Hello,
I've seen on SamMobile the T705XXU1ANJ3 ROM, I think it's really new:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/39124/T705XXU1ANJ3_T705OXE1ANJ3_SER.zip/
Anybody tried it? I've read many people updating a T800 ROM had many benefits, so I hope all the improvements will be ready for T705 too with this ROM.
I would flash for myself, but I never used Odin and before to "risk" I would like to be really sure to don't break anything.
I live in Italy and I've no idea if this ROM will be ok for me, moreover I don't want to trip Knox and so I've to find some very good backup/restore strategy, because until now TiBu took care about anything related to this argument...

Hello , XDA community.
I have a T - Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3. Here are the current stats on the device.
Model: SGH-T999
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband: T999xxxx
Kernel: 3.0.8- 1083013
Build: IMM76D.T999
Okay , so here's my problem. My device is rooted. Stock kernel I think. I don't remember doing anything special. Just a root.
Everyday my device gets to notification to update. Everytime I choose to update , the device just reboots and goes into CWM Recovery. I really want my device to just update to JellyBean without having to reset or wipe the device neither unrooting it. Is this possible ?
I hope I was clear enough with all the information.
You won't be able to do an Over The Air update with a custom recovery. Why do you have a custom recovery with a stock rom lol? There are a few roms out there with very stock everything. Or you can use odin to get there... searching will get you where you need. Also, you are about 2 months behind everyone else lol.

Yes I am aware , I only wanted my phone rooted for a few applications. Never cared much about ROMS. Do you care to point me to a fairly decent rom , something that is quick and lag free , yet not to crazy. I am only asking you because you seem to be very updated.
Oh I am, lol. I'll give you something very plain.

scroll down to "SGH-T999 OTA Updates (for use in recovery)" and get the latest "UVALJ4 - UVDLJA"

Way to modded, this guy was on stock with root... I gave him stock with root. If he wants to go crazy and install a rom with custom looks, and mods to it (that alot of people like and some dislike),That's on him to research, like in my resource thread.
How to update Android 4.3 on a Galaxy S3 Tmobile SGH-T999L?
Hi there,
I´m new to the forum and I´m just a phone user. I´ve been reading different forums and messages and I think this is the correct one to post my question. If I´m wrong, please recommend me the appropriate forum if you know it . I must add that English is not my mother tongue and that I´m not familiar with terminology like flashing, mod, stock...
Having said that, here you have some background
I bought a Galaxy S3 Tmobile SGH T999L in the US in Jul 2014. I came back to my country, Spain, and as Tmobile doesn´t operate here I had to take it to a shop to unlock it and use with another supplier. The phone works reasonably well, though doesn´t totally benefit from 4G because the range of mobile frequencies used in Spain is different from the one in the US, with only partial coincidence. So it was my mistake to buy it there asuming that it would be 100% compatible here. But that´s not the issue. The issue is this:
I have recently downloaded several apps that informed me that because the O.S. is old (Android 4.3) I can´t benefit from some functionalities of the apps. .So I think I need to update to a higher version.
I have checked Tmobile US webpage where somebody asked the same question in a forum and they told him: "you flash a custome ROM (which we cannot discuss here, go to XDA developers if you are interested". And that´s why I´m here, because I have no idea of what that means, although I guess it might be related to deleting the content of the original ROM - and I suppose the O.S. is stored there- and substituting it by a higher O.S.
Below please find all technical data that I could find about my model, if this helps:
Model SGH-T999L
Base band version T999LUVUBOH1
Kernel version 3.0.31-2106417

Compilation number JSS15J.T999LUVUBOH1

Thanks to anybody who may try to help

Custom ROM is simply slightly or much tweaked Stock ROM. It can contain themes or new functionality, added or removed apps etc. Most of the Custom Touchiz ROMs are pretty similar to stock ROMs and have added bits and pieces that most people would add anyway - like Xposed framework and some Xposed modules, etc, sound enhancements, Note 3 software but still look much like Stock Samsung ROM.
After 4.1.2 I flashed Criskelo (Custom TW ROM) and it is smoother than 4.1.2. I am very satisfied with this ROM, and can't understand why so many people complain about 4.3. IMHO this is the single BEST update on android I had on any device ever. 1st time I can really tell it is smoother than the previous version.
I strongly reccomend updating to 4.3, just follow all instructions and you should be fine. IMHO best ROMs are DN3, Phoenix and Criskelo. You can also try pre-rooted de-Knoxed stock ROMs, but you would loose any of the extras in these ROMs (Note 3 sw etc).
Really thanks for response ... but many says battery drains fast and fast after 4.3 update
And ram consumption very high
Could you clarify this for me and I would be thankful

Battery for me is the same as on 4.1.2. Maybe on 1st boot it is higher because if you erase everything it has to run media scanner for a long time to scan all your photos. But for me it is the same.
Don't worry about RAM consumption. I can't get it why people want to have EMPTY RAM??? What good is empty RAM, just doing nothing? If it uses more RAM, it means it is using it for something, probably caching disk, processes, apps.... Everything works just fine, Android manages RAM by itself. If it all works fine, why should I care how much RAM there is? Also it depends on your apps more than anything. I have like 290 USER apps, together with system apps it is like 510. And NEVER have I noticed any problems... so just forget about RAM, Android manages everything automatically, and our device has a lots of RAM. Even with TSF shell running which is huge, all is fluid and no apps have problems.

If you flash ROM from Sammobile, you will be Knox-locked. You will have Knox and you can never again downgrade to 4.1.2. And if you root, you will loose your warranty and will never be able to use Knox again. Knox is preventing you from flashing anything without triggering Knox counter to 0x1.
If you do flash UAE ROM from Sam mobile, you don't have to flash anything else, bootloader and modem are included.
But I'd suggest flashing de-Knoxed ROM, so you can later (if you want) install any custom ROM, downgrade, etc.
If you want custom ROMs, I'd suggest Phoenix, DM3 or Criskelo.

Thanks a lot dear

Hello, name's Mike, have been in the android side for a while and it's my first time actually owning an US version of a phone, the N900T (T-Mobile Note 3) running 5.0 stock TW. (I don't live in the US)
So please, enlighten me!
ROOT AND RECOVERY
I have tried to root it and did it successfully, however when I tried to get a custom recovery on it, I only got boot loops so far, tried various tutorials, none of them have yet worked out for me.
CUSTOM ROMS
Are there any current custom rom development for this phone? I've seen lots of KK roms but I was looking to get a stable lollipop AOSP like rom like CM12 but without crashes or battery drain. Does anyone know any good roms that are stable?
PORTING
Also! How do you port a N9005 rom to a 900T? I've seen some methods by flashing a BT+Wifi fix or something like that but it seems outdated and I don't want to brick my phone just yet.
Please, please help me out, I am really out of it. Used to Custom rom on a Huawei U8650, Galaxy S2 and on my G2, but this is harder due to it being a carrier phone.
Thanks for your comprehension.
Did you download the right TWRP? Get the tar file and odin it.
https://dl.twrp.me/hltetmo/
Did you check the N900T development forum? There is quite a few to select from. I.E. Slim

Sorry can't help you with porting.
I got this SM-P600 last year for my birthday, I shortly rooted it then installed a ROM and went on my merry way.
There have always been a couple nagging issues with the rom, infrequent random restarting and blanking out my lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers.
Its on the ND2 bootloader but the "fingerprint" says NH3 release-keys, so NH3 firmware I assume.
It is rooted, twrp 2.5 or 2.6 I think.
I just want to get the firmware updated and install a stable rom on it since the restarting and wiping away wallpaper is really getting on my nerves lately.
I have been out of the tweaking and modding environment for almost a year now and I don't know where to pick up again.
So I am looking for advice and opinions.
I need to find a firmware only page, or a way to update the firmware easily, or am I missing something here?
I'd like to hear about a couple roms people out there are using, why you use it and how long?
I'd like to know if I need to have the bootloader and firmware be the same version and if that might be why I am having issues.
Can anyone point me to the right place?
Hmm, I only root and run stock roms with some minor housekeeping, so cannot help you with your ROM issues. I would imagine though that anybody who could will need to know WHAT ROM you installed.
In the meantime, the best thread I know of for you to gather information is the one at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723420 ... Its an ALL-IN-ONE thread for the Note 10.1 (2014 edition). Please not though that the forum rules stipulate it is only for information sharing, not for questions, so you may want to visit there, catch up as best you can and then come back here with more specific questions...
Is there any reason you don't want to use stock? I ask because based on what you are saying, it doesn't appear that you chose a custom ROM with any particular intentions, but rather because ... well, apparently custom is awesome If you don't need anything particular, you will be much better off just running a rooted stock with some debloating to keep things spiffy. As of now, I believe the P600 is still on 4.4.4, for which root should be available. The LTE versions started receiving 5.1.1 updates last week and while it is quite awesome to run the latest lollipop, no root as of yet.
Cheers,
Karthik
I have a I9192 and my brother has a i9195 both are still stock. (Oh my!) I haven't rooted anything or installed a custom recovery yet. I really want to try out a lot of roms I just can't seem to find a list or something. Also I read something about stuttering on a few of the cm roms (I don't know I'm clueless) but that kind kept me from just putting a random rom on them. Thank you!
