I've been waiting for this update to happen. Just curious of what would it bring. I heard the October date, October came and went, and nothing. Then I heard about November 2 (today), and still nothing. Have anybody heard anything?

It appears tomorrow is "upgrade day" for Google for a lot of their offerings.
Yeah, supposedly lollipop images should be available as early as tomorrow and hopefully we we'll see some kind of upgrade to ours watches, that'd be a cool movoment from google.

Dang nabbit. No Android wear 2.0 today!!! :crying:
Seriously!! where the crap are these "rumors" coming from. stop getting our hopes up dangit! i'm checking every day for info Android Wear 2.0 and nothing seems to be evolving. it'd be much less annoying if nothing was ever said about it to begin with, but there has been "speculation" for months. so frustrating.
Well it seems that Android 5.0 has been delayed due to the nasty "misc" wifi battery drain issue. I believe Google wants to release Lollipop 5.0 and Wear 2.0 at the same time......

I got it. Approx 12MB download.
Not 100% sure but I think it made some minor changes to some Moto watch faces, but I could be wrong.. Updates Play Services to 5.7.74.
Here's the official blurb from Motorola:

That's a pain in the as ss doing all that for 12mb
for 5.0.1 that stoopid reset/disconect/uninstall/install never worked for me
and i did it like 25 times
eventually it just came on its own.. so this time around i am just going to wait it out
Just like the previous attempts at forcing the update, the one posted here is a dud. Followed the guide exactly, and nothing happened. If it works for anyone, it's likely because it's their turn in line.
I'm guessing that with this update we will still be able to root and unlock bootloader ?
I just got the update now, I am waiting for my watch to charge enough to update. Figured I would post here if no one else has. I guess I will just confirm this.

This is amazing. For an old ass watch. Thanks Google
Wow great to hear that such an old watch still getting an update.
Anyway, still can't find any new smart watches that I think it's worthy to replace my Huawei Watch 1.
I saw a few videos talking about this update.. excited to see it! and glad its coming to our watch! i was just reading on how a lot of people downgrade from AW2.0 to AW1.5 because of how poor AW2.0 is.. I wonder if this new one will be better than both.
Hold your horses. So far, the only evidence we have that we're getting this update is an uncited and unknown Google rep saying that "all watches with 2.0" will get it. No official Google announcement has confirmed this that I can find. Also, that "list of phones that definitely won't get it" is from a Google post released in 2017 that simply states which phones will not get Android Wear 2.0. Call me a pessimist, but I'm far from convinced that we're getting this.
And if we do get it, I doubt it will be in the form of a firmware update, as some have reported. I suspect it will be just an update to the Wear OS app.

Just got an update; frustrated to see it is "android wear 2.16."
Apparently the wear os update is limited to oreo devices, but ours is nougat.
https://m.gsmarena.com/the_redesign...ling_out_to_smartwatches_today-news-33513.php
My guess is that this update is not a firmware update but mearly a wear os launcher redesign/update (supposition made based on the available screenshots) and maybe also of some apps such as google fit. This is why all devices get it (on wear 2.0) as it does not depend directly on wear os base version (Nougat / Oreo).
Edit: although from the gsmarena article the update is called Wear OS 2.1, so who knows. We play the waiting game...
I wish we would have a clear answer, I got a bit excited thinking I would have it and tried forcing an update in various ways.
i'm excited for the new Wear OS (3.0?) .. i'm still on 2.16.. Someone let us know when it arrives!

It's rolling out now. There's a complicated but confirmed working (I did it) method to trigger it that has been described in other threads on this forum. People have also reported triggering it by uninstalling and reinstalling the wear os app from the watch. Either way, you'll probably see it any day now.
As I suspected, it's a wear os app update (must be version 2.16 or later), not a firmware update.

That's what I thought too. Testing phase is generally pretty close to release. But we usually get a beta program first, so who knows.
Wow! If it's released in 2019, I'll be amazed.
I don't think it's to good to be true last i recall google did a new program to work with other phone manufacturer to get the latest update out faster.

That was in effect on the Note9 too (Project Treble?). Which, admittedly, the Note9 got Pie faster than the Note8 got Oreo (about two months sooner) but it was still February of the following year (after release). This seems much quicker!
If Samsung pushes out the latest software just weeks or a couple months after Google releases it, I'll be in utter shock. I confirmed it says its in testing on Tmobile site. I'm cautiously excited!
I don't doubt that it's in the testing phase. But that doesn't mean much - products can be in testing for a very long time. We can infer from this that we will (probably) get Android 10. That isn't a surprise. But we can't infer when that will happen.
I would not be so enthusiast about android 10, I read an article here in XDA about how convoluted the file management is
They'll be testing until next year, dont hold you're breathe

While testing products can last a very long time, typically when carriers state the next OS update is in the testing phase, that means they are fairly close to release. It means they have the final version and are making sure it works on their network prior to release.

That is interesting. I'll have to see how it works IRL, but it sounds cumbersome.
I'm not so much excited about the update to Q itself, as I am the anticipation and leaks leading up to it. Honestly the leaked video of Q didn't really show anything groundbreaking, which is fine. Pie works great on this phone.

^This! I had Tmobile branded phones from the Galaxy S until my Note 10+. The longest I've waited once it went to testing was 6 weeks. Least was 2 weeks.
While I'm skeptical, I believe this isn't fake and maybe it's the next step for Samsung phones. Fingers crossed! (Go Project Treble?!?! )
Available a month after everyone is using the S11.
Once I receive my note10+, first thing I will do is block updates, just in case android 10 has some serious bugs or battery hogging issues, or anything I dont like, after evaluating o confirmation that android 10 indeed is a worthy update, i would update

How would you do that on a locked 10+??
First Monday of the month is typically when the updates hit, isn't it?
Also, it should be Feature Drop time. But no mention of it anywhere. Maybe just small update to come or there will be one next Monday?
Not until 1pm EST.
They confirmed it's delayed again
Delayed, plus the "feature drop" consists of some mediocre Snapchat stuff, an oversized battery widget and a couple stickers. The Pixel 6 turns into a disappointment. Non-existent feature drops, massive bugs, delayed updates... not a good track record.
Bipolar chat in the forums.. 13 Dev 2 comes out Thursday. I would think it will be out by the 15th or so latest.

I'm starting to regret it too, but we don't have many other options. Chinese phones that I refuse to buy, or Samsung phones that throttle apps. Right now they are all bad.
Hehe. It's funny.
U can see similar post in every phone topic.
Before use OnePlus 7pro and and was exactly same
When updating not on time.
There's no other phone worth considering. OnePlus is dead and Samsung has too much bloat and baggage.
I'm sticking with Pixels because at least I know my monthly updates will improve firmware, not just bump security patch level. And they will come every month. I don't worry too much about the delays, but it's a bad look.

Hi gang, long time, no chat! Amazing what happens when Google finally gets their act together with the P6Ps, isn't it?
The last I heard @ 9to5google.com is that it was late. Nothing beyond that, though. Thank you!
Well, Pixel updates were always released on Mondays. So maybe next Monday? Or even a Monday after that.
March Update postponed indefinitely
Google are getting so slow for updates and they barely have any phones lol, whilst Samsung have pushed out 2 massive updates by the time Google has pushed out 1, I also find it strange that pixels software are the bare minimum and have worse battery life
I don't think anyone really knows when it will be released. Interestingly, the A14 DP2 build that was released yesterday had the March security update in it.

HMMMM....
I count 15 updates and one major version upgrade since the initial release of the P6P since October 2021
I've found that Google's updates have drastically improved battery life for my P6P, but it still doesn't compare to the battery life I used to have with my LG several years ago. And I think we all can remember how bad LG was, with releasing updates. I just thought that perhaps I missed some insider news for the delay, and you are so wonderful with these phones.

All pixel phones have march update ota by now, just not pixel 6
Google really starts to look like fools, when samsung starts to be faster with android updates than google, and delays
Would you rather a fast update or one riddled with phone killing bugs?it's not like they sat down one day and said "i know let's make users mad and not release an update".
Google are doing fine with slow updates with lots of bugs, just look at the pixel 6 and 7 update history, software/hardware bugs are all over the place.
