Hello, pretty new to this forum, but just wanted to thank everyone for the help in advance. I know there are similar threads and there is a master thread for cases, but I've looked though most of it and was unable to find a solid answer.
Basically, I am looking for a semi transulent thin case for the HTC One XL (US Version) that provides a lip for camera protection. I have found some interesting models online, but I am unable to figure out if they would be comptabile with the US version. If anyone could link me or provide insight on the fit to the US model that would be great.
I have listed below a few names of possible cases that I need verification on for fit to US version.
Nillkin Hard Cover Case (White)
HTC HC C700 Ultra Thin Hard Shell Case (Clear) <--- Would be my favorite option, but most concerned about fit
BENKS Magic Cookies <--- Looking for a place to buy this, but also concerned about fit
Once again, I understand that there are similar threads, but this thread is mainly concerned with the fit to the US version of the HTC One X.
Thanks gain.
buddy, try the xl forums. i dont think the internatinal hox forums can help you. we all have the int hox, and minimal people have both, ue luck is better off there.
also, cases that are stated for the int hoc would have misaligned camera holes for the lte hox, so really no luck for you there
I'll give you my experience.
I bought an AT&T One X and lots of cases (8) for the US Version One XL, unfortunatelly I received a Grey one instead of the one I requested so I took the paypal money and bought and international version and let me tell you that all my cases, car dock and desktop dock work like if it was the same phone, and to be honest with you I saw no difference in tickness.
Any chance at all (if possible from a technical standpoint) that we'll get a bamboo back cover? Also, will Motorola allow 3rd party manufacturers to produce their own backs? There are a lot of neat possibilities with the back covers that go well above and beyond the current offerings.
I don't think that official will be anytime available. Moto X is their premium phone and the bamboo back is also a premium accessory. Moto G is a budget device and the half of device price bamboo back wouldn't be to logic for anybody.
3rd party could be (in case also not to logic) but for this just the time will bring the answer.
ebola (from i9300)
I'm sure the chinese will think of something eventually, but right now its a firm no. Doesnt matter how long you bully motorola, the wont release a premium case for a budget phone.
Well...technically the designs that "could" be available are absolutely endless. Ebay and various other online retailers sell vinyl with numerous designs. I actually even found bamboo vinyl as well. Just take the stock back shell off and put the vinyl on. Use a hair dryer/heat gun on low to get all the wrinkles out (I doubt there would even be wrinkles). Then, take a sewing needle and poke holes in the vinyl that would be covering up the speaker grille. It would come out looking very nice. I have done it to many different phones (not the moto g yet though).

I emailed them and received the following awesome and fast reply:
Hey!!
Thanks for the email. We've been getting an obscene amount of requests for the Moto G lately and will add it to our line-up, likely in late January or early February. We're working hard right now on a 100% overhaul to our website which will launch in a few weeks. As soon as it's live, we'll get back to adding new device to our selection. Stay tuned!

So there's a chance that Motorola will launch news shells for Moto G right? Like new colours, patterns....
I hope that chinese make clones of the motorola shells, its very easy, so we only need to wait. (i hope so)
Thanks

Hi fellow XDA roamers,
As promised, I'll be doing a quick review of the Ringke - Fusion (Smoke Black) for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact smartphone.
Here's the Amazon page : Fusion (Smoke Black)
And here's the official website (thanks to @sh4d0wf0x) : Rearth - Ringke Fusion
For some reason, I can't find any official website, not that I need one but sometimes it can help to make sure the product isn't coming from some cheap company.
After my desastrous experience with the CaseMate - Tough Case I was quite impatient to get this case, I even ordered it the morning I got the CaseMate.
I got it for a whopping 13 euros (there was a nice sale on it) instead of 30 and I received it in less than 4 days, another end of the year miracle !
Unboxing
When you receive this case, you know that your cash didn't went to the packaging, a simple translucent plastic bag with a pre-cut opening
The little bag contains the most basic accessories :
The case
A screen protector
A case template for cutting your own back image for the case
Yup, that's it... But who needs extras nowadays ?
At least everything is looking sharp and durable, this time the case fits perfectly the smartphone and doesn't leave any gaps.
It feels secure and looks nice altogether, I must say that this case is quite simple but does its job perfectly.
I haven't dropped my phone since then but I do think it will come unscathed.
A nice addition are little bumps on the back side of the case at each corners, so when the phone is placed on the back, the whole case isn't touching the surface and they're about 1 mm tall so they won't interfere with your hand.
As for the users who are wondering about the little USB hatch, it's still very easy to open (I don't have long nails) it and plug the power cord.
The only things that are going the wrong way are the back of the case that "stick" to the phone, sometimes you can see small succion marks but they can be removed with a simple pressure on the side of the case, and the other thing is that it attracts a lot of fingerprints... like a lot of cases...
The screen protections is like any other, nothing particulars about it, it's cut out for the speakers and led and it's mostly an expected thing from a phone case package.
Let's do a roundup !
The pros
Simple but still looks tough
Bumper protection has a nice rubber feel
Covers all the buttons and offer a little rubber cover for the headphone jack
Small bumps on the back
The cons
Small succion marks from the back of the case, the back of the case tends to suck to the back of the phone
Attracts fingerprints, grease marks & dust
Verdict
All in all, this case is living up to my expectations, looks simple but you can feel that the phone is protected and every little additions are welcome and useful.
This case clearly wipe away the bad taste that CaseMate left in my mouth, can't wait to receive the Orzly tempered glass to check if it all works together
Another review for you guys
Q&A
Anyone with the same case feeling the same as I do or I am missing something ?

I don't know if it's the best case, for now I've only tried 2 of the available ones. There are a lot of other cases out there and it's quite possible that there's a better one.

The casemate tough has a much larger cutout on the magnetic charger side.
Do you think this case will be compatible with the OEM docks? (http://www.sony.com.au/product/dk-48)

I think it should be compatible but as I don't own one myself, I can't give you a clear confirmation
Maybe one of the other XDA users does have this combo and can confirm it works well ?
Quick poke around on the internet suggests it probably won't. Shttp://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/2n3seu/z3c_ringke_fusion_case_and_dk48_dock/)
I'm considering getting a z3c, but the community looks very sparse, and there's no actual usable roms. Is it even worth buying? :\

Too bad for the dock
As for buying it, I can't give your an objective feedback since it's my first Android phone ever but from my experience and the research I've done before jumping in, it's one of the best phone for this kind of size.
This little monster is compact, fast like it's bigger brother and even better looking than him. As for the Sony bloatwares, there are like 10 apps pre-installed, I'm not using most of them but they're not threatening my experience so it's ok for me.
For the custom ROM scarceness, it's linked with the DRM removal associated with unlocking the bootloader. As developers unlock more and more functionalities, more ROM will become available. If you want more informations about that, feel free to look around the General section of the forums.
I'm not very fond of custom ROM (I'm new to this) so for now I'll stick with the stock one.
Buying this phone is more of a love @ first sight and personal tastes, so it's mainly up to you to decide whether you will throw your cash at the screen or not.
Thanks for the insight.
Yeah it'd be my 6th Android phone, with my first being the very first Android phone (HTC Dream).
I've pretty much always used a custom rom with the exception of using rooted stock on the Nexus 5.
The hardware is what appealed to me as well, but it doesn't seem like the software is going to cut it just yet. S:

I have a similar dock and without the insert mine charges fine with this case. I put a thin strip of velcro(the soft side) on the back edge where the phone rest instead of the insert.

Sorry I'm still using the USB cable to charge it but I've already made my mind to buy the Magnector X2 magnetic charger when I have the money, maybe later this year.
I bought both the Ringke and the Cruizerlite. I wanted to like the Ringke, but the left side along the charging port and the sd card port is just way to loose. I can't help but think it would even get looser over time and use. My phone wears the Cruizerlite and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I would change about the Cruizerlite is to make a version with a plain back on it.

Thanks for the insight, it's true that the left side is loose, but I'm not really complaining since I only manipulate this side when I need to plug the USB cable.
For now the Ringke is more than enough for me, the Cruzerlite seems a little bit flimsy for me and the way it blocks the USB section is bothering me. Maybe when I'll have a magnetic charger I will try this one.
I probably should have mentioned that I use the magnetic desk charger and I pair my phone with my PC over WiFi for any transfers, therefore I have no need to access the usb port.

Its the best phone I have owned and the ONLY android phone that I haven't rooted. There is no need.
Sony Skin is VERY minimal and I like the Sony Apps including the Walkman and Album. Nova launcher and a Lollipop Theme (Via Sony's own theming engine) has produced a phone I have ZERO complaints with.
Also the battery really is epic, I use stamina mode and have full sync of gmail, exchange, messenger, whatsapp, the lot and easily leave work with 70-75%
My only complaint like others have is the camera, normal lights its fantastic but low light over cameras beat it.
Trust me this is a great phone. And Lollipop is coming next month.
Seriously just buy one.

Well, I can't be objective on this one but hell, I've already tried 3 or 4 devices under Android and not a single one came closer to it than the Samsung flagships but with added bulkiness.

Okay to make the long story short i bought one of these cases and fell in love with it. So decided to sell these in India as there are hardly any cases available for Oppo Find 7/7A. This is the first time i am selling something online and i hope this is one of the right places to share as it can reach the right kind of people. Check out the pictures below and PM me if you are interested in buying one. I am from Bangalore, India and i will be listing this one on ebay.in in a couple of days on our yet to be started ebay store izealTEK and also will be doing a short video review of the case. The best thing about this case is its amazing premium quality material and its anti knock case cover. Yup you heard it right !! i was actually surprised when i saw these in the pictures and dint know how the buttons would work, but when i received it i was so dam happy with its functionality. Its basically a better alternative for the touch sensitive buttons. These are not clickable buttons but it works as touch sensitive buttons and also its got beautiful design to show the skyline notification light. Over all i would rate it 10/10 and thats the very reason i want to easily make it available to others who live in India. Let me know what do you guys think
Cheers !!

I love to use very minimalistic cases that don't add much bulk to the phone. Mainly want one for protecting the corners of the phone if it is dropped. My preference is a bumper frame that does not have a back to it. I used to have one from Motorola for my Moto X but I cannot seem to find any for the V20. Anyone had any luck finding any yet?

That Sux,but, thank you for the news regardless & also for taking the lead in finding a bumper for this phone.
Nillkin made a nice one for several phones a couple years ago, but,it seems they've dropped that item from their line-up on newer phones.
I have zero interest in the POS aluminum ones that litter e-Bay,I'm sure you've seen 'em.
I've tried 'em out (on past phones) & for the most part, they're just downright awful.
Anyhoo,back to the RhinoShield:
I'm gonna hold out a glimmer of hope,as the phone won't be available in their market (Australia,I believe) for another two weeks, perhaps demand will grow & they'll change their minds:

Yeah I'm still holding out hope! I just think the phone looks great and I hate hiding my phones in cases where you can't even see them. They also tend to add some bulk (depending on what you go with). Hopefully someone will step up to the plate and make one. But yeah I've seen a bunch of those aluminum ones for other phones and yeah they look like junk.

Interesting. I wasn't aware they made one for the V10. Sure hope you're right and they produce one. Someone has to step up and produce one I'm sure. I had the OEM LG V10 Bumper, & as with most other current LG devices, OEM accessories weren't readily available to most outside of S. Korea, at least at phone launch time.
Makes no sense to me, why let the 3rd party mfgs get to market before selling your own accessories, SMH, yet, that's been LG's M.O. for as long as I can remember.....

It did look super nice on the phone and left that cool back open, but it did nothing to protect the camera which was soft, painted aluminum. I switched it for a different case. It seems like bumper cases aren't as popular now. When I had my G3, there were about 10 different manufacturers of bumpers. Really, all I want for this phone is something to protect the top and bottom and to keep the screen and camera hump raised off the surface.
