My experience with kitkat on i9300i - Galaxy S3 Neo General

These are my experiences with kitkat 4.4.4 after I flashed it on my I9300I:
1. Frequent dropping of 3G signal on 4.4.4.
- I tried 3 variants of the 4.4.4 Kazakishtan, Hongkong and UAE but I still experience frequent drop in 3G signal. I had in some instances to reboot the phone to get back the 3G.I have not experienced such on 4.3 that came with the phone.
2. Weak Bluetooth:
- I use a Jabra clipper bluetooth stereo earphone. When I listen to music with the phone on my pants pocket the music sometimes stutters. I had to hold the phone up with my hand to get a better sound. Again not experienced on 4.3
3. SMS blocker not working on 4.4.4
- I use 2 SMS blocker apps- Mr. Number and Phone Warrior. Mr Number states clearly that it does not work on 4.4.4. Phone Warrior works only if it is used as default messaging app. Not good as it is not customizable- fonts are too small plus you cannot assign tones to the allowed contacts.
4. Viber causing the default camera to fail.
- The camera was working ok until I installed Viber. Then I got "Unfortunately camera app failed to inialize" error. I googled about this and found out that this is a known issue with Galaxy S3. However this does not happen on 4.3 so again a kitkat related issue.
There may be more issues still not experienced but since I use my S3 Neo for my daily phone I had to go back to 4.3..
How about your experiences?

[Q] Need Help: Bluetooth and Audio Malfunctions

hey guys, I got a serious question but I don't know where to go.
I am using this (Charmeleon Rom v5.0.0) rom on HTC X one originally delivered by the German Telekom.
Now I don't know cause I never used my phone without this rom. (I wanted to get rid of the ugly magenta branding asap )
Now, after running my phone for a while on this awesome rom I encountered some minor issues which I do not what they are related to.
1) Bluetooth connection often drops (link with car) but not every time used
2) Bluetooth audio quality is not present, regardless if using audio playback or doin voice calls. It always sounds totally scratched and stuttered regardless of bluetooth device linked to listen to (tried PC, Ford Audio, Jabra BT Headset)
The bad side is, bluetooth is pretty much unusable to be.
3) When on Carrier Internet (WiFi disabled) often the download or connection seems to get stalled/hung and will not recover redering downloads to idle infitively. They work fine after restarting them manually though.
4) Sometimes background apps (like the SystemMonitor) exit unexpectedly before they get restarted by the services automatically. Weird thing but not a big issue at the moment as it seems to happen to this background process only.
5) Beats audio sometimes shows up sometimes it doesn't (yes, always with packaged headset of course)
Does anyone face similiar issues? Does anyone of you know about this issue? Do you have any suggestions on what I could try to fix these issues?
Do you need a screeny of any system details of my phone?
Some help very appreciated.

Bluetooth calling issues with Android 4.1.* Builds both Stock and Custom

Has anyone experienced issues using the Note 2 with bluetooth headsets or car kits.
Basically what happens is you are on a call and within a few minutes the audio mutes and you cannot hear the reciepent.
Solution is to toogle the bluetooth headset icon in the dialer and the audio is back.
I have tried this with several car kits and headsets all new and even the Appradio 2.
It seems as though it could be a bug in 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 as I have tried nearly all the custom roms for 4.1.2 and the same thing happens and also the same with stock 4.1.1 and 4.1.2
It is kinda dangerous whilst driving as the whole point of handsfree is gone as toogle icons on the phone etc is a bit dodgy.
I have a friend also who has an S2 and it seems he gets the exact same issues on root and stock 4.1.2 roms.
Anyone experience this ?
4.1.1 & 4.1.2 both work just fine on my ioPlay hands free kit. I can even play music through it, no worries.

I'm having the exact same issues with my Samsung Note. First I thought it was my new bluetooth headset. I used Platronics Marque 2 and then the M55. Both gave me the audio dropouts that Woody_XDA described. I thought that it might be a Plantronics issue so I exchanged the M55 yesterday for a Jawbone ERA. Since I'm having the same dropouts I'm sure now that it has to do with the 4.1.2 update, because that's when they started.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
Best regards
André

[Q] No Sound via Speaker, Headset, or Bluetooth

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for me wrt to audio problems with my wife's Sprint Galaxy S3.
On a fully stock up to date S3, about 3 days ago all sound stopped working, this includes alarms, answer calls, key press sounds, playing music. However after a reboot, it would start working again for 6 hours or so, and then quit again. I assumed this was a software issue of some sort. I have an older rooted phone which I love and have had for years, I suggested that we finally root her S3, so she could get all those benefits plus fix whatever little software problem this was.
The rooting process when fine, and the phone now has CWM and CM 10.1.2 (Android 4.2.2). However the audio issue is still there and in fact a reboot no longer fixes the issue.
I have tried pluggin in the ear buds w/ built in mic, and those too fail to work. I also have paired various bluetooh devices like mini boom boxes etc.. they all pair fine however there is no audio output from them. No audio in the dial pad when hitting the numbers. When trying to play music the DSP Manager will crash, and then the music app crashes (tried Apollo and Google music). If I go to the sound recorder and hit record, it pops up with "Internal application error.".
So it seems all audio (speaker, mic, bluetooth, and headset) is broken which again makes me think software, but even after rooting and installing a new rom like Cyanogenmod the issue is here.
Any thoughts on what else I can try? Any firmware updates that I could apply specific to audio issues like this, or perhaps it is some sort of hardware issue that is preventing the software drivers from behaving properly?
thanks,
fishtek
I would Odin back to complete stock and see if the issue still arises. If it does then it could be hardware related.
Same problem

I have that sane issue and nothing I do seems to work.

[Q] Possible heavy memory leak [bluetooth]

Hi there!
I'm currently using this hardware: Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 with Jabra Clear bluetooth headset.
Running on ParanoidAndroid 4.3-BETA3, no overclock, no custom core.
Core version: 3.0.101-ParanoidAndroid
Build: pa_maguro-userdebug 4.4.2 KVT49L
Problem description:
When I using my bluetooth headset, phone randomly starts to freeze terribly, system process hangs and screen becames very unresponsive. Sometimes phone even don't respond on hardware unlock/power button. But in the backgroung system still accept my input, so then after some time it's frozen it suddently wakes up and respond to all input at the same time what I've maked then it's been in unresposive state. Bluetooth signal to the headset is lost often, then randomly resumes, and the system randomly kills running processes in memory up to the launcher. This mostly happens after answering or calling a few calls via bluetooth headset. Such behavior after problem occurs can be solved only by complete restarting the phone. Something similar to this I've seen before then running on CM 10.1, and very very rarely earlier on stock. Now on 4.4.2 this problem makes my bluetooth headset almost unusable. At the same time, basic bluetooth file transfer working fine and don't cause any troubles. I suspect this is some heavy memory leak in bluethooth sound stack.
Can this be a problem with the headset or it's clearly firmware? What can I do to solve this problem?
I myself an advanced user and can, if needed, supply any additional info or send some system logs.
I'm having the exact same problem with an LG G3 on PA but on Lollipop 5.1.1. Posting here just to check if anyone found a solution. Did you yourself find out what the problem was later on?
Also seems to affect all 5.1.1 ROMs I tested (at least four different ones).
Best,
Daniel

Need 5.0+ ROM that doesn't disable earpiece, speaker and MIC

Have been happily using my GT-I9195 for years but now that SSL is required my modern apps I need to upgrade from 4.4.2 to be able to run 2 required apps for my job that will not run on 4.4.2
I have 2 rooted I9195s and I have tried several custom ROMs (on each) but they all end up muting (or disabling?) the MIC, earpiece, and speakerphone so it essentially renders the phone unusable to make/take calls. Can anyone recommend a working version (lollipop or higher) for the I9195. I hate to have to give up my S4 just to be able to run 2 apps.
THANKS!
Mike

"end up muting ... the mic" so it works initially?
Seem to remember some people having similar issue & it was something like battery optimisation or app being blocked running in background. Allowing it to run in background or turning off optimisation fixed it, but can't really remember exactly now.
Hard to know what your issue is as people don't know which apps, protocol, which OS ver, if over wifi/data etc
