Im not a developer but have a suggestion for those of you who are. Im sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
I love using the Edge Panel but find it frustrating that it turns off so quickly, especially when the phone is locked. Forcing you to do the vertical edge swipe to bring it back up.
It would be great if you could set the delay of it turning off, even the option to keep it on indefinitely, possibly dim after a period, similar to night clock.
Go to edge panel in settings. Look for information stream and at the top it lets you set the time out. Pic attached. There is also a night clock option that allows you to set a time frame when the edge panel will keep the time, date and weather displayed.

Thank you, I had missed that time out setting. now if only it could be made to stay on longer (hours) and set a time for it to dim similar to what the night clock does.

Who is your provider? I'm with Tmobile. If you don't have the option contact Samsung support and ask why.
I have the Korean model of GN Edge. Mine doesn't have the issue of timing out but it would've been nice to have this option.

I can only display the night clock 12 hours of the day. I asked Samsung why only 12 hours, they come back with that it is a night clock. My next question was: Ifso, then why can i turn on the night clock 12 hours of the day, whenever i want ? I can set it up to display the night clock from 9pm till 9am, but also from 9am to 9pm ??
What's up with that ? If it is a night clock, why can i turn it on during the day ? Why can't i just turn it on all day long ??
I know that there are panels you can download, but i dont want that. I want the samsung night clock to display 24 hours a day !

Do you know of a widget which will allow to set "silent mode" for just 10 minutes ?
I once had such widget but can't remember its name...

Just wondering, wouldnt it be easier to swipe down the Notifications pane and switch to Silent/Ring instead? i dont think there is a widget that does what you are asking.
Phone Silencer might satisfy your requirements. It's not a widget as such, but detects when you enter silent mode, and prompts you to specify how long you want the phone to be silent for. It's handy because you don't have to remember to disable silent after meetings or when you get up in the morning.

The thing is that I tend to forget doing that. I go inside a 90 minute lecture, and when the lecture is over, I sometimes forget to cancel silent mode, and continue with the day without hearing my phones alerts...
There is such a widget, I simply forgot it's name. When I pressed on the widget it showed me a list of times (5/10/20/30... minutes) so I would choose how long I want silent mode to go on.
Thank for the recommendations. Shush! and Phone silencer are good
Btw, does anyone know how to make the status bar toggle between Sound/Vibration/Silent. Currently I can do only Sound/Vibration or Sound/Silent...

Try "Setting Profiles Lite". I use it mainly for time duration profiles especially silent during meetings... Among other things. The full version is too powerful for what I need it to do.
Can be a widget or in the notification bar.
You can create a widget in tasker to do exactly that - I have mine run for 15 mins but you can have it prompt for a value. I use it when I walk away from my desk at work and my phone is charging. When I get back, if I remember I click the widget again to put it back to normal, otherwise it resets itself in 15 mins..
Definitely not worth purchasing tasker for, but on the off chance that you already have it..

Not to speak for OP but yes this is what he means. It goes off after about 3 seconds in the scenario you just mentioned. Only thing that "helps" is if you have smart stay activated it'll keep the lock screen on when you're looking at it.
But the reason this drives me insane is I have some apps, especially my SMS app, set to wake the screen upon receipt of a message. Well by the time I get the phone in my hand or out of pocket the screen is turning back off.

The only way to have control over the timeout period is to actually have a lock enabled. Rather it is pin, swipe, or pattern one of them must be enabled. The select Lock Automatically and then select the time you want it to stay on.
On my note 4 I noticed my screen was staying on lock screen for duration of regular screen timeout so I actually wanted the opposite of what you want. I then realized what was causing my lock screen to stay on if i pressed power button. It was the remote/peel smart widget on lock screen. If you enable it on lock screen it keeps your screen on for as long as your dimming timeout. Perhaps other lockscreen widgets might do the same.

What? ? Where is this setting at?
Im on OG5 stock unrooted, and its not under 'settungs/lockscreen '

Peel Smart is a Samsung app used to activate the the note 4 remote control features. It allows you to use the phone as a remote for tvs, devices etc. Inside the app there is a setting to enable the app on lock screen. Thats what allows my screen to stay on while locked.

Hey guys.
I just contacted Motorola to request some new features be added to the stock ROM (which in my opinion) would be crucial to increasing the functionality and battery levels of the watch.
Don't know if any Motorola Dev's/Engineers are following this site but just in case, I'd love to have these features asap.
Please add more if there is anything I have missed.
1. Have the ability to turn Vibrate OFF while still receiving notifications on the watch
Why ? Because I have my phone in my pocket constantly, and my phone vibrates when a new notification comes up. I dont need my pocket and my wrist vibrating together.
Also, Increase battery life.
2. Need to have the ability to turn off notifications for certain apps. For Example, I want the watch to vibrate when an SMS or Email comes through, but turned off for Messenger, kik, and everything else.
Also, by having this feature, Im sure a developer could write up a small app to install onto the phone which would tell the watch which notifications to vibrate for, and which to just display on the screen.
And again, this will save battery life by turning the vibrate motor off for (in my case) 90% of the notifications coming through.
3. Have a slider to control the level of vibration or the burst of vibration.
Why ? This adds a level of customization to the watch.
Also, I see people complaining that the watch doesn't vibrate enough while in my case, its vibration time is too long. By having the ability to shortening the vibrate time, you also save battery life (if not by much).
By having all 3 features embedded into the ROM, On the average user, it should increase battery life by almost double (if not more).

Pretty neat ideas. I have one id like to add lol. I want to be able to turn off motion detection for the screen. I had this feature on my galaxy gear and it gave me an day and half EXTRA battery with it turned off. We could get similar battery life (3-4 days with average use, custom rom too) if this was disabled. I had to always press the button to turn the screen on to check the time, but notifications still lit the screen up when they came in. Totally worth an extra 24-36 hours of battery . However i like the idea of being able to tap the screen to wake the moto360.
So basically I want motion detection disabled but leave tap to wake on.
Can't you turn off notifications for certain apps in the Android Wear app (mute apps)?

I like this idea because sometimes it's hard getting the watch to light up with motion, so turning off that feature for when it does work would be fine.
In my case, I have the phone vibration turned off and rely on the watch to deliver notifications.
My one and only important feature request is the ability to create my own canned response list.
Of course, official support for 3rd party keyboards would be nice as well.
Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode
I'm not sure if they intend to include Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode in their Lollipop release. Google chose not to include peripheral mode for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, although it is included with the newer Nexus 6 and 9. But for Android Wear, Peripheral Mode would enable a huge number of new and useful apps, that would significantly improve the usefulness of the watch. The simplest one would be a beacon to help you find your watch when you forgot where you left it, but enabling service solicitation would open a whole new world of applications for the watch.
#1 has worked since day one.
I get a notification, my phone remains silent, the watch vibrates. It's in the AW app settings.
according to me, since the watch has a inbuilt mic, a feature can be added that when someone calls, answer from the watch, just speak that you'll call back later & disconnect. this will be helpful if you are driving... no need to pick the phone ...

Good list, I have one more. Allow the setting of alarms for only certain days. For example, I would like to be able to set an alarm at 7 PM that goes off only on weekdays and not weekends, as I use this to let me know when I can get into the car pool lane when I am driving back home from work. That alarm is useless on the weekend, so no need for it to be turned on every day.

As I know LG G watch 5.0.1 do not support it.

on mine the whole notification thing is messed up..
sometimes it will vibrate and pop up when i get a text or email.. but then sometimes it doesnt do anything at all.
hardly ever, does it vibrate when i get a fb IM.. but it pops up and the screen lights up.
maybe they should fix it first before adding anything.

Pretty sure vibration is app dependent. Example, 8sms. You can change the vibration length in the settings. If you set your phone to 1000ms vibration when you get a text your phone AND watch will vibrate for 1000ms(or whatever vibration pattern you set) To further my point I would NEVER feel the vibration of Snapchat updates because it was so short. I'm using xposed(gravity box) to change snapchats vibration length and I feel the notification on my watch and phone every time.
I agree 100% google should have a universal setting to be able to change vibration, notification, and screen light up settings.

Hi, at Christmas I received this wonderful SmartWatch.
When accesnione, I would not be wrong, I think I saw a screen asking how long the s were to go into standby after a certain period of inactivity. If I'm right I put 15 minutes.
The question is, does anyone know how to change or disable this stand? Since it is really uncomfortable then the clock off the screen. The clock is beautiful especially with the screen saver.
Obviously this feature is not to be confused with "always on screen" which is different [this is already active].
Thank you

You may have gotten a watch face that had always on set off, and it never toggled.
Try to turn always on OFF, then after awhile turn it back ON and see if you get the ambient face to show again.

When I take the watch off to shower, usually 10 to 15 min,I come back out and it's all black. I tap the screen, and it comes back on in ambient mode. I think this is what your referring to. I believe this is a sort of sleep mode to save battery, due to the watch receiving no movement at all. It's a cool feature. If this is happening while still on your wrist, then there might be a problem.???

Not it. Screen lock is when you have to draw a pattern on the watch face to unlock it,like on most phones now a days.

I found this on that topic, it says 30 minutes though. Maybe there is a time adjustment in the wear app? If not as you mentioned when you first synced up you picked 15, may have to forget and re-sync to chose again?
Tip: Letting your screen turn off when you're not using the watch will help improve battery life. If the watch hasn't moved for 30 minutes, the screen will turn off even if you have it set to remain always on. To wake your watch, tilt it or press the power button.

Yes, and we cannot find such setting. Meaning it's a one time pop up when you originally connect watch.
This is just a theory though, I do not remember mine asking this question, and I cannot find a setting for this on the watch. According to the watch notes it should be set at 30 minutes default, maybe before you try anything actually time it?

You are a lifesaver.
Thank you very much.
not for me. Because the display is limited then by setting/display/timeout to a maximum of 5 min.
How can I see the app until I switch it off?

That setting works for me as my use case is that I have to stay in a particular app, say for example the music player.
Doesn't matter if the display switches off when I lower my wrist. That can be easily remedied by flicking the wrist or tapping a button.
What shouldn't happen is the app exiting itself to the home screen.
Therefore, it works like a charm for me.
