[Q] Trouble downloading & flashing the ROM zip file - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I am having issues getting the downloaded SlimKat S3 zip to work. When I go to flash it, it says It "cant open (bad)". Ive tried downloading the rom to my computer and then moving it to the SDcard, via an adapter. Ive tried re-downloading it & emailing it. Ive also tried downloading it via my phone's browser, but it still wont work. Does anyone have any other ideas so to how I can download this without it getting corrupt? Thanks. I have been trying to download Version 7 of the SlimKat S3 rom, and it seems no matter how I try to get it on my phone I always get "Cant open (bad)" when I go to flash it.

maybe check md5sum to make sure what you downloaded matches whats on the download page (?)

Installing roms with Rom Manager

A while ago I rooted my phone and installed Defrost's ROM, I followed the guide on the development forums and everything went great. However, if I try to install an new ROM (Open Desire) either through the normal recovery method or by using the Rom Manager, it opens in the recovery screen, I get the option to run the zip, but than the e:signature verification blabla error shows up telling me that it can't find the .zip. Before putting it on my SD card I changed the name to update (not update.zip), so that's not what's causing the problems, does anyone have any idea what to do different?
Thanks in advace
did you at any point change the content of the zip file? if im not wrong thats what the error msg is saying that the zip file doesnt match the signature anymore because it probably was altered

That's fairly simple. There are a variety of options for you to manually update to 4.3. First you can try downloading Samsung Kies 3 to your PC. Kies 3 is an enhanced version of Kies and is for system on Android 4.3 and up. If this doesn't work, then you may take the following steps:
1. Download the 4.3 stock ROM from the link below. If you would prefer to install the rooted and knox-free modified version of the ROM, you will find the link on the right side of the page. Otherwise, the official stock image is the file named AT&T_I747UCUEMJB.zip
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=438
2. Download the 4.3 stock kernel and modem zip files as well.
3. Copy the downloaded files from your computer to the internal SD card of your phone or to an external Micro SDHC card and place in your phone.
Power off your phone and boot into recovery mode by holding down the Power, Menu and Volume Up buttons simultaneously. When you see something flash across your screen, release the power button but continue to hold down the Menu and Volume Up buttons until recovery mode comes up (you may check You tube for videos of how to boot into recovery).
3. Install (flash) the downloaded files from wherever you stored them and wait for flashing to complete.
4. Wipe and reset your phone and you should be OK.

Thanks for quick respond! I tried first way but it's says it's only for newest version.
Then I downloaded the files and put them on external card without unpacking . And when I try to install it says.
--Install/sdcard/...
Finding update package...
opening update package...
Verifying update package..
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Am i doing something wrong? Or something wrong is with my phone?

No, there is nothing wrong with your phone. It would appear you are on stock recovery. It should be possible to flash a stock zip from stock recovery but sometimes it doesn't work and you may need custom recovery which has more enhanced features and functionality. Let's try doing it via custom recovery as follows ..
Download the Odin 3 v1.85 which is attached as a zip file.
Download the flashable TWRP file via the following link and save to a recognizable location on your computer ...
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-d2att.tar
Extract the Odin zip and run the executable file (*.exe). Make sure Odin opens.
Power off your phone and boot into download mode. Same process as you did with recovery mode except that this time, you'll be pressing Power, Volume Down and Home buttons. When you get to the warning message, press volume up to continue.
Connect your phone to the computer with a good quality USB cable. Since you have Kies, you probably have the required drivers for the phone to run on your PC. Make sure Kies is not open or running, however, not even in the background as Kies will conflict with Odin if both of them are open.
Go to the Odin window. Make sure it has recognized your phone. You will see 'Added" in the left pane as confirmation.
Click on the PDA button in Odin and navigate to the TWRP file you downloaded earlier. Select this file. Make sure it has registered in the PDA tab and then click Start. This will begin flashing TWRP custom recovery to your phone
Leave the Odin settings unaltered. The Auto-Reboot box, for instance, should be checked. Do not check or uncheck any boxes
Wait for the flashing to be complete and until you get the PASS message. Your phone will power off then and begin rebooting. The process is complete and you can now disconnect the phone from the computer
Power off the phone and reboot into recovery mode. You should now see TWRP recovery. Click on install and retry the process you tried earlier with the zip card. Hopefully, it will work this time. If not, we would try the ultimate solution which would be to download the complete 4.3 stock recovery image and flash via the same custom recovery.
When the installation is complete, please wipe your dalvik cache and do a hard wipe/reset then reboot into system
Ok so I did everything what you wrote. My phone reboot and now I have android 4.3 thanks!! But i couldn't turn on the wifi so i cleaned the cache againg and reboot the system and it's stuck on at&t sign and i can't do nothing. Did I broke my phone? HEEELP!

Don't worry. It's a minor problem. Try booting into recovery mode again and do a hard wipe/reset from there. Once it reboots, you will need to establish your Wi-Fi during the initial set-up
If you experience any further issues however, now that you have custom recovery, you may want to try the ultimate solution which is to flash the complete stock recovery image for 4.3. This will return your phone to full stock 4.3, reset your flash counter and also return your phone to stock recovery. In short, your phone will behave like a new 4.3 from the factory. Please see the file posted in the link below which you may download and flash via TWRP. So far, there have been no reports of failure with flashing this zip but please proceed at your own risk.

No I mean that when I press the "off" button on wi-fi it should automaticaly switch to "on" but it keep coming to "off" . I was reading somewhere that somebody had the same problem but I don't remember where. Oh and samsung kies saved my and helped me to came back to android 4.1.1 and I did the same thing and for now it's working on 4.3 but I still have problem with wi-fi. Ok I found the problem . I have wrong modem thats why I can't turn on wifi , but I can't find the right one.
Edit; I found out that when I install some thing it says
checking MD5 file
Skipping MD5 check: no Md5 file found.
Do you think that's the reason of the wifi problem

That's unlikely to be the cause of the Wi-Fi problem. Custom recovery makes that check when you are trying to flash a zip. Can you check what modem you have? You will see this written as baseband version under Settings => About Device

[Q] Did a stupid game just brick my phone?

My device is the Galaxy Nexus (Toroplus), with TWERP recovery 2.8.4.0. I did have SlimKat 4.4.4 running before attempting to flash CM 5.0.2 on the phone. Now I am without a ROM.
Here's my story. I had this stupid game by the name of Bloons Tower Defense 5 installed on the phone. I wiped my Dalvik one day and got an error message reading: " E: unable to stat '/data/com.ninjakiwi.bloonstd5.humble/files/Profile.save' ". After that, I was unable to run or uninstall the app. The phone would just reboot. I couldn't manually delete the files without the phone automatically rebooting either. With this irritating me, I decided that I wanted to install the CM 5.0.2 ROM. I threw the zip on my phone and wiped my current install. I went to install the new ROM only to be greeted (once again) by " E: unable to stat '/data/com.ninjakiwi.bloonstd5.humble/files/Profile.save' ". Great. So I went to the file manager and navigated to the directory for the game. I tried deleting, moving, and renaming the file that is giving me these issues. Nothing worked. Now I have no ROM, and can't even flash a new ROM, restore from a backup I had, or totally wipe the device. Each and every time I try to do anything, its " E: unable to stat '/data/com.ninjakiwi.bloonstd5.humble/files/Profile.save' ". Does anyone have any advice or a method to remove this garbage, other than snapping this phone in half? This is worse than Malware.
If I were you, I would find Odin and flash the stock rom and recovery back on it, although only select versions work with it. Search up "Odin for Galaxy Nexus toroplus".
I've bricked my previous Samsung 3 times and Odin was the only thing that could save it.
FYI: You have to be in download mode in order for Odin to detect your phone. And always follow all directions carefully. ALWAYS.
Hoped I helped!

OP3 Nougat OTA update Fails

Hey Guys,
I'm having a weird issue on my wife's OP3. It shows as the latest update is available for download.
I've been trying to download this update for the past 3-4 days now, everytime the download completes, it tries to verify the downloaded file and says "Cannot Verify the download, please download again". I have tried to download the full update atleast 5 times now and everytime the same issue.
The ROM downloads fine at around 5-6 MBps. However, after the download completes, the verification fails.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this. I have also tried to sideload, however, I'm getting "Can't read xxx.zip" error even though the device is recognized under "adb devices". Any pointers on how to fix this would really help.

You can try download full zip and try sideload. But sometimes, if the file too big, then the adb will not work. if adb cannot read, because filesize too big. Use laa_2_0_4.zip to fix the adb.exe first.

I did try to sideload and even saw this Large file fix thing on reddit. Tried it out, but it still didn't work. Will give it a shot again. will try to use google USB driver and see how that goes... Not sure if there is a utility for OP3 which can help with the sideload... Like Android Tools for Nexus..

One of the toolkits: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/toolkit-oneplus-3-toolkit-unlock-t3398799
But it is fun doing the flashing yourself, facing bootloop, anxious moments etc and then that feeling when you ultimately get it right!
You will be missing all that. Pity!
