I have an issue with a TWRP backup that I did the other day. When in TWRP and I go to restore TWRP does not recognize the backup. When I made the backup it was stored in the TWRP folder on my internal storage. After installing a new sdcard (the next day) I moved the subject backup from the internal storage a folder on my sdcard I named "Backup". In the process of moving the backup the backup name assigned by TWRP was changed. All the files are there, other than the name change no modification has been made to the backup. Is there anyway to recover that backup so that TWRP recognizes it?
I have 2 other backups that TWRP does recognize so I'm good there.

I had made a backup, which didn't work, and flashed a file that messed me up a little. Tried restoring the backup and effectively made it so the only things accessible are twrp recovery and the bootloader.
Is there any way I can copy the contents of the internal sd to the computer this way?

It should mount the phone on the PC so that you can copy to and from with the PC.
Could pull it with adb pull /path_to_file/folder /path_to_pc_directory
It would have been much easier to use the dd command to copy over the entire partition for data but it's Read-Only. I'm not entirely sure how to copy it entirely over, if it was that easy I suppose anyone could do it and it would be a security flaw for private data...
Put a micro sdcard in and just create a regular backup even if you don't have an OS so It creates the directory on the sdcard ,than grab a backup zip and extract it to the
backup/******* (stars represent the letter and numbers once you open the backup folder) so you can restore it.boot it up and go through with the setup and you should gain access to internal memory.
I used titanium backup to backup my apps for when i installed the Lion 5.5 rom. I backed them up to my INTERNAL SD card. I then realized that after backing the apps up, and moved them to the SD card ( by copying the entire folder to the SD card ). I installed the Lion rom as stated before, and then installed Titanium backup, I set the location of the backup folder to the folder where the backup is and then I tried to restore. It said that there were zero apps to restore. Any ideas?
Edit: I also have a backup of my entire system, and the lion rom. If you need me to go back to the original OS when i first backed up the files I can do that, I just cant restore the apps using twrp ( which I used to backup the entire OS ).
Never mind. I got it to work, I had to wipe everything except the internal storage, so when i upgraded to the lion rom, and installed titanium backup It founf my files automatically and I was able to restore.
I have changed my ROM to Fulmics and all okay. I did a TWRP backup of current stock ROM beforehand. I also did a system and internal storage wipe. Unfortunately some of my photos were stored on my internal drive (all the rest are on external SD card). Is there a way to retrieve just the photos? I have looked through the backup files on my PC with WinRar but cannot locate any photos.
Google periodic backup seems to only have backed up the external SD card photos!
I'm not sure, but you could try to restore your "data" partition from the recovery.
Hello,
I made a backup through TWRP to my lollipop rom.
Now Im trying to restore it and i get an error message - "no partitions to restore"
Any help please?
How did you make the backup? What did you check when creating it?
I made the backup through the twrp. i checked all the boxes (system,efs... )
Okay... Did you save it to internal storage, or sdcard? Also did you wipe your phone at all since the backup was made or before trying to restore?
On some TWRP builds, the restore option is not working properly. Do a full wipe and try restoring, if it does't work, you will need a clean install. Make backup of your data before this.
Also you can try updating the recovery image.
i saved it to internal storage then copied to external sd. after i installed other zip rom. when itreid to restore the twrp backup recognized by twrp but doesnt let me to check the boxes (system, efs...) as i wrote

Theoretically if you format the SD in TWRP in way to let it being detected, the format won't be seen by ROM but only by TWRP.
