And they are expanding the leather options with some from DODO case, PLUS they are finally adding the winning watch face from the face-off contest!

What happened to the good looking one in all the promo shots?

Is it me or are there still no links to actually purchase the band's separately?
Takin Notes..

Yup.. Seems like they ain't releasing the bands separately

So they're here, but not here. Thanks Motorola.

Indeed, that one looks much better. This new one looks crap.

Apparently ATT has the bands available individually now...
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/11/0...al-individual-watch-bands-right-now-from-att/
I can't tell if the "Gray Lether" is the initial Gray, or the Stone Gray (Based on Moto's Blog it should be STONE Gray)
Amazon has a listing for the "Dark Metal" band -> http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Mobi...sbs_cps_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0B9DJ4AVD63GXN0XAJB7 but its not available yet.

$80 for the metal bands?????????????????????????????????????????????
Thats crazy.

Are these bands even available for pickup anywhere? Or is this online order only

Went into an AT&T store today and the people there said that it's online order only.

More coming...
I missed that there are pictures of the future bands are available at -> https://drive.google.com/?tab=mo&authuser=0&pli=1#folders/0B8Kpi4PsQvSQVFBDRk1LOHA4ZGs
(link is found at the bottom of http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2014/11/moto-360-choose-watch-that-fits-your.html )
The pictures there show the Cognac_Leather, DoDo_Pumpkin_Tan, Dodo_Red, Dodo_Slate_Blue, Dodo_Teal, Tylt_Black, Tylt_Navy, Tylt_Olive, Tylt_Purple
Kind of interesting.
I wonder when they will the rest will be available, and from where?

It's probably a little over priced, but I just ordered one of the silver steel bands. If it saves my plastic from cracking it's worth it. I tried a Pebble band and it's ok I'm just really nervous the back will crank, I even Dremeled it a bit but it doesn't seem to take much stress off the edge of the plastic bottom. I will post back with pictures and more details of how it turns out if you guys want. And I'm not willing to void my warranty installing the super engineer 2 band, or whatever it's called, which also costs 80$ for the band.

do you have a link for the silver band?

Im concerned about the size of the bands. Im at rep at AT&T, and when we got in the moto 360 with the dark metal band i tried it on. It was really tight! Im a big guy, but not big enough were my wrists would be above average girth, so for an average male those bands are small. Are they sold in sizes? Can you add links to the band? I looked inside the box and there were no extra links. Am I going to have to buy the watch that comes with the metal band AND buy an additional metal band just to get links out of it to add to the main? Anyone know?

Everywhere I've read has said it comes with 4 extra links. One guy said he couldn't find them like you, but upon further inspection of the packaging, they were in a little paper envelope. Maybe you just missed it?

Its possible! I inspected the box very quickly because I was on the clock, lol. I will check again first thing tomorrow! Just to be sure, you are referring to the watch that already comes with the band, not the band by itself, correct?

Correct. The one that costs $299 and comes with the metal band instead of the leather band. I've been holding out this entire time for the metal band version to finally be released, and I ordered it from Best Buy today. Getting it shipped to store, so should be here in a few days. Can't wait.

Has anyone actually found the metal band in the wild yet, or is AT&T the only place you can get them? For anyone who has ordered from AT&T, how long did it take to get the band?

Thread to discuss 22mm watch bands !!

OK so I was reading that the 360 will take any 22mm watch band. Moto says that is the case, but that their specific band will look best because it's made for the shape of the 360. I'm currently looking at my Rolex for which I have a spare band for and I'm not sure if it's a standard band. I can't see from pictures how the 360 accepts the band, but I would guess it's just a straight pin that latches onto the left and right sides inside that slot the band goes in. If so that rules out my Rolex as it looks like it attaches to a middle piece.
What 22mm bands have you guys researched? Links/pics, etc. I think even a standard 22mm band might need to a more narrow link connecting the strap to the body. I'm also not sure how thick it can be.
Edit: Trying to upload a pic, how the heck does a tech forum like this have a 256kb (that's a freakin K in kb) limit on images?~?!? Do images that small even exist anymore?
I would love a cheap black metal band.
Edit: would any of these work?

i want to know what kind of connection system Moto is employing in the body of the watch. given the size of the face, i was hoping to integrate a bracelet style watch band.
note, my crappy photochop
Got my band waiting for my watch!
Strapcode Super Engineer II
EDIT: Doesn't fit. The ends on this band are too thick. It is also missing the center cut out to fit against the watch body. Don't buy it for the Moto360.

The plastic back of the watch could be removed. Then it's possible with a watchband tool.

The attachment method will use spring bars like on normal watches, they just cut out some metal to save weight.
I think it will look weird if the last part of the band does not match the length. At least on a small wrist.
I want a band like the one shown in the preview, it looks MUCH better than the one they're actually going with, the fact that it curves to meet the body of the watch is a million times nicer. I wonder if I'll be able to find a similar one from anywhere.
What do you guys think?
Busted my plastic back trying to pry it off. Be extremely careful with it. Gonna have to sell it locally for $20-30 under msrp to get some money back.

3rd party metal bands

Gadgetwhore has a post on 3rd party metal bands. I see the warning from Moto about possible interference with radios, but I'm still very tempted... especially when one is only $12 from Amazon. What do you guys think?

Meh. I say just get a band that you like and put it on. Maybe we should get people to post pictures of their M360 with their aftermarket metal band along with a purchase link and any special information so people could get one if they like it? But only bands that are actually confirmed as compatible and being used by the poster. Not to hijack or anything.

Yes, of that I am quite aware. Anyone who buys that ugly band...I deeply pity them - it looks like trash compared to their original (beautiful) render. They didn't even get the right dimensions when they created the connecting point. Have you seen the Engadget pics of it? It sticks out so far from the watch as if it's some cheap attachment. Paying $80 for that garbage?

The really interesting thing about that photo is it shows the official band doesn't just clip in, it has some sort of plastic adapter. The iFixit review thought that the outer steel casing was grounded to the internals. Motorola claimed metal bands can cause interference. If that's the case, maybe this plastic adapter is to ensure the metal band never touches the metal case, since the case may be the antenna?

This could very well be true or just a fabrication so that people only buy their metal band. Just look at all the bands everyone is trying/discussing and successfully using. Moto knew this might happen, but probably didn't expect it to this degree. So I guess, the only story for them to get any sales at all would be to say something like this plastic adapter only comes with and fits our metal band. So if you don't want interference, you can only buy our band, until some company makes a plastic piece themselves and charges 3-5 dollars for it. Then, their argument is completely shot, lol.

I like that stock metal band, it looks very nice. I think the reason it looks nicer than any aftermarket one is that it's oversized, you can see that the band is wider than the slot it fits into. I'd guess it's at least 24mm and also it doesn't taper.. It's such a huge watch it needs a very wide strap otherwise it looks cheesy.
I can see the attachment point looking odd if you have thin wrists, as the person in your pictures does. Then when it exits out it makes a sharp 90 degree turn down and looks like it doesn't belong, a curved adapter like many watchband have would have solved this. I'll bet it looks good with a thicker wrist though.
Here is a pic of the moto band unattached, I don't think its a plastic adapter at all. It looks like the attachment points are simply tapered down arms.
I got a relic band, it's stainless steel and I have had it on for about a day and no issues with any signal or anything

Hey guys,
we in Germany must wait till 10/09 to buy the moto360.
I am searching right now for a metal band. Before I buy one should i know how the surface is. Is it glossy or mat?
I am deciding between these two:
Glossy:

Debating a Moto360...

First time I have considered Android Wear. Is this watch worth the $250? Should I look into other any other watches? This seems to be the most reliable watch from what I read and more covered in the dev community.
I randomly jumped the gun. I just went to best buy and remembered that moto 360 was quite a seller. So I just bought one since I have 14 days to return. After almost 2 days, I actually like it. I did update my 360 but battery life to me isn't that good... Might be cause I was constantly on it though. I use Google a lot so it's convenient to me. Don't know what else to tell you, it's all personal preference

If you're fine with a leather band, go for it.
If you want a metal band, I would wait for the official metal band and not use a third party watch band.

Is it worth the $250 from a geek standpoint? Will the new toy buzz wear off quick? I do use Google apps frequently but will this watch make me end up using my phone anyway? Just trying to justify $250 for a watch.
I enjoy looking at my watch when I get notifications. Keeps me updated quickly rather than looking at my phone. I like the GPS notification, tells me my next direction on my watch. The apps made me like my watch more (mini launcher, pixtocam, 2048, keep, music, reddit, and wear speaker). I merge my sms with my Google hangout so that I can reply with voice on my watch. when you click the Regular samsung messenger app it just opens the app but that requires unlocking the phone before it opens.

Seems like silly advice. Plenty of people have had luck with third-party bands that cost a small fraction of the ridiculous price Motorola is going to charge for the official one (which no one has yet, so how do you know it will be any better for you?)

And for clarity purposes, the 360 with the metal band will retail for $299, and the band will be sold separately for $79.99. They announced this and showed it off at launch.

Is the watchband the cause of the cracks? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with all of the "cracked back" threads. I was just saying it's not been released / seen in person. If your recommendation was because of the cracking / warranty issue, then I take back my ridiculing of it.

There are folks who are experiencing cracks who have not switched bands and their return experience has been mixed. The poll elsewhere in this forum seems to suggest that those with steel bands (and skinny wrists) seem to be having the most problems with the back of the watch.
However, Moto is now starting to send emails that say if you switch bands, they will not honor your return request.

I simply recommended he wait if he wanted a steel band, It wasn't based on price or aesthetics - simply the warranty issue.
The difference in the Moto band and most other steel bands, is the pressure that the end of the band puts on the plastic lip that protrudes on the back of the watch. The Moto band's first flexible joint is outside of the circular watch, and thus puts no pressure on the plastic back. The first flexible joint of the pebble steel is directly under the plastic lip and may be the cause of some of the reported cracking.
Just out of curiosity.... how does Moto know if you replaced the band? I mean, if you send it in for warranty, coudln't you just put the stock band back on?
Thanks for all the info though. Interesting stuff.

Moto Selling Metal Band 360s

Hey, I was just online getting a Nexus 6 direct from Motorola and I noticed that Moto 360 is available with a metal band.
How long has that been available? Did I miss something?
Metal bands
You didn't miss anything, this was literally announced a while ago. A while being like an hour ago. They released a few things as well, not only the metal bands. Availability of new bands, such as Cognac Brown and Silicon bands as well, including leather bands made by DODOcase. Software update to the Motorola Connect also will allow you to customize the watch faces, add the Moto Contest Winner's new face and an updated health app including Calories and Distance. I think it's pretty cool and I can't wait until they release the bands separately (momentarily you can only buy them when purchasing a new Moto). Tomorrow's their AMA on Reddit, worth it to check it out and see if we can squeeze anything out of them about official release dates .

I doubt they would answer, but we could ask them if they made a hardware revision to prevent the back from cracking so easily. I mean, if it happens with a leather band, I would think it would be even easier to crack with metal putting pressure on it. Unless they made it so the first link in the watch doesn't move so it can't push against it.

Called Motorola today
I spoke with a Sales rep to buy just the band, but they're not ready yet.

The metal bands for Moto 360 seem to be quite customized from the pictures, in order to prevent touching the plastic back.

I was looking at that as well. Is the black plastic part of the metal band or the watch itself? If this is an addition to the watch to prevent cracking, this should be implemented with all the nonmetal band models as well. This would give many an incentive to just purchase the metal for this retrofit and then get a leather band as well.
Something is definitely wrong
Is it just me or does the moto 360 with the metal band look no where near as good as they made it seem in the concept pictures.
Take a look at this and compare it to what they are selling.

I know that I may be being naive but I honestly expected more.

The metal band from the concept pictures is a different model from the one they actually sell, you can't compare like this. Maybe in the future they will sell that model too, but seeing how long it takes them to sell even run-of-the-mill bands I don't hold much hope.
So you cant actually pick the bands up in a store anywhere yet, this is just for ordering online? Any idea when you can get these in BB?

So did I.
The bands they are showing now look absolutely crap compared to what was originally shown.
I'm seriously disappointed in Motorola, firstly for the flat tyre and now the crappy metal band they are trying to palm off on us.
Apparently they are also going to try and charge $80 for the band alone, they're smoking some serious crack.
When I got mine at best buy, there was a metal band available for $30. Said compatible with moto 360.

Huawei spare bands

Has anyone found the banda up for sale online? I bought the "Milanese" SS mesh one and I really like it but j wanted a spare one because I tend to break things. Its very well made but I will find a way to break it in some clumbsy way. A variety of bands would be nice with the quick change pins being a marketing point too.
Coming soon... http://www.gethuawei.com/buy-huawei-watch#bands

Thanks for posting that, I'll have to look at them.
Edit: I wonder why they are so expensive because I can buy a nice watch band from other real watch companies for that price. I was looking for a black Milanese loop to add contrast to the design as an alternative but not for $80-170 with the leather likely being $80, then the Milanese ~100-120, steel $150 and the gold steel and/fancy leather one sitting at $170. That's just my guess of their pricing scale
I have the stainless but want the mesh.

The Milanese mesh is really nice, I just wish a spare wasn't so expensive. If the watch were a Tag or Omega I would spend whatever on a band but it's a smart watch. I tend to break things so having a backup is usually what I do

I have the mesh, and it's very nice looking. However, the clasp is big time PITA. It's very awkward. Almost makes me wish they had one like...The Apple Watch. Sorry...

It're really more of a minor thing...but enough for me to complain about it...
There are times that I "think" I have it fully clasped, but it really isn't. It's like I need to make sure the clasp clicks twice. There was one time I only "did the click once", and I thought it was closed, but wasn't. Watch came off during apple picking...yay (sarcasm...to both the watch and the apple picking). However, I understand that's an end-user issue...but still...
The more of the PITA situation is trying to get it on. I find I have to hold the watch against my chest, stomach, or thigh and then play "thread the needle" with the sliding part of the band into the clasp. It's not super convenient. Also, tightening the band is fairly difficult. Maybe I don't have enough experience with watch clasps (I had a leather band on my Moto360, and I had a link clasp on my previous Citizen), but putzing with this clasp and band is a little more difficult that I thought it would be. Again, if you compare this mesh band and clasp versus the Apple Watch mesh band and magnetic clasp...the Apple product is easier to use. But then...I'd have to use an iPhone...
Is this super difficult? No. Does it make me wish I had a different band? No. Will I still gripe about it? Of course...this is a forum on the Internet...

Mien has a very distinctive click when I close it so it's hard to not know if it's closed. Apple makes things simple for people who don't understand/know technology so I can see why they used a magnet. I understand how you might not be able to tell its closed because if it's not lined up with one of the notches on the underside it won't close, but if it is lined up its very easy to tell. I regularly bused a leather band both of my LG Urbane and my mechanical watch so it is a chance but no one that's hard to get used to. I like the metal one personally because leather wears out much faster from experience, even expensive quality leather bands. I gave a buffalo leather on my mechanical watch that's really nice but after a year it needs replacing because it loses its nice look. I'm trying to find a nice Milanese band like the Huawei one but for my mechanical watch because I really enjoy the look/feel of it.
I actually wish they made a sport band so that I could wear it while working out or doing any sort of physical activity.
I just installed a third party stainless steel mesh band onto a black Huawei watch. Purchased the band on Amazon. For being really inexpensive ($10) it is actually not that bad  It's fairly comfortable and smooth, with no sharp links or rough edges on the band itself. Clasp feels a little cheap but sturdy enough. Again, no sharp corners or anything.
It doesn't have quick release spring bars, unfortunately. But it was not hard to install. Took less than 2 minutes using regular spring bars, and I was being ultra careful so as not to scratch the black coating of the watch. I could probably do it in less than 30 secs next time.
Also, it is not a feed through mechanism. It's the "interlocking" type. So that's a plus for those who find the feed through type a pain.
There's several of these around, and I'm sure they're pretty comparable with other cheap bands. Here's the link to the actual one I tried: https://goo.gl/P8alWI
When are they due out?
I wish I could find the black mesh band that was in some of the early promotional pics of the watch.
I found this one on Amazon. I wonder how good it is.

Hmm, their Apple Watch bands seem to get good reviews: 4/5 stars on most of them. I may order one of these tonight.
I wonder if this would work: http://www.amazon.com/Voguestrap-TX...=8-26&keywords=18mm+watch+strap+leather+casio

Please message me if you do. My black watch is shipping and I would love to get the black mesh one. So sexy on the black watch.
Here's my band, a third party Mesh Band that's 99.9% similar to the OEM Mesh Band and has quick release pins. Designed for the Huawei and feels nice, had it for a week now! http://imgur.com/a/B1Onc

Have to agree, I have the mesh and I like the looks and the ~infinite adjustment, but it's a royal PITA to put on.
I would love a black leather band for my black Hwatch. Anybody found one? Would prefer not a straight 18mm.
