You can get some from the Play Store, Amazon, Netflix and Hulu. Also if you have ROKU, I believe there is an app for that too. Yes those are all paid, but it is a place to start. Also, most networks (at least in the US) have either an app or way to view shows on/from them.
I do hope that you are not asking about torrent sites and how to use them. If you are, then Google is your friend and please do not post such on XDA.
I'm doing Netflix hulu and the occasional red box instead of cable right now, saving a bloody fortune streaming media to my smart tv from my note

Xbmc then add navix plug in and you will get all tv series, movies etc.
I'm looking for apps. .. Nothing I need to buy hardware for. .. I live in Canada so Hulo etc don't work well here. Thanks.

So you want completely free, "latest" releases and current tv series all through an app.... Let me know if you find anything because I've stuck my head in that hole and there's no turtle to be found.

There should be a decent streaming video app somewhere

I haven't heard of any that are free... Why wouldn't Netflix work well in Canada, the Internet is the Internet no matter where you are.

But first use an app such as adaway to disable some of the ads

Plex : http://plexapp.com/
Host your own videos on your HomePC, play on virtually every device type, share with your friends.
The only thing you pay for is 5:00 for the Android client and possibly the iPhone client, but it is an iPhone... who cares about those
Have you tried Crackle?

How are you enjoying XBMC on your Nexus 7?

I'm new to my Nexus 7 and new to XBMC.
How do you have XBMC set up? What are you using it for? Are you using it to stream from your desktop? Do you use it to watch movies stored locally on your Nexus? Music?
What are the must-have add-ons?
Thanks!
All of the above
Using mainly for streaming with navix add-on.

I use it like a media player to play movies which have been downloaded. It seems to be able to handle any format or codec easily. It also does tons of other things which I haven't got into yet.
Hope this helps.
I would recommend VLC over that.
I don't use it on my Nexus 7 but xbmc is used on my htpc. I stream everything (shows) through my htpc and I also have a server running 24/7 for my personal movie and music collection. I do run subsonic off of this server as well and my Nexus 7 streams from subsonic.
Check out ice films too! Navi-x and ice films is where it's at

Xmbc and the add on hubs like 1chan and ice films. Works better than that sh*tty 1chan app

The last time I had streamed Crackle it was free. Good luck.
Use Aptoide to get tv portal that's the best in my opinion

That 1chan app sucks compared to xbmc with 1chan ....lots more settings etc on xbmc plus u can get others like icefilms etc espn

Actually, just started using the 1channel app again and other than the 15 second wait to watch things, it's working pretty darn good.
My XBMC was acting up so I opened the 'ol 1channel app to watch all the new shows today (Hardcore Pawn, Storage Wars, Zombieland, etc).
Still will use both, thinking about even buying pro version of 1channel, if it streamed the movies, it would be a done deal.

Thanks for the info on xbmc! Set mine up with super repo, 1chan, ICE, and YouTube. Looks like there's a ton of skins and add-ons... Guess I'll be busy for a while

Is there a way to add stream-tv. Well it looks like if you don't have the app you want be streaming 1channel as the domain changed. Glad I have both XBMC and 1channel app!
I was using xbmc with no problem. But then I did a flash to a new ROM, but restored my old one afterwards. Now when I access xbmc it will not let me install or play any add ons. Have anybody ever run into this problem?

1channel has changed domains so you can't stream from that hub anyways... As far as your question... I had issues adding addons. I just keep trying and they finally install.

Nfl games

Last season I used to be able to stream games on my phone with first row sports. So far this season it doesn't work. Does anyone know another way to watch games when I'm not home. It drives my girlfriend crazy when I used to watch games on my phone but sometimes you just got to do it

I am able to watch firstrow1.eu on S4 using Firefox with Adobe Flash installed. It's one of the few things that I use Firefox for, but that alone makes it worth keeping on my phone.
