Do you have a source for this info?

If you have custom recovery, you also will not receive the update.

Google pulled back the update for the nexus 4/5 due to SMS bug this does not effect the N7

If you have a custom recovery you will still receive the OTA notification, it will be capable of being downloaded if you allow it but it will then throw an error if you choose to install it from the "System updates" screen in Settings/About phone. That has been my experience with TWRP 2.8.0.1 and 2.8.1.0. I had been fighting the update earlier in the week, didn't expect to see it because I have a service disabled in google services framework that come to find out does not work anymore. Don't plan on updating for a while.

Not here in the US that I've heard of. As soon as I re-enable some services I will see it.
Screenshot is from my N5 that has TWRP installed, custom kernel and numerous modified system files.

Avaliable from today? Now i installing new update

Yes, it seems to work very well. Re-rooted with Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.3. Just had to re-enable usb debigging first. The toolkit even updated itself with KTU84L binary (4.4.3 for Nexus2013).
I just updated mine, nothing different though, I guess its only bugs fix

Hi guys, so I got the notification about the update, but I forgot I had to have the stock recovery to install it, and I pressed the install update, it locked my bootloader, but didn't update to 4.4.3, now if I go to system update, press check for updates, it say I'm on latest update. What should I do now?

Boot into twrp, and flash it manually, you'll find the ota zip in /cache.
Unless you are serious/correct about it locking your bootloader, which I never heard of an update doing, then you got a different issue.
I did the same thing, but there's no update in that folder

one got it, not the other
I've two Nexus 7 2013 units. One got the update message (and it worked) but the other has not. Tried checking for updates on it and it says it's up to date (running 4.4.2). No biggie, just curious that one got it but not the other.
Still haven't rooted either of them yet.

Nothing to be curious about, it's just the way they roll it out.
Go to all applications and clear cache for google services framework. Then recheck for update..

Not trying to start that debate again, but anyone considering doing this should at least be aware of this article before doing it: Don't clear data for Google Services Framework

Yep. Agreed, it's much safer to just side load it.

Agreed, blanket dumping of data certainly has it's place. I wasn't sure this was one of them. That and I'm honestly ot in any kind of rush to force updates. Still, it's been a few days and the one tablet is still not showing 4.4.3 as available yet. Both are logged into the same google account. No rush, my to-do list has PLENTY of other things on it...

[Q] Updating to 4.4.3 using OTA, System Update or Flash?

Im currently running a rooted Nexus 5 with PA 4.2-BETA5, of course with Android 4.4.2
Guess its time to update now, and 4.4-RC1 just came out, but im certainly not secure how to proceed.
Right now, in my phone im getting alerts that, from one side PA 4.4-RC1 is available but also i have notifies of the Stock Android version 4.4.3 is ready to download and install...
Which one should i install? should i apply the Stock 4.4.3 first and then the OTA PA 4.4? or just the OTA PA 4.4?
i also heard that im suposed to flash the radio/modem, is that true? if so, can someone please clarify?
Sorry if all these sound n00b questions but im not familiar with this yet.
Regards
You can't apply a stock ota on top of a ROM and our system alert is telling you there is a ROM update. I don't see how you can get an alert from google about an update.

Simply because the default google update check was not disabled by Paranoid, and 4.4.3 was pushed so the notification came in.
Looks like PA team forgot to remove that check

The system update section is tied into the ota app...
We have never gotten any notifications of google ota
Sent from my Nexus 5
Well, what can i say? i got it, and it was there for the last 3 days, annoying, since it cant even be disabled
a workaround was the disable the notification of google play services, which i did
I heard same stuff happened to CM rom were users where getting the default google stock notification about 4.4.3 being ready to download.
now i have updated to PA 4.4-RC1 and everything is fine.
And you didn't happen to catch a screenshot? Obviously if there is something we missed in the update section we want to clear it up....
Sent from my Nexus 5
I did not take any screenshot, sorry, but i can guarantee you it was the default room notification, a new system update is available, bla bla bla, 4.4.3 press the download button to start, and i also recall that the size was something like 93MB, 93.xx , cant remember the last 2 digits.
I never had a chance to look into the PA source code, but at least in the 4.2-beta5 which was the build i had running yesterday the default google OTA check was not disabled, and we all know that google release it so its normal to get the notification
I assume it would be just a matter of flash a device with PA 4.2-beta5 and give it a try, i was using hammerhead, a nexus 5 device...

Notification to Update to 5.0.1 is gone on Nexus 7 2013

HI,
I got a notification few days ago that 5.0.1 is now available for my Nexus 7 but when I finally decided to upgrade, the notification was gone and checking system updates show that my system is up-to-date. Anyone know how I can get it back? I don't want to use the zip file and sideloading. My device is a bit complicated because I have Multirom and Ubunut Touch.
Thanks.

I've tried that already even if they say it won't work anymore and it will introduce some problems but still no luck.
Maybe the update was rolled-back? The update was downloaded already and all I need to do is install it

If the update was downloaded on your phone, it may be in /cache. Remove it then check again update it will be fine.
There are rumors that the update has been pulled. Many people from other sites claim the same thing.

It's not there anymore. Probably it was deleted when I restarted. Could it possibly true that it was pulled-out?
I was actually searching for articles about it but no one says that it is indeed.

No more visual voicemail (voicemail tab) with com.android.dialer version 11

So since some days i don't have it anymore and i didn't change anything with my flashing method
1> firmware 5.1.3 or OB 12
2> rom (tried AEX, Liquid, Carbon, Havoc, any AOSP)
3> gapps (pico version)
4> magisk
5> noverity
I'm stuck and i don't understand why it doesn't appear.

Well, no.
But i'll give it a try and tell you.
At the same time opengapps haven't been updated since 5th July ... maybe that's the cause.
EDIT: still doesn't displays.
Will follow "unbrick" guide and make my phone full stock and see if it changes something.

Google Play system update problem

My Google Play system update was stuck on 1 July for several months now. And today I notice it turns red with no more updates available. Anyone have the same problem nor know how to fix it?
I'm on latest stock ROM with locked BL.
Same here, is there an update??
That is apparently the current version?
Same on my phone, but I could update it manually to Sept 1. now.
Weird that it was not done automatically.

Oh, mine had the update today. 6.3k, can't have been much in it.
I don't think it was automatic in the past either. But I have is updates set to manual so maybe that's why?

Same story on my other phone Samsung A30s. So I guess it's not A2 lite specific.

This was a problem for me as well. My moto g 5g was stuck on that of 1 August 2020. I searched all over the internet but couldn't find anything that would work. I even did a factory reset but that too didn't work and the it was still showing that no updates were available. But yesterday while I was using the "Multiple User" option available under the "System" in settings (not as guest but new user) and tried checking Google Play system update and surprisingly there was an update available. I changed from new user to the original user (admin) and found that still there was no update available there. So I checked back to the new user and updated the phone. Why Google treated the new user differently is something that I want to know?
