I am currently having a dilemma,
Just bought the 10.1 yesterday t520, and like the widgets, but want to have less Samsung stuff on,
wanting to install C11 on but I want to keep the stock launcher due to the widgets (magazine) etc.
is this possible and how? or am I only able to root and delete manually instead?

Search for "Galaxy Launcher", use that and CM11, it will give you the same look of the home screen.

Is there a way to change the grid size with the stock TW launcher? I'm not rooted yet but I would root to get this done. I don't want to install a custom recovery and trip knox though. So much screen size and a 4x4 grid is absurd.
Also, is there a way to get rid of the "page indicator" that takes up as much space as a 4x1 widget? Also a waste of space.
If I go to a different launcher what features, apps or widgets would I loose access to? I know the S-pen and its apps/features will still work.
Maybe TW just isn't for me after being on CM for so long.

Not without rooting. Domt know if there is an xposed module for that or not. You may have to decompile the launcher apk to change it.
Different launchers would just lose Samsung specific widgets like weather and memo and such.

I can't find the exact one I used but it was basically the same thing as this. Must be rooted.

Edit- This is the one I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579686
Even before I rooted, I switched to the Nova Launcher. I put a TW Launcher button on one of the secondary screens so I could switch back for any Specific TW launcher type items, but never use it.
I want to get the 8.4 pro. But I really hate the samsung ui. I know you can put a custom launcher on it like Apex or Nova. But the lock screen is still the samsung one. Is their a way to make the lock screen look and feel like stock android 4.4 ?
Thanks...

You can turn the Samsung lock screen off completely in the Settings menu, and install a custom lock screen app from the Play Store. I use WidgetLocker , which has several preset lock screens that look like stock Android. You can also add widgets and custom sliders to the lock screen.
Hey guys
I just got my G Pad 8.3 2 days ago, and now I want to use a custom wallpaper, since I don't like the stock ones that much.
But whenever I change to a custom wallpaper the topbar is no longer transparent. Is there a way to fix this, without rooting?
I would like to kepp my warranty and use the fabric installed OS.
I have a Galaxy S4 where I don't have this problem.
I tested Apex launcher at that solved it, but for some reason I don't like the feel of Apex launcher. It feels different than the stock launcher which i would like to keep.
Thanks in advance

Give Nova a try. I use it to hide the bar and it works good.

Maybe it does, but I would like to keep the stock launcher if possible.
Strange, I have stock 4.4.2 with stock LG launcher and I got transparent notification bar always, regardless of how I change my wallpaper (through menu or from gallery). I remember even with the "old" stock 4.1 it was anlways transparent.

Hey guys!
I'm using a german tabpro 8.4 and i'm a little bit disappointed but thats not the point.
Is it possible to disable the magazine function in tw launcher like on galaxy s5?
I tried the tw launcher from new tab s, which works without problems. Its now possible for me to hide apps in app drawer
Yeah i know there tons of different launchers out there but thats not what i'm looking for...
thx in advance
Es tut mir leid. I know you don't want to hear about launchers, but I used the plain "Google Now Launcher" from the Playstore to specifically get that Magazine UX off the Tab Pro 8.4 Homescreen. At least its a more naked Android experience. I just didn't install Google Now, so Google Now doesn't open on the Homescreen like Magazine UX did. Also, if you have apps moved to the SD card, reviewers say that sometimes their Homescreen shortcuts rearrange/disappear upon reboot. I have no apps on SD card so I don't know if its true.
Hi, I have a new Samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4, and I would like to keep touchwiz at first. But I don't find where I could change or adding app launchers to dock. It only has the google bar and I would like to approach it a little more.
Thanks.

I don't know if I get it... You can install any launcher like Apex, Nova, Go Launcher etc. from the play store and keep your touchwiz rom.
But I'm sure that's nothing new to you...
Thanks, I usually use Nova, but with this new tablet I wanted to give an opportunity to Touchwiz.

I use Nova Launcher on a debloated touchwiz rom, too. I don't like samsung's magazine ui and touchwiz surface is not that customizable as I want it to be. Nova works also very smoothly!
Thanks, I think finally I will move to Nova. But I use this tablet mainly for work and I didn't want to modify it very much.
