Hey guys, basically, i'm new-ish to flashing, but i was able to do it following all instructions. Yesterday i installed an s5 theme from this site that caused my phone to have problems such as the wifi not working. I was reading that flashing a custom kernel might help, it didn't.
So i woke up, entered my TWRP custom recovery and stupidly factory wiped everything, now my phone wont get past the 'Samsung galaxy s III' screen, it just stays there. I have no idea what to do, i'm dumb enough not to make a recovery file before i started all this so i've ****ed up there.
If anyone can help me get my phone back i'll be extremely happy, i just want it working again! I have work in a few hours and really hope to fix it before then! Any help is appreciated.
well i posted this for someone else who wiped their phone, maybe it would help you. OR i got it all wrong. lol (i know, not so funny).
can you take your ext.sd card , put in different phone, download a ROM and whatever else you need. then place ext.sd card back in your phone and flash away? IDK, might work.
good luck.
err on the side of kindness
What mrrocketdog said, and you can flash a ROM with S5 theme already built in.. If you just want it back to stock, flash newest firmware for your device with Odin

So, to start off, I had CM7.2 on my epic 4g touch. It was working great but than I dont know why, I decided to upgrade it to CM9 just to get ICS taste. But than I went to system and did full system wipe and thats where it all started. It restarted and got stuck at big android guy logo with some square rotating on his tummy. It was there for good 10 mins when I decided to restart. Didnt work and kept going back there. I went to CMW and tried reflashing it didnt work. I tried different roms and than got stuck in boot loop. Than I went to download mode and tried to flash stockcmw_EL26.tar.md5 and I got cmw 5.0 something running. I than tried do clean wipe and install different roms. it will either get stuck at erasing /data or will not install roms at all. So now three days later. I am still stuck with a bootloop phone with nothing able to install.... PLEASE HELP ME!!! Its driving me insane. Also, I do have it flashed to boost which I really dont wanna loose. I also have nandroid backups which I tried to restore but they all fail to restore /data and restores everything else but ultimately, it wont still get the phone outta bootloop.
Your bricked. When it didnt boot up right the first time you should have odin'd back to EL29, or whatever.
Your data partition is jacked and you will need a replacement.
You should have installed it exactly like the instructions said.
Also you could not find an answer in the other 100 bricked threads in here... You are not the only one with this issue. Take a moment and read the results of others which may of saved you from the Brickhouse. Sorry not trying to flame you just this stuff has been all over the forum for days and days.. Oh yea using Touch CWM tisk tisk tisk....
Playya out!

I am only 1 month into ROOT/RECOVERY. I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 (SPH-L710) with BOOST as my carrier. Andriod 4.1.2 / Baseband L710VPAMG2. STOCK KERNELS. Currently have CWM RECOVERY6.0 touch screen. I was looking for a ROM to flash so I found one I like to try and BRICKED my GS3 in the process. I'm pretty sure it wasn't compatible. My phone would not turn it was totally dead. Anyway I found a help guide to unbrick with the sdcard from this amazing site (XDA) I Thank you very much! I got it to boot after 3 days of trying. I downloaded the files in that thread and continued to finish the steps. I still cannot get my GS3 to boot without the "OH-$ H I T" 16gb sdcard. I have tried flashing stock recovery in ODIN. I have WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET, CLEAR CACHE ETC... EVEN tried flash firmware once and it didn't work. If anyone can shine some light on my still bricked phone. I would really appreciate it I did search and repeat the steps that were given. I could not find anymore information on this problem. Thank you in advance...... also some compatible roms tht are good for a noob would help. I have downloaded a few and followed the instructions and nothing is changed. ....
How about starting here.

I really appreciate the help. I did finally get it to boot on its own. Although my phone soft brick again. I had to do the sd card boot over again. I formatted my sd and started putting files on it and 3 days later happened all over. I don't understand y? I wasn't flashing or doing anything. I plug it into my charger and it froze on me. I pulled battery and tried to boot. NO GO. Is there anything I can do to avoid this? Ima gonna keep the sd in case it happens again. Its a pain cause I need the space on it.
So I was running the New Rom gohma in the Dev section everything was fine and I flashed a update on my phone so I went to factory reset it to pair it to my phone and boom I got stuck in a boot loop. After my hour of being brain dead and forgetting how to get in the bootloader. Now I have that figured out. I can get it to take different recoveries but when I flash a boot.img and system.img it either gets stuck at the M or it just boots into TWRP (or recovery) . I tried to clean some things to make sure it was a fresh install using -w witch now even if I flash a system or a boot.im TWRP wont mount recovery or back up I must of brooked the partition. So im guessing there is a way to fix this but I feel like im going the opposite direction with a phone I would just go for it till I got it because I feel more complaint that I wont destroy my device. where iam starting to doubt myself of that with the MOTO 360. I decided to put it down for the night to try and get some advise or help from others. I really enjoy learning these stuff and im ok with it for a learning project as long as I can save it at this point. I was also very frustrated so I decided to take a break . ANY HELP ADVISE
Ok so I have a samsung galaxy s3 att and I have been rooted for the past month or so, no issues. Then, I decide to install a custom rom so I get a stable cm11 and attempt to flash it and it says my cwm version is too low so the reboot my phone so I can update it. The phone starts to boot and gets stuck on the att globe logo with the blue light pulsing. I shut off the phone, pull out the battery and try again, still nothing. I start getting scared so I restore the nandroid backup I made right before this custom rom incident and boot it, still gets stuck at the same place. I really need my phone fixed so can someone help me please??
I was talking to @sd_shadow on another forum earlier and was wondering if he could help me?

"all i can really do , is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
Don't panic
Grab the latest version of philz touch recovery https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/
The zips are made to be flashed from a recovery like cwm. Install it using cwm, reboot into recovery and philz should come up. You should be able to proceed with wiping and installing your custom rom at this point.
If the zip doesn't work out for some reason, you could also use Odin to flash a .tar.md5 from that link to update your recovery.

Bricked my phone ! please help!!!
Hello everyone, I think I messed up my phone pretty bad. So I did everything on this instructions to load twp and everything seemed fine. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s8+/development/rom-t3771206)
Was able to get to twp and tried to install Renovate Ice ROM. After the flash was done the phone kept booting into TWP. . didn't know what to do so I did the whole process again thinking i will get my original ROM back. ( i know, stupid mistake ). Once i saw that things weren't going anywhere i decided to flash the Stock ROM back in and try to start over, the flash completed but now i'm stuck on a boot loop, the phone won't turn off and recovery is unacceptable.
I really would appreciate any help and am willing to donate a few bucks if someone is able to get me out of this mess.
thanks!
