[Q] Boot loop limbo on HTC one m8 - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, so as you can see from the title my HTC M8 can't turn on. I have tried installing custom version of GPE 5.0 Lollipop without getting S-Off because I'm not a very smart man. Anywho it installed but Wi-Fi wasn't working so I first tried rebooting my device and now it is stuck between HTC logo and the boot animation in a constant loop. I can't connect it to my computer, and I cant enter recovery, because after holding volume down my phone enters HBOOT and makes me choose reboot.
There is text that says:
Sd checking
No gift file
Loading
No image
Loading
No image or wrong image
After that text shows it switches to press power to reboot and that's it.
That is my problem, I'm hoping that you guys will help me fix this and I'll be waiting for your reply.

Did you put a 0P6BIMG.zip file on your sdcard, your hboot shouldn't be looking for a file if there isn't one .

Bricked?

Sorry for the double post, I realized afterwards this was a better place for the question
I recently followed the unrevoked guide to root my phone and put on the clockworkmod custom recovery image (for slcd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618). Everything appeared to go smooth, unrevoked said it was a success, been using it for a few hours now and all of a sudden it wont boot sits at the htc screen, I also can't boot into recovery mode (shows a black line at the top of the screen then powers down). Its a brand new telus desire. Anyone know where i go from here to trouble shoot this/reset the device.
last thing I did was copy over a froyo rom to the sd card and try to install it using clockworks rom tools from the sd card, however that process just rebooted my phone. So i assume it didnt do anything.
Is there a way to try to reflash the recovery image without being able to boot into android?
what do you get when u hold volume down and power button? do you not get hboot screen?
if you do then not bricked
I can get to the screen, but I cannot enter recovery, when I choose recover it vibrates, htc logo comes up then powers down. I cant boot into android , cant get to the recovery screen, so Im at a bit of loss what to do next.

you need to install recovery again then, i messed mine worse then yours and sorted using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6710081&postcount=2
you have to download that ISO and burn it on cd and boot the linux and follow the command as if it was the 1st time you are rooting, if step 2 does not work then skip it and see if it boots into recovery. i remember i had to play with it for a bit
I had something similar, Volume UP, then hit power? Select recovery, then wait 30 seconds, then update zip, then get it from there? Worth a try?
that wont work with the 0.83 bootloader will it ?
Anyone else have a solution?
I assume I may need to wait for a tiny linux version compatible with hboot 0.83? so that I can restore my recovery image? unless i can boot android
I cant connect in Win. because it wont boot..
How does fastboot work ? could I copy a slcd image over the microsd ( i dont have a card reader to test right now)card run fastboot, and have android boot long enough to sync windows and attempt to reapply the unrevoked recovery image?

[Help] Flashed boot on Rooted M8. Now it isnt detecting and screen wont turn on

I flashed the boot.emmc.win onto my phone this one to be exact https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0hKTzcXgVfcelVoa21GVGpKbkU/edit?pli=1
and it was successful ( i think). I managed to get my phone back into hboot but when I rebooted it from there, the screen was on but black. Pressing the vol up|down changed the ringer and Power + Vol down took screenshots. I still saw the HTC bootscreen etc. Im trying to wipe the device right now and it wont go back into hboot or get detected on my ADB, I've managed to get it detected on my computer and get into the storage but I'm not sure what to do from there. Basically this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPCVecKSPAA
edit, okay I got it to recovery, and I wiped and flashed the Stock backup in TWRP. Rebooted and it's now on the loading screen. well I just fixed it myself.
Good job man

Is my M8 bricked?

Hi XDA-Fellows
1) thanks for all the help of this community so far
2) my problem: I had my HTC One M8 rooted, installed TWRP (I think in the end I had 2.7.8.0 as last version) and Cyanogenmod with a nightly build of around 18. March 2016 installed! THEN the big mistake happened. In advanced developers menu of cyanogenmod I activated the option that was called something like "on update of system also replace recovery software". That obviously was stupid.
Upon rebooting normally TWRP launched and installed the latest nightly. This time I see the white screen with HTC logo on it, red text in bottom, top part of the screen shows "ENTERING RECOVERY", 3 seconds later I see a black screen and every like 2 or 3 seconds it looks like the screen gets powered, it flashes darkgrey shortly (again, looks like it gets powered but instantly shuts off immediately).
This just can be stopped by pressing either P+U or P+D for like 10 seconds. Then again, white screen with HTC logo and ENTERING RECOVERY and the screen switch on/off-loop.
Is my device bricked? What can I do now?
Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
Can you enter to your bootloader ? So maybe you can just reflash it to see if it's going to work..

Yes I can enter bootloader. How should I go on from here on?
Well you just need to download the new TWRP from their web site https://dl.twrp.me/m8/ after that you put your device into bootloader and you plug your phone into your computer and download a toolkit from xda like htc one m8 toolkit and you follow the instructions..

Thanks. I will give it a try and give feedback.
It worked. I could enter bootloader, switched to FASTBOOT mode, installed ADB Drivers for windows and replaced recovery with latest TWRP! THanks a lot for your help! I thought I could throw away my M8
Well. It worked not completely. I was able to reboot my phone into the Cyanogenmod. But upon entering recovery mode (which I expected now to be TWRP) I get the same result again ... Screen off/on within seconds, repeating endlessly
I think you need to reflash the boot.img and the ROM completely. Because i don't know why do you have a black screen.
I activated root access for apps and tried ROM Manager first! It failed, then I used flashify which worked. Automatically downloaded latest TWRP (3.0.0.1) and flashed it, reboot into recovery. Everything works like a charm again! Thanks again for your help!

Help me get out of this bootloop!

Hey guys,
Don't usually have to post but after searching all day I can't find a way out of this loop. My 10 is currently flashing the white HTC splash and rebooting endlessly. That's no big deal, but I ALSO have no recovery or download mode access.
The ONLY thing I can do to interrupt the loop is access fastboot by holding Vol UP + Vol Down on restart. Unfortunately trying to "reboot to recovery" only flashes the dark HTC Logo then immediately restarts to the original bootloop. Attempting to "reboot to download mode" simply resumes the boot loop.
The device is recognized in fastboot on my PC but unfortunately I cannot flash or erase anything because I'm in S-ON, so practically none of the fastboot commands work. I have been using TWRP recovery and Viper10 Rom.
Any help getting out of this loop is greatly appreciated. I was going to give up and pay the deductible and replace it, until I found out that the phone is backordered until October and my alternative is an LG, which I can't stand.
S O S!

The only difference being that I let mine loop for a solid hour and it didn't successfully boot at all. In the past I was having issues sometimes when I restarted, but I would just create a backup and restore from it and it would work, which made me think the boot file was just either corrupt or non existent. I've never been locked out of recovery AND download mode, however.
