[Q] Chinese Phone from Ebay (P6-U06)

Hi Guys,
I have a Problem with my new Ascend P6. I bought the Phone last week on Ebay and was wondering why I have no access to the google playstore. At least I called the Huawei hotline and they told me i have the chinese version of the smartphone. It is not prepared for the european market.

u have P6-U6 and i have same phone and i use it in europa
so its not that what they told u
U can try flash other rom like B125 from local update and then report back!

hey. Thanks for your massage. I flashed the b125 on the phone. That works. But now i get a lot of errors (android.prozess.media)
I think that is what you said with the GApps? What do i have to do? Where can i find the right version for my p6?

But this official beta update for OTA appeared long ago (11.06.2014):
/ /shop.huawei.ru/novosti/kitkat-beta-test/
Have already appeared variant with installing through TWRP.

What I find interesting about the new roms is that the kernel is compiled on an English based computer ([email protected] #1). I wonder who builds these kernels - is it the Huawei Germany or Huawei Russia and would we be able to ask for the sourcecode from them.

is better than the B510 (which was definitely not optimized) ?

Important! Bootloader should be unlocked!!!!!!!!!
Root - easy to get through TVRP too.

Just left my XT912 and buy a P6, right now am running on B119, can i update dirctly to official b511 OTA?....i saw on the threat that i need to flash B122, but B119 its a newer release than B122, so, right now im downloading B511, can i update it, then Root, then TWRP, and so to get PA 4.4.4?

No, you need to be on B122, as that is the official firmware in Russia. The update will fail on any other firmware version.

First you must flash TWRP, and then flash custom rom via TWRP.

Hi, i want to know if this is a stable Rom couse the B122 in my research have some problems like the option to choose the external drive as the default storage, also i want to know how to install b122 since if is the same way but you didnt say, by flashing the b122 it means i have to installed and flash the rom.. any link you can give me ? thank you

problem
Yo I unzip the file and when i unzip it its name is B513 when i try to zip it a bunch of files appear and a UPDATE.APP appear and a lots of folders what should i do? UPDATE.APP its 14MB i think its to low to install it any ideas? should i just put the Zip 513 and thats it? thank you

Since there's no awnser please rename b513 to update.zip and install I'm using 4.4

I don't believe this will work...

if it is the one by oxalis/surdu_petru then you can flash it as it is by twrp (2.7.0.0+)..
you dont have to do a flash of b122 or else..
just put the b513 (repack by oxalis) on your sdcard (root folder)..
switch into recovery (twrp) and do some wipes:
data,system,dalvik cache,custom cache..
then install the .zip..
after that do a dalvik cache wipe (and really just the dalvik cache)..
the reboot system..this may take several minutes (up to 7-8minutes in my case),so be patient..
and finally you should have the new b513 (repack by oxalis)..
if it is the one from ru..
there you have to go the way over b122 and stock recovery..just look around inside this forum..there is a workaround for this..

Just a simple and coarse review from my own experience as flashed 3 days ago:
- GPS/GLONASS is really snappy, quickest time to first fix ever on Ascend P6 with official/leaked Huawei ROM
- UI is _very_ responsive, Kitkat indeed is awesome
- GPRS reception and overall phone/speech quality is the best I've ever had on this phone, almost no fade-aways or break-ups.
Downside / minor issue: Using Bluetooth A2DP inside a moving car while Wifi is turned on still causes audio-fading, as with previous firmware versions. Turning Wifi off will make this go away and you'll have a perfect car stereo experience.

Sorry you cannot.You must on B122 if you want to use stock recovery.

Yes Also if you on TWRP than you can install while you are using B510 but i didn't choose this way. I installed B513 on B122

Every official Rom is better than any custom. Great job.

download from 708 to 512 problem

I want to return from 708 to 512 version and I used the method mentioned in this post :

but with no luck as it keeps fail to update the " P6_Unicom_EMUI2.0 " file.
any help is appreciated

try to flash the b512 boot.img and recovery.img through adb and theb do a force update with the b512 update.app/zip (don't know which format it has)..
maybe this direct way helps..

HI,
I am new here and sorry for my bad english.
I update my P6 on b708 and emui 3,0 is great but problem is that font is to small.
I can change font size but not size of menu letters.
i read everything on this forums but still i dont now how to downgrade B708 firm.
Please somebody help do downgrade my P6 from B708 to B512, B520 !!!

This firmware (officially) for P6-U06 yet,it is a remake from C00. When installing over firmware 706-708 enough before flashing to make wipe cache and dalvik-cache,data and programs will remain. Root access is missing(easily obtained via TWRP)
There is also a possibility through twrp to get the location of your region. All basic lotions work through cust.
If you want to register your location,write some and I'll post archive.

You'll need to install SuperSU from the Play Store. I flashed the SuperSU zip too, but for some reason, the SuperSU app didn't install, not sure why, but installing from the play store worked just fine. [emoji106]

The core of this firmware is very good. Additional core enabled init.d by default.The main advantage is the optimization of pvmat and good energy efficiency. To install as an update through TWRP. English is not my native language.Sorry)

I on the contrary was only through TWRP. What version do you have installed? And you can own flash archive,,,
