my HTC DHD cannot connect to wifi ad-hoc

Hi all,
I set up my laptop as an adhoc wifi .my Ex iPhone can see it and successfully connect to it however my phone can't see the wifi name
I've tried manually entering the connection name and password but no luck is there any solution to this I just dropped an Iphone I don't want to feel bad about it this way . I can connect via cable why not ad-hoc wifi
please is there any solution I'm now !

Android's Ad-Hoc functionality is disabled, so you simply can't connect to ad-hoc networks.
But behold, the dev community has created a patch for it.

will it be safe . I mean can I fix it if i doesn't work without Hard reset !

Yeah I believe there was a flashable zip to reverse the update posted too.

Didn't work my device keeps restarting. I had to re flash again.

Install Connectify.. It's a free app that allows you to turn your PC/Laptop into a HotSpot..
It works great. have been using it since a long tym to connect my DHD with my Laptop through wiFi..

Avoided poor internet connection

It started today. Everytime I try to connect to my WiFi connection, it goes in a loop of connecting and disconnecting and finally it says "Avoided poor internet connection". After I click connect, the signal drops from maximum to 1 bar. I'm on Arconium ICS, but I've been using CM9 before and I had the same problem (that's why I switched to Arconium). This issue seems to be present in all the ICS ROMs. Any idea to fix it?

There is another solution made by Mike Duskis at android.stackexchange.com/questions/22848/what-does-avoided-poor-internet-connection-mean (xda forums won't let me post the whole link). The solution involves deleting the files inside folder /data/misc/dhcp

Assign Fixed IP address
Hey i had the same problem on both Stock Rom and CM9...i did delete the files in the DHCP folder...but the problem kept showing up every few days....but i solved it completely by assigning a fixed IP address to the network...on both the router and phone

so this is it
Your device manufacturer/model : mito a300
Your mobile operator : XL,simPATI (dual gsm)
A dump of system log messages. what message?
Your ROM information : sorry i dont know,but i use stock rom
What you've done and what's not working : turn of wifi and turn it on,do same with the router,wipe data (phone) , reflashing,and use your apps :crying:

We cannot help for such devices here. You might want to visit device-specific forum or visit the main Q&A of xda-developers.

Turn off WiFi setting
What has worked on several of my android devices and my Win 8 computer is:
go to "Settings" and turn off the wifi. Wait 30 seconds.
Turn it back on and most devices will quickly connect.
A simple fix for the devices in my house. Good luck!

check IP setting (setting > Wifi > advance)
turn on/off wifi
restart ur device
check router if thr s security setting about ip or mac address
finally try to test another wifi network and if problem remains then flash another stock rom (maybe u get a bug in wifi)

so i suggest u to first reset to factory
OR
flash *Stock Rom by Odin
if u have software problem it will solve in this way and if u have hardware problem take to samsung service for replace

As a short-term test, set your access point up to be completely open access and see if the Note can connect to it.
If it can, verify that the security settings you add back in match what you're adding back in on the Note.
If you get to a point where there's an element you can't match, your wifi router logs may be helpful (depends on the quality of the AP how much logging it will do.)
The bad news is that some devices and some APs just don't play well together. Hopefully you can find a setting where your device is playing nicely.

Have you tried simply power cycling the router (unplug, wait a minute, then plug in again)?

[Q] Wifi Connectivity Problem on Xperia ZL

Hi guys,
Just want to seek some help from you regarding my concerns with my ZL (c6502). The problem is that I can't connect to any network available, may it be secured (just like our network in our house) or open network. I have already tried it with our network but it seems that even if I place my phone just beside the router, it still doesn't connect. I have tried updating and repairing with SEUS but the problem still persists. Is there such a way that it can be fixed?
Hoping for your assistance. Thanks.
PS: I have this build number in my phone: 10.3.1.A.2.67
EDIT: I have tried upgrading it to 4.3 and still can't connect with networks

It wud be great if u cud write down what exactly happens when u try to connect to a network? Does it lose signal? Or does it simply says cannot connect or something like that?
Its too much strangeness in one problem.silly
The wifi problem was supposed to be done away with android 4.2( build number. 423 onwards)

Hi Sir, it doesn't connect at all. When I'm trying to connect, it will just prompt "Connecting" and then nothing happens afterwards. "Association Rejected"

extremely sorry for this ridiculously late reply.
there appears to be some greater problem with wifi authentication process. i think u should try a factory reset.(dont frget to backup first.)
it "may" solve ur problem.

the problem seems to be with the firmware the soln i gave was for wifi dropping it seems somthing different now try flashing the stock ftf via flashtool of UR BASEBAND ONLY AFTER FULL WIPE AND NOT JUST UPGRADING IF PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS CONTCT SEVICE CENTRE

Micromax canvas A210 : Unable to get network bars!!!

Hello friends Im new in this xda forum and im facing an issue with my micromax canvas a210.
I have been using this phone from last 2yrs bt however from last 6mnths im facing network issue wherein I'm not able to get network bars.
i had factory reset my phone 1nce and from that time im facing this issue.
after that i tried hard reseting my phone several times and then too im not able to solve the problem
Sometimes I get network bt suddenly after some times it disappears.
When i manual search for network it shows error "unable to found network providers"
i think it may be some kind of software issue bcuz my hardware is okay.
bt when i put the same sim card in another phone it shows full network on the same location.
Kindly help me on this.
I came to know thru the forum that by flashing custom rom can solve my problem, if yes then kindly suggest the best custom rom, which can increase my phone's performance.
also my phone is ROOTED

ok... what are the roms that you have tried.
there are modems available as flashable zip files also
can you try and report please....
