Bounty for unlockable bootloader! - Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

I'd gladly pay 50 dollars to anyone who could deliver a way to unlock/replace the bootloader on D5306. Or at least some kind of Loki to be able to load CM11 and recovery.

In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
My bootloader says it's unlockable. There has to be some sort of LOKI, or JTAG device that will replace my locked bootloader with an unlocked one.

If your boot loader is unlockable, all you have to do is follow instructions on that site to unlock it. There's no need for JTAG or LOKI

I have followed those instruccions; I have received the UNLOCK CODE, however it won't let me apply it due to the UNLOCKABLE BOOTLOADER.
$ sudo fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x583287831CA2E191
...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.004s

Thanks for the tip, but my bootloader is unlockable by that method.

I'm sorry if i sound rude but do you know what unlockable means? If it's unlockable, that method should work because it's OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED BY SONY ITSELF. If it's not, then too bad. You have to find some other way

I've seen previously unlockable bootloaders replaced only by Jtag. Or a workaround like a Loki created. My wife's S4 uses a Loki to be able to boot cm11.
I really don't think either of those things are impossible.
Someone who might have a 5303 or unlock D5306 lying around could extract the bootloader and put it on a Jtag adapter and package it with instructions on how to disassemble the phone, and reprogram the bootloader. If that can be done, then the bootloader should be open from that point onwards. I would gladly pay for one of those packages. Might be a nice kickstarter project to raise funds to ship the adapters. Or maybe a Groupon purchase. But impossible, I think not. I've soldered too many Jtag adapters onto Xbox's to replace the bootloader. I know it can be done.

Fastboot

I dont know if this would work or not but i had a lg eve before and i had to install fastboot through adb would something like that work on the arc? Or would it be too much work?
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
what exactly do you mean by installing fastboot on the arc ? it is already there you just need too enable it.
Not really to install but to unlock it. Or write a version that people with locked bootloaders could use. Just trying yo see if there could be a way to do it with adb

You can do that with Omnius It unlocks the bootloader without wiping DRM or any of the other negative effects. So you can use fastboot but still use TrackID and OTA updates and SEUS etc.

Bootloader unlock allowed no

Hi all
Is there a way round this I have read a few things but a little confused
Thanks

I think testpoint unlock will work

According to
http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
If it says the Bootloader unlock allowed is NO the bootloader is already unlocked is that right ?
That can't be right because mine is looked to orange and also says 'no' for boot loader unlocking and i have installed a bug fix update OTA and 2.3.4 via pc companion which would both brick a phone with an unlocked boot loader and mine downloaded fine.
Mine said no to unlock bootloader and was locked on o2 but I paid to have the sim unlocked and the bootloader for a small price of a web site, its a 100% safe and also you can still do OTA updates with out a brick.

Use jinx13 on this website, he unlocked my play, he will provide you with all the software you need, he does the unlock remotely using teamviewer, all you need is a paperclip.

No not at all, you don't need to sim unlock your device before you unlock the bootloader. Infact one of the features you get with the paid unlock method is, it will sim unlock your device too. So paying for a sim unlock first is a waste of money.

I looked every were and im sure every unlocking bootloader method was you had to have your sim unlocked first. If I new that I wouldnt of payed and I would of done it my self.

I'm serious, i know there is alot of conflicting information right? But the deal is, factory unlocked phones can use the official bootloader unlock method. Sim locked phones, even if you get the sim unlocked, it does not unlock fastboot, thats why you need the testpoint method, and a sim unlocked device defo isnt required for that, because my device was still locked to o2 when i got my bootloader unlocked.

If you think you can unlock your bootloader using the unlock method your self then do so but you wont be able to do OTA updates but if you pay you will be able to do OTW updates.

The 'bootloader unlock allowed: yes' doesnt always ahow up. It depends on the android version and some other things. Anyway, if it shows no value for it or it even doesnt show up at all, it means you cannot unlock you BL, not at least by IMEI code method. It is possible through a paid method by alejandrissimo, a well known and trusted member of xda. Just take a look on unlock-bootloader.com (maybe its free now, I dont know)
For unrooting, you should try flashtool (zerg-rush), or the unroot tool, maybe they work on r800at

Try the Zerg rush method in the develpers forum. look for it. just type Zerg Rush on the search bar... when i had my play with stuck, that was the way I got it rooted...

i used the "DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit [v4] (zergRush Exploit)" to root my xperia play successfully.

try the method in the Sony Unlock Bootloader Web site, there you can find how to know if it's and if you can unlock it..

[Q] How to tell if bootloader can be unlocked when buying a device

From what I understand, only certain devices can be unlocked and flashed with a custom ROM.
Is there a way to find out if a new xperia M will be unlockable? Something on the package maybe?

Yup ther is a way, follow this guide :
1. Open your phone app.
2. Dial *#*#7378423#*#*
3. A service menu should open up
4. Go into service info
5. Go into configurations
6. Look under rooting status
7. Read what is says after bootloader unlock allowed:
8. If it says yes, then follow this guide provided by sony to unlock your bootloader http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com. On the other hand, if it says no, then you cannot unlock your phone's bootloader.
Hope this helped

I was reading on the Sony forums a while back that you can. It was in the support for the Z forum so I don't know if it will work on the M. If the phone is locked to a network (the most common form of bootloader unlock:no) and you unlock it and THEN flash an unbranded firmware the bootloader status will change from no to yes. That post was made by a Sony support person too, but as I said, I have no idea if it would work on the M.

Hello New-Moderr,
You could contact Sony Support and ask if they could change the status of your phone after you've unlocked the sim of it. That might just do the trick, some people have reported that Sony will do it.
