Hi
I have a GT-I9195 with Android 4.2.2 xxxUBML4 baseband and buildnumber. If I update the device by Kies or flash it by Odin, everything works fine, except the baseband won't be updated, it is still baseband xxxUBML4 instead if xxxUCNH5 installed. So the Wifi doesn't work.
Even if I flash the modem itself by heimdall, it is still the old baseband installed, why? I have a Riff JTAG bridge, should I try to flash it directly?
My second device update worked fine.

semi-normal .... use modem.bin and make it .tar.md5 using tar md5 packer tool and flash 2 times using ODIN in CP section not ap
Thanks, I did an intermediate step and flashed xxUCNH3 first and then xxUCNH5 and now it works... strange
Got another device, I followed your hint, flashed the modem even two times but still no success. I flashed it back to the previous version and back again, even Kies does not work.
Is this firmware or the device corrupt? Have downloaded the firmware from sammobile
Update:
It seems that the modem is not release after a restart and can't be update. If I shutdown the mobile and remove the battery, the next modem download works.

Dear all,
I have searched the web and flashed my phone for over 20 times in order to fix it after my serious mistake, I got no clue and decided to ask for help here. My phone is N7105 bought in Hong Kong. I would try to describe my issue using the fewest words...
- How things happen
1, I downloaded the latest 4.3 TGY firmware from sammobile, flashed it using mobile odin pro as I want to keep the root. After that I cannot connect wifi. Searching the web revealed that this is due to the old bootloader issue as BL did not update if flash by mobile odin.
2, Biggest mistake here. I know I should try to flash the firmware again by PC odin. However as I was not able to have a PC access yesterday I decided to see if some quick fix can help. I found a wifi fix in XDA (wifi_fix_for_MJ2.rar). I know it is for N7100 not N7105, but as It stated it is a fix I though nothing harm (very wrong!!!) and flashed it. After that my phone got the wifi back but have IMEI damaged. The phone is not able to reconize my sim after that.
3, I flashed the 4.3 TGY firmware by PC odin after I got back to home. (So the bootloader is 4.3 now). IMEI still cannot be fixed and SIM cannot be read.
- What resolution I have tried
Now I fully understand what's going wrong and I tried the following fix, but they all not working.
A, Using PC odin to flash the latest 4.1.2 firmware. This not working as odin refuse to flash, should be the 4.3 bootloader prevented this.
B, Using PC odin to get root and CWM <- OK. And then got a 4.1.2 firmware in CWM update zip format, put it in ext sd card and flash it in CWM <- OK. My phone seems to downgrad to 4.1.2. IMEI still damaged, no SIM. And phone is unstable (may hang after a while if it put idle, need reboot). Although it is 4.1.2 now I think the BL is still 4.3, as I still can't flash any 4.1.2 firmware by PC odin. And everytime I flash 4.1.2 firmware by PC odin it will appear fail on screen, and also render my phone dead. My phone would then cannot boot up and require to flash a 4.3 firmware again...
C, Tried to use Kie firmware restore feature. It flashed the 4.3 firmware but can't fix the IMEI issue.
D, Tried the EFS Professional but I don't know how to use it as I don't have a EFS backup before.
E, I got a param.bin from a thread of XDA (not sure if it is a good one or not, but the writer said it is for N7105). I flashed it using PC odin, status unchanged. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47861647&postcount=242&nocache=1&z=8137774079208057)
- What help I am seeking for
1, Any EFS backup from you for N7105 which I can try? Maybe I can edit my own IMEI no. inside it?
2, Any way to restore the EFS data from flash?
3, Anyway to get back to a true 4.1.2 BL such that I can free to use PC odin to try different 4.1.2 rom? Currently I can only try to obtain CWM zip rom and it did not help.
4, Any other way which you can suggest?
Thank you so much for reading my help request...:crying:

Yes, it helped!
I searched this thread before but it was intended for I9305 but not N7105, so I did not apply the fix before. But the file Param_Bin_I9305.tar turn out worked for N7105!
Still if there is a way to downgrade my BL to 4.1.2 I am very much appreciated.
It helped for my issue also.
Quick description what was my situation as it may help others:
Got a N7105 with a 4.1.2 ROM. For some reason installed rom for a AT&T version 4.4.2. Got a NULL/NULL imei and no wifi, mobile or anything on phone.
Trying to resolve the issue installed stock rom 4.3 (from sammobile) and stuck on loading screen. Few attempts later and waiting at least 20 min after each odin installation I've lost all hope. Installed ParamBin file from the mentioned thread and what a surprise - phone booted and all is working fine.
Thanks for this post, saved me.
I extracted the 4.3 modem.bin from the sammobile.com MI7 firmware. I tried to flash it through odin v3.09 as administrator and it looks like it flashes fine, no errors etc but when the phone reboots and I goto to about device section it still shows the NB4 baseband version. Phone is working fines still though.
Attempt 2, I used cygdrive to extract the modem.bin and tar it and tried to flash it through Odin v3.09 as-well and had the same results.
I am wondering if I need to wipe cache for the new version to show? Or is that version number in the about section set somewhere else? Is there a way to verify that I am using the 4.3 modem.bin from MI7 besides looking at the about section?

You need to uncheck the "auto reboot" and mamually reboot it into download mode again.
Then you flash the modem one more time.
I did like it last time. But baseband version shows unknown. I tried regiona away then has NO unluck.
Hello fellow readers. I got S4 Mini LTE which was branded with French Orange. I flashed FW via odin that was for my country. Now I have a problem. From then every time I flash FW my WIFI doesn ´t work. I believe it´s something with Modules since flashing Viking´s kernel works but I want to go totally stock just with the new FW and I didn´t find way for this to work for the first time. Another problem is that when I flash FW with odin and boot up (first wiped system and data) it still shows the message "The phone has detected that the application tries to perform unauthorized actions" and little shield is shown in notification bar. I know I know- KNOX. But why? It should be stock so why the message?
Thank you for answers.
Search and try to flash modem thru Odin.

Ok thank you. Modem is flashed with FW via odin or it sticks no matter what FW you flash? And what about that KNOX warning after flashing stock? Is there something I´m doing wrong?
I tried to root my phone, But I put the wrong root method, then I used odin and went back to stock, now my phone has no unknown baseband, imei, ip, software version, PRl Version, and more... I used stock version and still no results. It boots up and after 2 minutes it reboots.. Can someone help me get this fixed? I tried going back to the old stock and use the new stock version still no luck.:crying:

Did you chdck the md5 after download? And also where did you download the stock tar? You may have been on oj6 and i cannot find the tar for that? I suggest downloading from sammy and use odin to flash.
Hi everyone,
I know this problem is well known and solved many times already, but I'm not being able to solve it by myself. This is why I'm posting this thread as a last resort to try and get some help, just in case i missed something..
My phone is currently with unknown baseband and IMEI on stock 4.4.2 flashed via kies recovery. If I try to flash any 4.4.4 port ROM the phone locks up seconds after boot, it will only work with stock rom. I already tried a few modems i found on another threads but no success.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

from sammobile, download newest firmware for your region and unpack it from stock rom and then pack it with 7zip to tar file and flash it with Odin.
you need sboot and modem

Isn't that a bit pointless? Maybe I'm missing the point, but if I already have flashed latest firmwares from both sammobile and kies, it kind of makes the point that modem and bootloader files from sammobile don't solve the problem, right?
Thanks.

Well truly doesnt seem pointless
I got my baseband resolved (Previously showed 'Unknown') by flashing pure stock rom (got from SamMobile) THROUGH ODIN so might be there is a point.
Try stock rom flashing from odin as according to me stock rom has everything in it radio(Baseband),boot(efs), system, etc etc
The unknown baseband and imei can be due to a modem and bootloader mismatch.
To confirm the bootloader and modem on the phone, install the Samsung Phone Info app from the play store to confirm the version.
