[Q] LG Optimus Me P350's Recovery Mode? - LG Optimus Me P350

I have bought this phone on July 12th 2014, and I was quite happy with the phone, but then I realised I can only play 2 games: Hill Climb Racing and Fruit Ninja, so I thought: Maybe I can update Android? The answer was no, it could not update over Android 2.2.1. Then I started searching the internet and I saw an Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) ROM, so I clicked on it, downloaded the files, but then it said to boot on Recovery Mode, and, of course, I searched on Google. I found some forum posts that said to press POWER/End Call and Volume Down at the same time. It just booted the phone normally. I tried to search "How to enter recovery mode on LG Optimus Me P350" and I found a lot of forums that said to press Call, POWER/End Call and Volume Down at the same time. It deleted ALL my phone's data, except for the SD Card. Then I found a solution that I need ADB, so I installed it, runned it and then nothing happened. I went into Task Manager to see if the proccess is there, but it was not,so I decided running it again and it showed the proccess for half-a-second, but it dissapeared, restarted PC, nothing happens. (My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit). I found a Custom Recovery which required me to root my phone, so I tried a ton of programs, and nothing worked. Gingerbreak wouldn't root, it just stays there: Please Wait and I even left it over night, still rooting, Kingo Android Root would not recognize my device, USB Debgging is ON. And so on and so on... So I can't root, which means I can't get into Recovery Mode which means I cannot get Android 2.2.1 to ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) so I can't play any games except Hill Climb Racing and Fruit Ninja, which I am bored of. So I tried asking you:Is there a method to enter Recovery Mode without rooting on LG Optimus Me P350?

I rooted my P350 with ginger break and it worked ,and I think using clockwork recovery ROM manager would be the easiest way to flash a new ROM.
Try using Unlock Root Pro , it might help in rooting your phone.
Could you tell me how exactly, you ran ADB and what did you try that did not work.

Google play store
What if you just go to Google Play Store and install some games there?[/I][/B][/B]

Try to be contentive
Let me share this:
If you know my felling now,how sad I am just because of not to be contentive about the limitation of my mobile phone(LG-P350 like yours).Imagine, I want to have the most high Android version out of my simple mobile phone. What I did is I rooted my android and install some development untill I arrived at the point where I was unsuccesfully installed the Jelly Bean ROM and boom I was sad with the result. And then I pray to the Lord that I hope it going to be okay, that time was 12:30 am I am very very sad because that phone is just given by my auncle,I am the third user of it after his two daughter inherited on it and I don't want that only me will distract that phone..Actually I have planned to have suicide but it doesn't happen.I believe in God so Im not losing my hope that this phone will be back or be repaired.12:30 AM I cried and sleep.
Im awake and believing that all of those happened last night is just a dream but it doesn't work.I tried everything I can do but nothings work. One night at 7:00 AM I turn it to Recovery mode by pressing POWER+CALL+DOWN VOL. KEY( like what you did) and somethings happened but actually I do that process in a countles times last 12:30 AM but nothings happened. So I do some research and found the orginal ROM for LG-P350 and installed it in my phone then reboot and Boooom I am so very very happy and promise to the Lord that I will be Contentive start this time.....
Suddenly I turn back again into not to be contentive and do the same process and installed the ROM of NEXUS OPTIMUS ME KITKAT VERSION OF ANDROID and it work,Im so very very happy.
NOW this night Im still searching for the better version of android and found it then download it and do some process then boooooom! back again to my problem and turn it to recovery mode and NOTHING was happenned unlike before. I said to my self "It must not happen" "W H Y?"...Now the time is 12:25 AM suffering because of my sin to God that I promise Him not to do it again but I do...Now Im so very very very very SAD and planned to have suicide! because I think God leave me now and never give me chance again! What I will do now is believe in mercy that this phone when will turn to recovery mode TOMMOROW AGAIN ? ?

Hope you still have the phone,
You should get cyanogenmod 7 for this device, move it to the SD Card, format /system, clear user data etc, then flash cm7,
Also you should get Google Apps for Cyanogenmod 7, probably the most slimmed one
Hope I still helped even though it's been over half year.

cannot flash rom from android to windows...

I am having a terrible time getting my touch to take the stock windows rom. I was running one of the Adndroid builds for giggles, and had flashed the rom via the NAND method. I then decided that I wanted to go back to one of the 6.5 windows roms....problem is the touch is not liking it and neither is my computer...LOL.
How do I get the darn thing back to stock...that is where I ussually like to go first before I add any crazy awesome rom from here! Problem is that the phone is not recognized as being plugged in for active sync.....
I have even gone so far as to start the darn phone in boot loader (triple color screen) and then connec the computer. If I run the NFS rom that I would ultimately like on the phone....I will get a 262 error. Researched and found that it was because the phone does not recognize or is not unlocked.
Downloaded coke 2.31 tried to run it... and the batch file will not find that the phone is connected....LOL
Is the phone bricked? LOL....
Any help on how to get around all this (outside of buying a new phone...LOL) would be great!
admins please close this thread....I have found the problem and have fixxed it. Sorry to have wasted anyone's time.

Rooting LG Optimus BIG - WIP

Hello
I spend about 6 months in Korea as an exchange student, and picked up a LG Optimus BIG (Korea-specific phone AFAIK).
I liked the phone, and took it with me back home to Norway, assuming I could root it and use my Norwegian SIM card.
So I downloaded the official drivers from LGforum (LGAndroidDriver_Ver_1.0_All.exe),
grabbed SuperOneClick v2.3.3, and set to work.
The first time I plugged my phone into my computer, it was not recognized even though I had installed the official drivers.
After some frustration, rebooting of the phone, removing the SD card, and restarting my computer, it suddenly worked, showing all OK in "Devices and Printers".
Starting SuperOneClick, it started off successfully, rebooting the device, and going as far as "Shell rooting device... - Step #3". (pic included below)
Then the program froze, and causing my entire computer to hang and chew RAM.
I restarted my computer, restarted the phone, and restarted the program, but the same thing happened.
Yes, the phone is in debugging mode.
No, I have not mounted the SD card.
Will try doing it in recovery mode now.

seems like there is no recovery mode for this phone :-(
checked the "About Phone"
- Model number: LG-LU6800
- Android version: 2.2.2
- Baseband version: MDM6600
- Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
- Build number FRG83G.V128.421e1e05
- Software version: LU680128, Sep 27 2011
attempted to install and run "z4root", unsuccessful
installed Android SDK.
opening terminal and typing "adb devices" lists one device, i.e. I have a connection with the phone at least...
copied GingerBreak to the SD card, no luck with that one either :-(

edit#2
tried to install UPK
device seems to automatically kick out any attempt to install things via USB, maybe it's a driver error after all?
will grab a new USB cable, un-install drivers and look for the original Korean drivers

SUCCESS!
new USB cable, re-installed drivers, and managed to achieve full root with BlackJack (originally created for Optimus Black)
now to play around with it for a while and see if I'm able to extract any goods before trying a new ROM
Rooting Optimus Big
I'm in Korea right now and I have an Optimus Big. I'd like to root it while I'm here, because honestly I'm use to Ice Cream Sandwich and the downgrade to Froyo is driving me mad. I was wondering if you could give me any information on rooting the phone and also if I root it? Will my phone stop working with SK?
Hey
Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy trying to find a job
Like I wrote in the original post, it's rootable via BlackJack tool (fin it in the LG Optimus Black sub-forum).
Since I canceled my contract (LG U+) when I went home, I don't know if the phone will stop working or not...
It works with my Norwegian SIM card though, but that's not locked down in any way like phones/SIM cards are in Japan/Korea...
I successfully upgraded to ICS, but re-installed the original software for the time being.
Finding software for the TV seems pretty impossible, and camera support on the ICS ROM that I have access to is buggy as hell
Maybe nobody needs this anymore, but...
I have successfully achieved root on my Optimus Big (LU6800) running Android 4.0.4 ICS by using Unlock Root (I cant post a link since im new here but a quick google search will do!). It was fast and easy, not that I am officially endorsing them in any way. Just my opinion. Now if i could just get CWM running...

[Q] Can't get phone to re-root, please help

Previously I had installed on my phone (I believe, but could be mistaken) a Twilight Kernel and Hurricane v1.6 Rom. Well, I had nothing but problems with the rom, and put up with them for some time, just because I didn't have time to go through and find a rom I liked and flash it. I decided to do just that yesterday.
Apparently my mind broke and I did something wrong (probably numerous things). I had first attempted to put the shiney new CWM9 with Shadow Kernel on, rather, I made the mistake of trying to just put the Shadow Kernel on after having done a full (triple) wipe on my phone. I got the boot loop for the kernel since there was no rom (duh) loaded. Okay, no problem, I'll toss a rom on the SD and boot into CW3 and flash it? Yeah, not so much. I got a short "Samsung" logo boot loop and could not get into CW3 after that.
So, I Odin'd it back to EL30, thinking I'll just start from fresh, right?
Wrong.
Next in the series of mistakes I made, I forgot that I had already downloaded and installed the Samsung drivers (don't ask, my brain was apparently on leave yesterday) and attempted to re-install them. They did not like this and would not progress and I had to End Process the install from Task Manager. I then uninstalled the drivers completely fearing that I may have corrupted them by trying to re-install and then EP'ing them.
I then re-installed them, or so I thought. Plug phone in and start again with One Click Root. Fail. The script couldn't find my device.
Hours of searching and trying different things later, script still couldn't find my device, though I now have both the phone recognizing there is a USB connection, and the computer has stopped yelling at me that there are no drivers (I believe it finally gave up and installed the Windows drivers for it). But still can't get it rooted or do anything but stock stuff.
So..
1:Samsung drivers won't install, running Windows 7-64 Ultimate; error at end of install just states: "The MMS InstallWizard was not successfully installed SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones v1.3.450.0."
2hone previously recognized USB Debug mode, but no longer. Will only Recognize standard USB connection, and with the connection made to PC, the script will not recognize the device.
3:adb for all intensive purposes does not appear to be loading..per the message from the script "Root was not obtained after 60 seconds. Make sure the phone is connected and that adb is working. If adb shell isn't root, reboot the phone and try the script again." I've rebooted numerous times, but I'm pretty certain that since it's not going into Debug, it's just not being recognized.
I have even tried Gingerbreak with no luck, just continuously sits on the rooting screen, but never proceeds (upwards 45 minutes I let it go).
Please please please please help me fix all the mistakes I did and get this thing working again and get the damned drivers installed proper.
(Baseband-S: D700.0.55.EL30, Kernel version 2.6.35.7, Build number: Gingerbread.EL30)
Note* I am happy with any root/kernel/rom at this point, I don't care, I just want the damned thing rooted again.
And of course after I finally cave and post for help, I find the thread where it clearly states OneClick Root no longer works for Gingerbread...so we'll add that into the mistakes I made...
Question still stands, how do I get this rooted again?
Qbking77 youtube him...
Or I could do it for you remotely via teamviewer... either way

If you are up and running EL30 just Google How to Root Samsung Epic on EL30 and a qbking77 youtube video will pop up and all the links are there as well for the files you need. If you are not up and running then you need to go into the Roll Up sticky thread in Development and click on How to Restore a semi-bricked Samsung Epic....all links are there for that including 64bit drivers.

[Q] Why does everything go wrong when I try to do it?

Okay, this might not be the place to get some divine intervention to start (or stop) happening, but I'm really starting to get a nervous breakdown and I desperately need some help. I'm going to tell you my story, because it's my last resort before throwing this phone in a fire and never buy anything Samsung related ever.
So the phone came out of the box and for some magic reason I got the bootloader unlocked and phone rooted. It all started with installing CWM I think. This stopped my phone from taking OTA updates. Of course I could have known, but for some reason I installed CWM. I don't know why! I regret it, I don't even want a different ROM installed, I thought it was necessary to root the phone. So when I got the OTA, at first I was like YEAH YEAH, but then the on the back laying android with the exclamation mark turned up and I felt like I wanted to kill someone. It was 2 in the morning and I had to get up early to go to Dublin for two weeks. This was really not the time...
So after trying a few times of getting the OTA update message again and failing every time I got it, I started searching. Yes, CWM is installed so you can't OTA they all said. Nice, now I hate on the back laying androids AND CWM. Of course the one to hate is me, but I already hate myself so that's no use. Anyway I used the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit 5.6 to put back stock recovery. Now I had to wait a few weeks again before the update turned up again... By this time the phone started to be REALLY slow when scrolling through the home screen(s). It also is empty before the day is done, but I don't know if that's because of the phone being f'ed up or because I'm too demanding.
Anyway, back to the story. Finally the update came about a week ago, and again I was like YEAH YEAH! But then the on the back laying android with the exclamation mark turned up and I felt like I wanted to kill someone. To make things more fun it did a reset of my Go Launcher, 7 screens of widgets and autistic arranged shortcuts gone... Of course I wanted to try again, so this morning the OTA came again and had the same result. By now I killed quite a few, so this has to end, but don't worry there is more torment ahead.
I can't figure out what is wrong now, so I thought, f~ this s~, this phone deserves a full undress and back to the womb operation. So installing all Galaxy Nexus Toolkit v6.0 stuff and drivers. Connect phone, start toolkit, choose 3 (GSM 4.0.2. build ICL53F), phone turns up in main menu, try to put back recovery, -waiting for device-...
It stopped... Or it didn't really stop, it just stood there saying, -waiting for device-... So again a few innocent people died. Tried a different choice, (relock bootloader, just to give the phone a good beating) -waiting for device-...
I raged, pulled my hair, again killed a few, silently cried in a corner and finally started typing this eulogy...
Please kind sirs and madams, help me get this phone back to stock 4.0.4, accepting OTA, bootloader unlocked and rooted, I'm really desperate...
Why did you even root it? If u have root and cwm, you should be able to flash the rooted version of whatever stock os update you want. OTA's are a waste, you just wait a few hours for xda devs to root it and make it flash able.

How do you proceed?
First you need the SDK for you system
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
After this you have to start the SDK manager and install "Android SDK Tools" and "Android SDK Plattform-tools" if you are using Windows you have to install USB drivers too. You could find this under the point "Extras".
After that you have to download the factory image to clean your device, once.
(Notice your SD-Card gets wiped)
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Look for right version, which fits to your device.
Now you have to bring your telefon into the bootloader by pressing all 3 buttons at the same time Volume+/Volume-/Power. After this you have to unlock your bootloader if you don't already done this.
Now plug in your phone into your computer an go into the unpacked folder from your factory image. There would be an file called flash-all. You have to run this file. Now your phone is flashed with stock rom, stock kernel newest baseband and stock recovery. Now you get ota updates from google. After this you should look for an howto root your phone in the developer section. You don't have to install clockworkmod recovery for rooting. But clockworkmod isn't change the ota. You get OTA with cwm.
Hope i understand your problem an you could understand my bad english. But i want to help. If some questions ask here into the thread.
regards

When the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit says "-waiting for device-..." you need to turn off your phone, press the volume down then the volume up then the power button together. Once you have done that the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit will continue.
There is also tutorials on youtube on how to use the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit.
I hope that helps.
If you want to head back to stock ROM, then one of the ways to do it would be to install Android SDK & then follow the instructions from Google developers site.
Else you can try using the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit to do this for you. I think the latest version is 5.7.

Ah yes, I now see where I went wrong with the toolkit, I didn't put the phone in fastboot. Stupid...
How is the stock recovery supposed to look like? After putting back stock recovery with the GN Toolkit, I press 'vol+/vol-/power' and choose recovery. It then displays the belly up android with exclamation mark. Is that the way it should be? Am I doin' it wrong?
yes it is the stock recovery. But you dont need it. Flashing everything into fastboot mode(bootloader)
So, I'm currently running a stock phone, but OTA won't update my phone...? Why is OTA constantly failing if I'm running everything stock? Is my bootloader supposed to be locked? Is a rooted phone not updated OTA?
If you flashed the latest Factory-Image there is no OTA out there. It is the newest version of ICS for your Device.
Maybe i don't understand what you mean with failing OTA. Could you explain it a little bit more?
As I said in the long story, I'm currently 4.0.2. and every time when my phone says, "You have update 4.0.4. standing by, please reboot" it fails.
i would prefer to flash the factory image and root your phone again
then you have a cleaned phone and OTA should work but you don't need them because you are at latest version.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
i wrote how you could flash it page before, remeber you wipe your data from sdcard

I don't know if I can answer why the OTA isn't working (I'll leave that to smarter men than I), but having an unlocked bootloader and root access won't stop the OTA. I had my phone in that state when the 4.0.4 update came out and all was fine, just had to run the command to get root of my phone again as OTA removes root.
Ah great! S~ has just hit the fan, it's bootlooping after trying option 8 (flash stock rom from google). Oh I really am going to kill myself sooner or later...
Edit: not killing myself yet, just had to pull the battery... Let's see what I f~ up next...
Very strange you problems i don't know the Toolkit and don't know how it flash the stock rom. But i could imagin that it only flash rom and not the other things like recovery and so on.
Try out the hard way without toolkit and use sdk and included batch file into the factory image. it is the clean way and you see whats done.
Ok, I now rebooted the phone after option 8 in the toolkit and it seems I'm running 4.0.4. I have to go to Brussels now for two weeks, but I'll try to post some screenshots later. I'll also be back to thank all of you for holding my hand, I just don't have the time right now. Of course this won't be my last problem (I still have a TF101 that needs some RMA action), but I hope I won't be needing too much time consuming support anymore.
Just got in the hotel, and unable to use my phone in Belgium. No available network... Wifi works, 2G/3G works in The Netherlands, 2G/3G unavailable in Belgium...

If you dont want to root and or flash roms, and knowing android its buggy and you gotta be stuffing with the phone all time to be able to be up to date, cuz even google releases updates oftem and even with OTA things can go wrong, meaning you have to do stuff again...
Dont blame Samsung or google the whole system needs some fixes all time.. I was devoted to stock but after i tried AOKP (Milestones) i wont ever go back to stock and or another rom, these guys has loads of features for a better user experience, stable as hell, and great support, but as you show with your very active/traveling life and those killer instints (poor innocent people), why dont you just go Iphone?
No need to flash anything and will plain work... Thats it no need to worry about anything but being an apple fan boy xDD
Cheers

If you dont want to root and or flash roms, and knowing android its buggy and you gotta be stuffing with the phone all time to be able to be up to date, cuz even google releases updates oftem and even with OTA things can go wrong, meaning you have to do stuff again...

Is there anything I can do?? Locked bootloader R800x, rooted.

Hello. I've rooted my Verizon Xperia Play, but I can't unlock my bootloader. I've checked the service menu, I don't have the ROOTING STATUS menu, and the Flashtool identifies BOOTLOADER STATUS:UNROOTABLE.
I've tried Sony's unlock site but my MEID contains letters whilst the website states it has to be numeric. I've used the S1tool with the TP method and S1tool appears to hang, with the green bar along the bottom freezing after the "usb connected" noise plays; but if I unplug the usb I get an error, so I know the application didn't crash. I don't know if I'm letting go of the contact, or even if I'm doing it correctly because almost all pictures of the TP method are gone. I also don't know how long the S1tool TP procedure should take, and I've (or I think) held the contact for 15 minutes without any prompt or change in the program.
I don't know what to do now, or does this simply imply a sealed fate? Is it just not possible for me to unlock my bootloader?
I really need to partition my storage and ram but apparently can't without an unlocked bootloader.
(wrote all this with on-screen keyboard, sorry about errors/confusion)
Any help is deeply and sincerely appreciated!!
Thanks Again,
From a Newbie
haha I didn't think anyone would be in the same boat as me, let alone within the same year
I've been scouring the web for probably a good 5 hours on this and I'm stuck right where you are. By some miracle, I was able to find all the files I need for CM9, the flash tools, Gapps, and etc.
I also was able to get it rooted, and in dt674's guide I'm stuck on step 15. Fastboot recognizes my device and all the files but when I try to send the recoveryPLAY.img it returns the "FAILED" error and tells me that it has to be rooted first... Even though it already is rooted... I would assume it would have to do something with the bootloader still being locked, and like you, the Sony website didn't accept my MEID code for not being entirely numerical... If I find anything else out though I'll keep in touch.
I'm in the same boat as you guys... Managed to get my R800X rooted by flashing to 2.3.3 then using the oneclick method, but I've got the same issue with the bootloader and the numerical MEID.
Honestly given the Xplay's age I think we're pretty much SOL and too late to the party when trying to look for support on this device. Most of the ROM links are dead, and the more supported/popular ones are for the GSM models, and the ones that still have their files hosted require an unlocked bootloader at that. Unless one of you guys has a magical solution for why our MEID's are messed up I'm stuck on 2.3.3 for now. At least I can still sideload mostly everything I need.
Yeah I'm pretty sure zzkoto is right lol. Just too damn old haha, so we're SOL.
I have reached out to the developer site support though, and I'm trying to get them to investigate the problem regardless. I've only gotten one email back in...a two month time period about? So we'll see what happens. Apparently they updated their site and fixed the problem... but it's still broke for me. Will post if I get any juicy details from them, or they email me about any fixes with the MEID errors on the site.
LADS, so they HAVE fixed their website, it's just at a new URL, and they haven't decommissioned the old one yet for some reason, which can be found in this very hyperlink.
And it works great, I got my code after inputting my MEID, shoved that into an ADB string and ka-blammo it's unlocked no problem.
Now I'm running LuPuS Kernal with CM9, but now I'm hitting a brick wall where the darn Wifi won't even bother to turn on (when it did with stock before) which I guess is a problem with R800x and the Play in general... Back to the drawing board lol.... Think I'm gonna scrap the CM9... Anyone Come across any good Kernal/Rom combos that make the Xperia Play a lean mean Emulation Machine? I'm feeling some classic PS1 MGS lately...
Alright here's one last update, just in case y'all have the same problem as me with Wifi.
I went back to stock 2.3.4 and my recovery Kernal, and Wifi worked again, so I decided to try something different. Installed DoomLords 2.3.3 Kernal v01 (the only download that worked on that page). Then after booting into recovery, I restored into Cola v6. After that I installed DoomLords wifi modules zip in CWM and boom wifi works again, and Play works completely as intended. Only hang up now is that the Android Market won't let me download anything because it's so old, but It's easy to get the apk's on my other phone and move and install them. Other than that it's incredible. Happy hacking y'all.
Great find on that bootloader fix mate, I'll have to look into that and getting some custom ROMs/kernals installed.
For the market not working, Google discontinued support for the old Android Marketplace services or something back in early 2017. But if you install the latest 2.3 compatible version of the Google Play Store, Google services should be back up and running with modern-ish apps.

Yo I figured it was something like that haha but I was overthinking it way too much. Thanks for the link to the Market, now I'm gonna go ham and get ALLL the emulators lol. Retro games here I come!
