Maybe but a VPN would be a better choice. Private Internet Access is what I use.
There are so many VPNS I don't know which one to trust, I used to use HMA but I stopped after a year.

Care to tell of your experience?
What games did you play? What version of FPSE? What kind of router did you have? Was your partner using another Shield?

- Needless router, because the connectivity is done directly by wifi (like bluetooth), I tried it with a tablet and it worked very well.
- The version of FPSE is the last
- I tried to Crash Team Racing
Sorry for the delay in answering, for any further questions I will answer you without problems.
Thank you.

Lots of apps support Chromecast, like Netflix, Pandora, etc. If the app you're using to stream supports it (has a Chromecast icon) it should work. The only Google app I've ever used to cast was YouTube, but use Pandora and Netflix quite often.

cheers for reply,i will have a look see if it has icon:good:
think i'll just get a cable from nexus to tv lol seems the best option
The Watch ESPN app has Chromecast support, and if you have a cable or other authorized provider service you can get live ESPN streams in the app.
I think CC sucks. It is slow, the connection isn't great either. At least in my experience. I recently got the Amazon Stick TV and that thing seems to be a million times better than the CC I have.

Do you understand how the Chromecast works? The device sending the command to the Chromecast has no effect on the streaming capabilities of the Chromecast.
So back to my question: what does the Chromecast have to do with a Nexus 7 other than being able to send commands to the Chromecast to stream video from a source of your choosing?
You could use the original Droid, a Nexus One, a Moto X, a Galaxy S3, a HTC One, a Nexus 6, a Nexus 10, an iPhone 4, an iPad 2, a Macbook Pro, a Chromebook, or a Thinkpad X1 and the experience would be the same across all of those devices.
Does anyone know if it's possible to load the web version of Hulu on the Amazon Fire TV? I tried sideloading the Hulu app from the GP store, but it's the "Plus" version that requires a subscription. Other than that I was looking into the Kodi repos, but couldn't find a working script.
Any help is appreciated...
You can do it via PlayOn.

thanks, but not the answer I was looking for.
There isnt an app for the free version so you have only a couple of options. Sideloading Chrome might work or Playon.
Maybe there is some kind of plugin for Kodi but if its like Netflix, you have to be under Windows to get it to work.
There are a lot of browsers that can view the actual desktop hulu page, but none of them will let you watch video anymore, cause they use outdated flash support. Flashvideobrowser, Virtual PC Browser and photon browser will go to the PC verrsion of the page, but will not play anything, for the reason listed above, their flash plugin is outdated. Puffin will also go to the PC version of hulu, but will not play anything, cause the browser uses vpn and hulu has a policy to block private browsing, cause they do not want anyone outside the USA to use their site. I am guessing it will be hard to do on android unless you develop a browser with updated flash support and the ability to fool hulu into thinking you are on a PC.
Maybe there is an older version of the non-plussed Hulu.apk floating around that might work? Anyone know a site where such a file might be found?

There really isn't such a thing that I remember. Hulu Plus was always required for watching via mobile app. The only way you can watch for free is by using the website directly via a web browser...
Hi guys
I know there are threat about this matter but none of them have any solution . As you know Samsung phones have smart view which can screen mirror and control your smart TV.
Nexus 5x doesn't recognize Mira cast devices and with changing build.prop althogh it can recognize the TV but unable to connect to it. Do you guys have any idea to solve this problem?
I'm sure there is a software way. Because there shouldn't be a hardware problem with Nexus 5x .
Did any one connect a Nexus 5x to Samsung TV?
I think it depends on the year of the Samsung TV. My 4K is a 2014 model and doesn't do screen cast or mirroring yet my in-laws is 2016 and I believe does work.

Mine is a 2016 model and can't connect to it. There should be a way for this problem . Is there any way to port samsung smart view app on Nexus 5x?
Any idea?
Miracast was removed with (I think) 6.0. It's a proprietary API.
There's a few people on the 6p forums trying to get it to work, with little success.
You can change the following in the build.prop to get the Samsung device to show up on the list, the phone connects, but it doesn't cast.
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
You also need to set Allow WiFi in the cast options.
BTW, the Smart View app is just a remote control app. It should work just fine, as long as your phone and TV are connected to the same network.
Edit: really should have read the op before replying, I basically said the same thing as you!

Hmm. Will have to give it a try next time I'm over there. Although, I could've possibly connected via Chromecast and got mixed up.

Yes it works in chrome cast but chrome cast need a router and that slow down the streaming . The benefit from the screen mirroring is that your phone connect directly to your smart tv so you have a smooth and fast experience on it .a 3rd party device like chrome cast is not a good alternative for screen mirroring.

I wasn't saying Chromecast is a great alternative. I was just saying I might've not been directly connected to the TV like I originally thought. While we're on it though, Chromecast does get the job done for the most part though if your router is close and fast.

In build prop try adding wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable.

Don't it has to be set on enabled? In previous versions it had to be set from 0 to 1...

Has anyone been able to find a version of xfinity streaming app that works with Shield 2017? I have tried a number of versions from the FireTV forum without any luck. Would really love to find a working version for the Shield being the best android streaming box, but no one seams to care about the xfinity app!
It should be a matter of time now...read that xfinity was about to release an app for Android TV, but that it would be limited to Sony TVs at first.
Once it is released for Sony, I am sure that properly working APKs will surface for any other Android TV devices.

Well...of course you have to be an xfinity customer to be able to use the app...
Is that what you mean by "Xfinity network"?
I am streaming Xfinity on my Samsung tab pro 10.1 and various PCs in the house...but I also have the STB for DVR purposes (which can be streamed all over my network). I do not have their modem/router as I own my own, and still works as expected. I can also stream from outside my home on my phone.
If anyone is still interest I having a partial working version. Channels work perfectly accept for on demand viewing.

I am very interested, can you share what APK you have working? I am tired of having to cast xfinity stream from my laptop, I want a native app.
I am also interested.

Sorry to show up to the party so late. I have a version of the newer xfinity app. You can stream live tv and on-demand shows (obviously only channels you are subscribed to). It even has launcher support (meaning it will show up right on the homescreen). I was just bored and browsing, so if anyone is still interested I will share a link. Also, what I gathered, this doesn't require root, although my device is rooted so I cannot confirm that.

After setup, the main page that loads will be a "For you" page. Click the back button, it will load a page where you can select "Live" "On-Demand" and a couple other I can't remember. When trying to select a shoe through "On-Demand" I recommend using a mouse or mouse toggle. You can click and drag through the episodes list, so to select other episodes.
here ya go!
