Change default call screen - Nokia X

Hello,
I am looking for a way to change the default call screen which sometimes does not work properly in Nokia X (for example call can not be accepted when moving the finger up-down). Is there a way to change the caller screen by replacing some system app? What about replacing the system app phone.apk with another one? Will it work? I tried some apps from google play but did not like the result.

Stock Call Screen on DHD

Hi guys
I have a quick question. I don't like the incoming htc call screen, because everytime when I get a call and I try to get the phone out of my pockets, I keep accepting or denying the call.
I already switched from the htc lock screen to the stock android one and now I want to have the original incoming call screen aswell.
To get the original lockscreen is easy.. I just had to delete the htclockscreen.apk in system/app
Howeveer I didn't find out how to get the stock incoming call screen. I tried to delete phone.akp and htcdialer.apk but then my phone and dialer stopped working.
Do you guys have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

No wonder that your dialer would stop working when you delete htcdialer and phone apks. You need to have them to make calls.
You can use apps to have different lockscreen. I don't know if it is possible to have both htclockscreen and android lockscreen together.

Yea I know the apps, but they don't behave as fluid and easy as the original call screen.

Is there any way to do the same thing with the HTC call screen?
Greetings
use "dialer one" from the market

But I dont want the dialer =).. All I want is to remove the incoming call screen from HTC (you have to pull down a lever in order to pick up the phone or push the lever up to deny the call)...
oh ok...the whole thing is incorporated into sense i think. So if you are not a big fan of sense you can try nosense script and and alternate launcher. But then you have to change the htcdialer.apk with something else

Yes that's absolutely the point. I used Android Revolution HD 3.3 with the no-sense script. However they decided to keep exacetly the HTC call screen because they think it is great.
I dont think so Can I for example switch the HTCDialer.apk with the one from the CyanogenMod Rom? Because I know that that rom has the stock call screen.
Sorry to bring this old thread up again, but I've got the exact same problem. The Sense call screen sucks. I occidentally reject calls whenever I pull the phone out of my pocket. Which APK contains the call screen? Is it contained within the dailer app?

You cannot simply remove the dialer apk. everything is integrated in Sense I am afraid. Unless you know your way around android files, I don't recommend replacing or deleting apk.
Anyways, the apk you are looking for is htcdialer.apk and htclockscreen.apk in the folder ./system/app
Good luck
Try No Lock from the market place its a simple app that disables the lockscreen or enables it maybe it may help you guys who dont like answering with the lockscreen

[Q] about full screen caller id

dear friends,
how can i change my incoming calling and outgoing calling picture? it shows just grasses.
is it possible?
thanks...
More info please.
Is it the same as your wallpaper?
What ROM etc are you running?
As far as I know it's not possible. I have a black background, the photo of the person calling and the answer / hang up buttons.
its no problem if i set up the photo for my favorite calls.
but if i didnt add a photo for other contacts it shows me grass photo only. for incoming calls and for outgoing calls.
i will show you if i can get screen capture.
i think i have to change theme but i have just one theme and cant get new themes. i thnik its the problem.
Ahh, so you are just referring to the default caller image when no photo is assigned.
As far as I know it is not possible to change that specifically other than by changing themes, as you say.
yes thats right. default image.
so how can i find different themes?
how can i change default incoming&outgoing call theme on Full Screen Caller ID?

short cut to call log

is there a way to create a shortcut on the home screen to call log because 99% of my calls are from the log?
I hate that the phone app by default launches the dialer, like anyone ever uses that. ideally it should remember the last tab but it doesn't.
Activity name in Launcher Pro Activities is "com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook.callslist.RecentCallsListActivity"
I can use LauncherPro create shortcut for this
Default Launcher need other App for Creating shortcut
I've try "AnyCut" but not work
You could also try downloading life.contacts it uses a widget to short cut to your most contacted..
Sent from the Arc.
Recommend you should use dialer one instead of default
You will forget default fone quickly.
I will do that

The apk was taken straight from the Nexus 5, and has the search feature actually working! (confirmed)

FAQ from the website
I installed the app but the icon doesn't show up in my app tray. What can I do?
If this happens on your phone, the only solution we found was to use Nova Launcher because it has a feature that allows you to run a specific activity within an app. To set this up:
Within Nova Launcher, long-press on the home screen.Choose "Shortcuts"Select "Activities"Find "Google Dialer" in the list, then tap to open it up, and select "Phone" (use the first one in the list)
This will put a shortcut to the dialer on your home screen. At this stage, you can use this to access Google Dialer. It's not the cleanest solution, but it does work.
Can I disable my default dialer?
The short answer is no. As a general rule, you will need to keep your present dialer enabled in order to receive calls. The long answer is that on some phones you might be able to disable your stock dialer, but on others you definitely cannot. Feel free to try it on your own device and let us know what your results are.
(I disabled the first phone apk of the 2 that show up (flashing adds another one and I had it A-Z order))
EDIT: After disabling the APK, when I select "Call" the phone doesn't show any call screen whatsoever, and still has a call going, (mic works, and you can call, but the only way you can hang up is to leave the app and click the extended notification)
Again, this is all them!

Can I remove entire home screens? Can I make folders in drawer mode? Where are photos

I can't seem to be able to remove all the extra homescreens so I have to remove all the shortcuts on them one by one. I also can't seem to be able to make folders in the app drawer as any kind of movement on the icon immediately tries to place it as a shortcut on the home screen.
Failing that, what suggestions do you have for alternate launchers or has that feature not been properly implemented yet?
Also why aren't my Google photos restored from online backup showing up in the gallery app?

You can set alternate launchers as default without any issues (need to use navigation buttons instead of gestures by default but there's a workaround) on v3.16 / v4.13.
I use Poco Launcher and these features are supported in that.
The gallery app has a weird sorting order as well that you can modify in its settings, however, if you can see your restored photos in Google Photos, I would recommend changing the default gallery app as well. I use Gallery Go but I think Photos works as a default gallery as well.
