Hey guys I had note 2 and I used to be able to import pdf files into snote so I can write on the pdf directly
I can't seem to figure out how to do that on the note 4. Any advice?

The only way I could do it (I was curious), was to open handicent office, then select share, as, image. Then, s note came up. Lol, it's a bit of a pain that way. But the only way I could find it to work.

Noooo!!! I've been eyeying phones to upgrade and if I go for a note 4 DE I really do use this feature a lot! I hope there is some way to make it work. It might be really obscure. It was slightly different on my note 2 vs my tablet.

Cool! The only other thing I can think to do is a screen capture, them import it into s note? This is probably only good for 1 to a few pages though..
Just a quick thought..

In s-note just tap on recent on the left corner of the screen.
then move to all
now in other settings( at right corner of the screen) there is an import option. choose imprt and tap on pdf file.
It can even import files from google drive.

The above is correct, its just annoying that there is no way to change the default on how snote opens, set to recent. I came from a n2 and the n4 version of snote is endlessly better.

I have hundreds of old pdf books that are formatted as 8-1/2 x 11... so they look like crap on Nexus 7 with any of the readers I have tried. What I would like to find is a reader app that will convert -- on the fly -- the files to a format easily read on N7. Any ideas?
I know I can use Calibre, etc. to convert the files before transferring them, but this is a royal pain in the rear. My files came from multiple sources so there is no consistency in data field info, etc. I would spend days converting them.
So the ideal world would be a Nexus 7 app that would take the existing format and display it in a more readable form.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,

Thanks, guys! I bought the $2.99 version and it does what I need and more.
Do you ezPDF users know how to change the font size in text reflow mode? It says it can be done, but I can't figure out how.
Ezpdf is the best well to me it is

Mantano is a kluge but it allows you to crop the margins which I dont think repligo and or ezpdf can do, and can definitely change text size on reflow as well

In ezPDF I just do a tap with 3 fingers and it fits the text to the edge of the screen, getting rid of the margins. It can do that with columns too.

Have you tried FB reader?
I personally just use calibre portable, batch convert everything into epub and walk away for a while. Then do a windows search for *.epub and dump them all in an 'ebooks' folder. Bam.
I'm having some problems with opening textbooks with ezPDF and Adobe. Are there any other apps that handle large pdf documents (~1000 pages) better?

Weirdly, the method I used most I couldn't get to work when I was checking things before replying. When in pdf display, tapping with 3 fingers would expand the text and get rid of the margins on my nook color (CM7) but now on the n7 its switching to text reflow when I do a 3 finger tap. Another way is to tap the middle of the page to get the bars on the top and bottom, tap the 3 horizontal dots on the bottom right bar to get the menu and choose "Fitting to Text Column". This also locks the scrolling. Or you can zoom to the size you want and use the menu to lock horizontal scrolling.
I found a manual for ezPDFat:
https://www.google.com/url?url=http...manual&usg=AFQjCNExz7WM3UoPlQX44LP1AOAOc5fHaQ
This is the first time I've seen one.

Tap with three fingers switches to text reflow mode on my ezpdf, which is not the same thing as cropping margins. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong?
The "fitting to text column" thing is actually kind of annoying to me, because I can't just scroll down after doing so (it actually locks me in a particular page unless I manually go to the next column, which is also annoyingly highlighted). If there's a better way to use it, I'm all ears.
ebookdroid is the only other app I've tried that that gets the correct margins. It also reads djvu. (Disadvantage: the official version doesn't have search; you have to download a beta version from their dev site.) The mantano margin fit was terrible, at least for my documents.
Adobe reader is quite good also

Actually, if you are looking for a sort of checklist like feature in s note, what i do is on one page i have the 4 x 2 snote calendar widget and click the "+" button and on the top it has "calendars" and "tasks". By selecting this I am able to use a checklist.
Evernote syncs across all my devices, phone, work phone, work laptop, home pcs. Was really hoping s-note would talk to evernote like the htc notepad app does.
used a Note II for over a year now
just upgraded today to the note 3, to discover that in the S Note app, when you create a new note, THERE"S NO PREVIEW!!!
before on the note 2, when you open the app, there's a grid style listing of all your notes, each one with a preview of its contents!
Very useful when you have almost a hundred notes!
I imported everything using my Samsung account, and EVERY note on the new note 3 phone has a "cover" over the notes!! no previews!
so when i open the app, im greeted by TONS of blue (or whatever color) boxes, making it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find the note im looking for!
are there any other users out there that HEAVILY use the S-Note app that understand my frustration???
Searching Google is pointless... and i swear ive been thru EVERY setting trying to figure it out...
why would they CHANGE THIS???!?!
anyone know how to get the previews back??
I found that if i go into EACH note, I can create a preview, and have to re size a preview box, but that would take hours for all my notes, and still doesn't solve the problem of new notes defaulting to having a preview for the "cover"
I know there's that drag down thing to see a preview.. but once again, this defeats the purpose.. its gone from a super useful app, to not usable at all!!
I need to see a list / grid of previews when opening app up!
HELP!!!
any advice appreciated!
FYI im not looking for alternative apps - so I don't need suggestions to "stop using" Snote I know its a semi-crappy app.. but REALLY>>>?? common samsung!!!

Yeah, the old one had it so I was annoyed that I couldn't do it on the new version. The whole replace it with another app, well... Lecture note, or ez pdf?
import pdf's in s note
To import pdf's into S-note:
-while on the start up screen of the app, click on 'recent notes' in the top left corner
-when that opens, touch 'settings' button and select 'import'
-select from which location you want to import (my files, google drive etc) and what the file kind is (s notes or pdf)
-Done

When i tried this, it doesn't find any pdfs on my google drive when there should be quite a few. It won't let me dig deeper than the first level folder structure.
Edit: I noticed that importing from my files tells me to select pdf or s note but importing from google drive doesn't give me that option.

when I try doing this, it asks it asks me to choose a different PDF app to accomplish the process. And when I choose Lecture Notes, the PDF looks awfully fuzzy.
I've noticed that trying to import PDFs fails pretty frequently for no apparent reason. And it doesn't seem like I can import more than 1 at a time which makes it extremely time consuming to import all my stuff for my class.
Anyone have any ideas for either of these?

ezPDF isn't free. And buying from google play is a nightmarish hassle for me (I doubt it is only hassle for me). On my note 2, I simply import PDF files and scribble away to my heart's content. The new S Note not being able to import the same way is vexing.

Hi guys,
I have just released a new slim pdf annotation app that targets those of us who want to annotate while we are reading documents. This app is not for note taking (for those who need that I recommend Papyrus).
My app is the slimmest PDF reader, with pen and marker annotation, I have seen. It is easy to use, and it allows you to annotate and highlight as you read. Exactly as you do on paper. It is extremely easy to switch between the pen and the marker; and to toggle colours.
Also – the app recognizes the difference between your finger and the stylus. Fingers are used to move, zoom and erase. The stylus is used to annotate.
A free version of Stylus Annotator is available on Play. Please try it and rate it.
I tried this and found it useful
iAnnonate
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.branchfire.android.iannotate
I've tried em all. If you're looking for something that you can take notes directly on pdf's while keeping the searchable text xodo and ezpdf are the best. XODO has much better performance and UI but EZpdf has way more options except it's clunky and ugly.
