Re enable quicksettings pulldown - Paranoid Android Q&A

Hi,
How do I enable the quick settings again after choosing "no" the first time the dialog has shown?
I want to use the fast open right edge pulldown, but don't know how to enable it now.
Thanks!

The change log thread states that you reset on the spot preferences in settings, backup and reset...

Howto Hide Developer Options?

Hi,
I needed to use ADB to root my wife phone. Once done, I'll like to Hide the Developer Options as she will never need that option. It's safer that way, as I suppose I can make "Developer Options" visible again using the 7 taps trick.
Thanks for any help.

No need to hide it. Tell her stay out of it.

Woman. What did I tell you about pushing buttons you didn't understand.
Factory reset and don't unlock it again. You'd probably want to reset anyway between users.

So then it appears that the 7 taps trick can only Un-hide "Developer Options" but cannot hide it again. Too bad.
I wonder why this "7 taps" could not be designed as a kind of toggle.
You can deactivate them if that's enough for you (and if you haven't already seen the option).
Just go to the developer settings and in the top right corner you should have an on-off switch.
Clear data on the settings app

confirmed, it works.
nexus 4, 4.2.2, no root.
Long tap on Settings in the app list, drag it into "App info" at the top.
Clear data ... poof ... Developer options is hidden again.

If you already root and don't want to losing your settings just install root explorer..open it and navigate to data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/development.xml..edit and change value "true" to "false"..save and exit..then delete development.xml.bak..after that go to settings>apps>all>Settings..open it then force stop..then open Settings app to check it..voila! developer options disappeared!

Hi,
That's a geek worthy trick thanks very much. BTW, the Slim Bean ROM seems to do a little bit different. If I turn Settings / Developers Options off. The item disappears from Settings automatically. Seems to make more sense than the behavior of stock JB.

[Q] Notification Pane Settings

I recently got a gs4 for T-Mobile US. I've noticed that in the notification pane all the settings are there except for turning mobile data on/off. Is there a way to add it like the other gs4's? And no,its not there even under the expanded view.

No. Custom roms only. Maybe theres an app that can have it as a permanent notification toggle but that's ur only hope.

[Q] WAP toggle?

Is there a way to quickly turn the wireless access point on and off with this phone? LG doesn't provide the toggle in their quick settings and every 3rd party widget I try seems powerless to enable/disable this feature so i'm stuck clicking settings>tethering>hotspot>check the box every time. ugh. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Mine has it. When you go to edit the shortcuts you can add it if is not there. I have the Korean version though.

Quick Circle Help

So I just bought me a quick circle case and can't get it to work for the life of me . I have the quick circle option turned on under smart functions but when I close my case the screen doesn't go off. When I open it it doesn't wake and when I double tap the circle area with it closed I can't swipe to change clocks or anything. Any help would be great

Whilst we wait for the OP to come back ~ what about the 'Settings' option. Men is greyed out not allowing me to tick Settings.
Also, anyone else notice you can only select 'Messaging' when using the default text app. If you have any other SMS/Text app as default it then greys out 'Messaging'.
I got it figured out. I'm using a knockoff circle case and it didn't have the magnet to activate it.
Also have the problem of the quick circle settings greyed out so cant change clock faces but quick circle is working fine other than that

[Q] Getting back the AOSP-style quick settings panel

Is it possible to get back the AOSP-style separate quick settings panel (two finger swipe down for settings, nothing but notifications in the notification panel)?

bump, anyone?
so far i've tried gravitybox and g3 tweaks box with no luck
Seems the answer is not yet. Will be nice once development starts happening for this phone. Tweakbox handles most of it but the quick settings are annoying.

Probably never (and good riddance). Once L drops, it's all on one panel.
