well .. for a long time i wanted to place a charger at my work place, just to be sure that i won't run of power during the day.
so ...
you take this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/32152166692...49&var=510400301933&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
and a little hard sponge, that will hold the charger.
cut a little side hole in the sponge, and near the hole, cut a wider stripe.
place the charger inside, trought the hole insert the usb cable into the charger, and ... viola, you have a desktop cradle

clever
well done
I hated those chargers until...
I realized the 360 would work with them. I'd bought a couple for my Nexus 5 & 7 -- but they don't work well with the cases. Unreliable. But on the naked watch, they're perfect! And round - so they fit the theme lol. Of course, I still have the leather strap on so it lays flat - but your concept is an awesome way to keep using these if I splurge for a metal one.

Bye
Thanks, just brought the pack for £5.99 inc delivery.
I normally turn my Note upside down to get better sound from the speaker, this case will make the Note look hilarious.
hhahahah this is funny case !!!
As big as the Note is, it needs a VHS retro case, not an audio cassette.
Ok, ok, it's not THAT big. Betamax instead of VHS.
Surely this case is very ugly...I can't think of people buying this. Imagine an instant, what funny things people will say when you'll take it out - you are holding a big phone inside a ridiculously design case. There will surely be mockery in the air...
I find the case cute and interesting as opposed to tpam. Cases of this type has been more common for iPhones. It's just a matter of picking your favorite design. Unfortunately, it does look too big for an audio cassette.

the best, the shape is perfect because holes are centered. Plug the charger connector without problem.
ordered more different colors.
THE WORST ONE:
overall this is not a bad case but there is a big problem: you can't plug-in the charger when using this cover! the hole is too small to let the connector fully plug-in to the phone. Also the microphone hole is not centered
another model: the tyre
US $2,99
silicone material
this one has a big defect: it grips inside your jeans pocket. That means it makes difficult to get it out! and often the phone comes out from the case.
the Hybrid one with Stand Case
US $5,08
double material, soft/hard
includes caps for external sockets
is not very practical plug-in the battery charger connector
on ebay there is another version cheaper but without' caps
Thanks
Thanks for the pics I know what not to buy
Thanks for the reviews!
I was bored, so i 'modded' a Book stash into a Wireless Qi charger....
Just place the N5 on the cover and it starts charging, i keep it on my nightstand for now.
I plan on buying another stash, or making a stash myself using a cooler looking real book...
Charging seems to function normally through the 5mm thick wood cover
What do you guys think?

That's pretty cool. How much did it cost you in total?
That's pretty awesome. I'm going to attempt a similar project with my nightstand like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZo2pA0Qc9U&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I paid 30 EURO for the charger i got the parts from, but you can get the pcb and coil on alibaba for much less. The book i sourced in a local store for 5E, but you can make it yourself for even less...

Hello,
inspired by a thread I saw last week in the LG XDA forum where a guy was showing a custom cradle + charger made by LEGO for his phone I decided to find the old LEGO box and to create something for myself, remembering the old days 2 decades ago when i was young and played a lot with these ingenious small bricks and pieces So, here's the outcome, tell me if you like it and be inspired to do something by yourself and share it here, I'll be very glad if I make at least one person to do the same and feel the nice nostalgia to the old days
P.S. The QI charger part is actually working very well and charging the phone fast enough, even though the positioning is not the best. I used a cheap flee market QI charger, which i disassembled and took only the charging unit, totally removing the casing. It's sandwiched between the LEGO plates and is pretty well held in position, not requiring any additional fixing. If you want to, i can make more detailed pictures of how i fixed it into place.

Very nice! If only I still had my massive bucket of bricks, I'd make one of my own!
HAHAHAHA!!! Too cool!! :good:
There are some truly gorgeous stands that folks have build. The most inspiring are the ones made of wood. Unfortunately I have neither the proper tools nor skills to make something like that. Instead I worked with what I had which included a 110V MIG welder and some pencil rod. (Sort of like rebar but smooth and about 1/4" in diameter and cheap. )
It's a little crude but does the job.

I might have done a better job or aligning the cutout for the USB connector. It was supposed to slant down.
I prefer landscape orientation for this application so magnets weren't really necessary, just a stand that would hold the charger reasonably well.
(Note: This is on no way intended to demonstrate skillful welding. I would have to hire someone to do that. Like my mentor said. If all you want to do is stick pieces of metal together ... )
I haven't decided what finish to go with. I might just seal the rust with some kind of clear spray paint. First I need to rust the shiny bits.
I like it. Simple and to the point.
