[Q] Domoco NEC Medias W N-05e Root? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi I recently received my N-05e overall I looks good but I can't get my eyes of all the junk apps especially the dialer witch looks pretty ugly and is just annoying.
So what I'm asking for is a way to customize the phone, basically by rooting it or making a custom update.zip or anything that could give me full control over the phone.
So I have been all over the web looking for a solution to my problem and so far I have seen people saying that cydia impactor should work and there should also be a run_root_shell script that you can compile and get temp root access with that. Though I have tried both these methods and a bunch of international and Japanese rooting tools and I have still not found a solution to my problem so please is there anyone out there that have somewhat experience of rooting this phone?
Edit: the Chipset is a Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8960) if that's to any help
Edit: The only thing I have accomplished is to enter the recovery menu. I also noticed that the device has two adb modes one when powered on and one when it's turned off.

Is it just me....???

I feel really stupid on this forum. Everyone is so smart and knows what their doing most of the time. You all talk the lingo and I'm lost half the time. I'm trying to play catch up, read and learn as much as I can. How did all of you learn this stuff? I'm searching these forums and googling everything! I'm a new Android user(obviously)and I love my Nitro, minus the horrible battery life. I really like the fact that these phones can be modified a lot. So far I've rooted my phone and did the no carrier, blue icons and battery % mods.
Now that my 30 days is over, I can NOT screw up my phone. Basically I'm not going to do a thing to it till I have a clue. I guess there's a de-bricking write up, but that is CONFUSING as hell to me. I just need lots of detail, pictures, or better yet, a video to learn that kind of stuff. Reading how do the CWM doesn't look too bad, only because I googled it for the Nitro and there's already a few cites that made a clear write up. Installing a custom ROM doesn't look to hard either. However, all the modifications to these ROMS is overwhelming. Back to Google I go for all of that stuff stuff. I just figured out how to use Titanium Backup Pro, I think. What isn't clear is how to restore my phone with the apps/contacts after a custom ROM is installed. I know theirs more I'm forgetting, but that's enough for now.
I'm not ranting, just slightly frustrated don't understand it all. Not really sure what I want out of writing all this. Maybe some guidance, help, insight and or some answers to some of my questions. Thanks for reading!
It's not you, it's just like picking up on a computer, it takes time. I'm still a noob my most standards. I'm on my 3rd Android phone and know my way around my phones, but I don't know anything about development and don't really know my way around the Android file system that well. Here are some common terms that may help you out.
ADB - Android Debug Bridge, used for running commands to your device from your computer
Fastboot - It allows you to connect to your phone and run commands without booting entirely into your rom
CWM - ClockWorkMod, most common non-stock recovery tool
Bootloader - This partition loads your rom or recovery depending on what you need / select
If there's anything you're curious about just ask and I'm sure someone will help out. My ADB and Fastboot definitions are from my very limited understanding.
Check this out too, should be helpful. Found it on Google.

You'll do just fine so long as you don't try to do too much too soon.
I got started by simply rooting my AMOLED DROID Incredible, following some online guides. After that, I removed some bloatware. I kept reading about how to do more and once Cyanogenmod 7 came out for my phone, I used it. I've stuck with it ever since.
There are other things I'd like to know, too, like if I can get remove stock applications when I'm already using replacements (browser, email, messaging, etc.). But that might have to wait until I upgrade my device so that I can try it on this phone and not the new one.
Anyway, I hear ya when it comes to the steep learning curve. Baby steps, man. Baby steps. You'll get there in due time.
Sent from my AMOLED DInc using XDA App
Man, you haven't lived until you brick your brand new first android phone within a week and a half of purchasing it off contract I almost shat bricks, I thought my phone was a lost cause.
1st andoid device for me too but I love the customization that it provides and dont like the risks. The biggest mistake I have made so far is getting stressed about change. Consequently, I will lose some patience and not follow a direction properly or think through a step like I should.
I did start with TB pro aswell but still broke my phone by freezing the stock launcher then later doing a factory reset. But I would have avoided that if I had been more patient and doublechecked what I had frozen prior. The good news is that caused me to dive in to Malninion's debrick guide which forced me to learn the basics of accessing this phone through the computer and issueeing commands which are all pretty straightforward albeit uncharted territory for me.
Now that I have a basic idea of how to use the basic tool kit I will be installing the cwm but I am waiting a bit longer to let any issues reveal themselves and more importantly see how folks really o er from those issues. Then after getting a better understanding of wtf cwm is ! I will instaall/ flash one of the custom roms after giving them a bit of time to sort themselves out as well.
So basically my strategy is to go slow, don't jump right on with a new dev until those more knowledgeable about it do and give it a good going over.
So now I'm trying to read how to use Titanium Backup to restore your apps after a you install a new ROM.
I found this> http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/viewsonic-gtablet-technical/12513-howto-titanium-backup-restore-apps-system-data-new-rom.html I know not to restore system data though.
Now what is frustrating is this: (If you have the donate version, don't forget to save your TitaniumBackup_license that is in the root folder.)
I have the Pro version, that I am 100% sure and it all works. What I think is my root folder, there is NOTHING in there (/root). I tried a search using Root Explorer and looked in Astro. I can't find my TitaniumBackup_license.txt file. I've google searched trying to find where it is and apparently it's a big secret that everybody knows but me.
It's really easy once you do it a few time's, if you need help let me know.

[Q] Final fantasy 4

Hello, first post here (and sorry if the english is a little cracky:laugh
My phone, HTC wildfire S, rooted and unlocked about a year ago, had a few roms on it (fun to try some new ones^^) for now i'm running spock rom
My problem is FF4 and it wont start up, i read a lot of threads about it, i had the apk and files, modded googleplay (u need this to go pass verification) going to all the steps, and when i try to start it, it's black screen and back to homescreen.
I had read that FF4 wont run on rooted phones when u buy it from playstore, so only way is to download it from other sites, i had read on a bunch of sites how to install this, and it wont start up
Anyone had it runs on WFS mobile? know the mobile isnt very gaming friendly but was thinking:
"maybe there is a best rom for playing"?
"or a trick or two to go deeper to config the mobile for better gaming (no idea what i'm talking about here so if there is, please use easy words on how to^^) maybe cpu higher (or lower?)
very thankful for answer

Our phone's specifications are pretty outdated......I don't think FF4 would work on our phones even with overclocking

Yeah, u have a point there, it's true is getting a bit old, and the speecs isnt that good.
but its says that FF4 is working on our phone and the grapichs and stuff isnt that good, its basic a porting from the old game i think, or maybe the ds version and redone to fit a smartphone.
FF3 worked fine on our phone, and FF4 has not that much bigger speecs. So i should work and run pretty good i think.
anyway, i have tried a few roms now and test if FF4 works, but its the same result: black screen and back to home screen so i think i give up if not anyone has a suggest of what to do. :good:

flashing Arnova 7G3 with a mac

Hi, I've recently bought a second hand arnova 7G3 tablet (it was a bargain at £30!)
It's a good little tablet in many ways, and can do almost everything I want it to, but the supplied UI leaves a lot to desire and it can be very clunky. I would really like to flash a different ROM onto the device. It comes out of the box rooted, which is a good start
I have a mac (with no windoze partition) and have found an application called unrevoked - is that the right thing to use? I'm happy with the command line, but haven't ever done anything like this before.
I think either stock android or MIUI look like the best option for me, though I'm open to suggestions. I want it to be relatively light on resources and to look simple and clean. I can't seem to find these roms specifically for my device. Any ideas where to look?
Cheers
Dan

Stock ROM deloat?

Hi all,
My Realme X will be arriving early next week. Based upon a number of reviews I've read and viewed, I suspect that I'll wish to remove some of less useful applications on it, or even replace some with Google's own versions.
What is the best way to debloat a stock installation without rooting the device. I do plan on running a custom ROM later, but I want to give stock a fair assessment first.
Thanks in advance,
Bill
Hi
I've been using the phone since launch. Great buy.
I've tried couple of custom ROMs, went back to stock as the development is practically dead from what I notice so far.
I tried just rooting and removing useless apps but it just breaks the phone lol . Good choice on just looking to debloat without rooting.
Here are couple of things that I've done.
1. Look though settings , every nook and cranny of color os settings menu as it's very different and unnecessarily complicated . Couple of things you might want could be hidden behind doors . Go through every possible setting options possible and alter for your preference.
2. Uninstall bloatware wherever you get the option to do . Disable the rest if possible to.
3. For the bloatwares disable all permissions including blocking it from accessing internet.
4. Disable notifications / auto update etc for bloats.
I've done all this to the default browser, game space , the realme oppo app market , Facebook etc and phone runs just fine.

Thanks for your reply.
Custom ROM development is still very much active for it. However, Telegram is the most useful portal to access it currently. If you search for "RealmeUpdates" and "RealmeXOfficial" there, you'll find it.
I stumbled across this last night as it discusses how to remove the bloatware without rooting. You might find it useful:

Green screen issue custom rom question

Hello all, As some of you know, the issue of green screen/display issue has been reported by thousands of users. Here is my video of the problem:
With no official response from Samsung and the only fixes have been using OLED Saver app and having it at 100% brightness all the time, which isn't the best solution, but at least the phone is usable. My question is if anyone has had this issue and was able to permanently fix it by rooting and installing a custom rom? I want to do this, but don't want to go through all the work for it to still be an issue even with a new OS.
A side question regarding rooting: What downsides are there to rooting? I've always rooted older Samsung phones but haven't felt the need to root my current S9. Are there any issues using bank apps such as N26 and Revolut with a root phone?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
I've not seen a permanent fix, looks like planned obsolescence to me
