Just installed a new Wear app update 1.0.2.1545943 from Playstore.
My watch rebooted a few minutes after the app update
According to the changelog they enabled the music syncing feature (at this point i see no added value of using my watch as BT audio player)

Music beta, the Google Android app that supports Google Music Beta, autostarts whenever it detects a BT audio connection that isn't being used. So, for instance, if I shut off Poweramp or another streaming player before I disconnect BT, it will instantly pop up and start playing, sometimes even before the other app has shut down.
There is no settings menu to prevent it from "reacting" to headset commands in the app, and I'd like to be able to control whether it autostarts or not from another application. I downloaded Autostarts, but it doesn't even recognize the event as a trigger for the application.
Any other suggestions? I'd uninstall the damn program, but it's the only app out there now that will play music stored in Google Music beta.
interesting. Have never had it auto-play on bt connect. Are you using the widget as-well?

Nope. I only run the app when I want to play music on Google Music Beta. Otherwise I run Poweramp. What's annoying is that I'll have Pocketcasts up and running and even playing, and suddenly Music will decide it wants to play, too. I had this problem with Winamp and I had it with the stock Music app.
I froze the stock Music app in Titanium, and I could always remove this one, but then there aren't any other apps that play music stored in Google Music.
haven't tried it (trashed google music) but something called 'phantom' (appbrain) claims to play google music in the pro version. I THOUGHT I saw another one that did it but can't find it now. Look around; keep eye out.
Hello,
I am a newcomer in the world of smartwatches. So I've buyed a smartwatch 3 and I struggle to find how to control Play Music on my watch.
When I launch music on my phone, controls are not showing up on my watch. And on my watch when I go to Google Music I can just download musics but not play remotely. And I don't want to download musics because I have a lot of tracks on my phone and I cannot choose which one synchronise on my watch.
I forgot to mention that I'm running lollipop preview, I maybe it is because of that...

Hello,
When you have a track playing on the phone tap the watch face then scroll up from the bottom the track will be displayed then scroll from right to left then the volume controls and track skip will be on the watch screen.
Thanks but it's not working. Maybe due to the lollipop preview version on my phone...

I'm having the same problem on lollipop with two different installs of KNX01V. Playback fro the watch works great, but when music is playing on the phone, no card shows up on the watch. As soon as the phone is paused (with the phone notification still present), the card shows up on the watch. If I then hit play on either the watch or the phone, the card on the watch disappears. Going to try a new build of lollipop soon.
Play Music v5.7.1717Q.1530520

I am running Lollipop too. Music cards don't seem to show when music playback is triggered from the phone. However I do get the name of the current track playing if I tap the screen and navigate back to the watch face, but it disappears (so the phone is sending the information).
As far as I can tell Android Wear currently only supports Google Play Music in the following ways....
Open The Play Music app, this plays back music synced to the watch. This is a bit crap because there is no real control over what is synced, this does result in cards being shown.
Say "OK Google Play Music", this launches Play Music on the phone and plays back tracks at random. This also results in the cards being shown.
It seems Play Music is still a bit raw on Android Wear at the moment, hopefully Google will add the ability to sync specific playlists or albums just to the watch rather than randomly selecting from those that have been synced to the phone.

That's indeed the behavior I can observe on my watch.
I hope you're right and Google will allow to select tracks to synchronize in a future update because actually this is unusable for me as I have tons of GB stored on my phone.
The thing is android wear shows cards/notifications that are not ongoing on the phone, when you pause music - notification is not ongoing and wear shows it
I finally works well with official Lollipop and last version of Android Wear : http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-wear/

Yeah, this version seems to work perfectly now. This will be great for skipping tracks whilst driving.
No matter the app my music notification doesn't show on my 360
I've tried Spotify, Samsung s6 music, and the play music apps
All 3 used to work on my first 360 but none of these notifications ever show on my replacement 360
Only thing I can think of is that the update that added the gestures did this as my first 360 never got it and my second got it like right out of the box
Any help would be appreciated

Yeah I haven't seen my music information after the 5.1.1 update as well.
Sent from my LG-H811 using XDA Free mobile app
It was the main function I used on this smart watch, now it's pretty much a dumb watch. Too bad. I'll be looking for a fix, if not it will end up on eBay.
I only use Play Music and if I start it on my phone I get the card on my watch. I also can go start Play Music on my watch and it will give me the option to play from phone or watch and both of those show the card to control the music as well. I have been on 5.1.1 since the second day it went out.
I have a Moto360 that until last week, played music on the watch via Google Play. However, about a week ago, playing music on the watch failed (error below) and the storage appeared to be clear
THE ERROR: When I choose Google Play music and 'Play on watch', a green circle spins a while, then watch displays a message "Phone is disconnected. Reconnect to download tracks."
This while the watch shows 'Connected' in the Android Wear watch app on the phone, there is no little 'cloud' symbol on the watch face and *all other watch functions operate perfectly.* For instance I can control music and my podcast app on my phone form the watch, it can send SMS messages etc.
I have done a factory re-set on the watch and no change.
Storage shows 2.5 GB clear. Yes, I have downloaded songs on my phone (it worked for quite a while after all).
Anyone come across this message before?
Watch Software: Android wear v. 1.3.0.2166028 and Android version 5.1.1
HTC One M9 Android 5.1 - up to date on AT&T
I am also having this exact issue.
I've tried rolling back the music app, toggling the wear settings inside of the music app, hard resetting the watch.
LG G4
Moto 360
Same issue. Seems to occurred when Google Play and Play Services updated last month. Note: Both have had several updates do not know which one screwed it up on my watch.
same here - very frustrating!
I have a Sonos music system, and have the Sonos app on my phone. I've blocked it in the Android Wear watch from sending notifications to the watch. It still pops up all the time, showing control buttons with SONOS in the background.
I went into Android Wear/settings/ Watch Storage to look for the app since I was going to try and remove it with ADB. But after scrutinizing the list carefully, it doesn't show as an installed app.
So if it's not installed on the watch, and I'm blocking it with Android Wear, why does it keep popping up>
