[Q] Google Mobile App/Google Search/Google Voice

Anyone using Google Mobile App, Google Search (the individual App), or Google Voice?
What are your impressions, pros/cons?
Was just checking them out and wondering...
I use Google Voice and love it. It works very well and getting a text message of a transcription of a voice mail is very nice and much better than having to call in for voice mail.
i use google search and i like the today screen plugin, very cool

[Q] Google Voice Enabled Question

I've searched the forums for a while now and I'm not really finding the answer to my question.
Once it became available I did the whole 'Google Voice Enabled' to my number so everything will go to my google voice number. Everything is working fine except texting.
The main reason why I 'enabled' is so I wouldn't have to deal with two numbers (for SMS and MMS) and so I can use the regular texting app. In the app AND within the Google Voice website I have 'notify through text' option checked. Everything works fine but out of the blue it will up and stop working and NOTHING I can do will make it start again (even though at random times it'll start working again).
I hate the Voice app and had to uninstall it because, once again, no matter what I would do it wouldn't stop notifying me through the voice app AND the stock/handcent app.
Am I doing something wrong or is this something extremely frustrating happening to others?
Recap: I want to use my Google Voice number, no problems with the phone itself, no signal problems. Thanks!
Open google voice push menu then setings then sync and notifications. Then uncheck notifications via text message. After you do that you will get your notifications only through google voice unless its a multimedia message then its sent too the stock msg app

how to get sprint/Google Voice voicemail?

I signed up for the Sprint+Google integration as soon as it came out. But I never get my voicemails. How do you get notification of it or check it from you phone(without signing into google voice through the browser)
It runs through the Google Voice app and not the "Voicemail" app. So you'll need to download Google Voice from the Market and then sign in through there.
Figured as much...I just don't like getting the texts through there. I just want to get my VM

[Q] Google Voice and feature you use for on Nexus?

All,
I currently use Google Voice for voicemail. Which was what I originally read was great for. Now, I see that you can do a whole slew of things with GV, ie sms, calling, porting your # to GV?
Basically, I want to know what you guys use GV for? Why would you port your number to GV?
Just confused as to what people use GV for.
Thanks!
I use Google Voice to send and receive text messages through my browser (there's an extension for it).
I also use Google Voice with my Obihai 110 router at home so that I can use a regular telephone as my landline.
I use GrooveIP with my Google Voice number to make and receive calls and texts on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.
There are tons of uses for Google Voice. It's awesome.

[Q] Not getting text message with Google Voice

I ported my phone number into Google Voice. And it seems any text message sent to that number do not reach my phone. But I do get phone calls to that number.
I also get text message if it's sent to my phone's real number.
Not sure why texts aren't working with Google Voice. Is it because I'm on T-Mobile's Monthly 4G plan?
You're checking the Google Voice app, right? And you have the settings in the Google Voice app to have background sync, and notify you of new messages?
if you want the GV messages to show up in your regular Messaging app, then you have to configure that in the Google Voice app. Weird thing being it'll apply a seemingly random number for each contact when it "forwards" from Google Voice app to the Messaging app. If I were you I'd just use the GV App to save yourself some troubles.
Another level of troubleshooting is to simply go to www.voice.google.com and make sure your settings are correct, and you can check the messages in there to see if your GV# is receiving them.
Looks like the problem is on Microsoft's end...
I was trying to unlock my MSN Live account (to play with Skydrive) and it was asking me to send a verification code to a cell number (guess email isn't good enough anymore). But never got the code, tried several times. Then tried my phone's cell number instead and that worked.
Google Voice seemed to be setup just fine. So I tried a test message from voice.google.com to my Google voice number, that was successful. Then I realized I did get some texts a couple days ago from a friend on my Google Voice number.
So text is working on my Google Voice. But for some reason Microsoft appears to not be sending or accepting Google Voice numbers when sending it's verification emails. Weird.
This would be something on Microsoft's end. I use Google Voice for all my texts (because I used to have multiple phones and this made it a lot easier). But Facebook's verification texts also don't support Google Voice numbers.

I believe this is because Google voice can not accept short codes. At least I know this is the case for sending SMS from GV

Did you port your phone only a couple days ago? You need to wait 3 days minimum before texts start working. That's what happened to me - I freaked out for a while. Although if you want to see if _something_ works, you can ask another google voice member to text you. Intra-google voice texts will work. It's just when it comes from outside networks, it'll get lost. Sending texts out should work though.
