Success! Ladies and gentlemen, we are in business! :good:
I've rebuilt ICS from the 4.0.4 + Samsung patch tree, with the a2dp max bitpool set to a more appropriate 64. For the first time ever, let your Glide sound the way it should over bluetooth!
Updated library (and source patch) attached. Simply push audio.a2dp.default.so to /system/lib/fw (root & rw /system required), or use the CWMR flashable update provided by thegreatergood (CWMR_a2dp-bitpool-fix.zip).
Please note this binary is only compatible with the official ICS (IMM76D/UCLH2) and the leaked ICS build! It will have no effect on the previous Gingerbread build.
Take a nand backup with CWMR before you begin! If this library is corrupted, your phone will hang during bootup!
Code:
6 [email protected]:/system/lib/hw# logcat | grep -i bitpool
D/A2DP ( 3768): min_bitpool: 2
D/A2DP ( 3768): max_bitpool: 53
D/A2DP ( 3768): bitpool=53
53 is the max supported by the headset I'm using, and it sounds great!
Note - if you want to apply the source patch yourself, the target files are in external/bluetooth/bluez/audio.
Thanks to thegreatergood for creating a CWMR flashable archive!
Enjoy!

Hi guys,
So like many, I've got the new ICS build up and running, and it does resolve a lot of issues (hey - a working compass in Google Maps!).
One issue it does not resolve is the poor bluetooth a2dp audio quality. Still locked at 35 bitpool. Sigh.
I'm working on resolving this situation, now that (I hope) the proprietary broadcom binaries and junk are gone, and will post progress here. If anyone has any comments / suggestions / patches let me know!

Ya that is one thing that really is bothering me with the leak is it takes forever to connect with Google maps I Mean close to 15 minutes!! Perhaps I should start looking at switching to the release if you say this is fixed....Just wish someone would make a CWM version.
This should be in the general section

Why? I'm working on a solution to the problem that could involve binary or source patches, recompiles, and some complex debugging and/or side effects. I don't think it's good to expose everyone in the general section to this process..

Just so we're clear here (I wouldn't want to make the mistake twice) - you're saying threads of technical nature that involve potentially pasting code snippets, log dumps, modifications to /system and other risky procedures which may (soft) brick devices belong in the general discussion forum, unless the first message contains an attachment?
If so, when my 4.0.4 source tree build finally completes and I upload a modified /system/lib/hw/audio.a2dp.default.so and diffs, should I expect complaints that the thread belongs in the development section?

Development discussion, once something is developed, takes place in the thread if the developer allows it, since there its no Q&A section.

This is amazing. All this time, I thought it was because my headphones sucked.
Awesome to see a new MOD. :good: . I still go with the wired headphones, as Bluetooth headphones previously didn't sounded great. Maybe this is what was needed. Will surely check this out.
can the fix be done on GB? i'm still using it until i'll have custom rom that will support my language.
i know it been compiled for ics but can we use the source to change the gb version?

Sadly, no. This is the main reason I was so excited when the ICS source was released.
The problem is the Gingerbread build uses a proprietary Broadcom binary for managing bluetooth, and I wasn't able to hack the binary itself. Tried for weeks.
I hope an ICS build comes out for you soon!
Greetings.
After overwriting the original file, and rebooting the phone, i noticed a minor audio quality improvement (minor, but clearly noticeable) by using a Nokia BH-905 headset, and listening to music files, however i do not tested calls yet.

The quality improvement depends on the headset, which can also set the maximum bitpool size. If the BH-905 limits the bitpool to 45, that would only be slightly better than the stock 35. If you're interested, you can check the negotiated bitpool size with:
Code:
logcat | grep -i bitpool
.. shortly after connecting A2DP.
Note that this patch will have no effect on voice calls, since they use a different profile (HSP / HFP).
Using Motorola S805's here, and a very noticeable increase in quality. Looks like mine support a max of 53.

damn, thanks man. i hope that a port of aosp/aokp or cm9/10 will be out and then i will upgrade to it - and i believe there isn't a problem in those roms with the bitpool. btw how can i know the maximum bitpool of my headset? i have a sony erricson mw600.

Just connect them and start playing some music while running:
Code:
logcat | grep -i bitpool
Even with the 35-limited stock library it should tell you what headset requested.
How i do install it? Flash CWM? Both zips?
To all new users:
Welcome to the Help and General Discussion thread Of LG Optimus G PrO
Introduction
Made this thread with the intention that because of this thread the amount of spam posts in development thread will be sorted under the head of one thread only..
Read this all before continuing to use this forum or making a new thread to ensure you make the most out of it:
First of all:
Post in these respective sections according to their usage:
Let Us understand What these different sectionS mean -
1.General Section -
This Section General Section should be used when :-
You have something cool to share *When it is not already shared by someone else*
A thing which is not made by you but you know that will work on this phone and is not shared by someone else
Some topic discussion which is not about warez, advertisement, bounty collection, off topic, etc
Any ROM, theme, mod, tool, development related thing NOT made by you.
Any Off-Topic Discussion should be done in this thread and you are free to ask any type of question here. I will be ever grateful to answer you. And no question is noobish here and no one is noob here.
Any guide that IS made by you. Copying guides isn't good and if a guide is modified by you for our device then link to original thread should be included.
Any, tricks(not promoting or discussing warez), tips, suggestion, etc which are not created already by someone else
Any app made or not made by you belongs in this section and not development section.
2.Android Development Section -
These things belong to development section :-
ROM made by YOU
Kernel made by YOU
Tool made by YOU
ROM ported by YOU
All of these things should be tested by you
No KANGS(Copying other person's work without permission and/or posting it with/without credits)
3. Themes And Apps Section -
These things belong to Themes and apps section :-
App Made by you for this device..
Any special themed apk for this device
3. Original Android Development Forum -
These things belong to Original development section :-
Official releases of highly original and upstream custom ROMs (built from the ground up with significant original development within them
Official releases/development of such original ROMs, perhaps posted by the maintainer or their nominated person.
A significant “first” in development for a device. Significant is subjective, but it is likely something which took considerable time/effort, and is generally accepted by developers to be significant and non-trivial.
Kernels which are built with beneficial changes that are not simply pulled from other kernels already available. Some element of original work is expected.
Tools and utilities with a clear purpose, and which are well-made, and useful to users. They should have an element of originality, either in purpose or through significant improvement in the means of operation.
Significant port of a ROM from one device to another, giving enhanced features or functionality to users of the target device. The port should be beneficial (a port from two virtually identical devices isn’t original development, it’s winzipping, and nobody really benefits from this, as it’s not development)

So here
#Your opinions, chats, suggestions, tips, etc which can help other users. No flaming needed.
#Your discoveries. Don't post other's work as yours
#No need of using this thread as political or social or religious topic gossip
Hope this thread doesn't die and newbies use it and let the general section remain clean and full of genuine questions, guides and other much useful stuffs

I think the jury is still out on this one. Some people swear that you should unplug a device as soon as it is fully charged. Other people insist that you can leave it plugged in perpetually without any adverse effects. I typically charge my phones when I go to bed so I'm sure I'm technically "over-charging" my batteries, but I've never experienced any noticeable battery failures.

A little quirk but it's annoying me to no end: Is there a way to make the Contacts app add a new contact by default to my Google account instead of Phone? I use Android largely because of the contacts sync, but defaulting to Phone is a step backwards IMO. I couldn't find any relevant settings anywhere, nor anybody mentioning this on these forums.
Other than that, I love this phone.

Rooting/Warranty
So I am DEFINITELY new.... And as a start I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, or way. I am just wondering if I root my LG OGPro can the rooting ever be reversed in case I had to send the phone in for repair? Ex: Rooting voids the warranty of course, but let's say.... I don't know... Anything was to happen to my phone. Is there a way to reverse the root so that it would appear "from the box?"
I just want to know before I decide to root it. Thanks in advance.

Mine used to do the same thing... All you have to do is when you enter a new contact, select the Google account you want instead of the Phone or SIM. The next time that you enter a contact, it will automatically be selected as your Google account as the default. I enjoy Gmail for the contact sync as well. But I still have the dumb AT&T app set up for backup. Which I'm not sure why bc Google is MUCH more reliable!
Hope this helped!
hangouts video call mobile data
I am not able to make hangouts video calls on mobile data on PAC-man 4.3 Build 1(09/23/2013). i used to be able to make video calls on stock rom with mobile data. Am i missing something somewhere? Anybody else notice this on PAC-man rom for e980?
Hello.
I'm completely new here, I and wanna ask something very basic
How to make a complete backup/nandroid backup/those thing? I want to use other roms etc but I don't know how to make backup
At least a backup that can make me fix things when I destroy my phone
I did make backup, install rom, etc before with samsung galaxy young duos, but it seems everything is different with OGP. I don't even know how to boot to cmw. Like, press power and volume up and home button? Or what?
However I already rooted my phone.
If you can provide step-by-step on how to make backup and restore it (which I think the most basic things to do before going further), please do so. Any help is very appreciated

This ROM is in no way suitable for daily use and is only shared so that other fellow developers can take a look and maybe provide fixes to one or multiple things on the "not working" list.
Take it as a very early proof of concept.
ROM DOWNLOAD: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358554238
What I did to get this far...
1. I took the MI3W miui-germany ROM
2. I unpacked the MI3W's ROM
3. I unpacked the boot.img of the MI3W ROM (zImage, dt.img, ramdisk)
4. I patched the fstab.qcom and init*.rc files to match the Find 7a
5. I unpacked the latest OmniROM for Find7a
6. I unpacked the boot.img of OmniROM (zImage, dt.img, ramdisk)
7. I copied zImage and dt.img from OmniROM's extracted boot.img into MI3W's extracted boot.img
8. I repacked the MI3W boot.img
9. I bundled the MI3W system partition with the modified MI3W boot.img and uploaded it onto the internet for someone else to iron out the remaining bugs
What seems to work...
*) Basic Operation (MIUI apps, status bar, well what you would expect really)
*) Bluetooth
*) Wired Headset / Bluetooth Audio
*) RIL / Mobile Data
*) GPS
What doesn't work... yet...
*) WiFi (there seems to be some issues with wcnss / pronto / prima, this one is bad...)
*) Random Reboots / Blackscreen Glitches (from what kmsg tells me it seems to be related to wcnss, aka. WiFi drivers causing a critical error in kernel every once in a while, fix WiFi and this error will fix itself)
*) Speaker Audio
*) Rotation Sensor (and probably others)
*) Vibration
*) Skyline Notification Light
*) NFC

Just have to fix them.
Awesome work. Thanks bird. Any chance you want to try lewa os while you're at it. I personally think it is better. I imagine just how busy you are but just wanted to throw it out there
Porting really should only be done when there is no source available for said ROM.
For unicorn a source rebuild might be better.

Lewa OS is extremely similar to MIUI and that is why I even bothered to mention it. I know the developer is having some trouble with MIUI so I thought it would be useful and helpful to mention Lewa as it might be a project that will help the development of either or rom.
Please don't take a blunt tone with me (if that's what it was) as it only makes you look arrogant. Taking in to account our post and thanks scores it is quite clear who has contributed in a more positive way towards XDA. On that note; you might also want to thank MrColdbird in the OP for his contribution, which you have not done as of yet but you seem to be poking your nose in to the thread
That is all
Edit* I apologise MrColdbird if my suggestion was unwarranted.

Actually I've got 99% of the issues resolved already by using a different port-rom in conjunction with a few OmniROM injects.
At the moment only the proximity sensor (screen off on holding the phone to your ear) and nfc are broken, lte works, but needs to be reselected every time the phone reboots via the service menu (dialer code).
Sadly, I'm not allowed to share that (quite nicely working) ROM just yet as I switched port-bases to a unreleased chinese one in favor of the MI3W port-base.
Until that chinese author releases his first public port base-rom I'm kinda bound by the promise I gave not to unveil things early.
Just hang in there, it shouldn't be long until you guys have MIUI on Find7a... all I can tell you is that it works nicely and without any critical flaws I can see except those mentioned above (which we will get fixed too eventually).

Actually I've got 99% of the issues resolved already by using a different port-rom in conjunction with a few OmniROM injects.

Quite fast actually. By the way, I just can wait and see your nice work.
I'm trying to help, but that's all I can do right now. All the best on your effort.
I appriciate your hardwork. :highfive:
Hello Note 2 users...(ATT)
Here you'll find a set of modified files for our device that allow stereo sound from both device speakers.... (pretty sweet sound when they both play your music tracks)...
And for you AOSP fans, it includes a fix for that annoying in-call audio issue that forces a toggle down/up to get sound back to acceptable levels.
See below for installation instructions, warnings (got to love those) and other important info about the up's and down's of these sound mods.
First: Credit
Hosting for these files has been graciously provided by @rogersb11 and his AFH account. (thank you brother)...
Please mash the H*** out of his thanks button if you would please, for not only the space to host the files, but for his mad skills in testing and helping me present these for you. He also kindly zipped these up for me. (can't thank you enough man).
And to Cyanogenmod, for the bits needed to create the AOSP VERSION of these files.
Of course, a big thanks goes out to Samsung for everything we love and hate about our NOTE 2.
Second: Disclaimer
The use of these files, resides solely with YOU, THE USER...
I'm not twisting any arms here, so if you decide to go for it and your phone explodes.....well, you know the deal. These files were created for my personal device and use.
I'm offering them to you with that knowledge, and the choice resides with you, or not, to use them for yourselves.
I accept no liability if "YOU" flash these files and something happens that you don't like. (rant off)
These files operate at the hardware level, and "WILL" change the primary operation and sound outputs of your device. So please read carefully, and as you'll see below, MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR PRIMARY SOUND FILES !! (because you might need an easy way back should you change your mind)...:highfive:
Third: Install
The first file is for Touchwiz based roms...versions 4.4.x
Note: I've tested the TW file on 4.1.2 stock rom as well and it works perfectly .>>>>> UNTESTED>>>>may work on 4.2/4.3 as well....
On Android File Host, locate the StereoSound-TW-Note2.zip
Download it and place to the root of your SD CARD.
Once placed, go into your root explorer app and locate the following file in system/etc/. tinyucm.conf.
When located, use your explorer app and add .bak to the tinyucm.conf file. This preserves it as a backup for later use. (DONT FORGET TO SAVE)...:good:
Once your stock file is backed up...you can then boot into your TWRP or CWM recovery and flash the file you downloaded, then reboot/enjoy.
Note: Audio output enhancements have been made to the flash file, and volume levels will increase approx. 20% beyond the obvious addition of the front earpiece now acting as a speaker......
BE CAREFUL WITH IT !!
The next file is for AOSP based builds versions 4.4.x
Note: no lower android version testing has been done using this file. >>>>>UNTESTED>>>>may work on 4.2/4.3 as well....
On Android File Host, locate the StereoSound&InCallFix-AOSP-Note2.zip
Download it and place to the root of your SD CARD.
Once placed, go into your root explorer app and locate the following file in system/etc/sound. tiny_hw.xml.
When located, use your root explorer app and add .bak to the tiny_hw.xml file. This preserves it as a backup for later use. (DONT FORGET TO SAVE)....:good:
Once your stock file is backed up...you can then boot into your TWRP or CWM recovery and flash the file you downloaded, then reboot/enjoy.

Bugs/issues:
Anytime we change the root files for a device, a price is paid. In this case we have gained stereo sound and call fixes for a host of android versions/roms, but it comes with a downside.
During audio playback with headphones plugged in, we get a low level audio output from both speakers.
For some of you, this will be a show stopper especially if you are in the office or in other situations where music playing could end your fun.
But for those who throw their phone into a purse or pocket and blast music through headphones outside or during recreation, this downside is a small price to pay.
I will continue to explore and mod these files in an attempt to eliminate this bug, but so far my efforts break the stereo function and kill the mod altogether.
Should you decide these mods are not for you after flashing them, or if something does not work right, the revert steps are pretty easy.
Just use your root explorer app and delete the new file you flashed from it's appropriate location in your system file. (It will be right next to the file you added the .bak too.)
Then remove the .bak from your original file and reboot-done.
Edit:
Some users are reporting a failure of the in call mod for some AOSP variant builds.
If your are using vipermod for sound boosting, you will need to remove the viper driver before flashing the sound file for AOSP.
I'm working on a patch for this issue, and will update the OP as more information becomes available...g
Enjoy the Mods....g

Greg did these, I just told him which file for aosp, zipped and tested so as of this moment they must be combined for it to work unfortunately. However this will be gone into further because it 100% solves the incall issue. Just have to figure out how to seperate them. This was intended as only a stereo mod and then noticed the incall

Which AOSP rom are you using ?
I'm forming a list of builds that are presenting problems. ..and also the effects of other sound mods like boeffla and viper..
I've had no in call issues at all with pure CM, carbon, cyanide...and the list is growing.
Not to say that you are doing anything wrong of course. .I'm just interested in finding the problems so I can attempt a fix.
Thank you for the report. ..g

All the credit belongs to you. Solving the incall volume issue is monumental. Thanks for your contribution towards our still wonderful GN2. A very happy Thanksgiving to you and all the xda community.
Ok, so the thread i'm referencing is from the MIUI forum, but having tried it on my Pixel 3 XL, I am happy to report that it works FANTASTICALLY so far.

The OP is about a dbto.img replacement hack, using an apk called Lanthanum System Toolbox. The hack in question works great (I used the app to flash to dbto_a and dbto_b)
but the app itself is amazing. Forget init.d tweaks, magisk tweaks, searching for ever-better kernels, kernel aduitor, and all the rest.
There's a profile section which allows downloaded presets, the one for 845 SOC works great.
Only other things I should mention are that I had trouble dling the apk from xda, so i got it from their github (google Lanthanum System Toolbox) , and I'm running Colt OS - Enigma ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...unofficial-colt-os-enigma-crosshatch-t3953043)
, boot.img extracted using https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-extract-payload-bin-ota-t3830962
, magisk canary patched and reflashed.
oh, and it's mostly localized in chinese,
but there's enough english that i was able to use it with very little trouble
perhaps i got the wrong apk, cause the screenshots on the OP are english
I really am surprised that there isn't a reference thread in the crosshatch forum already . you may consider my tone hyperbolic, but try it and you'll see i'm being understated if anything. enjoy!
not sure how increasing the refresh rate helps battery?

You used the dtbo.img from the mi9 thread that you linked? For me when I flash the dtbo.img the app just closes and nothing appears to happen. You were extract the boot.img for magisk or is it required for the mod as well? Thanks.
Well if some are interested, I can prepare kernel revisions with 64, 69, 70, 75, 80 and 84Hz screen refresh to test. I probably won't be able to test it before uploading each revision, so it would be up to each end user to check it's functionality. Of course I can get zero/natha/ responsibility if some devices are totally broken after.

I used the one which is served directly from the OP I linked to..
I feel badly for all of the people who are having trouble with this.. bootloops and so forth. All I can say is I'm being truthful about the hardware and software I'm using, and it seems pretty straightforward to me. Using this device as my daily driver, still going strong.

ALSO, if the screen refresh part is a placebo, requiring a kernel modification to actually change, then ok.
Embarrassing to state, but I didn't actually test the resultant screen refresh rate, or really anything other than the subjective snappiness of my device.
So now I feel like I rushed to post, but I won't kill the thread because apparently melodystyle2003 is compiling a kernel. Thanks for that.
A small update, almost done with the first revision. I am dealing with some weird errors during the compiling procedure, that's why the 'almost' above, but hopefully tomorrow or day after tomorrow might have them tracked down and solved. After that, any upcoming revisions can be built much faster. My limited time can't guarantee any ETAs though. The guys that responded (with a like, quote or reply) to my previous relevant post, shall receive a download link of the kernel.

Why don’t you just publish your code somewhere on github, so maybe somebody can help you to compile a kernel with your intended changes or can review the changes?
I’m pretty sure you can’t overclock the display of the pixel 3 devices as we’re using command mode panels and not video mode panels like some other devices where it’s possible to overclock the display refresh rate.
If you’re trying to modify this line for the pixel 3 xl:
https://github.com/freak07/Kirisaku...oogle/dsi-panel-s6e3ha8-dsc-wqhd-cmd.dtsi#L17
It will do nothing.
It’s similar to what happened in this thread and was described in this post

Thanks for the information. On pocophone, changing the
"qcom,mdss-dsi-panel-framerate = <60>;" to the desired refresh rate i.e. 65 or more, was actually doing what was intended to. Have you tried something similar already that actually led only to the placebo effect described on the post you linked? If no, would you kindly do the corresponding changes in your kernel so someone can try it?

It´s not possible to overclock the displays of the pixel 3 or the pixel 3 xl that way. I don´t need to compile a test kernel to be able to tell you.
Displays running in command mode can´t be overclocked that way, unless you have access to internal files or you are able to flash display firmware to your device.
Both panels from Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL run in command mode:
https://github.com/freak07/Kirisaku...oogle/dsi-panel-s6e3ha8-dsc-wqhd-cmd.dtsi#L20
https://github.com/freak07/Kirisaku...google/dsi-panel-sw43408-dsc-fhd-cmd.dtsi#L20
Whereas the pocophone runs (as it seems more than one type of display across different units) all used panels in video mode.
https://github.com/d1stru3t0r/testz...qcom/dsi-panel-ebbg-fhd-ft8719-video.dtsi#L24
https://github.com/d1stru3t0r/testz.../dsi-panel-tianma-fhd-nt36672a-video.dtsi#L24
Panels in video mode can be overclocked this way, if it´s desirable is another question.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it´s simply not possible on Pixel 3 devices.
You can even unpack the dtbo.img, change the line you intend to change and any fps app might show you more than 60fps, but you just fooled the app into thinking our displays refresh at a higher rate than 60fps.
