Hi to All and specifically to Singaporeans,
Do you live in Singapore and are quite peeved that you cant read straits times in your Windows Mobile handset?
Well this is the app for you. With UI similar to metro, it allows you to read full articles without the need to visit Straits Times' website on your phone.
Now with offline reading capabilities for your transit needs!
The app needs CF3.5 and is created with the help of the excellent sliderlist by Obelix_A

Your last picture posted here has a grammatical error - 'has been', not 'has be'.
Tried this app. Very smooth.. in fact, a bit too sensitive.. When i scrolled, I keep opened links accidentally.
A ligther background or something more 'relax' would be nice I think. This is a bit too 'dark' to my liking.

as for the over sensitivity, rest assured i would be passing the feedback to obelix, the creator of the slider control; which is used in this app. I have to give him credit for making this awesome control that cuts the development by almost half when designing the UI portion
Would take that as a feature request and put it into my tast list for the next few releases
once again thanks for not only using the app, but providing feedback for it too. There is no point in people just using app without telling us, the developers, what they really want to see. Its after all you the users who end up using it on a daily basis. So thank you!

Just wonder - would you consider making this reads the other Singapore e-news intead of just ST? While it's nice to have one app for one news site, I really don't like the idea of filling my screen with few icons for different newspaper.

Also I'm getting this error on my HD2 once in a while after I quit or while using the app (can't take a screenshot for some odd reason)...but other than that, it's working fine. And I notice a 2 second lag when I scroll it way way up or down (till the icons are gone) before they appear again but meh, I could still live with it

initally planned to do TNP as well, but i soon found out that TNP is slightly harder and they lack online content.

Nice work. Have give it a try on Samsung Omnia 2 (i8000), after viewing the traffic info and back to the screen2 or screen3 section for the 2nd time, it very hard to "select" or click on the selection, (not sensitive) compare with 1st time selection.

tried on my touch pro 2. The software is working, but come to individual highway with traffic announcement, I can only see to top page, ie the page was unable to scroll down.
Suggect to add close app (x) button at the top, cos it's quite a long list to scroll pass all the highways to reach the close button at the bottom

Try using your hardware scroll key or button. Revamping the list arrangement, expect it in next release

Since you requested it, will plan for it but next release will only be road list rearrangement. probably after that will add in live camera view

This looks great. Downloading a map to try out right now

looks like mapdroyd.. which worked terribly. I'd like to be proven wrong though.
That said, new google maps (FINALLY) has caching... so whilst not a perfect solution, it should work OK for small areas.

remember this is fully offline even routing is offline.
and this is free and opensource, dont compare it to a huge company like google.
and mapdroyd is no navigation at all!
navdroyd is navigation but that is not free.
please first get your facts straight.

I didn't like it very much. The interface was a bit whacky and It is not very proactive in respect to setting addresses. It will not predict you simply have to type it all in. Navigon is free and offline and seems to be better for me and looks a lot more professional. Check it out karl999999 it's downloadable from the market for Australia at least. If not use market enabler and set your sim as Telstra AU then go back to market and try

for most people navigon is not free.
and you can not compare using navigon with a trick, to navit which is free and opensource.
navit is developed by a small group, if you have ideas goto to their wiki and post your suggestions.

I haven't really tried Navit while driving.
It is a pity the Cloudmade maps do not work any more. Pity, because you could download the whole of Europe and place it on the external SD. I think I'll wait updating until this is fixed.
I was not able to find a decent changelog on the Navit site. Pity. And searching for addresses is indeed not so easy, but the biggest problem is that the default country is the locale setting of the phone. It would be a lot better if it remembered the last choice.
That said, Navdroyd is not perfect either. It looks more refined, but Navdroyd had a very confusing user interface too. It routes well however and the price is okay.
I'm missing gpsmid (also open source) that I used on my Sony-Ericsson c702. Also problems with maps (couldn't be too large) but good address search and a nice displayed track to check where you have been walking. Routing was ok too. There was a start made porting that to Android using J2MEpolish but it seems to have died down.
Now I'm still looking for a walkaround GPS program, like a handheld receiver that shows a track where I've been and some waypoints I've set. If possible with an offline Openstreetmap background. Haven't fount it yet. Navdroyd does not display a track, but worse is that when panning the map it switches off the GPS, and I have to select menu - my location - show my location again.

[APP] Standby Touch - simple app for a simple job

Warning! This has been developed and tested on Galaxy Nexus. It should work fine on One X, but have a backup, just in case something goes wrong (can't imagine what)
Today I got a little bit bored and decide to make this simple app. As the name says, it allows to put the phone in Standby (Lock) with the touch of app's icon. I know that there are many many apps that do this, but maybe in the future I could add other options to it. So far it seems to work fine, I tested it with Jellbro latest nightly and works like a charm. Maybe I am too lazy, but because my phone is on the desk most of the day, I find it not very convenient to press the Power button...

Thank you for trying the app. The suggestion is great and I've noted it down. I will try to implement it in the next version.

I am using the app and haven't got any "wake screen" events. So hopefully works as expected.
I was thinking of a feature:
1. set an interval in seconds, let's say 60
2. set in the app, Enable touch screen to wake
3. in you press the screen on this interval, the phone awakes.
This of course with the cost of battery life....
What do you say, is is useful or not ?

Hi guys,
I have released a new version of the app. I have removed the Tasks feature as it wasn't too helpful and added Sleep Mode. So basically, the Sleep Mode shows for a brief moment (the time you set in Settings) 2 icons which allows you to switch off Sound/Wi-Fi/Data.
Here is how it works:
1. Go to Settings -> Zzzzzz Mode -> Set the interval in hours when you want the icons to be displayed. Set the milliseconds to be displayed and check the toggles you want to disable
2. Next time you press the StandBy icon you will see 2 icons on the screen. The moon icon puts the phone to standby and toggles off the checked things from settings. The sun icon, simply turns them on again and closes, without going into standby.
Any feedback is gladly received.

Do you want to display the sun uptime in hours:minutes format or the total minutes count? It's important for how the stuff is calculated

Hours:minutes would be fine, but if total minutes is easier, thats ok too!

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I must admit this slipped through the cracks and I forgot about it
I attached my current solution as a screenshot. There is one caveat though: this solution won't work if the sunrise and sunset are on different calendar days. This is a rather rare occurrence in most places, so I didn't make it a priority. If you need it working there too, I will try to incorporate that.

Thanks for this solution! I was getting close to this, but not quite there yet!! I live in the north, but not north enought to have sunrise and sunset on different days!! One thing I did notice: you have to add the 60 minutes for the math to work, or was this a test??
