Access to marketplace

Hi guys,
I want to access marketplace but since i live in Sweden it wont let me access it.
I have a dev phone and a zune account and everything...
Any ideas?
Im in the US and I can't access marketplace either. All I can see is the homepage and the games that are going to come to WP7 thats it. I'm not sure if its different for anyone else.

Can you try and change the primary country to UK or US? This will get really interesting

tried changing it to UK... but no change on the phone... will try again in an hour in case it takes time to replicate the setting or so..
Have you changed location under Region and Language in the control panel to UK or USA on your pc? If not, try that and restart Zune. Worked for me.
Or are we talking about accessing it directly on the phone? In that case you will need a UK or US Live account.
And i'm guessing you have the latest version of Zune!?
Another thought! I can access marketplace in Zune on my PC. If i use my swedish Live account on my phone when i get it, download apps thru Zune on my pc to my connected phone. You think that will work?

Yes i actually meant on the phone, i wasn't aware that you can access the zune market for apps on your pc!
Also yes i do have the latest version of zune 4.7... the crappy part seems to be that you have to hard-reset the phone to set another live account
I was wondering if anybody has had succes with this. Tonight i will receive my first Windows Phone 7 device, the HTC 7 Trophy. My country is The Netherlands. I am know wondering if i will be able to download apps from the Marketplace. Microsoft NL has said that dutch people would need to change their country in the Windows Live Profile to US for access to the marketplace until it will be released finally in 2011 here.
Can anyone confirm this? I'm talking about access to the Marketplace trought my Windows Phone 7 device from within the Netherlands?
hello all,
I once had an account us-live, in November 2010 transformed it into the account pl-live (polish account).
Now of course I do not have access to the marketplace, and trying to change the region - get the message that the change can be made once every 12 months.
I wonder how i can shorten this time?
access--enabler
This might just be the solution

I use a live account with UK country setting and ING card and it works fine. Just put in a valid UK address with your own name. Some cards won't work.

[Q] How to connect the GN via VPN to a AVM Fritzbox?

Hi there,
I really like the Galaxy Nexus with ICS 4.0.2 (beside the low volume of the ringtones...) but I can't use Skype since german providers block skype-packets
in the network or atleast make them utterly slow. Now I want to use the
VPN-server of my (german) "AVM Fritzbox 7170" ADSL-router. There's a how-to for the iphone: http://translate.google.com/transla...rvice-Portal/VPN_Interoperabilitaet/16206.php
Unfortunately it doesn't work here, I only get a timeout.
Can somebody give me an advice with wich app I can find wich logfile on the phone to check for any errormessages? Kind regards!
I have used Skype in Germany without issues. What makes you think your carrier is blocking Skype packets? I believe Skype communicates on port 80 the same as web browsers..

I had the issue with different networks on different phones. Some operators also say so to slowdown Skype-packets, even if T-mobile isn't doing so.
If I start a voicecall I maybe hear the first 2 seconds of the voice (eg. the echo service) and then I just get weired chopped soundbits that sounds like a broken robot. And it's not the signalquality, using it with full HSDPA-signal...
Oh and not to speak about videocalls, impossible to connect at all.
Oh and as I said, I would like to use the VPN, too. Not just because of Skype.
So... no help here?

[Q] How to bypass Vodafone Romania block of Viber application?

Hello.
I'm from Romania and i'm a subscriber of Vodafone Romania.
Viber works fine on my phone on every wifi I connected to, but when I activate the Mobile Internet it says that it is "currently unavailable and/or blocked". It seems that VIBER is blocked by Vodafone Romania and the only way I can use it with their Mobile Internet Service is to pay a tax of 3.13 Euros (3.8 dollars). In my opinion the fee for this service is abuzive and restrains the rights of its users.
From what I know Viber uses certain ports so it can make those VOIP calls and those are blocked by Vodafone.
My question is simple and I hope that some users from Romania and from other countries that are on Vodafone and have their Viber blocked can help with some tips and tricks on how to bypass the block.
Please refrain from answering to the question above with answers like "Change your carrier", "Use other VOIP apps instead", etc.
Let's hope we can find a way to deal with this problem,
Thank you.
SSH tunnel
My carrier also blocks VOIP like Skype & others, and the only real way I've found to get around this is to tunnel the traffic through a VPN or an SSH tunnel.
Personally I'm using the SSHTunnel app to do this. Basically you set it up to connect to a server where you have a shell account. The app then allows you to select the apps you want to tunnel their traffic.
Of course the SSH daemon on the server needs to allow forwarding of traffic and you need a good connection on both your phone & on the server end for this to work properly without call quality degradation.
Thanks for the reply, Gunthy` but unfortunately I don't own a server and I think it would cost more to buy one then to pay for the fee that Vodafone charges.

Yeah you're right there, although a good VPS doesn't have to cost a lot more than that. Also you can do more than just tunneling with something like that of course, so you get more value for your money.
If you have a good internet connection at home you could also use your own PC to set up the tunnel, you don't need to invest in renting a machine. Mind telling me what provider & plan you're on for your home connection? I'm quite familiar with Romanian providers so I could tell you if your current plan will allow that. Basically it mostly will depend on your upload speed. Naturally your PC needs to be up to the task as well...
Well i have dual-care 2Ghz Windows 7 laptop at home and a 11MB/s download and 1MB/s upload connection from RDS.
Do you know how could i configure my computer tu use it as you said?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Both your PC & your connection seem largely sufficient to do this. How exactly to set it up on Windows is something I'm not sure about (always done this with Linux ), but there is a an OpenSSH build for Windows, so you should be able to use that. Make sure you turn on port forwarding in the settings of the daemon, and forward the incoming SSH port on your router. SSH defaults to 22, but RDS might block that, so up it to something above port 1024 and it should work. Check out this guide, it seems pretty complete on first glance .
Thanks for the useful info. I think it's a good ideea to use your personal computer in order to bypass the block. I will try this tomorrow and report back here on how it goes.
In the meantime, if someone else has some other tips please post them here.
Viber
Hi,
This is a member of the Viber R&D Team!
We have received various similar complaints from Viber users in your area of the world, and we have investigated this issue. It seems that the outgoing access to Viber and VoIP applications may have been blocked by your specific service provider [generally, this block is only on basic package plans].
Please check with your carrier, Viber will not be able to bypass your carrier's network blockage. It is in your carrier’s or country's decision which applications they wish to allow or block network connections to.
If you have any question about Viber - please feel free to ask.

Thank you for the answer and sorry for the very late answer.
Unfortunately the carrier (Vodafone) still doesn't want to open the ports for Viber, so I decided to ask for help from our national Consumer Protection Agency, because when I signed the contract with Vodafone they didn't tell me that the internet option I choosed doesn't offer me full access to the internet because some ports are blocked and I will need to pay extra if I would want to use them.
I wil update this thread when i have some moar news.
Oh, and if anybody has other ideas on how to bypass blocks like this please post them here.
Thank you.
@Vladuu -
It is our pleasure to be here and assist.
We'll be waiting for news from you, and we hope those will be good news
How about using Tor, if a shell account is not available, nor a private ssh server?
Thanks for the ideea of using tor, I just downloaded it onto my phone and I'll give an update if I succeed or not.

well? does it work? Vodafone Spain here, same issue...
Hi,
As far as we know, Vodafone Spain still blocks VoIP services (including Viber) on its 'simple' data plan (for users who haven't purchased VoIP access).
We assume this can be confirmed with the company itself, by contacting their customer support or checking out their mobile data plans online.

Vladuu, did you ever find an answer to this? It seems it's an intermittent block for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes no.
I droped my Vodafone contract because they were the first company to implement a voip net blockage in germany.
I can only recommend to do this. Bypassing a blockage might be against your contract, which means you're asking for ways to break your contract / the law....
I'm now using O2 / Germany. They've posted on twitter that they won't block voip, ever. You are able to vote with your money, do it!
I know it's months after the previous replies, but I also faced this problem (for Skype) and fixed it.
The solution is using a VPN, but you don't necessarily need one at home. I use OpenVPN Connect from Play Store and vpnbook.com.
Install OpenVPN, install the certificates from vpnbook.com (server1 & server2, I just just UDP, 25000), then anytime you need to use SKype, follow these steps:
1. Open you browser of choice, go to vpnbook.com, the OpenVPN tab, get the current password (they change once per day)
1a. Close the browser from the recent tasks window, or (in case you use FF) you will not be able to browse using it after you start the VPN Connection
2. OpenVPN Connect, enter the password you found in step 1. Click Connect, check "I trust this ... <>" and OK.
3. Start Skype/Viber/whatever.
Thank you and sorry for the bump.

Remove defaulttether hack on three

Is there a way to remove the defaulttether hack on a three mobile phone? While it's fine in the Uk I'm unable to connect to the net while in the USA and think it might be because the defaulttether makes it think it's Verizon
Thanks

[Q] U-Verse App

I have a stock Note 8 and I am having trouble withe the AT&T Uverse app. Some of the live channels work and some give the error: "Failed to retrieve AT&T Live token for content. Content ID is 1051370. (996)".
Anybody know of a fix? AT&T is clueless.
Thanks.

AT&T is always clueless. I used to do technical support for AT&T U-Verse and I've been in both tier 1 and tier 2 support. My first question for you is can you troubleshoot this using another device? If so do you still have this same error?
This may be something that needs to be escalated to a higher level of support, more than likely it is an issue with the local VHO and a ticket needs to be created by a tier 2 support representative.
