I want to be able to connect my Samsung Smart Dock to my PC and view the content on my Galaxy Note 4. Is this possible, and if so, how? Essentially, while using my computer, I want to be able to type my texts with a keyboard, without having to switch to a different HDMI port on my monitor, or dealing with the hassle of unplugging my keyboard and mouse to and from my PC and to and from my Smart Dock.
I dont know about all of that but if you use AirDroid you can do everything in your phone on your pc, along with some other nice wireless options. And its free.

Still hoping for a way to do presentations from a Galaxy tab.
Anyone has a pointer to potential wireless to vga ?
If you have a PC connected to the projector (or networked), all you need to do is use an app to connect to PC VIA wireless network and have the PC output directed.

That would output the PC screen; I think he wants to show the tablet screen; unfortunately I've never heard of wireless video transfer from any mobile device. It's a good idea, but I don't see it happening for a few more years.
Not quite.... what you need is an app that allows one to control the tablet, ergo, the view on the PC desktop would actually be of the tablet, and therefore could (in theory depending on your setup) be output to the projector. There is such an app (for allowing PC to control tablet) but I cannot recall name. Sorry.
...or use Samsung GT HDMI adapter together with Wireless HDMI adapter

The Samsung multiport doesn't ouput power, so external solutions couldn't work (unless you've found a way to produce radio signals without electricity...).
You can always use a external power source, like a battery. I use one and works fine.

I used to be able to view and control some of my older phones on my PC through the USB connection, but I haven't been able to find out if this is possible yet with android phones, specifically my new GN2. I know I can get the dock and hook up one of my PC monitors to a switch, and I also know there is a way to connect a bluetooth keyboard/mouse, and then use a HLA adapter to run a monitor. I have also looked at a couple programs that use VPN connections to "host" android devices on websites that you can access with your PC via web browser, but as far as I can tell you are limited to what you can do (web browser, messaging, email).
I'm really looking for a stand alone program that I can open on my PC that, when connected to my GN2 via USB, will duplicate the devices display in a window and allow control of the device with the PCs keyboard and mouse. Does such a program exist? Thanks all.
i have never seen anything like this. What would be the purpose of this?
To control my phone with my workstation peripherals while at work if I want to view a website that is blocked by my works firewall, or simply to respond to a text message without having to turn on my phones screen
i want to run program on my laptop which is used to change setting on a esc (electronic speed controller) through a usb cord.
i would like to do it remotely from my S3 with a OTG cable, wireless connected to my laptop
is it possible to run a windows program and have that program use the usb info wireless from the phones otg usb?
sorry if this is confusing
thanks
You'd have to plug the USB into the laptop and use Splashtop. Can you explain better the situation you're in?? Draw a diagram or something hah...
i need the laptop at home, phone offsite.
phone needs to act as wireless usb and run .exe off computerr
That's just not going to happen. Any reason you can't take the laptop with you? Seems like a quick and easy solution.
So from what I'm getting is that the esc is plugged into the laptop, and you wanna change it's settings from your phone wirelessly? Then on the laptop, download vnc server, on the phone, from the market, download vnc and use vnc to connect to the laptop and control it as if you were in front of it.

Is there a way to transfer files in mass via WIFI Direct to desktop? I don't want to use AirDroid that has some relation to someone else network...
I like the 1080p video and pics...and want to transfer them via wifi direct. I can't seem to find anything out there for it. Is hardwire the only way?

This is a good one. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer
I prefer this one though. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dooblou.WiFiFileExplorerPRO
I use AndFTP
I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.ftpserver&hl=en
Bluetooth is another option. A Bluetooth adapter can be had for a USB port cheap. I have a USB 4.0 adapter I got from a local office supply store for my desktop at work. This also allows me to stream Pandora through the speakers on the desktop PC, among other helpful things.
At home I have a NAS drive that is connected via FTP using ES file explorer. Works fine. Also, DLNA is an option, that works for me too. I can enable DLNA on the phone and copy to and from the device using my PS3 and laptop, or play music off my phone through my PS3, do photo slide shows, etc.
Hi guys, I've had a look through the threads but can't find any on asking the same question.
Is it possible to use mode with no Dock etc, I just want to use a mouse that I connect through the charge port, Im able to use the mouse, I want to use it in Dex mode.
I have the galaxy s9 SM-G960F, stock on latest UK os.
My Tab s4 has a toggle to switch to Dex, annoying that this doesn't.
You can with a dex station or dex pad. Or a usb-c to hdmi cable. However if you use the usb-c to hdmi cable u will have to use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Thanks for the reply but I knew all that, my question was can I just turn Dex mode on and use it on my phone, on the phones screen with no accessories. Like you can on the tab s4? I don't see why we can't :/
No mate, no option to do that. Not what i know of anyway
