why thick? moto 360 - Moto 360

thick moto 360 Im waiting moto 360 2

the sughtsgr
I really don't think it's that thick, its about the same as some of the regular watches I've worn to be honest

I want to know why this watch isn't something else other than what it is, I just need to complain so that I can let everyone know that the things I "want" are more awesome that what actually exists, that way I seem smart.

I want my smartwatch to do everything my phone can do. That way, I can leave my phone in my pocket.
Irony. People actually want that. Seriously makes me chuckle every time. Doing so would kinda render that £500+ device in your pocket useless.

If you go to your local department store and look at the many traditional chronograph watches on display, I think you'll discover that the Moto 360 actually isn't that thick.

Guys...please lets not troll this thread....:good:

seems fine to me

What he said, and that's without even bringing Panerai into the mix.

Was just gonna say... Pretty sure my 360 is thinner and lighter than my G-Shock MTG920GA was.

Its thinner and more compact than any other watch over ever owned, so, im not complaining

thinner than the Timex Ironman HRM too. probably about the same weight.

I think it is the right amount of thickness. I wouldn't want it any thinner. If the watch could get thinner, then I say add a larger battery and keep the same size.

anyone know when the 360 2 comes out?

There is a small gap between the face and the body on my watch. Does anyone else have this as well?

Wow that's weird. Return that one! Definitely not ip67
Mine doesn't do this, but the two I have show stuck pixels. The quality control (if there is any) on these things is really disheartening. Dead pixels and now things like this start showing up?!? They hyped the watch for months, you'd think they could figure out how to make it correctly?

I talked with Moto support and they escalated it saying they hadn't seen that issue before. Since I bought it from Best Buy just 2 days prior they recommended I take it back and get another.
Well of course they are out so I just got a refund. Back to the waiting game again. :crying:

just checked mine, doesnt have it.
Went back to BB today and they had a silver. No gap, no stuck pixels, and it's charging as we speak. Since I used it for a few days before having to return it, I really missed some of the functionality. Will be nice to have one again. :victory:
Nope. Mine just had a gap like this on the left but not the right

Moto 360

Just got the Moto 360, so far, very nice. but I'll know more once i give it a full day's test. anyone else have it yet? your impressions?
It's on my Christmas list. I want the metal band one. I'm jealous!
Sent from my Moto X
I got mine, love it so far. I got one the day after launch and put a black pebble steel band on it. Battery life is shorter than other watches but hasn't been an issue.

i'm getting an easy 22+ hrs. seems to do more with how "active" your wrist is than anything else. lately at work, i've been taking off my watch to prevent my wrist from turning over when i type on the keyboard (frequent screen wakes). i usually get my m360 back on the charger with +50% from 7a-10/11p each day.

Battery impact is negligible on the moto x. I still get ~3hrs OST per day on the phone.
With the watch, I'm consistently at the 50% mark after 14 hours on my wrist.
I highly recommend it - certainly a nice extra motivational factor to get more active again.
I've been a fan of wearable tech since before it was practical. Still own a Sony Liveview (which will no longer stay in the band). I really want to like the 360 since it's round, and I have a Moto X that I love. But it looks large. Hope they come out with a smaller lady's version.
FWIW i took it on a 14hr trip and used it with GPS. had the watch off since 8a that morning, charged it up around the afternoon and then enabled GPS guidance. I don't think I got 11hrs before the watch completely died.
on the way back i didn't use GPS and somehow managed to get more than 36hrs. I took it off about 8a on Saturday and it didn't make it back to the cradle until 9:30p Sunday and it still had 23%!

SWR50 black band (rubber) is a static machine

Don't know if this is the case for many of you who is using the new smartwatch 3. My black band seems to attract fabric particles and dusts like crazy. The band itself looks really dirty and I had just cleaned it in the morning. The pictures below are taken after wearing the watch for 3 hours. And I am just wearing normal dress shirt. Actually, it doesn't matter what I weared as it was the same yeaterday.
See attached images...

Nice try, <fill in your own blank>... I was out and about over this weekend.
Back to topic, compared to my Gear Fit, I can wear it for 3- 4 days without taking it off and the band never does this. Hopefully, we got our metal band soon.

May be... it is getting cold here in Central PA, USA. About 40°F.
Same problème. My black band is grey.
I will own one soon. It might be a stupid question but if you pour water over it does the dust come out ?
It's quite easy to wipe off with your thumb, but it's there when you use some fibre sweaters...

Yes, the dust and particle are very easily wash off with water. Still rocking mine.
Yep
At least it a color changing band...It's a major dust magnet. I usually run my through the faucet everyday.
Can't really complain. Its winter it's often underneath sweaters/jackets and it's almost pristine. Actually I love how it feels, it's very ergonomic.

Go for the black marker, brah. It will probably wear off in a day or two, nothing to be afraid of. Apart from that, I think there's not much you can do about it :/

Ok you could pm me with some one's
Just write "anodizing aluminium" in Youtube search engine
Hey!
Anodizing is an electro-chemical process that surely needs special tools and skills...
I shouldn't do nothing, as we don't know how all that can affect the internal stuff. Be sure that the anodizing process in factory is made BEFORE circuitry introduction.
But, wait: anodizing is for aluminum, and Moto 360 is made of STEEL!!
360 is CHROMED!

I thought the silver version was just polished stainless steel?
Remember stainless steel is normal steel with a percentage of chrome added.
Chrome plated is electoplated metal

Stainless steel is often a 18 % chrome 8% nickel combination, yes. But, do you want to elecroplate your nice electronic toy?

Hand held Gimbal that works for S8+ and GoPro?

Looking for a Hand held Gimbal that I can use both my phone and GoPro on. The cheaper the better but I understand I don't have many options. Any Ideas?

You might want to explain what a gimbal is or why you need it and in what context you'll be using it. you mention gopro so potentially, it would be in a rugged environment or sports.
Just saying, if you want responses, clarify.
Yep, Also never heard of it...

fancy word for selfie stick
I use a ikan FLY-X3 PLUS, It works great as long as you don't have lots of wind hitting the phone. Its better with my S7 or GoPro.

Gimbals are definitely not just selfie sticks. They're for producing cinematic quality video and are quite effective when used correctly. I've got a DJI Osmo Mobile that i was using with my S7 but I havent had a chance to try out the S8+ on it yet. I'm going to guess that it'll be pushing the limits on the motors for it though.
Anyway... just set it up for the S8+... Looks like it'll work alright but no way your gonna get it to work inside a case and you've basically got to adjust the thing to the limits of the device. I'm sure the weight and size will put stress on the motors and use more battery than normal, but it does work.
Sorry for the sideways pic:

Zhiyun smooth Q, cheaper than osmo and can function comparable to it.
