The touchwiz launcher is lagy too and when we Turn pages the lags is apear
I decompile touchwiz.apk and i explore folders and in res folder i saw few folders that named xxxx-xxxx-1024x600 and i guess this names means 1024x600 pixel like galaxy tab and samsung create a touchwiz that could be use in galaxy s and galaxy tab!
I decided to deleted that folders had a 1024x600 in the last of name and i compile apk and push it to galaxy and i see that is work lagless and very fast and smooth
I made an update.zip of this modified touchwiz and upload in attachment

this launcher is last version of touchwiz that used in jpm/jp6 roms and must work on any version of roms

Just flashed it via CWM on Voodoo-Doctor-Edition-JP6 and seems to be lagless flipping between pages. G8 job!

No, based on what he wrote, he deleted icons and textures for use on Galaxy Tab. I wonder if it really does make it faster, though.
No effect here. Still laggy as hell.
EDIT: maybe it's because I'm using a lagfix? I have 5 pages of apps. Not that much if you ask me :S

I recommend editing the LauncherConfig.java class to enable the fly in effect when opening the app menu, pretty nice.

My attachement contains a classes.dex which has the ability to uninstall (non system) apps from homescreen + fly in effect.
Remove .apk and .odex first, then push this to system. I always switch to an other launcher before doing that..

On reboot touchwiz doesn't load - it gives me a fc error: The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly.

Do you have adb enabled? Otherwise you have a problem..
I have adb installed, but my pc won't detect the phone when plugged in via usb.
It seems like the only solution is to flash another update.zip via recovery. An update.zip of the original touchwiz should work, if someone would be kind enough to put one together. I wouldn't know where to start...
Edit: or is there a way to install an apk via the recovery menu? Long shot, I know. I was thinking installing LauncherPro would bypass the fubar'd tw.

1- download update.zip in attachment and copy it to your internal memory
2- instal it from recovery 2e or cwm recovery

Thanks but I can't access the internal memory of my phone. Now what?
Tw launcher is definately faster now. Try pinch to zoom and see! It even made me consider reverting from launcher pro.. Great fix, thanks!

I think I noticed an small improvement with that fix: 55apps installed (6 pages in app drawer), but there is still some lag...
By the way I'm really glad that there is people trying to improve the performance of TW. I really like TW but the app drawer is laggy I'm still using froyo stock launcher...
Hello .. i just wanted to share this google gallery APK .. i don't remember from which GAPPS i got this .. i downloaded a lot of packages .. i tried this one .. there's a deference in the speed .. in the other versions there's some lag in the animation when u open the albums ... this one is faster and smooth no lags .. u can push this apk to your /system/app replace the old gallery and setup the permission same as the old one ..

so far so good..
just downloaded rom, installed just fine, connected to wifi just fine, was able to download titanium backup just fine, can't find the option for overclocking yet, but the running services status gives me about 75mb free memory fresh install, did not stopped anything just went there to check, so far so good, i'm still impressed with the speed, although an iphone user(a friend) noticed that the reaction of the launcher is a little slower than iphone, but for me. works ok... Good Job! testing ROm for bugs.. does the BT call work here?

Well launcher force closes for me all the time, not just once or twice. It wolud be great if that could be fixed. I tryed to install other launcher but it is impossible,it says insuficient memory?

i was wondering if someone could make a rom for me..
what i would like to have
1- android 2.3.5
2- htc sense 2.1
3- all sense stock feature
4- stock bloats removed like twitter, google talk ,stocks, plurk, quick ,lookup, news and weather, news, ebuddy xms ( all these except stock fb app that comes with the phone)
5- no change in ui ( icons and all that) or whatsoever
6-overclock feature so that i can clock it at 800 mhz or lower than that
7- updated adreno libs ..enhanced graphics so that i can play games smoothly
8- beats audio
9-improved music quality
10-no change in camera feature
11more internal storage like anything between 200-500mb
12-basic root apps installed like no cpu frills titanium backup pro and flash 10.1 (if it really works) and others that i dont know about..
13-stock boot animation stock unlock screen ..
14everything working ..
anyone ( an expert ) could make a rom like that i'd really appreciate it!!
the reason that i am not downloading other peoples rom is because of reduced battery life because of that rom and moreover i am happy with the stock 2.3.5 and sense 2.1 ...i do not want to change the ui boot animation lock screen or something like that... i just want some extra feature on my phone and bloats removed thats all
and i got my wfs from india !!

i have sony xperia s , rooted , unlocked boot loader running cm10 fxp147
i found a launcher called atrix , only for android 4.0 +
it had a widget called circles hd , it only works with its launcher , if you add it to another launcher (nova launcher or any other one) it will say it doesn't work with 3rd party launchers , can a developer mod the circleswidgethd.apk and make it to work on any other launcher , please i love that widget a lot , the full launcher with it's widget is here : http://www.mediafire.com/?3w3uycrc7b5jg9f
the developer said to flash it through CWM but it will be installed to data folder so maybe if you extracted the files and installed manually , they will work , please try to mod this apk
