Activate LTE - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought the LG G3 D855 and the LTE option is not there for me to activate it. So I looked into it and found many threads and information talking about a secret menu. I can access the menu but activating LTE from the secret menu did not work for me. I still couldn't see the LTE option in my settings menu. I also found solutions where I have to root my phone, but I would prefer not rooting it for now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Disable 2G (LTE/UMTS only) solution

Sometimes the phone jump to 2G (EDGE) for no reason while HSPA and LTE work perfectly.
Here is the solution (and it will stay after power cycle):
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Phone Information
Scroll down to network mode and choose "LTE/WCDMA"
Reboot the phone immediately.
This method works for me.
Almost, its *#*#4636#*#*
Trying to do this on my D855 international G3, on lollipop, but can't get into the phone information .
*#*#4636#*#* works, but when I click on Phone Information, an error is given 'note this application does not work on this device' . I suspect a changed lollipop radio/Rom thing.
Any idea on how to achieve this another way?

Did you manage to fix it?
is there a solution for this on asop (euphoria 7/06)?.... after a call it goes to 2g and it "never" switches back to lte
New method:
Dial 277634#*# and you can get in Hidden Menu -> RAT Selection.
Typing 3856#*855# into the dialer allowed be in, then choose LTE, then RAT options.
Using the G3 D850 (AT&T) for t-mobile but it rarely conects to 4G LTE, it's usually on 2G, tried doing the above, with the *#*#4636#*#* code came up a error that I can't access that app, and in the hidden menu I couldnt find where/how to set WCDMA or LTE only, any new way to do this?
Qwerty when in hidden menu choose LTE-ONLY > then >modem setting> then > rat selection works on my g3

Optimus G *#*#4636#*#* menu problem

Hi, I just got an Optimus G, and I have a problem with *#*#4636#*#* menu. If I try to open "Phone information" from that menu, it says "This application does not work on this device". How can I get it to work?
What I would like to do, is to disable LTE network, because my operator does not support LTE yet, and I don't know how else to do this, than by this menu?
Also, which ROM would you suggest for someone who likes pure android without additional customization? I just want simple, stable, and fast ROM.
Thanks for your help.
Try going to settings and look for mobile networks options then change your network mode to GSM and WCDMA.
I would suggest Artmod 5.4 eventhough its not stock 4.4 KitKat, it still looks and works pretty darn good. Its flat design and very fast and stable. I haven't tried other stock ROMs but Artmod has a very good camera quality and best battery life.
That is the problem, there is no LTE option in settings, so I figured I would try to disable it through that menu. Any ideas?

What carrier is this problem occurring?
Have you tried deleting and reimporting APN settings
Have you checked whether the frequency that your carriers 4G Network runs on is supported by the G3?

Maybe with hidden menu access via dialer, you can permanently enabled it...I don't know the actual code that might work for your device..but you can find it through here..In general threads maybe
I had to set the proper APNs on my H815, additionally I had to tell it to use GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto under Network Mode in the Mobile Networks settings.

After that, it's been using LTE where available.

Thank you @Daptonic . I was attempting to use the "ATT nxtgenphone" APN because it works better on ATT devices but I guess the ATT Phone APN is needed for non ATT devices. Rebooted phone and it went straight to 4g. Thanks for responding.
Edit: dammit, it went back to hspa again......

Missing Option "Enhanced 4G LTE mode" [THREE UK]

Hi,
I am on Three UK and I do not see the "Enhanced 4G LTE mode" option under Mobile Network Settings. Any idea what might be causing this?
I am rooted and on stock OOS 3.2.1.
I understand that this might be related to an existing/similar issue.... (not sure though!)
Thanks,
I have the same issue no "Enhanced 4G LTE mode" using Rogers Network in Canada. Anyone knows why . Just updated to nougat...Still no "Enhanced 4G LTE mode". When accessing advanced mode via *#*#4636#*#* I see a place where I can toggle "volte provisioned" but everytime I exit the program the setting reverts back to disabled. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. OnePlus 3T user
Could someone explain what exactly is enhanced 4G mode? I'm on 3 UK but I've never heard it. Many thanks

Were you able to figure it out? The setting is also missing for me. I tried OP3, HTC 10, and Nexus 6p. The VoLTE provisioned flag acts the same way you describe.
