[Q] Hard Bricked Sony Xperia M - Sony Xperia M

I was trying to install nfsmw13 but the internal memory was low.So I tried to swap internal to external.I used Link 2 SD app and performed some some operations to allow swap space and app installation location.then, I installed Swapper 2 applied some settings and then rebooted my devices. The phone shuts down and never rebooted again.
Flashboot Mode not working.
Fastboot Mode not working.
LED isn't blinking whether I connect it to wall charger or USB connectivity.
adb shell commands not working,"fastboot devices" command doesn't return any output.
I read a preffered solution on code google forum and tried extracting the DreaIMG.nbh file to my sdcard and then, trying to switch on my device by using combinations of (power+vol.up),(power+vol.down),(power+camera button). The Home button is actually a touch type and not a physical button.
Please help if there's another way if I can unbrick it.At least it gives flashboot mode permissions so that I could flash stock rom.

i have c2004 the same problem after manipulating ( removing to creating new ones) partition system and userdata it reconized as qualcomm QHSUSB DLOAD 9008 in device manager .

after more reads i think that will be solved by jtag or the_laser make a new s1tool like decribes for z1 hardbrick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56841484#post56841484

No permissions for flashing!!!The phone is completely dead...:crying:It won't boot up to flashboot mode or fastboot mode...:crying:
Atlast, I gave it to service center. It's still in warranty period.Didn't told them about rooting and other processes which may void phone warranty. So,it's being repaired. They are changing the complete motherboard for free.

Probably for easier or faster repair. I don't think it's necessary, device like jtag should be able to fix that but it's Sony policy.

Sony Service didn't even tried to imply the JTAG process to repair...I gave them my phone in afternoon...and in the evening they reported me that the board needs to be replaced...Today, I received a message from the service center that the handset has been repaired and can be collected.

I'm afraid you can not update your hspl without a connection!
The mis-recognition problem can be a setting you didn't change if you're running on win xp. Please uncheck 'Allow USB Connections' under connection settings in activesync and try again
You'll then follow what Sallo2006 has said if you need to flash via Internal Storage.
Lastly, please go for tutorials before spending any time flashing roms!! You will find your way to success! Thanks.
EDIT: I recommend using mtty before flashing and hard resetting after flashing.

flashing on a stock spl will fail at 1% and you'll need to use mtty before flashing an unsigned hspl and a rom!!

EDIT: Sure he does have it!! But he said that it's faulty!!
do you tried to connect hte diamond with the "usb mode" like an external HDD ?

Thanks for all your suggestions.
USB cable is not faulty, but the actual USB 'port' on the phone.
It charges OK, but doesn't connect the phone to the PC/ActiveSync/WMDC - I connect to WMDC/ActiveSync via Bluetooth, hence wondering how I can hardSPL and flash if I can't get a 'hard' connection to PC.
Tried flashing via BluetoothActiveSync link, but doesn't work.
I don't think its possible and will have to stick to my stock ROM

i reckon you send your phone to repair and get that port repaired. Flash an hspl via usb, use mtty via usb and flash via internal storage!

Lenovo Vibe Shot Z90A40 Cant Turn the device on after miflash completes successfully

Hi,
I am not getting Qualcomm 9008 mode even after installing and reinstalling the drivers manually or via setup
I see this under Other Devices in device manager
QHSUSB__BULK
Then I ran miflash it worked fine as per following attached screenshot:
{

But when I unplug device and turn it on it does not show any thing, just a long (2/3 seconds) vibration and done
So basically I cannot get any thing on my screen, Plz help me to get to recovery mode, as if I get till that point
I would be able to flash a proper stock ROM form SD Card
(I have tried the things after removing SD card as well)
it is fixed now
I resolved it, the Diagnostics 9006 mode problem happened to my device twice due to various reasons
in first attempt I was seeing a lot of read only partitions when I connected phone, it was solve using QPST/QFill
before resolving this problem I was able to go to Stock recovery almost all the times but was unable to flash
any thing from there even with the use of SD card
2nd time the problem was same, but this time I was not seeing any partitions in my Computer
actually both times the real problem was going to proper 9008 mode which I finally got to know how to do it from
following thread
http://www.androidbrick.com/lenovo-zuk-phones-qfil-roms-unbrick-guide/
I feel I shall put the text as well:
If you were on Lollipop : Phone must be completely off. Pressing Volume Up
key plug the USB cable in WITHOUT PRESSING POWER BUTTON ! Port will open.
If you were on Marshmallow : Phone must be completely off. Plug the USB cable in
and immediately press Power On button. Port will open.
Since I bricked from Marshmallow, so I used the Plug in Cable + Power button only to got
to 9008 mode and once there I knew I can make a come back, which yet came after a couple of tries
as one has to click immediately on Download button when Qfil can see 9008.
Actually I bricked my phone a whole lot of times even after my post thats because once I knew that it is just soft bricked and I can get it back somehow, I got the confidence and tried advanced things that bricked my phone again and again
And it was only the recent time (around 3 weeks ago), that I figured the 100% working 9008 method for my phone
actually u have to drain the battery completely out then it will get 9008 mode to do it u shall try turning your phone on again and again so that battery goes off
For example: Press Power button for a few seconds to turn it on.
Or press 3 buttons at same time (VOL+, VOL- and Power), then release only Power button when you get vibration. Then after 2 seconds release both VOL buttons as well (this is for going to recovery mode)
This way you can drain all battery of phone, and you will know when the battery is all gone when you will press the Power button and phone will not show any LED light or screen light, it will just vibrate and will be off
Now you connect ur phone to PC in following way:
If at bricking you you were on Lollipop (Android 5): Pressing VOL+ key and plug the USB cable in WITHOUT PRESSING POWER BUTTON ! 9008 will open use Qfil to flash the ROM u want
OR If at bricking you were on Marshmallow (Android 6): Plug the USB cable in phone, then connect cable to PC and exactly at the same time press power button (some times u dont need to press power button so try with both options). Then if you see 9008 mode in Qfil, then immediately press the Download button in Qfil
If you see Qfil error then repeat the above process to get 9008 mode and use miflash instead of Qfil miflash worked for me better than Qfil from such situation as Qfil often gives error in between
And when you get the flashing 100% then phone will either auto restart or you have to restart it manually Using Qfil it shows u message when it is restarting the phone, and I think using miflash it just says process 100% complete then u have to restart phone yourself
Remember at this point (after restart) connect your phone charger properly in a electricity power socket instead of PC as the battery was already drained so you need to charge the device while it shows the long booting process due to new ROM flashed.
Good luck,

ZUK Z2 (plus) strange USB problem - No Charging, usb recognized.

Hi,
I have a new Zuk Z2 (plus), it's a month old now. I'am running AEX
Yesterday i would charge the phone but the phone would not charge. (see screenshots).
I tried 4 different charges including the orignal charger. Every charge gives the same result. 4 different USB-C cables including the original.
The fith charger (an old ipad 10W charger) works, the phone is only charging with that charger.
If i connect my PC the phone gives the same results. I can't see the device in device manager or using linux in lsusb.
When i poweroff the device and i plug in a USB cable the phone boots, and hangs.
Must user volume up and the powerbutton the reset the phone.
Even in fastboot mode i don't see the phone in my device manager or in under lsusb in linux.
I already tried to update from AEX 4.5 to 4.6, same result.
Tried to change the kernel from AEX to Heliox, same result.
Is the phone in a safe state? Why does android see that's connected but not charging, why is it charging with the iPad charger? Why is safeboot not working?
Does anyone have a idea to fix this? so that i can charge it with every charger again an can connect it with my computer?
Thanks!

Try to flash stock ROM with QFIL. Thus relocking your bootloader can fix it
Relocking the bootloader will not help, try a factory reset if you still haven't.

What is the best way to factory reset the device without USB.

You don't need a USB to factory reset, just head to settings and search for factory reset and go from there

That's the stange part, charging works with two different iPad chargers (tried also my gilfriends iPad charger today).
But not with any other charger while using the same cable.
The iPad chargers also works with 2 other USB-C cables, including the original ZUK cable.

Today I tried the factory reset without luck.
So a "normal" reset isn't working.
Bro, try sometime more on getting to edl mode, if you terribly fail then don't take the phone in that condition to service centre. 1st discharge the battery completely so that even the sc guys can't charge and boot it, so they never see the unlocked bootloader, then probably they'll change the motherboard because they ain't got talent to repair. Good luck, hope you can get to edl next time you try.

Thanks for the tip.
I connected to ADB using wifi and "adb connect" and reboot the phone with "adb reboot edl".
So i'am sure that my phone is in EDL mode, but USB still not working.
The iPad charge i'm using is 5.1V and the rest of the chages has other voltages, so i think the voltage regulator is broken.
I'm not sure where to get service in Europe and even if i can get service. I bought this device new on Gearbest.
Has someone a tip to get service?
Same thing happened to me also my phone only charges with a car inverter or car charger but doesn't with stock or any other charger. But my pc do recognise it as media device. Going to stock ROM and submitting to service centre tomorrow!

Nobody can remove ENCROCHATOS, try to contact ENCROCHAT support
Hi, did you manage to remove it?
I wrote Encronchat and as I expected - NO REPLY.
Plus I tried literally every f**king testpoint combination and nothing works.
I highly doubt they tampered with the hardware plus the EDL should be in the read-only flash memory, not on the MMC, so it's theoretically possible to get to EDL unless they managed to flash over that one too.
I will appreciate if anyone can dump the block from a working Aquaris X.
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/Image.img
The SD card location is an example.

Thank you for chiming in, although it's not helpful.
The phone cannot be put in ANY mode whatsoever.
Nobody needs to access data from the file system, be it encrypted or not.
I got an Aquaris X Pro for a daily driver and I made a dump, so the solution with the SD card I mentioned above does not work.
The only thing left is to flash the eMMC using the serial connection points on the board (DP, DM) ...
Hi , this has to be because BQ Aquaris is the phone with Encrochat OS secured - secret OS which disable Fastboot mode , recovery mode , edl mode , bluetooth , wifi , camera , apps , web browser , etc ...
These issue is probably because device was protected by some account and user has put to manu times wrong password and result of that is ENSCRYPTED DEVICE! maybe I'm wrong but that is just my opinion ...
It is difficult to get this device recognised by PC but ....
Maybe I think this pinout will help you to get your device recognised but since I don't have that device to test .
So all what you are doing is at your own risk !!!
Steps :
1. You need original micro USB cable or USB Type C cable .
2. cut the conector and saparate 4 wires :
red / black / green / white/
3. Now , unplug the battery flat cable from the mainboard and solder those wires one by one carefully like I show in the image bellow ....

4. Connect now usb cable on PC and see if it gets recognised , if not disconect the usb cable and plug battery conector and try again.
- If that doesn't work , unplug battery connector , hold Vol + and connect USB cable to the pc , if not then plug battery connector , hold Vol + and connect USB cable to the PC...
- If that doesn't work , If that doesn't work , unplug battery connector , hold Vol - and connect USB cable to the pc , if not then plug battery connector , hold Vol - and connect USB cable to the PC...
- Last you can try is the same proces but now Hold VOL + and Vol - together without the battery connector and plug the usb cable to the PC , if not then try again with pluged battery conector...
EDIT:
Two steps more I forgot to say and that is to short Data Minus and Data Plus , without battery connector plugged in . You can solder one wire on those DM and DP wires or solder one switch button so is up to you but I think is better with switch button to stop bootloop of reconecting ....
See Picture!
If that doesn't work try with battery conector in ...
Good luck , and let me know what's going on ...

If you haven’t already, then all your details and privacy has been exposed to government hackers. Google Encrochat to find out how serious this is. Pretty smart move of the guy selling you that phone. I bet he did it with false details about himself lol

Awesome... And I thought it would be a cheap smartphone. But the seller is still online on the marketplace, selling items since 2015 and still have some articles. I don't think he knows about this.
I already googled about this sh*t. Thinking about going to the police before they do.

Yes either hit up the police and ask them what’s your best move to make or see if you can fully wipe the system and somehow get a custom rom and kernel on the system.
Totally f*cked with that Encro crap...

I dont think, wiping is the best idea to convince the police that i bought it over a marketplace. And i dont think theres any way to wipe it. It seems that this fuc*ing software developer also manipulated the hardware, like some News said.
I have thé same private mode on my x2 but i try to do test point and my computer recognize my phone as à quallicom devise but which firmware is compatible with qualicom chipset on my phone.

[STOCK ROM] [QFIL] [GUIDE] Stock CyanogenOS 13.1 for QFIL + Unbrick from 900E/9008

Hey XDA!
I found somewhere in web stock rom for QFIL, that you can flash when your phone is hard bricked (like mine was) or when you want to remove Add-X for free. Here are the downloads:
Qualcomm 64Bit drivers
Full Qualcomm flashing suite
QFIL image
My mirror of QFIL image (use when AndroidFileHost is slow for you)
Here are the steps to flash it:
1. If your phone is in 900E mode and you can't reboot to 9008, get a spare USB type C cable or microUSB to USB-C adapter.
1a. If your phone can boot into 9008 mode without problems by holding all 3 buttons, go to step 5.
2. Now you must cut your cable like this (image credit: [email protected] from MIUI forums)

"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
3. Burn plastic on green and black cable
Something like that:
4. Now when your phone is fully turned off (you can get back cover off and disconnect battery), connect cable to your pc, short green and black cables together and connect it to your phone. After about 10 seconds separate the wires. Now your phone will boot into 9008 (aka EDL) mode. If you will get Unrecognized USB device prompt, connect battery when phone is turned on into 9008, detach EDL cable and connect normal cable.
5. Launch QFIL and set it like that:
6. Click "Download" and wait until finish. If QFIL will error with "system.img/cache.img/userdata.img not found" create empty files named "system.img", "userdata.img" and "cache.img" in stock rom folder.
7. When QFIL will finish flashing, hold power button in your Swift 2. It should boot to system now. If not, try to flash TWRP/Stock rom via fastboot, doing factory reset in Cyanogen Recovery or "fastboot format userdata".

I see your point about duplicate but I guess you could say @puszekkkkk added photos and info on kicking into 9008 ...your guide was the inspiration or first but both guides are useful to people ...hopefully i won't need either but neat trick with spare usb to get into qfil mode
This destroyed my computer :'-(
I'm sad/frustrated to report that I attempted to follow this guide and completely destroyed my desktop computer in the process! ? I made the cable exactly as instructed and made sure everything was carefully wired with nothing touching anything it wasn't supposed to. I tried repeatedly to get my ZTE device to boot into EDL mode but it simply would not. And then, when I was trying once again, holding the green and black wires together for a few seconds, I suddenly noticed an electrical burning smell. Looking at my beloved little mini-desktop PC, I noticed a very bright orange-yellow piercing light coming from within and then realized this was a flame!! ? I quickly unplugged the PC and ripped the case off, and then blew out the small flame that had started to burn a specific chip on my motherboard. I think this chip must have something to do with USB-port power supply/support. It's a very specific chip and not one I can find online to purchase to repair/re-solder myself. My device is four years old now and is unfortunately out of warranty. I called the tech support center for my device anyway (ASUS) to see if they could do anything, and also wanted to inform them that their product had caught on fire, but they just took my information and said they were sorry but that they couldn't help me with this at all.
So now I am without my main desktop PC. ???
And my stupid ZTE device is still a useless paperweight... ?

... Homemade cables are a bad way to enter edl
Use fastboot :
fastboot oem edl
Using test point:
Search on YouTube for a video on how to open your phone and "shorting" two contacts to enter edl ( this is the method used by technicians and manufacturers)
