (Sorry in advance, i come from the world of Jailbreaking, but have rooted Droids in the past)
Thx!
I'm not an expert, but you probably need to check your APN settings, and change them to AT&Ts if they aren't already. You can check this in Settings -> More Settings (in Wireless and networks section) -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
I don't know what the AT&T settings should be, but you can probably find it easily enough. Also, you might want to Shut down the phone, remove the SIM, reboot without a sim, then shut down and put it in again to make it read the APN settings from the sim
Try flashing the ATT rom and see if that makes it work to start.
Got It!!!
I had to manually add my APN settings. I was over looking the button on the bottom left to configure it.
Thanks for the help!:cyclops:
Does the SGH-I747 (Rogers version form Canada) pick up LTE on AT&T?
I am currently in Afghanistan and the local network here is Roshan. I unlocked my phone by requesting the code from T-Mobile which they provided. I got the voice to work, but have no data. I don't even show data status in the system tray like E or G or 3G. Before I got out here and I was still under T-Mobile, I had them suspend my line for my time out here. I don't know if that has anything to with it, but I thought I mention it just in case. Now, all my mobile settings are on. I texted 167 with "GPRS on" to get the configuration settings sent to me. I installed them. I then double checked the settings with several sites to make sure I had the correct settings. I called the customer support for Roshan, and they sent me the same settings. I called T-Mobile and they said it has nothing to do with them as I have unlocked my phone and the problem is with the Roshan network or settings. I then heard there might be a hidden T-Mobile Access Point Name Setting in my phone that could be interfering. I then rooted my phone and followed some instructions posted by TheUnlockr site for deleting hidden APNS. I used APN backup and restore app, but my phone let me know that no Third Party Apps can be used on APNS for Android 4.0+.
I have a buddy who is using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and his works on the network.
So, if anyone has any ideas that could help me figure out what the actual problem is, I would really really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Hello all,
Prior to going to the US last September I had checked with my carrier (Vivo) in Brazil that the 4G-LTE frquency they use is 2.600MHz. When in the US, I managed to buy the above said device and brought home. Back home, as it was
unlocked my carrier's SIM card worked like a charm. It downloaded from the carrier's network the APN configurations and all was fine.
I went to the carrier's shop to try the 4G-LTE so I could bump up my contract. I tried the clerk's SIM card (he has 4G-LTE) and the signal icon changed from 4G to a smaller 4G with underscore LTE. But only the 3G and 2G APNs were found when searching networks manually.
I did rooted the device and removed the bloatware that came along using this xda-developers how-to.
Any idea how can I get 4G-LTE access on my device?
Thanks in advance,

I suspect your APN need modifying. Check the clerks APN settings against yours.
Your APN is set wrong. I'm not sure how to change it on the stock AT&T ROM though.

It's in the settings/tethering and networks/mobile networks/access point names. I have consumer cellular, but it leases from ATT, so it has slightly different settings, though ATT APN will work ok.

I had thought that menu was just tethering settings. That's embarrassing. :S
So I jumped on the AT&T/DirecTV Unlimited data deal and ported my phone today. It all looked normal and I got the activation texts and such - it even populated the nxtgenphone APN info (though it was deselected and I had to select it). Anyway, I've had no data at all. As a test, I switched the APN to phone and data works, but the speeds appear to be much lower than what my wife's iPhone is seeing on the nxtgenphone APN. Anyone got any tips?
I'm running Viper 2.5, latest US unlocked firmware and US unlocked selected as carrier, and it works fine on AT&T other than this......only other thing I can mention is when I select preferred band or whatever it shows WCDMA/GSM and if I change it to WCDMA/GSM/LTE it reverts back for some reason. Any help much appreciated. I've called AT&T and they're like, uh, we don't sell the HTC 10 so can't really help you... grrrrrr.....

I'd suggest ruu to stock us unlocked rom and see if the issue persists.
Or, try clean flash of viper.
I have no issues using US unlocked on AT&T with both stock rom and ice.
Thanks for trying to help. I just finished trying stock RUU and same problem. I'm convinced, as I was before, that this is AT&T's issue. I've read numerous posts this afternoon that because the HTC 10 (and other phones) aren't in their "LTE approved" database, nxtgenphone APN won't work, or it will only give HSPA speeds. Seems like everyone who has resolved it, or didn't run into the issue at all had another AT&T LTE phone they could use for the IMEI on the account, or the rep entered the model as an iPhone or similar to make it work. Really, really frustrating, as they refuse to help me and I'm starting to think I should just terminate in the 14 day window and do T-mobile or Verizon.
I have at&t and everything worked out of the box, I've never been on stock rom, always on Viper I did the unlock and s-off without a sim and never had an issue or called at&t to activate the device I just transferred my sim from my note 4 to the HTC 10, no provisioning issues at all, VOLTE works, LTE is fine as well while on a phone call... No issues... If you need anything to compare let me know

Thanks for replying. They did confirm it was a provisioning issue and they fixed it today. They had to do something different, as the default HTC 10 provisioning and IMEI check didn't fix it even when they tried it a second time, but they were able to adjust something and LTE definitely works now. VoLTE working here, too. Thanks!
