Is there a Note 4 Volume hack? Like the Note 3 at the very least to manually edit the files?
I am a bit hard of hearing and would love to have one at least for my alarms lol.

My guess is not without root as those files are system files and not accessible without root.

Removing dialler keypad sound "drip"

Hey guys,
I've been trying to have the qwerty keyboard click but not the waterdrop on the phone keypad.
I'm rooted and ive replaced the three .ogg files in system/media/audio/ui and even after rebooting and the sound still happens. Ive removed them, renamed them, and replaced them and I cant stop the drip sound.
Now im starting to think the sound is stored somewhere else. So does anyone know where im going wrong.
Many thanks,
Luke.

To disable the sound.... go to Settings. . Sound. .system/disable Key tones
You can also do this from menu of dial pad... on dial pad screen press menu. .Settings. .
To change it. ..well it should be somewhere inside the system folder in the same path labeled key tones
scribbled from my note 2 (N7100)
But then the qwerty keyboard doesnt click dude. Thanks anyways

Anyone know the answer?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yep, I know the answer.
I've been trying to do this myself, the answer is that the sound is in the SecContacts.apk. So you need to grab that from your phone and navigate to res > raw and the file is touch.ogg. Just replace that with another sound of the same name. From there on I'm not 100% sure of the process since I haven't done it myself but you may have to decompile/recompile the apk to do it properly (but again I'm not sure). With the new sound in the apk you just need to flash it back to your phone.
I am new to Android so this kind of tweaking is beyond my skill level ATM, but the bloop sound is so damn annoying I think I'm going to get rid of it soon!

SideSync 3.0 and Note 3

I've been using the 8.4 for a few days now and while I really enjoy the SideSync feature to sync up my Note 3 phone when it's not on hand, I haven't been able to open a keyboard to actually type anything, respond to a text message etc.
I was wondering if there is anyway to activate a keyboard.
Thanks!
My keyboard auto pops up.

Same here, but I can't get mine to connect without launching the phone app each time
I have to launch the app each time too.
Does your battery on your note 3 not like just drop like a rock? Seems for me when it is connected by wifi direct it just drops like a rock.
I found the solution. I installed a S5 keyboard on my note 3 and it worked after that. I'm running Effortless rom on my t-mobile note 3, that's where I got the keyboard linked below.

Thanks! Working great now. Last question - is it possible for me to install a zip file without having a rooted phone? My note 3 isn't rooted.
To install that particular zip, you need root. It needs to write that keyboard to the system folder which is only writable if you have root

Grabbed the zip and flashed it. But now my Samsung Keyboard isn't working at all - I'm getting a force close whenever it's set as the default.

So has anyone solved this problem of having to launch the app on the phone each time? It'd be much more useful if we can keep the app running on the phone so we don't actually have to physically get the phone in order to use it.
I saw in the ads that we can answer/make calls from sidesync... but when i tried it won't allowed me.. is it just me?

Hello,
I am new to Samsung and have a question.
Previously I have been an HTC user, and was able to restore a Developer version (HTC ONE) ROM to a At&t (HTC One) through TWRP.
So is it possible to flash a non At&t STOCK ROM to my At&t Note 4?
And also how would I go about rooting manually. CF-autoroot not available for the At&t version.
Thanks..
Nasvi, due to that att's bootloader is locked we are unable to flash any sort of custom recovery. As for root, I'm also hoping that someone finds root soon. It could take a while for a work around to getting a custom recovery, as it took the ATT G3 around 3 months for a workaround. If your looking for an alternative, I would get an international or the tmo note4. Hope this helps.

Will someone who has the ATT Note 4 run a carrier iq detector and post the results? Thank you so much!
Sorry to tell both of you AT&T = no root access. I did want to att but going to get the Tmo. Why because of this guy here>>>

Was wondering if someone could post some video links or other tutorials on how to use the phone...
Thanks

Where is root and driving mode? Does this phone support a usb dac?
Carrier name in top left
Does anyone know how to remove the 'AT&T' that always displays in the top left corner of the screen on the top bar? It's annoying. I tried looking through settings but not sure if I found anything that could turn it off.
Need Root access to remove the carrier ID

No.
Is it just me or do you find yourself hitting the back button more often. Sometimes for me it doesn't seem to register after the first hit. I have to hit it a second time to get it to go back.

How do I set the internet browser to open links in new tabs and I stay on the current page? I know this was a setting on my S3, but cannot find it on my Note 4.
How to reach items on the keyboard?
On the keyboard each item has what on other keyboards might be thought of as "ALT" symbols. As an example "n" might have a ";" in the upper right corner. However if you use the capital the small "n" becomes a capital "N". As there is not an "ALT" key I cannot figure out how to reach those figures.
Thanks (you said nothing too stupid after all)

Does the S pen on the Note 4 work with the back button? I know it didn't on the Note 2 and that always bothered me.

Nice, that's the only thing I didn't like about the Note 2, just seemed like such a waste not to have included it. Now if my pre-order would just come in. Thanks

There are two ways you can use those alt symbols.
You can hold the button ie "n" has "," with the symbol you want and it will bring up the alt symbol.
If you hold "n" down it will pop up "," and you can insert that into what you are typing.
The other is switch to the symbol keyboard bottom left of the keyboard there is a Sym button tap that and it will switch to the symbols keyboard. There are 2 pages 1/2 and 2/2.
To return to ABC tap ABC.
There is one simple option I have been digging for since I got mine several days ago and still cant find it. Where is the option to enable multiple widgets on the locKscreen? This option was under lockscreen settings on my s4, but isnt on the note 4, cant find it under any of the settings.

[Q] Can we get the S6 keyboard?

I was wondering if there's any way to get the version of Samsung's keyboard on the S6 on my Note 4?
I think it is already out there somewhere.

From the instructions it looks like you do.

The instructions are very basic, they simply tell me where to place the files.
My note 4 IS rooted, I placed the 2 files for the keyboard in the correct places, but.. now what? d: It appears my Samsung Keyboard is entirely gone when I go to choose my input method, I have just Google and Swype.
Any tips? Thanks!
Doesn't look much different than the note 4 version.

True, I just found a post where someone had a flashable version, and honestly the subtle visual appearance changes are more than enough for me to do whatever it took to get the updated version! I love it, it's just cleaner than before
Lol ok as long as you're happy. It's just the one button that's a little different looking but seems to have the same function.

Want to Change S-Pen Sounds without having to use another app

The Note 20 Ultra is Great, but I would like to be able to change the S-Pen Sounds without having to install another App or a Launcher.
I would likento know where the Hidden Folder would be for the S-Pen Sounds so I can Change the Sound for when it is removed as well as it being put back.
If Anyone Knows this Information, then Please post it here for Everyone to see.
Agian, No Mods, No Apps, and No Launchers to change the S-Pen Sounds.

I'm going to just go assume you'd need root to change the audio files that are most likely located in the system partition.
Do you have the Exynos or Snapdragon variant?
Tried to on the 10+, no joy.
Be nice if there be a Good Lock apk to do this...
It's a new phone.... you're not gonna find a way this soon in the game to do it without some other app. Do they even have root yet for it? Cause those folders you need root to view.

They are apparently going to be releasing a Good Lock app for Spen customization. May include sound changes if you want something more "official"

Yea, that was the app I was referring to. Seems decent, just gotta find some good pointers and sounds.
The good thing about Pentastic is you can install it as a standalone, good lock is not required. Pentastic is pretty good fun to use, well worth a try, just to try out new pen removal and insert noises is worth it.
Those looking to add lightsaber sounds to spen, download the lightsaber notification sounds from the zedge and use timbre app to reduce the volume of those files by 50% since they are very loud. 50% less is perfect balance.
I didn't get it on the playstore.. you can down load the apk from other sources.

Everyone is Talking about Good Lock.
What My Original Post was referring to was for being able to change the S-Pen Sounds without having to Install ANY other Apps that eat up Space and Resources.
I wish that by going through the System Files somewhere in Android that the S-Pen Sound Files Can be Found and Replaced for Both taking Out the S-Pen and Inserting the S-Pen.
Hopefully the Sounds are in an MP3 Format and can be Swapped without Any Problems and would stay even after Updates.
