There are apps like "mirror" and "weak control" but the main issue is that screen recording may not work on your galaxy s2 depending on what rom/version of android you are using. You can then use a google chrome plugin to view the stream from the computer.
But i do know that using mirror op sender on your phone and mirror op receiver on your pc seem to work regardless of whether the others work. I suggest that you set the codec to .h264 and set the quality to medium otherwise you will get an appalling frame rate.

can you tell me where can i find these google plugin?? you have some guides in youtube?
VNC Server
Search "droid VNC Server" on play store. I can't post any links yet.
Needs root access though

Hey guys,
I'm searching for some Applications and Gamez to present the features of my HD.
Friends often ask me what I like so much on my HD and why I did't buy an iPhone. I don't know what to answer then... Always showing the Game Teeter is so boring! I testet the iPhone for about a week and wasn't as thrilled as I'm now with my HD.
Searching in the XDA Forum wasn't very successful to me
Greez and thank you for helping me...
a good start would be to take pictures of ur phone, so u can show a little but of the functions and themes.
A nice program is 'Pocketscreen' which can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328627
Thank you for your post!
I rather thought about the case when they are standing next to me and want to see what my HD is able to do... Something spectacular, you know...
Maybe we can compile a catalog of such "viewy applications"!
oh, lol, sorry then, i missunderstood ya
mhhh, so i think u r searching for advantages of the touch hd, aren't u?
well...if u wanna impress ur friends u just have to show them windows mobile...
what's so special about it? try to get tomtom or other apps working on iPhone...
Take a look at this.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Software
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Software_1
too bad games are running slow as hell on the touch hd.........sigh.........
So you are looking for some "mine is bigger than yours" application just to show off?
Sorry, couldn´t resist.....
Just go to opera, copy a random link, open an email, page the link in a message and tell them to try that on their iphone
Coreplayer 1.3.0 and put on any dvd rip movies and make them jealous with envy, as movies are gorgeous on the high resolution screen
If you have highspeed internet on your hd, just show them a youtube vid, again just show them how inadequate the iphone is as a mediaplayer.
MP3-trimmer, cut a song on the fly, save it as a ringtone and then tell them to call you, watch them squirm
I got bejeweled2 on mine, another addictive game.
Virtual pool looks pretty slick.
When they tell you there is this great program which can identify music, just say its shazam and also avaible for winmo, If they don't know then whip it out tell the hd to identify a popular song on the radio or something from another mp3 player.
I also just bought an Touch HD, i used to have the normal Touch for 8 months, was thinking of buying the iphone too, instead after MANY reviews i stayed with HTC and bought me the touch HD.
Things you can show him is the resolution, open opera with a fullsize forum and show how much text you get on your screen.
Multitasking is what an iphone can't do.
Stuff i like on my windows mobile device: MSN, fring/skype (free calling over wifi) i love VNCview for PPC so i can see my desktop PC on my HD, also love the game UNO, also LOVE Funambol ! so i can sync my calendar/notes/contacts,... all to one server and that way to my PC all bidirectional... Funambol is also availeble on iphone but only for syncing contacts because apple wants to make 99 dollar a year on their syncing service... and most of all, i love that i can keep finding settings to adjust my windows mobile device just the way i want it...
what i don't know if this is all possible with a jailbroken iphone... if it is then there isn't any big difference i guess
good luck with the showing off haha

I know these pages full of applications. Which of them are good to, lets say, "show off"...
Thank you all for your suggestions... maybe got some more!?!
!edit: where can i get coreplayer 1.3 from? u know what i mean!?! plz pm
I wouldn't bother with CorePlayer; full-res video doesn't work well enough yet.
Look at the stickied video-encoder thread and create a file for free that plays full-res full-framerate in WMPlayer on the HD. Bear in mind that most people won't understand the difference between this and what the iPhone plays though.
Then read a book at them. I had an iPod Touch and never found any way to read books that wasn't woefully inadequate.
Web pages in landscape, clicking in links without zooming in etc is a great demo.
The Hologram app is pretty cool; do a search around here and you'll find it.
But to be honest all an iPhone owner has to do is show someone Super Monkey Ball, Aqua Forest, Enigmo etc and you've lost. No amount of "But you can't copy-and-paste" is going to bring you back from that one.
just record a video when going in the freeway at 120km/h then show them.
lets see the iphone do that with that quality
Cool! Thank you for all your Replys!
I think this stuff will hunt 'em down...
1. Use Hush SMS and send Ring 0 SMS to an iPhone.
2. Show some real GPS navigation software.
3. Compare list of supported bluetooth profiles on your HD with iPhone.
Use GRemote to control your pc - see here
how about installing ORB on your home pc and you can stream every music and video file to your ppc through wifi, music is even possible over edge.
that way you can have unlimited portable media.
i use it and it works great !

Well, better NOT say this to any iPhone user (hint: Backgrounder http://code.google.com/p/iphone-backgrounder/wiki/Documentation )

Yeah, at the gaming (and, of course, the capacitive screen) department, the iPhone is just unbeatable.

Please do NOT ask for warez. Especially not with CorePlayer. Those folks do deserve being paid for their very hard work.
Hello guys today i found one Application that is very cool also i know that is avalible for Windows Mobile but i can`t find where.
The Application can be even more better and i think the idea of that app is cool and is made for FUN to fool your friends.. so here is what this app can do.
www.ximad.com
The Big Brother app can track your friends by the GSM Number lol.. so when you are with your friends.. you can tell them.. that you know all the time where are they exactly and if they don`t believe you, you can show them its true.
Just type the number of your friend in the APP and lets the Search Beggin.. the Application use real google maps tracking and will show exactly where is your "friend".. but the think that your friend didn`t know is that the application track where are you NOW i mean your Device not his or her number but they don`t have from where to know this, because when you show them that you can trace them they will be close to you... for example in some COffe bar or just on the street WOW
So i think the idea of that Application is very good and maybe some dev can make it to look and work even better for Windows Mobile.. witch some good finger friendly style and nice graphics will be super app for fun.
So I searched but couldnt find the answer. I am looking for the app that lets you control your phone from the computer. Its not screencast or remote desktop. It was an app that would give you an IP address to go to from your computer and up would pop the home screen of your phone. I charge my phone in another room and run wifi tether and would love to see whos texting me and be able to reply among other things without having to get up every two minutes. I had it before and flashed a rom and thought that titanium backup had run but it didnt so I lost it. Thanks for any help.
Well I would recommend Remote Desktop (I know you mentioned it), it is an awesome app that I use all the time, it lets you send sms messages. I think the one you are thinking of is called PicMe. It's ok, pretty sluggish IMO. I really think Remote Desktop is the best app for this type of thing.

I like remote desktop but you cant tell when you get a new text or whos it from.
edit.I do remember the one I had being a little sluggish so that might be it, haha.
Good thread. There's an app called Browsix that has a built-in sms client. Check it out.
Try webkey

webkey is exactly what you're looking for. When i used it I didnt see any lag. Kind of wish they had an option to alert you on ur computer screen when you got a text but maybe I just didnt select the right settings

Its as secure as your password. Set your custom login and password and you should be fine.
ehh i like browsix for texts. But webkey is better besides that.
Try This...
I believe the app you may be looking for is called "droid VNC Server"....
I have it and have tested it to work with the Evo.
Hey recently ive decided that I want to replace my stereo in my car with a mac mini and an external tough screen. I first thought I would try to use the HDMI feature of the Evo to view my phone on the screen, but I would want it to be interactive on the screen. So then I decided I should find a program that will allow me to use my Evo through a usb cord so the Evo displays on in a window on my mac or windows pc and i can interact with it from there. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? Or does anyone wanna take on this project?
There is a thread on this topic in Q&A. I saw it maybe 2 days ago. Has a few suggested apps to control your evo via pc or vice versa.

hahaha i know. but those run through the web and i cant share the same connection if im creating the wifi form my phone.
and the ones that i found that go through usb, which is 1, refreshes and 4 frames a second =/
you could wire up a wifi router..
Here's the thread he was talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971209
Anyway...
I used this: Droid VNC Server (FREE, requires root)
And this: VNC® Viewer Free Edition 4.1 for Windows (also free)
It's pretty choppy, but it works.
If you don't have Windows, pretty much any VNC viewer will work, there's lots of them out there (Google it).
Appreciate it. And yea. The last two days I've been doing research and trying out different ones, and everything had been laggy or choppy. I made this hoping to find a hidden gem that worked perfectly or someone that knew how to get it working flawlessly

Try mymobiler, it works perfectly for me. Just go google "mymobiler", it is the first result comes up.
Google android screencast, as long as your phone can be detected by adb it works great!

Best Way?
Get a browser that supports adblock.
Some people were saying that if you're a Recognised contributor you won't get ads (I never had them in the first place because I use adblock)

Whoa, who uses IE nowadays anyway? Chrome + Adblock is all you'll ever need.

Bill Gates is watching @ my PC already so i don´t need google to watch @ my PC, too!

There is another way to stop ads, and not sure how well it works, and since I don't use it.
Google for "adblock hosts file".

No need to be so defensive. I tried to help you get rid of both the adverts which are annoying you and the horror that is Internet Explorer. Plus, if you have an Android phone (chances are you do, being on XDA) Google is already 'watching you', and far better on your phone with all of the location data and stuff than on your PC . Speaking of Android, using Chrome would give you much better integration with your phone (again, if you have an Android phone)
